Honestly, if anyone says it’s not 10 out of 10 stop taking their opinion seriously in any other video game..
This is one of the best DLC‘s ever made, if you’re an adult who cares about the story, about the plot and characters, you’ll get hooked! also, the new weapons are next level Can’t wait for part 2!!

Mostly an upgrade from the original game, but a few steps back as well. The new bosses are surprisingly few. The new weapons are also small in number but thankfully fun and varied, as you'd expect. The game now has difficulty options. On a few bosses I wondered whether the inclusion of easy modes reduced the amount of time the developers spent on game balance. After all, if a boss is overtuned, players can just lower the difficulty. Your "funny" sidekick is there again, providing commentary that will make you wonder if the developers think that their audience consists entirely of people incapable of putting 2 and 2 together. In the novel, Pinocchio kills the cricket. Lucky bastard. Here we can't even tell ours to shut up. The Tracker, a kind of new character, is a nice addition but largely wasted since you're helping him uncover, like, proof of smuggling and individual murder despite hundred or thousands of people dying everywhere. My man, did you see the zoo? I think we have bigger problems. Finally, Lea was a welcome character, excellently voiced. So as before, the story is quite uneven in quality. Anyway, pick it up on sale if there's ever one.

One of the best DLC’s I’ve played in a while. If you like the original Lies of P, you’re gonna love this. Improving upon the already amazing original in almost every aspect. Fantastic journey through breathtaking environments and a true emotional experience that ties together the story from the main game. A piece of art. 10/10

The story of this dlc is really good. Also the final boss might be my favorite boss fight in all of gaming.

Almost every boss feels like a skill check and you rarely feel like it's unfair. The map design, boss design, storytelling are all better than the base game according to me. Would give this DLC 9.5 if decimals were allowed!

Great DLC, i really really liked the story, very good boss fights (especially the final one). Very good new OSTs, if someone liked base game he will deffinitly like this dlc. But there is a very big difficulty difference which i think is good.

A great dlc, I thought all the bosses were pretty darn fun and satisfying to beat. While it had no real bearing on the main story, I thought it was intriguing for what it was.

The story is much more cohesive than in the base game. Although it is a side story, an addition to the main story, and we don't learn too much about poor Carlo, it is a moving, interesting story in itself with an uplifting ending. This is what the base game couldn't achieve for me with its stupid choices. Here we run straight into the inevitable ending, but that's why the whole outcome is somehow much more heroic and beautiful. The final boss fight is also top notch, but the ending and after credit scenes are the best! This is the experience when you feel like, well, this is why the suffering was worth it, it was worth playing through X hours! The weapons available are great, oh that rose sword! I was pushing myself to get it at the end, and yes, yesss! Somehow the levels are more memorable, even if only because of their difficulty or complexity, sometimes I even dreamed about them. ;) The side stories are also somehow much more interesting and heartbreaking, not to mention the (literary) easter egg, for example, which was the highlight for me. So overall, I could say that this DLC is harder than the base game, and often much more boring, but the unfolding life stories and catharsis at the end make up for all that. Well, that's how you should end a work! It's definitely a lasting experience. :

If you liked Lies of P, you're going to go crazy for Overture. And you SHOULD like lies of P. It expands on everything, from story to characters to lore, to incredible weapons and new bosses, with QoL improvements in many aspects. Neowiz has shown just what kind of incredible force it represents in the gaming industry, and it's sure to prove that again in due time. Overture is everything the action fans have been asking for, and it delivers.

I love that Round8 Studio & Neowiz doubled down on the story. The storytelling, characters, voice acting, just everything about it. Whatever formula they have here, they've actually mastered it. They're truly doing something with the genre where it's not just difficult traversal of the world & cinematic bosses, they're particularly leaning heavily into building a compelling and touching narrative, not just the main story but for side stories as well. I really want Round8 & Neowiz to keep this level of story in their future games if not more. There's so much more to say about this game that I can praise, but all I'll say is when I finished Elden Ring I had the thought in my mind that it was one of the greatest games I'd ever played, and for this DLC, I share the exact same sentiment. Round8 and Neowiz cooked up a masterpiece with Lies of P Overture.

As a drooling fan of the original, Overture still managed to surprise me in how good it truly was. The new bosses are staggeringly good, the new weapons are unbelievably fun and the story added didn't feel like tacked on ****. Instead it blew me away.

I'm not a really good "souls player", but the base game and the DLC are perfectly doable. In the DLC there are some hard difficulty spikes, but nothing that some practice and patience won't solve. The aesthetics were amazing (imo), the combat hard to learn but rewarding, the animations are a 10/10 and the final boss was another excellent fight. I can just recommend this DLC and hope everyone has the amazing experience they deserve. Take your time and enjoy it!

They did it again and gave us one of the most unique atmospheres and environment interactions that was such an immersive experience I was smiling the whole time, just go a head you will never regret it and with the new difficulty even though I took my time and never lowered just so I get soooo good at this amazing game I loved every time I was at the office thinking how am I going to beat the boss but you can just lower and enjoy the atmosphere, story and music soo worth it

Just… wow. I have been playing “soulsborne” games since Demon’s souls which I had to sneak because I wasn't allowed to play “M” rated games at the time. I had just seen an advertisement for Dark Souls 1 in my game informer magazine subscription and I thought “this is my dream game”. When it came out, I was around 13-14 years old, and it was one of those rare moments that the game blew my biggest expectations out of the water. It was a truly magical experience. It is still my favorite game ever. I have played every single game Miyazaki has released since then at least 10 times each. Yet, when I searched for a “souls-like” to quench my thirst for more… they all paled in comparison. Yes, this included Lies of P! It was good, the closest, but I didn’t love it. I don’t know why, but I saw it had this DLC called “Overture” and I thought, “well if this is like Fromsoft DLC’s in that they learn from the base game and improve; well this might go from good to great.” I was wrong. It went from good to one of the best gaming experiences I’ve had, period. It rivalsthe best of Fromsoft, and as a die hard, long-term fan, that really is saying a lot. This may be heresy, but they out did the From Soft “Learn from base game and improve” DLC formula. It’s so good that improves the base game experience by a lot, despite it not changing. So why am I saying all this? — First, the “tie-in” lore. It’s similar in concept to Artorias of the Abyss, except it takes that idea and quintuples down on it. The puzzle pieces are complex, yet come together beautifully. Beautifully, epically, horrifyingly, and heartbreakingly. It gives you just enough to really piece it together, yet leaves room for community led discoveries, deeper and more complex lore similar to what you’d find in a fromsoft game. So you get both, an incredible, fleshed out story that goes into the base game in countless and substantial ways, and also deeper mysteries for videos to explore, for forum groups to chat about. — The environments are stunning, Full of character, wonder, beauty and horror.. This was the biggest improvement in my opinion,a sprawling city that once flourished, a crown jewel of engineering, the results of man and machine creating a brighter future. Now fallen into a blood soaked echo of its former self. The beauty of the city often makes it more impactful when it’s piled with corpses. — I’m running out of time to write this, but the bosses again are up there with the absolute peak of Fromsoft bosses. One of them, in my opinion surpasses all else. This boss is so terrifying, so hate-able (in a good way, he’s a villain), so well designed, it’s shocking. The build up to him really makes you scared to fight him, in a city of horrors he stands far above the rest. Then you do fight him, not only is it the best co-op fight, it’s the best difficulty to fairness ratio fight I’ve experienced. You have to try both solo and co-op, he’s harder than melania or consort to me (solo) yet I never felt he was cheap (looking at you waterfell). I could go on and on; the weapons, the quests, the enemies and more. Almost importantly though., is this dlc really brought back that feeling of magic I rarely get playing games as I age.

Lies of P: Overture was a short but enjoyable experience. Despite its limited length, it manages to expand on the main game's lore, giving us a deeper look at Lea, Romeo, Alidoro, and of course, Carlo. The new boss fights do their job well—challenging and satisfying—and the final sequence delivers a strong, emotional conclusion. It's bittersweet, but filled with hope.

I never lowered the difficulty in the base game, because as frustrating as it could be, the bosses almost never had excessive healthpools; the game was balanced for that difficulty setting because it was the only one available. This goes out the window in the DLC. While I was able to clear most of the areas on the hardest difficulty, the bosses are overtuned in what I can only assume is a marketing ploy to compete with other Soulslikes, namely the DLC for Elden Ring, whose infamously overtuned bosses provided much media coverage. Neowiz seems to have engaged in a consummate mimicry of Fromsoft's design ethos by attempting to utilize this same tactic to ragebait streamers and score some notoriety from gaming outlets, all too valuable in the Soulslike space. The issue is that like Elden Ring's DLC, this comes at the cost of balanced gameplay. Shadow of the Erdtree compensated players for its artificially inflated difficulty with Scadutree Blessings and lore summons, which were optional in-game mechanics the designers used as a crutch to improperly balance the fights by essentially shrugging and asking you to become dependent on them to even the odds. The difficulty options added with Overture's release are the Scadutree blessings of Lies of P, as well as lore summons in a couple major fights that do not require the use of a Star Fragment. You can either wade neck deep into boss hp that is so shamelessly outsized from the base game that it is immediately noticeable, and suffer the inevitable dozens of two- or three-shot deaths to the egregiously delayed and extended combo flailing, or you can turn the difficulty to Medium or Easy and suddenly it feels like a game that people actually bothered to balance. The final boss was actually doable on Hard, but every time I'd get him down to his final chunk he'd pull out some cheap desperation grab that always resulted in death. This invalidated the entire fight for me, and once reducing the difficulty to Medium I was caught twice by the grab and yet able to survive in both cases, as it should be, because a well- designed fight doesn't include an attack that is both near impossible to avoid and also insta-kills you at the very end just to force you to play for longer. The spam on display here from all the bosses and minibosses is absolutely unwarranted and has you waiting eons for a combo to wrap up just for a half second punish window to be closed by the next spastic fit. This is indicative of the arms race Soulslikes have found themselves in as of late, especially after standardization by Elden Ring, to increase the quantity of chintzy bs in order to claim the title of New Hardest Game, and it's only enabling these devs to commit lazy design decisions. I think this degrades the subgenre into a series of unsatisfying stat-checks and IWBTG-styled "gotcha" garbage to roadblock you instead of focusing on fairness. I played Lies of P for 47 hours, DLC included, and never got the hang of the parry. It is the single most insanely finicky parry mechanic I've ever dealt with and yet the game designs enemy combos to try to force you into learning it to avoid being heinously spammed to death. But the window is so slim that no matter how many times I did it, I always felt like it was up to chance whether the game took it or not. If I can play through nearly 50 hours **** and barely improve my performance of a core mechanic despite earnestly attempting it countless times, it might be a little too unforgiving. It was giving me flashbacks of the jank parry timing of Jedi Fallen Order on Grandmaster difficulty, and ever since launch it has been a primary point of contention even amongst fans of the game, yet the dev seems so bizarrely committed to this decision that they'd sooner include difficulty options even after stating it went against their ethic to do so. I don't suppose the parry will ever receive a patch for it to feel more consistent than random chance, and I think that's a blight on the clear passion the devs had for their project. It may well be the best Soulslike to date, but that doesn't mean it's without some major flaws that brought down the experience for me.

Even though I am not an expert at soulslike games, I still enjoyed playing the base game but this DLC is awful. Depending on the build, the stagger takes more time to recover than the attack itself. On top of that, not only do enemies attack harder, they attack in groups. The game is absolutely not tuned to new attack pattern. They should not add difficulty sliders. I find them a rather cheap marketing strategy to get more players without effort. The reason why I think it's cheap is even if they decided on different difficulty, they should at least provide some extended attack pattern which depends on settings. What they did was just lower damage numbers. Apart from some QoL improvements, the DLC did not add anything new but extended story. It's definitely not worth its price.

To be entirely honest, Overture is pretty good. It's not amazing. It's a reasonable size compared to the base game, and you'll likely enjoy it, but I did feel that most of the boss fights left something to be desired. Whereas pretty much every single one of the base game boss fights felt unique, fun and well polished, most of the Overture bosses felt a bit rough around the edges and were more of a relief to get through as apposed to rewarding. The big exception being the final boss of the DLC which was amazing. The level and area design starts out a bit weak and slowly gets better, but imo only the last 20% or so of the DLC is really up to the base game standards. Overall it is a worthwhile addition but it definitely could have delivered a bit more punch. It does introduce some amazing new weapons, and I am still excited to see what their next full game brings.

A perfect follow-up to a superb soulslike. Ramped up difficulty mixed with a gorgeous world, alongside a beautiful story. An utterly unique take on the genre that takes the path right into your soul while kicking your ass for good measure. It's an almost completely flawless game that sets the stage for another developer to really carve out making authentic soulslike experiences that isn't just Fromsoft. Can't recommend it enough!

I have over 140 hours on the base game and all of the achievements even the dlc ones. The dlc adds a lot more content then I was expecting, it adds 5 new areas with 3-4 mini bosses 1 mid, 2 hard and 4 actual bosses that give special weapons, 1 easy, 1 mid, 1 hard and 1 extremely hard. I will defiantly recommend both the base game and the dlc.

I had finished the game, with full motivity build(Slow, tanky and 1hitmassive damage type)
The problem that i have encountered instantly playing overture is that the expansion was not made for slow chunky builds.
The enemies and bosses have too quick of attacks and pummel you non stop.
I went through the whole game with that build and finished it easily and now I cannot even get past the first boss on overture because its too damn tanky and its attacks are spammed without me having an opportunity to hit back with my slow attacks.
This is a big balance issue

Excellent expansion with some nice QOL improvements to the base game as well and difficulty settings in case you would like to play the game for the story. DLC expands on and explains many threads the base game had introduced. It features couple of interesting bosses and locations. It's more less half of the length of the base game. You can't do wrong with it no matter how you intend to play the game.

I love the base game but don't like how this was implemented. Most people who will want to jump into this dlc will already have beaten the game and will have already started their ng+ save but not played thru much of it, like me. The problem with this is that you have to then play thru all the way to the end of the game again on ng+ to get to the dlc which imo is ridiculous. Not only that but the dlc doesn't seem to be balanced around ng+ as every single enemy/boss can kill you with either one or two hits. The enemies also have 40% more health on ng+ and while you are a higher level playing on ng+, your weapons aren't any stronger... you cant upgrade them beyond +10 or +5 so there's a gap in the enemies hp against your damage output.

Lies of P: The Overture DLC is everything I hoped for and more. Every aspect of this expansion shines—starting with the level design, which is as intricate and rewarding as the base game, filled with smart shortcuts, hidden paths, and beautifully eerie **** graphics are absolutely gorgeous, pushing the already-stunning art direction even further. The new areas feel distinct, fresh, and deeply atmospheric. The new weapons are incredibly well-designed—satisfying to use and add a new layer of depth to **** boss fights are a highlight—easily a 10/10. Each encounter feels unique, challenging, and epic in scope, with incredible animations and design. What truly blew me away was the story and lore. It’s rich, emotional, and masterfully told. This DLC deepens the narrative in ways I didn’t expect, making the world of Lies of P even more **** you're a fan of the base game, this is a must-play. One of the best DLCs I’ve ever experienced—hands down.

I just finished the dlc and I only have words of praise for the developers. The game was excellent. It was a pleasure to have spent hours and hours playing it. I adore him.
