Despite the numerous flaws, Kararot still offers a wonderful retelling of the main story, above-average graphics, and a great soundtrack, so it’s worth picking up for established and new fans of the series alike.

Even though DBZ: Kakarot retells the same story the franchise has been telling for decades, it manages to do so in creative new ways for hardcore anime fans.

There are plenty of flaws, but they mostly come down to the ambition being a little too high, and the mechanics not quite fitting right. Yet… for all these flaws, this Kakarot manages to hype the fans in the audience like the source material has done for all the years. Key moments from the series are showcased absolutely perfectly. Just like how filler can be abided to see and experience the fan-favourite arcs, the missteps here can be forgiven. At least by the hardcore Dragon Ball fans. This is a series that deserves to continue, let CyberConnect2 perfect its creation. There are still the OG sagas to cover, along with the many movies, and even better, the recent stories of Super.

This game mixes the story of Dragon Ball and open-world adventure really well. I found the combat very fun. However, I can see how one could say that it's a bit boring, as it's really just the same thing over and over, just with slightly different enemies. What's really annoying is the amount of random enemies around the map that don't even pose a challenge, it just adds bore to your experience. If they improved the enemies, then the open world experience would be a lot better. I found the DLCs to be pretty decent and fun. Especially the ones with more story, like the Future Gohan/Trunks one, the Diama ones, the Bardock one and even the SSJ blue one. I found being able to play with Goku/Vegetas god forms was very fun, and it gave more feeling to this game as well. This game handled the peak moments of Dragon Ball very well, like when Goku first went super- saiyan, when Gohan went ssj 2 and the fight against kid Buu. Even in the DLC, where you fight gold Frieza, they handled the best moments of that very nicely as well. I also like how this game, in some of the cutscenes, it copys the original style that Dragon Ball had back then, it's a small detail but a nice one. My main critique for this game is that the sub storys/sub plots are boring as hell. Like when you have to do random things that don't really contribute any to the story, and they only introduce features of the game. And with the sub missions, while I know you don't really have to do them, I just found all of them low quality and boring. Trust me, when you play this game, do not play any of the sub-missions because it will ruin your experience. The only times you should do it is when you need a specific item or something. But even then, hunting for it yourself would be more fun than doing these stupid sub-missions. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot also adapts the world of Dbz itself very nicely. Like the dinosaurs, animals and creatures all capture that old style of Dragon Ball that you don't get in the more modern adaptions of Dragon Ball. After completing the story, there's many other things that you can do that doesn't include sub-missions that are quite fun. If you're going to buy DBZ Kakarot then also get as many DLCS with it as your budget can as the dlcs are worth it. So overall, you should get this game, it's quite fun, and especially if your a DBZ fan yourself.

This is the perfect game for those who want to play a game that tells the story of Dragon Ball. There are of course other games that tell always the same story, but the way this game does is absolutely perfect. Surely one of the best Dragon Ball game.

A very few games can compare to Kakarot in terms of sheer love towards the original series and storytelling qualities. Not without its set of flaws that leave only regret not being even greater, Kakarot still manages to be a great game for fans. No, scratch that. It manages to be an amazing game! May they not stop here, and deliver more and more of love-letters like this. If it goes in the right direction, the next one could definitely be legendary.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is the best way to get acquainted with the Saiyan saga and the series in general. It's strange that the most advertised mechanics of the game, the RPG and open-world aspects, are also the least developed. It's the story and the bombastic fights where Kakarot really shines, so if you're approaching the game from these perspectives, you're in for a thrilling ride. To put it bluntly, stay away from exploring and don't expect any deep, meaningful RPG elements, and you'll have a pleasant time in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

I really love this game, even if there is much filler. I Like The cutsceens in which The Story is telled.

Kakarot is one of the games based on this manga we’ve enjoyed the most. It’s a fantastic adventure, and even if it’s not perfect, it’s made by fans for fans. If you are one of those kids who sit in front of the TV waiting for the next episode to air, you’ll enjoy every second of it.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a fantastic avenue for new and casual fans alike, providing a deeper level of insight and immersion into a beloved franchise. However, more seasoned veterans of the series may not be as easily impressed. Fluid, fast, and visually stunning combat combined with some intriguing ideas gives Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot plenty to root for, but it still doesn’t feel as fleshed out and creative as its Xenoverse cousin.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's modern, semi-open approach to telling the saga of DBZ--despite some minor issues--is a good one. Zooming around the environments and seeing the world up close is a blast, and it's great being able to interact with so many fun DBZ characters and see stories that usually get passed over for game adaptations. And even though combat can be a bit lacking, when the big battles happen, they feel suitably epic and engaging. If you're looking for an enjoyable way to see the life and times of adult Goku through a new perspective, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will grant your wish.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot isn’t the RPG we were expecting to get, but instead a frustrating, tedious and even boring game. While we can’t grow tired of Dragon Ball story, there are certainly many other ways to enjoy it.

Entertaining but its success is tied more to the nostalgia behind the series

Cutscenes range from cheap to improving on the original anime. Characters never stop repeating the same line. That and the side missions get annoying very quickly. I could only use a few characters which was disappointing. Still, I had fun. It's fine.

Great story, great graphics but: Low performance
Combat system is one of the worst i ever seen
Open world system is sick, full of stupid npc

Take the most boring and bland Open-World Action RPG you can possibly imagine and give it a DBZ coat of paint: Voila, you have created this game. The overworld is empty and lifeless (and looks terrible) and exists solely because Open World games are all the rage now and your character needs a space to fly around in. Encounters with regular enemies are incredibly repetitive, side quests are as basic as it gets, and the game's systems are unnecessarily convoluted. Almost every feature in this game seems to have been put in not because it enriches the gameplay, but because other Open-World titles do something similar. So the one word to sum this game is: Uninspired.
