Gothic 1 Remake

I haven't played the original Gothic. But playing this takes me back at least 15 years - the design is just so 2000s and I love everything about it. I haven't had so much fun in a long long time. The progression from a nobody dying to a molerat or getting pushed over by every bully in the colony to a hero who can one-hit those previous bullies is just so satisfying. The only issue with the game is the lockpicking system - it is simply not fun, wastes too much time and a failed experiment in my opinion. It takes several minutes even with a guide - so it's definitely severely overtuned. Now i really really hope we get Gothic 2 Remake!

As the original FF7 is my favorite game of all time, this remake project could have went really badly in my eyes. But my oh my has SE delivered. These 2 games are everything I could have hoped for and more. Rebirth just radiates love to the franchise - it really feels like the devs had fun making this. The world is so well remade - I never expected the Planet to look so good and be so big. The characters are very likable and fun to play with throughout the whole game. And the music definitely deserved all these awards. The combat in my opinion is the definitive version of Final Fantasy combat - if it were up to me - all Final Fantasy games in the future would use this template. It is a perfect synthesis of more modern action and classic turn based actions/magic. The only wish I have for the 3rd part is for Chadley to take a bit more of a backseat in world exploration and rewards. I'm hoping for dungeons or more bosses which would give us powerful materia and rewards. The current model of getting them from Chadley is a bit underwhelming - so this would be a good change and more immersive for the world.

Really loving the game. It's nice that it's not fully open world but has these big zones - this way it feels more immersive at least for me, because I'm just burnt out from all these empty open world games. But here I feel like something interesting lurks around every corner - which is such a refresher (maybe even reminds me a bit of the feeling I had in Elden Ring - although the games are very different of course). Even the side-quests felt impactful and interesting - a feat which games nowadays rarely achieve. And thank you Obsidian for FINALLY giving us a third person mode! I just couldn't get into Outer Worlds because it was 1st person only (well and because the world(s) did not feel very interesting - a problem which Avowed does not have because Eora is an amazing world with lore established in Pillars). The only reason I cannot give a 10 is because the game sometimes crashes for me - it's not very often, but still happens around every ~3-4 hours. Hope Obsidian manages to sort this out.

A true old-school shooter - reminded me of my favorite childhood games. The atmosphere strongly channels a gothic creepy style similar to Nightmare Before Christmas (or any other Tim Burton projects in fact). Tried it on both PC and Steam Deck - plays really well on both (although it was a bit difficult to aim for me with the sniper weapon on Steam Deck - but you can change it to other weapons if you wish so no issue there). Definitely recommend - especially for this season.

Still can't believe how far these companies are willing to go. The game is so insanely predatory it's getting ridiculous. I really hope that one day politicians will finally catch on what's going on in the gaming industry and ban all kinds of microtransactions outright. Let it all burn for all I care - gaming should return to the humble roots it started anyway.

This is the peak of remasters - exactly what everyone could ever hope for. Not going to let the hate for Blizzard change my opinion - the team who worked on this deserves a 10.

This was one of the most fun gaming experiences I have had in years. The combat was simply silk smooth and very enjoyable - did not even think of running from any battles because they were just that fun. I even went as far as to get the Ultima Weapon and defeat the secret bosses (tornado Gummi boss including...gosh that was long) which I did not do with previous titles. The worlds were gorgeous and the maps were highly enjoyable (no open-world - thank God - got tired of those kind of games) The only real problem with KH3 is the pacing of the story. They definitely kept too much of the main plot at a standstill until the very end - it felt as almost NOTHING at all happened until you finish the last Disney world. The Disney worlds were fun and all, but they should have continued with the main plot at least a bit after every world or two. Also the very point of going to these worlds was kind **** simple. There was no clear reason to do it - a mistake which was not so prominently made in the previous mainline titles. So because of all of this - most of the game up until the finale felt like a bit of a filler (which again - I did not feel as much in the previous titles even though there always was some filler). But even with this kind of a big negative I can't give the game any lower than 8.5 just because it kept me glued to the screen until the very end (and even after) - which most games nowadays are not able to do.

I don't even want to begin to understand how can people say this was a waste of time Bioware gave the players what they wanted (i'm not talking about the ending it's been a year get over it) the last emotional ride with probably one of the best cast of characters in gaming history. It took me about 5-6 hours (definitely not 2 hours) to complete not skipping anything (because this DLC is mainly about dialogues and interactions with characters and the new story is just a small part). I will admit that the new story was a bit odd, but it was still really enjoyable. And as I said it is not the main point of this DLC. Also I really liked the fact that it served as a comic relief to the dark ME3 storyline. All in all, if people didn't relate to the characters of the franchise then this DLC is definitely not for them (and to be blunt Mass Effect itself is not for them). In my opinion this DLC is a perfect finale to the Mass Effect trilogy that provides real closure for all the characters.
