Disney Speedstorm is a unique take on the Kart racing genre. Attempting to be free to play in the hopes to gain favour. Riddled with microtransactions and lacking in spirit, the game unfortunately falls a bit flat.

Overall, Disney Speedstorm is a good kart racer. The overly complex in-game economy and lack of Grand Prix or other modes outside of single races may push some gamers away, and I wouldn’t blame them. At its core, this solid kart racer does just enough to make it worth checking out, but it won’t be challenging the title of Mario or Crash any time soon.

Disney Speedstorm is certainly “on a roll” with its electrifying stages and game design, but it’s certainly not “undefeated.” The confusing microtransactions pull it down and become an annoying distraction to what’s great in this kart racer. While a love for the Disney product is certainly present in Disney Speedstorm, there are a few annoying aspects of the game to be mindful of.

From a Great Game to a "Pay-to-Progress" Trap – Stay Away!
I have been a dedicated player for months, supporting Disney Speedstorm by purchasing every single Golden Pass and spending hundreds of euros. I own over 100 racers and loved the game, but the April 9th update (Season 19) completely destroyed the **** new 'Tune Coins' economy is a total scam. I unlocked Elsa, but I can’t even perform her first upgrade despite having more than enough fragments, simply because the game locks progress behind a ridiculous paywall. The conversion rates are insulting: asking for 20,000 Season Coins for a mere 60 Tune Coins is a joke when upgrades cost **** top of that, the game has become technically unstable on PS5 and Xbox, with constant server disconnections and crashes. They turned a fun racing game into a frustrating 'Adventure Road' full of pay-walls, even for those who already paid for the premium passes.Developers are killing the community's trust. Do not spend a cent until they bring back a fair progression system. Truly a heartbreak for Disney fans.

Let’s not forget who Disney really is.They are the company that ruined Star Wars and then had the audacity to say:“Don’t care about the Sequels. Don’t care about the Prequels.”Anakin’s cycle, Anakin’s story, started in Episode I and ended in Episode VI.That’s it. That’s the arc. Then Disney said: “Hmmmm… we don’t really care about that,”brought back Palpatine, and completely destroyed Anakin’s legacy.Personally, I treat those as different universes. They don’t exist.Just like The Last of Us Part II.Disney is also the company that made a Snow White movie even though Walt Disney himself said: do anything, just don’t make a Snow White movie.Disney’s response?“We in it for the money, lesss gooo.”And they delivered a horrible **** don’t forget this:Star Wars has ONLY 6 episodes.About the game:If you want your favorite character, you’ll most likely have to pay.Unlocking characters naturally is very slow and difficult.Other than that, it’s basically a Mario Kart–style Disney racing **** modes are good, there are many characters, and the gameplay itself is **** game works because it’s ****’s a good free-to-play game, especially to play with family.

Disney Speedstorm establishes a very interesting, fun and promising structural base. If it is not a revolution in the genre, it knows how to rely on the rich universe of Mickey's house IPs and does so in a pleasant, immersive and seductive way, leaving to be seen whether, in the near future, the business model adopted here will be adequate (or not) for the platform and audience to which it is dedicated.

Speedstorm has truly conveyed the Disney-Pixar essence into a videogame. Good first season, even though the progress in game and the rewards system lack that Disney magic.

You can complain about the F2P mechanics, sure, but the actual gameplay slaps. Blows Mario Kart out of the water.

Disney Speedstorm, even in its early access form, is shaping up to be a great kart racer that can shape up to other top-tier titles within the genre. With plenty of challenges, racers, and modes to try out and unlock, completionists out there have a multitude of reasons to hop into the game again and again while burning rubber as your favourite Disney or Pixar character. While the sheer amount of quests and challenges to complete can get overwhelming at times, personally, I can't wait to see what Disney Speedstorm has in store for us - and I'll be right there at the finish line cheering them on.

Disney Speedstorm is a fun game that we're glad to see has quite a bit of quality to it. There are some reservations about how well the free-to-play monetisation will work as we move forward, but looking just at the game itself, it’s not a bad time. There is room for this title to become very popular, especially if the right additions are made. At the very least, this can become a fun game for friends. If you're a Disney fan, it's a good way to mash together some of your favorite old movies and battle it out on the racetrack.

This is soulless, unimaginative and stupid in its design and just a way for Gameloft and Disney to try to make a quick buck on an ever-growing sub-genre.

This game, given you put in the effort to learn it, will blow you away. It's incredible and EASILY the best kart racer on modern consoles! ABSOLUTELY don't sleep on this! It does a lot of uniue and original stuff to make it different from Mario Kart and better imo! Seriosuly. The fact it's a live game means itll get better with time etc. So more and more content! Great stuff!

As Gatcha games go it isn't that intrusive and I haven't given up on it yet cause I have reached that free to play barrier that most Gatchas games have, but I will say this the limited tracks are hurting my enjoyment. It looks nice and even when there are a lot of cars around me you don't lose too many frames. That being said the online component is a struggle. Some matchmaking is insanely bad (I was level 5 having people 10 levels higher) and sometimes it does struggle to find enough players to make a match, but overall if you are a fan of Kart Racers and/or Disney you could do worse than this game. I am enjoying **** now!

Gameplayis smooth and great. Unique character abilities make fun and give you will to go and collect different characters
Character and level design is everything you can ask for. It can be seen that developers looked up to genre greats as CTR and Mario Kart. Presentation and music are top notch. Micro transactions are the only problem, but at least with ranked play you can earn enough coins for season pass. Without that possibility it would be unfair and would destroy the game itself. So long as the battle pass is achivable this way, the fan base will be there.

Feels pretty slow, the main boosting mechanics feel boring and non engaging.
Never mind the fact that unlocking characters is almost impossible if you don’t pay for them.

Nice graphics, Disney/Pixar heroes, but terrible matchmaking. Lvl 7 joins lvl 25+...gangbang like hell. Disbalance of characters, Wazowski very OP atm. Even for 2nd or 3rd place yr points r repeatedely deduced because of few players and game fills up the match with bots. F2P (P2W) style stinks from every corner, like by Gameloft's Asphalt. Millions of various shards for leveling yr heroes, daily and weekly events which you must to complete. You gonna love it for awhile like all F2Ps. And then you reach the "point of stuck". You cant progress at all and you begin to hate it. You have to w8 for new golden pass challlenges or (I bet it will be there in full game) pay for upgrades directly... Plus poor technical state. 5 crashes per 2 hrs on PS5 is nothing rare.
SummaryDrift into the ultimate hero-based combat racing game, set on high-speed circuits inspired by Disney and Pixar worlds. Master each character's unique skills on the racetrack and claim victory in this thrilling arcade racing experience from the creators of the Asphalt series! DISNEY & PIXAR GO FULL BATTLE RACING
