Carcassonne (2010)
It's a real pleasure to see an iPhone game that is well-crafted, that uses music and sound to create a distinct atmosphere and that plays as well offline as it does online. If Carcassonne is your first foray into Euro-gaming, you're sure to want more.
Despite only being published a decade ago, Carcassonne has all the hallmarks of a classic board-game and grabbing a version to play on the go is a boon that no one should miss.
This game should stand as a shining example to all other developers as to how a board game should be properly structured for the iPhone. Intuitive controls, numerous AI opponents for varying difficulty, online multiplayer, local network play, pass-and-play multiplayer, a comprehensive tutorial, and a top-notch presentation make this a mandatory purchase if you own an iPhone.

This is still great on iPhone 8. Looks beautiful at all zoom levels. Variety of expansions. Online multiplayer is great. ELO ranking system is smart. Friend play is possibly better as you can take turns over a long period; 'random async' would be nice but quality throughout is such that it deserves top marks. The top down view works well; doesn't try to be clever with needless animations. I don't really play the solitaire mode much but it's a nice extra. I much prefer this iOS version to the XBox, Android and Switch versions.

This is the perfect board game port. The ai is great. The ui is great. The game pace is great. The multiple "personalities" of the ai give the human feeling to the play. A jewel in appstore.

Incredible longevity, heaps of variants for single or multiplayer, the functionality is perfect - it is a game designed for the iPad/iPhone: Carcassonne justifies the price and so much fun.

Carcassonne isn't a difficult game to grasp, but it does have an extraordinary amount of depth.

Carcassonne is an excellent board game in real-life. The iPhone edition is a great way to take it on the go without having to lug around a board and pieces.
