Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact is a dodgy fighting game with oversimplified mechanics, a thin roster, and barely any game modes. As far as full-priced modern fighting games go, you can do far better with almost any other game.

Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact knows its place in the fighting game food chain, and thrives within it. With a fun and crazy battle system, Nen Impact offers plenty of fun for fighting game fans looking for something fresh in the current market.

Hunter X Hunter: Nen Impact is not the long-awaited tribute to this legendary licence. No sooner done than forgotten.

This game is worse than the hiatuses. Absolutely unplayable and i wish this game never came out.

Because it's based on a manga, the characters are appealing, but there aren't many of them. There's no 1v1 mode, and the story mode is sloppy. The character balance is also poor.

Nice game, especially for those who are fans of Hunter x **** combat system is fun and captures the spirit of the anime, even if it’s not the most polished out there. The story mode is engaging and full of fan service, but sometimes the pacing feels a bit slow. Graphics are solid, nothing groundbreaking, but they do their job. Overall, it’s a must-try for fans and still enjoyable for newcomers

The animations are excellent, combat feels satisfying, and the offline modes offer solid content. But all of that is overshadowed by the lack of balance, a limited character roster, and—most notably—a problematic multiplayer experience (which, to be fair, is expected to improve over time). In the end, Nen x Impact is a decent adaptation, but one riddled with flaws, still far from capturing the depth of Togashi’s manga.

Honestly, the hate this game gets is way exaggerated. Hunter × Hunter: Nen × Impact has its flaws, sure, but the gameplay is genuinely fun and engaging. If you’re a fan of the series or enjoy arena fighters, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Somewhere inside Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact there’s a fantastic game waiting to shine. Unfortunately, a sparse character roster, minimal single-player content, and a lackluster online experience so far keep it from truly standing out. I sincerely hope the post-launch content can polish things up a bit — even if it’s just for the few hardcore players who’ll stick around that long. As it stands, the game doesn’t offer enough single-player content to convert Hunter x Hunter fans into fighting game players, nor is it polished enough to satisfy those who already are.

Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact is the series' first globally released game and brings fun 3v3 gameplay with strong presentation and solid training tools. However, it's held back by questionable design choices like awkward offline modes, a lack of motion inputs, an 8-button control scheme not friendly to arcade stick/hitbox users, and no cross-play. It's completely out of step with modern fighting game standards, and while the game does have potential, it needs major updates to fully satisfy both casual fans and competitive players.

Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact is an accessible and highly entertaining 2D fighting game, but as a product, it suffers from an alarming lack of content and passion for the license.

Hunter × Hunter: Nen × Impact has heart, but lacks punch. The tiny roster and short story mode won’t cut it for most, unless you’re a die-hard fan. For real fighting thrills and a proper brawling fix, you're better off elsewhere.

Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact is not a good fighting game. Matches quickly become one-sided with one-button combos, and inexperienced players face extremes: either overly easy wins or losses against overpowered characters who drain all your health in a few hits.

Gameplay is fun, if you like crazy fighting games with mega combos you will like this game, however ai can’t rate it any higher due to terrible single player content and netcode

Move over, Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash. A new contender has emerged for worst anime fighting game of the 2020's, and that is Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact. Firstly, Nen Impact copies the Dragon Ball FighterZ gameplay a little too closely, but fails to deliver in a satisfying way. I know this is at launch, and it will be patched at later points, but certain characters in this game are either criminally underpowered, or will wreck shop in quick order. And if you have this issue on day one, you've potentially alienated some people later down the line. Another issue is that the game's base roster is very small, and that's for a 3 VS 3 team fighting game. At launch, Nen Impact only has 16 characters to choose from. By comparison, FighterZ has 24 at launch (though some you have to unlock), both the most recent Marvel VS Capcom games (even Infinite) had twice the roster at launch, and at the time of Guilty Gear Strive's addition of a 3 V 3 mode, there were 28 characters in Guilty Gear Strive. As for the visuals, they look very dated. For a game launching on PS5, Switch, and PC, it makes last gen, and even certain PS3 era games look better than Nen x Impact. Some stylized PS2 era games might even look better. As for the story, it somehow manages to be even lazier other licensed anime games. Not only is it still shots from the 2011 Hunter X Hunter anime, from there's no voice acting, be it for narration, or spoken dialogue, outside of some grunts. Performance issues can be patched over time, but lack of content is something harder to do. For Hunter X Hunter fans, save your money until serious patchwork can be done, and prices get reduced significantly. At launch, Hunter X Hunter: Nen x Impact gets a 2 out of 10.
