The Inquisitor4

I'm going to give it a 4 to not affect too much the final average, but bro, this is barely a 1. The facial animations are laughable, but i was decided to give it a try nonetheless. When I entered the city, I couldn't believe the performance (barely 45 frames with a 4070Ti). With this credentials, I don't care about the game. This is not even "****'s a complete joke.

I'm not even going to try to write a review about this game. Review that you are not likely going to read in a sea of positive reviews :D. I'm just going to say this is Larian, what Bioware and other mythic studios used to be before being bought by greedy companies. That this game is made with love and passion, and that 20 years into the future, it will still be considered as a reference. Buy it.

What to say...First, in the year of bad ports and bad optimized games, this one is technically PERFECT. Graphically minimalistic, yet wonderful, and well ****, for once, you can throw the obnoxious TAA and DLSS trhu the window and play in a GLORIOUS MSAA 4x (up to 8x if u want) for an exceptional image quality. About the gameplay, the game starts almost as a walking simulator but it builds up to a quite challenging puzzles. The idea is absolutely original and perfectly executed. This skyrockets the game to the olympus of the best puzzle games of the last decade, along with Portal, Thalos Principle, The Entropy center and Superliminal. Buy it.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series2
Jul 31, 2023
I'm going to give it a 2 because I haven't really played. I thought Telltale were ex Lucasarts and expected some quality. I always say that first impressions matter in a game, and here they couldn't be worse: the mouse controls are broken, to the point it's almost unplayable. The waypoints are super distracting because they float all over the screen and don't really point to the place you need to go. The cutscenes can't be skipped, and after 20 mins of gameplay, the saves are nowhere to be found. On a personal note, the voice acting is bad, not because the acting itself, but because all voices sound awful. The main character voice has personality, but after 10 mins it's tiresome to hear.

People don't recognize a good game even in front of their eyes and prefer to play things like A plague tale that barely runs at 30 frames without DLSS. Starting with the menus (perfectly clear, and with options for FoV and turn TAA off and compatible with Widescreen) to the optimization (runs perfect without DLSS in a RTX 3070 but with a 10 years old CPU like a 5820K) this game is the sleeper of 2022. Interesting plot and characters, good level design, on point combat (not Elden Ring but it does the job), Silent Hill vibes...whatever you name it you have it here. My only small complaint are facial animations, wich feel a little bit awkward at times.

Mirror Forge3

Technically atrocious, like 90% of horror adventure indie games are. After spending 20 mins in the menus (because if you select 21:9 res everything gets out of place) until I discovered that if you alt+f4 you can load the game again and play it in your native resolution, I start a new game and it gets stuck on loading. Ok, let's be patient, a few tries more, and finally it loads. The character appears in his bedroom and, well, the number of issues and design choices are awful: narrow fov, mouse lag, mouse acceleration, forced TAA (maybe you can disable via .ini) and an enormous amount of motion blur even with post processing in "low" and bad performance.

Literally played 1 min. Obnoxious camera motion blur and temporal antialiasing. Blurriness all around. Lack of graphic options. Mouse at zero sensibility is like 10.000 DPI >.

It's that kind of adventure game where you'll get stuck at some point 100% because it's tough on the puzzle side, but it definitely has something. Special mention to the level design, wich is top, gameplay-wise. Kept me hooked until the end.

Installed the game. Surprisingly it has hardcoded TAA, most **** decision ever, considering it's CDPR. It's obvious that they did not optimized the game, because it only runs ok in 3000 series. At the same time, this GPUs are made for 4K gaming, wich absolutely destroys the necessity of ANY KIND of AA method. Blurfest, uninstalled. And as long as I've seen in YT, bugfest too. I'm sorry but I will continue giving zeroes to all devs that take **** decisions.

Amnesia: Rebirth5
Oct 31, 2020
I'm not an Amnesia expert, but I loved SOMA. I've heard that this game is not purely from Frictional, there's been an outsorcing of another developer to some extent...Anyway idk, but I would catalogue this game as annoying. The "corruption" mechanics are not explained, and are not very logic (it can kill you randomly after 20 mins of walking into corrupted area). Said corruption has a very annoying effect on your sight (plus a camera movement that's very dizzy, and a super annoying sound lol). Lamp doesn't last a shiet. Maps are forgettable and very confusing, specially when u arrive at this kind of Citadel. Plot and characters never caught my eye (I can't really judge this, as I stopped playing after 2 hours or so).

Ok folks, let's keep it straight: Graphics: game should run at least 3x of the actual framerate, so NO, you are wrong about this aspect Storyline: a deep, profound "meh"..20 mins riding and chitchatting **** things is not fun. Anyway, it's a matter of tastes, thats why my score is a "1". Dan Houser thinks he is Tarantino and it's boring as hell. Controls: well...I'm only going to say that a first week student of Unity private academy (3.000 € / year) would code it better....
