Code Lyoko
Code Lyoko’s players are likely to be split in two: those who enjoy both portions of the game and those who only enjoy the 3D half. Regardless of your expected preference, this game is worth a look.
DS gamers looking for a fresh take on narrative and storytelling should definitely give this game a look, but be warned it is very text heavy. The blend of the two genres is a mixed bag.
So what did it need besides a miracle? Depth. Lots of depth.

Help I am stuck in this game it’s not a fictional narrative it’s God’s truth I would do anything to feel the sensation of wind on my face one more time.

I really liked Code Lyoko as a kid, and when I discovered it had a game for the ds I got that thing INSTANTLY. The game is good for the people that have seen the show, and I kinda like the 2d graphics on the normal world and the switch to 3d on Lyoko. The only reason I'm not giving it a 10 is because the controls sometimes felt... wonky. And sometimes the game got a bit confusing for me as a kid to try and proceed, be it either a "puzzle" to call them something or the time Yumi fights those 2 "bosses" by herself at the same time at basically the end of the game. If you liked Code Lyoko you could probably enjoy it if you somehow get your hands on the game.

Overall, Code Lyoko is one of the better cartoon-based games I've played lately.

Code Lyoko might not be the longest game you'll ever play, but if you've got a child or teen who is interested in the series, they might find some longevity in the title.

The action is smooth, but in this advanced age of 3D gaming there's no excuse for not being able to fight and move at the same time. [Aug 2007, p.88]

Cheat Code Central
As a game, Code Lyoko really nails the fact that it emanates from a cartoon. It remains true to its heritage with sound effects, the soundtrack, cutscenes, and storylines taken directly from the series. Some of the animation is a little stiff, and the text can be a little heady, but fans of the series will enjoy being able to participate in the same action and adventure as their cartoon heroes.

Younger fans of the show will likely enjoy watching the story gradually unfold as they constantly use the characters' superpowers to fight monsters in Lyoko's virtual world. However, the game's sluggish pace, repetitive combat, and straightforward puzzles guarantee that older or experienced players will lose interest long before the story reaches its conclusion.
