A fun, wild waste of time that doesn't really live up to its predecessors.
Get ready for a new generation of zombie-slaying thrills where there's only minimal gameplay to get in the way of the thrills!

Out of all the Xbox One launch titles Dead Rising 3 is definitely the most entertaining. There's no denying that mowing down crowded streets full of zombies isn't a guilty pleasure. What Dead Rising 3 lacks, though, is next generation visuals. The game could easily pass as a fancy looking Xbox 360 title. [Feb 2014]

Dead Rising 3 is an engaging and highly entertaining game that affords players considerable freedom in dispatching zombies through creative and varied means. The gameplay is polished and effectively immerses players in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a zombie epidemic. Destroyed storefronts, military checkpoints, and relentless hordes of undead vividly populate the environment. Crafting mechanics have been notably refined since Dead Rising 2, enhancing the overall experience. I particularly appreciate the shift in tone from the lighter, more humorous predecessors to a graver atmosphere in this installment—a change underscored by the adrenaline-pumping music that intensifies upon approaching a zombie horde. However, the narrative falls short. The story is often illogical, featuring implausible actions, underdeveloped characters lacking intelligence and memorability, and a protagonist, Nick, who appears naively compliant and perpetually serene. While the plot holds some appeal, it is ultimately forgettable and could have benefited from greater depth and **** side missions are similarly repetitive and monotonous. For instance, a character requests assistance in retrieving figurines, yet their locations instantly appear on the map despite no prior indication—rendering Nick’s knowledge of them implausible. Moreover, approximately three-fifths of these quests involve fetching items for others.Notwithstanding these shortcomings, Dead Rising 3 remains a solid title that has aged gracefully and surpasses the regrettable fourth chapter.

Decent game, story is a pretty typical story for dead rising, the protag is meh as well, main reason I'm rating the game high is the humor, combat, customization, and just how **** fun this game is. Dead Rising still proves to be a massively fun game with an easy going combat system that isn't too punishing outside of boss battles.

If it’s a true “next-generation” game you’re after, look no further than Dead Rising 3. Capcom Vancouver’s gory, over-the-top zombie thriller is a technological masterpiece that amply showcases the power of Microsoft’s new Xbox One console. But more importantly, it’s also immensely and outrageously enjoyable.

The city of Los Perdidos is a bit too massive for its own good, but there is plenty to do and kill within its limits. And with an impressive next-gen presentation and endearingly spastic boss encounters, Dead Rising 3 is an easy recommendation to any new Xbox One owner.

Luckily, the game gets close to finding a happy medium between Dead Rising's signature weirdness and a slightly more traditional open-world format that makes this by far the most approachable game yet in the series.

Like a shuffling zombie with its eye on a hunk of meat, Capcom has stayed the path, offering a juiced-up Dead Rising experience that benefits from the next-gen hardware's added horsepower.

Los Perdidos certainly has its flaws – and so do some game design decisions that make this Zombie adventure feel more like Dynasty Warriors at times. But nonetheless it delivers undead splattering fun.

Dead Rising 3 excels at what it does best, which is mainly killing zombies in deeper ways as your undead-slaying skills grow over the game. And it’s smoother than ever to maximize that quality time of chainsawing a zombie in half. Yet the lack of combat annoyances only amplify the flaws of the writing and the lack of mission variety. Dead Rising is closer than ever to realizing its full potential, but its many mistakes make it clear that it isn’t quite there yet.

I love this game! It had the interesting Day One edition also. I always loved survival horror of Dead Rising 3 with all the zombies.

This is Dead Rising repackaged and ported to the Xbox One. As a launch exclusive it really doesn't do the console justice. No innovation, no changes, just a slightly darker version of the original game.
