Custom Robo Arena has few steps in the right direction, but it takes a few steps backwards. The customization is still top notch, leading to a lot of differing play styles. I like that the single player lets you have more than a few moments that let you practice throughout the game, helping you perfect your game play. It naturally takes a graphical downgrade going from the more powerful Game Cube to the DS, but that's to be expected. The translation leaves a bit to be desired, and I couldn't really remember much of the story or characters when it was all said and done, one of the biggest steps back between the previous game and this one. A lot of the character and personality has been stripped back in favour of a typical, low budget anime look. Combat... feels very clunky on a system that relies on D-Pad movement rather than a joystick. And some of the side quests are completely mundane, used to just pad the game. This game was unfortunately the death nail in a promising young franchise, with few redeeming qualities compared to a much superior first entry.

This game is fantastic, it has awesome gameplay, a ton of customisation and a long story. the wain selling point of this game howoever is the characters, as Liz is mai waifu. And she'll probably become yours too.
