The Blood of Dawnwalker is a fun race against time that effectively introduces a universe teeming with vampires and even worse threats. While there are some technical issues and enemy balancing could be improved, that doesn't change the fact that Rebel Wolves has delivered one of the best RPGs of 2026.

Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition remains a solid RPG and is recommended for players who have never experienced the adventure. The game features simple but functional systems, a strong cast of characters, and a story filled with twists. On Switch 2, the visual improvements and 60 FPS option provide an experience closer to the PC and other console versions. However, for players who already own the original Switch version, the lack of an upgrade path makes the purchase harder to justify.

Silent Hill: Townfall surprised me with how well it uses the first-person perspective to refresh the series, with a strong atmosphere, excellent sound design and creative mechanics like the CRT television. The puzzles and stealth also work well and help maintain the tension throughout the campaign. On the other hand, some choices are frustrating, such as the low weapon durability, shallow crafting system, overly long stealth sections and unnecessary backtracking. Still, these are relatively minor issues in an experience that understands what makes Silent Hill work.

Star Wars Zero Company is a great game for anyone missing an XCOM-style tactical RPG; it features enough differences in combat and classes to avoid feeling like just an XCOM game with a Star Wars skin, though its performance on PS5 is unfortunately quite poor. Even so, I really enjoyed the game.

Control Resonant takes the series in a different direction without losing Remedy's identity. The new melee combat is excellent and offers countless build possibilities, while the exploration of Manhattan, the secrets, and the side missions expand the universe beautifully, although enemy variety could be much better and some open-world activities are uninspired, but the overall package is excellent, making Control Resonant one of my favorite games of the year.

Dragon Quest Heroes: Torneko's Mystery Dungeon -Classic HD- is a fun game and a remake that no one saw coming. It has its charm but is far from revolutionary or a must-play; it is simply an okay spin-off that improves the more you play, yet never rises above "okay."

Although Another Eden Begins never fully gets its story right and suffers from a lack of challenge, it remains an enjoyable game, especially on the Switch 2 as a low-attention experience to play alongside a sports program or TV series. However, expectations should be kept in check, as the Studio Prisma title is a solid RPG that delivers what it promises without being particularly revolutionary or memorable.

Marvel's Wolverine captures the vibe of the PS2 and PS3 era—the kind of game people often complain isn't made anymore—featuring solid combat and a good story. However, it holds the player's hand too much with guides and moments where failure is impossible, and it offers virtually no post-campaign content. Consequently, it is far better to wait for a sale than to pay full price for the game.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a very fun game packed with memorable combat, but the constant reuse of bosses takes a bit of the shine off it, with certain moments in the campaign where the game is simply stalling to make itself seem longer than it needs to be. Even so, it is easily one of the most enjoyable games I played in 2026.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy delivers a focused linear adventure without trying to reinvent the genre. Its exploration, puzzles, combat, visuals, atmosphere, and story keep players engaged throughout the journey. While some puzzles can feel repetitive and the combat is fairly simple, the game remains a competent and enjoyable experience. Fans of A Plague Tale will especially appreciate the opportunity to learn more about Sophia and explore an untold part of her story.
