Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection brings the complete Diablo IV experience to Switch 2, including the base game and both expansions. It is a substantial package with plenty of content for newcomers, while cross-progression makes it easy to continue playing across different platforms. The Switch 2 version runs well and offers a choice between 30fps Quality and 40fps Performance modes, though the lack of 60fps and always-online requirement are notable drawbacks. Overall, it is a solid way to experience the current version of Diablo IV on a handheld.

What's It Like?
The Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection is an exceptional package and a technically impressive port that has sunk its claws into me. The ever-escalating campaign across three stories, the open-world design, and the sublime endgame all come together to create a fantastic experience on the Switch 2. I was so impressed by just how well Diablo IV fits the Switch 2… The game is built around short bursts of combat, constant progression and the ever-present temptation of just one more dungeon for that one piece of loot. It feels almost tailor-made for a portable system, making the online requirement all the more frustrating. For longtime Diablo fans, this is a substantial package that brings together years of content into one enormous adventure. For newcomers, it offers an incredibly deep action RPG with enough content to potentially keep you playing for hundreds of hours. After spending so much time in Sanctuary, I can safely say that Hell has found a surprisingly comfortable home on Switch 2.

I think this runs great on Switch. Honestly better than I expectet, runs smooth even at 30fps but can change to performance 40fps if that more up your ally. Basically D4 on the go.

I bought Diablo IV as a husband when it first released, and now enjoy it as a father on the new Switch2 version. For casual players like me, this is a dream come true. Is it the best Hack & Slay out there? Probably not! But the unsinkable Diablo formula still works and on Switch it finds its natural habitat for every dad and mum out there who only has 20-30 minutes for a quick dungeon… or an evening on the couch with no power to get up and sit up right at a desktop PC. For everyone who once enjoyed a Diablo game and owns a Switch: this is a must buy!

Diablo 4 arrives on the Nintendo Switch 2 as yet another superb port—both technically and visually—but it fails to reach its full potential by requiring a constant online connection, which is baffling for a console with a portable mode. And, despite having been available on other consoles for three years, it’s launching at a high price, with no option to purchase just the base game.

Diablo IV on Switch 2, via the Age of Hatred Collection, is a competent port despite significant concessions. While it offers the full content parity with other platforms, visual quality and performance are notably reduced, with limited resolution, low-quality textures, and a capped 40 FPS, often dipping below 30 FPS in busy scenes. The portable mode is where it shines, masking some graphical limitations, but the mandatory online connection and lack of an offline mode severely restrict its portability. Battery life is also a concern.

Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection is a huge pile of hack-and-slash RPG fun, whether you go it alone or venture forth in a group. With the base game and two meaty expansions’ worth of Sanctuary to explore, this game will keep you busy for dozens of hours. If you really fall into the deep end of keeping up with the seasonal content, you could easily get hundreds of hours out of it. This port makes some sensible compromises to offer a rather playable experience in both docked and handheld play. It’s just a shame that you’ll have to spend all of those in the vicinity of an internet connection. That online requirement is a real buzzkill, and it takes away one of the main reasons a person might want to play it on this console. Still great, just with some caveats to consider.

Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection is a successful port, especially in handheld mode, where graphical compromises matter far less and the experience remains thoroughly enjoyable. The package is incredibly rich thanks to the inclusion of both expansions, though occasional performance dips and the mandatory internet connection slightly limit its portability.

This collection takes us on a journey filled with destruction, demons, and intense farming, with a very well-executed port that still has room for improvement, potentially reaching the same level as on other consoles. However, it still has a way to go, as it suffers from FPS drops and a resolution that is not ideal for this type of game. Being able to enjoy the entire adventure anywhere, along with whatever may arrive in the future, is a plus, as long as we have a mandatory internet connection. This could be convenient at home, but not so much when traveling.

Performance mode on handheld definitely needs a graphical update. The screen is so blurry that it's unpleasant to look at. Plus, there are noticeable frame drops in areas crowded with players or monsters. It's a bit of a disappointing port.
