Destiny 2: Beyond Light is worth the investment for existing fans of the genre and franchise. Otherwise, the best way to experience this expansion is through Game Pass on Xbox or PC.

Beyond Light is approaching the quality of both Forsaken and The Taken King.

Beyond Light is the first note in a dirge for Destiny 2, and major steps need to be taken by Bungie to fix the issues caused by sunsetting and content vaulting. But regardless of what Bungie’s next steps are at this point, it’s difficult to feel excitement for any future expansions given the direction Destiny 2 is headed in.

It was ok DLC. Not bad, not great, just ok. Stasis was great and it was first darkness subclass. Raid was also cool but Lullaby and jumping thru space was so dam epic. Great memories.

this expansion almost killed the game bad campaign broken abilities horrible meta bad seasons and worst of all SUNSETTING there goes my 120$ and all I got was a good raid and nothing else this was the only expansion to make me quit the game for a year + Straight nothing worked and nothing mattered bugs everywhere and glitches galore they even brought back trials of Osiris during the worst meta cheaters started playing destiny a lot more and both PvE and PVP became unplayable all year round this is my least favourite expansion it would've been better if we got nothing instead

*Beyond Light* is one of the most ambitious expansions for *Destiny 2*, introducing Stasis as a new elemental power and a range of content that transforms and expands gameplay. The story unfolds on Europa, an icy moon of Jupiter, where Guardians confront Eramis, a Fallen leader attempting to harness the power of Stasis to oppose the Traveler. The narrative delves into themes of power and corruption, with a deeper and darker tone compared to previous expansions.Europa is a vast, richly detailed map, featuring a cold and desolate landscape with dynamic snowstorms that enhance realism and immersion. The map is packed with secrets, side missions, and activities, making exploration highly engaging. *Beyond Light* also introduces the Stasis power, a new subclass that allows players to manipulate ice, freezing and **** enemies. Stasis is one of the most impactful additions to *Destiny 2*’s gameplay, providing new mechanics and strategies that change dynamics in both PvE and PvP, though it initially presented balance **** expansion includes a new raid, *Deep Stone Crypt*, set on Europa and celebrated for its innovative design and challenging team mechanics. The raid is a memorable experience that demands coordination and skill, featuring unique bosses and intense encounters, cementing *Deep Stone Crypt* as one of the series’ most praised **** addition to new content, *Beyond Light* introduces the *Vaulting* system, a controversial decision that saw Bungie remove certain areas and activities from the game to make room for new experiences and future content. While this move sparked debate among players, it allowed the game to become more streamlined and focused on recent **** essence, *Beyond Light* offers a rich new chapter for *Destiny 2*, with fresh gameplay mechanics, a compelling setting, and a refined game structure that opens the door to future expansions and stories.

Beyond Light is an incredibly strong reminder that what Bungie has been delivering to Destiny is more than an expansion-a-year live service game, but an ever-evolving, grim dark world filled with rich lore, nuanced characters, and questions yet unanswered. While the plot has a mix of missed (or purposefully delayed) opportunities with developing some characters while creating some powerful, gut-wrenchingly emotional moments with others.

One of Destiny 2’s best expansions thus far, providing an assured roadmap for the series to move into. It is just more Destiny though.

To start well over %60 of all content was deleted, but the campaign was good experience as it allowed for the use of darkness. I will say it did have its downsides as it was a bit **** to finish but that's barely a negative as you gained XP and light to prep for the raid. Speaking of the raid no DLC is set in stone until the raid has come out and just like shadowkeep this was what I defined as the endpoint of the DLC as leveling was difficult and the raid was harder, but the rewards were perfect as the raid wrapped up beyond light and gave us more insight on what was to c9me.

Ignore any review prior to December 2020. Beyond Light is a perfect Destiny expansion, it has all you could possibly ask for. People have review bombed this expansion because they're pissbabies upset about developmental choices for the game at large. Not because any of the content in this expansion is bad, because none of it is. Beyond Light has the best story experience in Destiny, one of the best raids ever released in the series, an amazing new destination chock-full of ongoing developments and secrets to uncover, and finally a supreme selection of Exotic weapons and armor that every player will find enjoyment from. Easily the 2nd best Destiny release period, and considering it's predecessors that's no small feat. Don't skip the lore or you're illiterate and I'll make fun of you online.

Beyond Light is a fun campaign on a beautiful and expansive new world, but Destiny 2 is still some way from being the best version of itself.

Destiny is still a great game, with an almost unmatched gunplay, but it feels like this expansion takes more than it gives. Only recommended for hardcore fans of the game.

Post-sunsetting and content vaulting, Destiny 2: Beyond Light had some big expectations to meet. Instead, it plays things safe, delivering a boring main campaign, the usual Power grind and routine busywork to keep players engaged. Even with some interesting story bits, strong art direction and a fun raid, it's hard to recommend for both new players and die-hard fans.

Beyond Light fails at pushing Destiny 2 in a good direction. It's lacking in countless ways, from the campaign to the seasonal content, and it doesn't give you nearly enough for the price. Even the most hardcore Destiny fans will probably find plenty to dislike here, and casual players should skip this without a second thought.

The replayability is lackluster especially because they cut so much from the game in the process of adding this DLC. Here's hoping it actually gets replaced over time. Granted it was content few people even wanted to play... it's still like removing tons of furniture from a room and now it just feels empty. The endgame content is more or less a joke. People were quick to celebrate the Raid as being one of the best while infact it's just a bunch of really good set pieces with theoretically some good encounters that instead are just annoying instant-death mechanics with no real danger or skill requirement. The final boss of the raid is honestly a joke... of all things they could do and even hinted at... they did what they did. It's a travesty because it marks just how creatively bankrupt some of the people at Bungie are. The raid is already boring after 3 weeks and this is going to be the only new endgame content until they reintroduce a Destiny1 raid sometime next year. It's no shock that the playerbase has already fallen back down to Pre-DLC numbers. PvP is a travesty. Probably the worst PvP I've ever played in any game. The new abilities create some interesting options on paper but in reality exasperate existing issues while creating all new ones. Such as the Matchmaking. Never before have I seen such a mess where almost every single game is a lopsided joke round. Or how the lag can randomly make your shots do nothing or even an enemy lag teleporting around with virtual impunity. I just cannot recommend Destiny2 anymore.

Who ever at Bungie wrote Stasis into the Darkness lore needs to be fired immediately. Something like a Shadow spec would have been much better than the rubbish they put out in Beyond Light.

You are paying more to get less. 'The slow but steady removal of contents' is now the grand trend of Destiny 2. I cannot quite comprehend the reason why; to add little or no new contents is one thing, nevertheless to delete already existing contents is something a rational mind cannot possibly understand. Yes of course, Bungie, the developers, came up with all the fancy excuses. Unfortunately, I doubt those hallow words truly convinced anyone. They were pathetic. Don't get me wrong. I like this game. I played a lot, and still playing to some extent. However with every patch, with every new season and expansion, Bungie somehow managed to make it worse every time. It showed their utter lack of understanding of the game. I genuinely wonder if the developers have actually ever played their game. Don't even get me started on the bloody 'Sunsetting'. The recent outrage has been sparked by Bungie's preposterous greed. I personally don't mind micro-transactions on items which do not affect the actual game play, such as aesthetic related items. However it does become an obvious problem if micro-transaction is the only 'contents' the developers are dedicated for. Minimal new contents. Re-used contents. Deleted contents. Glitches and bugs left out for eternity. Yet, more and more new items added on the micro-transaction section. Destiny 2 is slowly dying. It is still possible to revive it, however based on what we have observed so far, I would say to have any degree of hope is simply too much of an optimism. The 'Activision era' was far better, superior. This pretty much sums up the current state of the game.
SummaryThe frontier of Europa holds many lost secrets from the past, including the dark power of Stasis. Work with the mysterious Exo Stranger to harness this new power before Eramis, the Kell of Darkness, bestows it on her Fallen forces. Grow your arsenal, command Stasis, and go beyond the Light.
