Beast of Reincarnation

Critic ScoreIGN Benelux

Unfortunately, I can't recommend Beast of Reincarnation. The static story, the empty world, and the graphical issues mostly result in frustration rather than fun. Literally the only thing that saves this game from a failing grade is the fluid action and combat.

Halo: Campaign Evolved

Critic ScoreIGN Benelux
Jul 27, 2026
Halo: Campaign Evolved shows that Combat Evolved still holds up strongly 25 years later. With improved visuals and clever adjustments, Halo Studios modernizes the original without losing its identity. Despite the absence of multiplayer and a few progression-breaking bugs, the strong gunplay and respectful approach make this an excellent remake for fans and newcomers alike.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game

Critic ScoreIGN Benelux
Jul 27, 2026
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a surprisingly strong fighter with an exceptionally poor level of polish. Are you satisfied with a strong foundation, a handful of interesting characters, and decent netcode? Then you'll get some enjoyment out of the game. If you're here purely for the franchise, however, this can hardly do anything but disappoint.

Jul 21, 2026
Splatoon Raiders has turned out to be a highly entertaining game that solo players can easily pick up. If you only play through the missions, you'll see the end credits roll after about thirty hours, but in many ways, that's when Splatoon Raiders really begins.

Denshattack!

Jul 15, 2026
There's a great, addictive skating game hidden inside Denshattack! After a few patches, it might just come out. For now, the many bugs and needlessly complex, inconsistent controls make it too frustrating to play – especially if you're chasing high scores.

Mina the Hollower
90
Critic ScoreIGN Benelux
Jul 10, 2026
Mina the Hollower is harder than it looks, but it's a captivating adventure. Combat forced me to take more risks so my healing items would be used to full effect, and this proved a substantial challenge throughout the game. If that puts you off, there are plenty of options to make Mina more bearable. The world is gorgeous, as are its art style and soundtrack, but it truly shines in its dungeons and puzzles. Alongside the tough combat, learning to handle Mina's digging technique is also essential for survival, since it's used for everything: from combat to exploring the world. Mina has a few frustrations, but manages to convince as my favorite indie game of 2026.

Echoes of Aincrad
45
Critic ScoreIGN Benelux
Jul 9, 2026
The game starts off promising, but the remaining 95 percent of Echoes of Aincrad consists of repetition and waiting for a game that never actually begins. Even my love for Sword Art Online ultimately wasn't enough to push through it. Echoes of Aincrad isn't a game that's a complete failure. It's far more frustrating than that. It keeps showing you how great it could have been, only to disappoint you time and time again.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

Critic ScoreIGN Benelux
Jul 8, 2026
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has become an excellent remake that justifies its right to exist within the first few minutes. The vast open setting of the Caribbean is wonderful to explore, and if you're strapped for cash this summer, Resynced is a great alternative to still go on vacation while diving up some treasures along the way.

Meccha Chameleon delivers fantastic, creative chaos for next to nothing. The menus and servers are a mess, but the gameplay twist is pure gold.

Rhythm Paradise Groove is a delightfully rhythmic game, but unless you feel like playing every level to perfection, you will get bored of it quite quickly.
