This game is worse than the hiatuses. Absolutely unplayable and i wish this game never came out.

Because it's based on a manga, the characters are appealing, but there aren't many of them. There's no 1v1 mode, and the story mode is sloppy. The character balance is also poor.

Nice game, especially for those who are fans of Hunter x **** combat system is fun and captures the spirit of the anime, even if it’s not the most polished out there. The story mode is engaging and full of fan service, but sometimes the pacing feels a bit slow. Graphics are solid, nothing groundbreaking, but they do their job. Overall, it’s a must-try for fans and still enjoyable for newcomers

Honestly, the hate this game gets is way exaggerated. Hunter × Hunter: Nen × Impact has its flaws, sure, but the gameplay is genuinely fun and engaging. If you’re a fan of the series or enjoy arena fighters, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Gameplay is fun, if you like crazy fighting games with mega combos you will like this game, however ai can’t rate it any higher due to terrible single player content and netcode

This game is utter garbage. Game price aside. This game has nothing redeeming about it and it is one of the most pathetic releases for a video game ( not solely a fighting game) in 2025. I am extremely happy to see this game flop and burn because we as consumers should reject these types of scams and garbage in 2025. I sincerely hope this game will be the nail in the coffin for 8ing studios and hopefully they never make another video game again

only played the demo but either way the games broken and for an asw game it is genuinely terrible having only 16 characters when its a 3v3 game, it tried being marvel 3 but failed in every way. the games source material is just not really there like they could’ve made the game more input heavy and made throws traditional with back throws and controlling your character feels clunky at best with there being no way to plink dash like in marvel 3. they could’ve at the very least gave all the characters a run animation instead of dashing it makes it harder to put pressure on your opponent and seems like Nen impact was trying to be a zoning meta so characters like gon, killua and other characters that lack good range or projectiles so characters like lerorio and kurapika are gonna dominate the games meta because kurapika has great range and lerorio and just zone from full screen. combos are doing 50-90% damage effortlessly and asw needs to make damage scaling alot higher if they want games to last longer and more fair. I felt like the game deserved to have alot more attention than it got, mostly because the rest of the studio was probably working on strive or granblue and that ended up making nen impact looking like a ps vita game and a broken mess ****. the game should’ve been in the oven for alot longer than it actually ended up that should’ve been a early 2026 title at least. and the game should not be worth the 60$ price tag especially in this state, I think at best it should’ve been 25$ at launch not more than double that

Move over, Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash. A new contender has emerged for worst anime fighting game of the 2020's, and that is Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact. Firstly, Nen Impact copies the Dragon Ball FighterZ gameplay a little too closely, but fails to deliver in a satisfying way. I know this is at launch, and it will be patched at later points, but certain characters in this game are either criminally underpowered, or will wreck shop in quick order. And if you have this issue on day one, you've potentially alienated some people later down the line. Another issue is that the game's base roster is very small, and that's for a 3 VS 3 team fighting game. At launch, Nen Impact only has 16 characters to choose from. By comparison, FighterZ has 24 at launch (though some you have to unlock), both the most recent Marvel VS Capcom games (even Infinite) had twice the roster at launch, and at the time of Guilty Gear Strive's addition of a 3 V 3 mode, there were 28 characters in Guilty Gear Strive. As for the visuals, they look very dated. For a game launching on PS5, Switch, and PC, it makes last gen, and even certain PS3 era games look better than Nen x Impact. Some stylized PS2 era games might even look better. As for the story, it somehow manages to be even lazier other licensed anime games. Not only is it still shots from the 2011 Hunter X Hunter anime, from there's no voice acting, be it for narration, or spoken dialogue, outside of some grunts. Performance issues can be patched over time, but lack of content is something harder to do. For Hunter X Hunter fans, save your money until serious patchwork can be done, and prices get reduced significantly. At launch, Hunter X Hunter: Nen x Impact gets a 2 out of 10.
