Two Good 90’s Games Though the bobcat completely collapsed in 1996 with Bubsy 3D, The 1993 original and it’s 1994 sequel are actually not that bad at all.

Bubsy Two-Fur, as the name implies, includes two classic Bubsy games, Bubsy: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind, and Bubsy II. (I think both were ported from the SNES versions.) Bubsy: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind was the first game in the Bubsy series, and arguably the best in the series besides Paws on Fire. A lot of the biggest complaints about this game are really easy to overcome. My biggest complaint is enemy placement and the one-hit kill system. However, Bubsy Two-Fur builds in a Save State system, which makes this a lot easier to deal with, and as long as you aren't easily angered by dying a lot, it's worth giving a chance. Bubsy II fixes some of the issues with Bubsy: Claws Encounters, including adding a couple weapons and a 3 hit life system, and has all of the improvements Bubsy: Two-Fur's emulation system includes as well. However, the level design is a little funky and mazelike, and makes it (for me at least) less fun overall than Bubsy: Claws Encounters. For both games, if you try to play them like Sonic clones, you will die and you won't have fun. Speed is in some ways your enemy, and the enemy placement and falling damage make it where it's probably best to play more like a stealth precision platformer than a speedrun. The controls are a little odd, but fairly simple and fun when it comes to it if you play around with it for a while. The glide move is incredibly helpful. Mastering it is largely key to playing well, allowing you to fall slower and both avoid falling damage and safely avoid more obstacles and kill more enemies. There's also another higher jump that will be needed in some areas but leaves you more vulnerable. The music in Bubsy: Claws Encounters is pretty good, and in both games, there's a really cool cartoony aesthetic that contrasts the "cool" vibe of a lot of similar platformers. And if your fear is Bubsy will talk too much and annoy you, you'll be happy to know in both games that Bubsy only really talks at level title screens, with little quips that are just enough to make you chuckle and not so much to make you annoyed. Overall, for the price, I'd say it's definitely worth getting. Despite the memes and the flaws, Bubsy was probably one of the better, more unique Sonic-esque platformers of the 90s, and Bubsy Two-Fur really helps address issues like frequent deaths from bad enemy placement with the save state system, making it a fun, lighthearted experience. It's pretty cheap, and it's fun. Might as well get it! After all, what could possibly go wrong?

This re-release of the infamous bobcat's original releases is faithful to the originals, which are underrated and overhated as is. Great artstyle and soundtrack, not surprising.

My favorite game series of all time. I honestly think this is a perfect game; I can't find a single fault with it. I love this game more than anything in the world. But enough talk about my love for this game; let me explain why I love it so much (but not without mentioning my 50 Bubsy t-shirts, my Bubsy wallpaper, my Bubsy slippers, my Bubsy birthday parties with Bubsy themed cakes, or my Bubsy socks. Or my Bubsy themed house, which is shaped like Bubsy and has a Bubsy themed door, Bubsy themed windows and Bubsy themed furniture. I make sure all the food I eat is cut in the shape of Bubsy's face, and I pray my life size Bubsy figure every night.). My journey with this beautiful bobcat began on 1993. I was 15 years old, and I was a big Sonic fan. But whenever I played Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the 100th times, I started to want something more. But on that fateful day, Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind was released. When I first got it on my birthday, something drew me too it immediately. I couldn't tell you if it was the red exclamation point on his shirt or his cheeky grin, but I knew I had found something great. I immediately put the cartridge in my Sega Genesis, and began to experience a game that would change my life forever. It was like Sonic, but on a whole new level of greatness. The combination of extreme speeds with a zoomed in screen makes every move a challenge. The fall damage adds a whole new level of challenge, and everything is out to kill you, from cars to the diabolical woolys. However, Bubsy is with you the whole way through, with his ingenious and delightful humor that always keeps you laughing. When I finished the game, I was in awe. I thought nothing could ever top this masterpiece. But I was wrong. When I heard word of a Bubsy sequel, I was nervous, but excited. Finally, on 1994, it was released, and my expectations were blown away yet again. It was the original game but more, with a new hub world and epic Nerf gun levels. From then on, I dedicated my life to Bubsy, and played every one of his games. But despite Bubsy meeting my expectations and more, I couldn't prepare myself for the godlike quality of Bubsy 3D Furbitten Planet. It was better than anything I had and ever will experience. It fixed many problems other 3D platformers had at the time, specifically, the camera. The graphics were also mind blowing, and have aged beautifully. Bubsy is as amazing as ever, with hilarious things to say at every turn. They also added water levels, which were revolutionary. It is to this day my favorite game of all time. Howver, despite my love for Bubsy, many others have not been at enthusiastic, with his games receiving very negative reviews. Disgusting. My perception of the world changed forever when I first saw what people thought of this masterpiece. I hope you read this review and realize how beautiful Bubsy is, and how you still have a chance of joining him and achieving salvation.

its a great idea and some game mechanics are great, but it has a problem with the speed of Bubsy. When you go forwards you almost immediately speed up to lightning speeds. the screen is to zoomed in so you cant see what is in front of you, and then you will die for sure. the hit detection is a bit messy, but i wont get into that. overall the game is a fine experience. nowhere near a masterpiece but it can be an enjoyable experience

This is a fine compilation of the two mediocore classics. The two games aren't the best, but with the POWER OF STEAM newer gamers can discover these games. I belive they can be viewed in HD video, and if you fancy it, you can plug in your own USB controller and play! There are up to 9 save states you can save to, and you can pause the emulation when you want. The only reason I'm giving this a 6 is, like I said, the games aren't very good...

Not the worst platformer ever. Bubsy should have never been on the pc. It should have been left alone. I would play the snes and genesis bubsy 2 versions than this one.
