Men in Black II5
Sep 20, 2011
Definitely not as good as the original, but it is a sequel, so such is expected. Still has some funny moments, and Jones once again delivers amazingly. Boyle, on the other hand, did a very poor job. Some of the fight choreography was just corny when compared to the original. The after effects of the neuralizer are altered a bit. Story isn't as neat as the first. All in all, it's enjoyable, but not lovable.

Men in Black10

I can't think of a single complaint I have about this movie. It's a great film that you can rewatch again and again. The casting choices were absolutely perfect, the special effects are dazzling (for their time), the story isn't hard to follow (but it's not too simple either), it's funny, and it's got great action sequences. A perfect action-comedy.

Minority Report5
Sep 17, 2011
Minority Report is thrilling and has some great special effects, but the entire plot is impossible--and I don't mean the being able to see the future thing. If you really pay attention to the plot you'll see that even in a world where precogs exist, the plot would not be able to happen. Acting is good though, and it did leave me entertained for the first five times that I watched it. But this most recent watching was when I noticed the plot holes.

The Wedding Singer10
Sep 8, 2011
Amazing movie. It's touchy and funny. The quintessential romantic-comedy. And the soundtrack is amazing, too. I love 80's music so much, and they make some great choices. The two songs Sandler adds are pretty good as well.

You Don't Mess with the Zohan5
Sep 8, 2011
This movie is enjoyable, but to no great extent. It needed more over-the-top slapstick and less sex with old ladies. Not necessarily a waste of time, but not a movie you need to see.

A movie staring Sandler and Walken should be one of the funniest films ever. But this movie is such a downer. There are times when you actually want to cry. Normally if a movie evokes that strong of an emotional response, it's great, but this is supposed to be a comedy! Not a drama! The film does have funny moments early on, but most of them were in the trailer. If you want to cry though, go ahead and watch this movie.

Grandma's Boy7
Sep 8, 2011
A funny, enjoyable, and quotable movie. However it was rather lacking in story, and there were a few too many sex-jokes. It's also clearly a Hollywood movie because videogames are so poorly portrayed. Honestly, how many games have levels anymore? And since when does programming a videogame involve no code? If you can ignore that, and enjoy stoner-comedies, then you'll probably enjoy Grandma's Boy.

Gypsy 830
Sep 8, 2011
There's nothing in this movie to keep you watching. Almost every single character is unbelievable. Its far to melodramatic for whatever it's going for. Not worth your time unless you're into BBWs or guy-on-guy.

Rush Hour9
Sep 8, 2011
Possibly the best buddy-cop film ever, mostly because of the slightly over-the-top kung-fu antics of Chan. It's got the perfect balance of comedy, action, and suspense. The acting could be better though.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl9
Sep 8, 2011
A good movie all around. Good acting, good writing, great score, some really memorable quotes. Depp as Jack Sparrow should go down in film history as one of the greatest characters ever. There is something off about the final scene that I can't quite figure out, but that's my only real complaint.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail9
Sep 7, 2011
One of the funniest movies of all time. I guess if you don't like British humor, then you won't like it. Sooooo many memorable quotes. The only thing keeping it from a perfect 10 is the cheap ending.

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb8
Sep 7, 2011
This movie might be a little overrated by today's standards, but it is still very enjoyable. It has the perfect mixture of smart and idiotic humor. The writing is brilliant. The acting is amazing, especially that of Sellers. It really is a must see.

Crank0
Sep 7, 2011
Horrible. Absolutely horrible. I've seen amateur pornography with better writing and acting, and at least then I got to see more than a nipple slip. The fight scenes aren't even good.

Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi10
Sep 7, 2011
The best of the series (and an amazing series it is). This is the quintessential sci-fi/fantasy movie. I love everything about it. It's easily in my top 5 movies of all time.

Mallrats5
Sep 7, 2011
Mallrats is funny, but overall forgettable, save for two memorable quotes ("Would you like a chocolate covered pretzel?" and "Like the back of a Volkswagen?"). I seem to recall enjoying it, but I can't seem to pick out what I enjoyed about it. Still, it's worth a watch if you're into View Askewniverse.
Sep 7, 2011
Chasing Amy5
Sep 7, 2011
Chasing Amy is funny, but not hilarious. The story is decent. The ending is less than adequate. Joey Lauren Adams is a very annoying actresses, especially when she's yelling, which she does for at least a third of her lines. If they had cast somebody else in her role, the movie would've been much better.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back6
Sep 7, 2011
Out of all the View Askewniverse movies, this one is by far the worst as far as potty humor goes, but it's to be expected when the usually secondary characters of J&SB take lead roles. It is funny, but not as smart as I've come to expect from Smith after the likes of Dogma and Clerks. If you're into J&SB though, you'll at least like this movie.

Clerks II6
Sep 7, 2011
This one made me laugh harder than it's predecessor, but less often. I feel like the artistic vision of the first movie was lost for more of gross-out comedy. Like I said, it did make me laugh, and it was worth the watch, but it's what you should expect from a sequel of a classic.

Clerks7
Sep 7, 2011
Looking for a laugh till you cry comedy? Not gonna find it here. Looking for an in-depth plot? Not gonna find that either. Clerks has plenty of funny moments, but it's more likely to give chuckles than huge guffaws. It is very artistically done however, and it is very relatable. Definitely a comedy classic, though.

Burn After Reading5
Sep 7, 2011
This is the epitome of mediocre movies. After watching it I seriously could not decide if I liked it or not. The acting is great. It has some funny moments. There are some small twists that I seriously did not see coming. But the story is lackluster, as are most of the characters. While the plot is resolved at the end, you're kind of left feeling like the entire movie was a waste of time.

Capote1
Sep 7, 2011
Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a phenomenal actor and he does a great job with what he's given in this movie. That is the only redeeming quality. This movie isn't funny, suspensful, scary, dramatic, or anything like that. It has no action. It has almost no plot. It was so boring that after 50 minutes I had absolutely no reason to finish it. I suppose if you're a die-hard biopic fan, then you might get something out of this.

I put this movie in expecting to see an American Pie knock-off that I was going to hate. I was pleasantly surprised to find an amusing comedy with a very good point: our current system of higher entertainment ****. If you're one of those yuppies who supports college 100% and believe a future without it is impossible, pass this by. If your one of the people who got rejected from college, or went to college and realized how ridiculous it is, you'll love this movie.

Dogma10
Sep 7, 2011
My third favorite movie of all time. It's a refreshingly intelligent comedy that makes fun of religion without any atheistic agenda. I'm a Christian, and I didn't find this movie offensive at all (which actually suprised me). If your a Catholic on the other hand...watch with caution.

The Bourne Identity10
Sep 7, 2011
From start to finish, this is a great movie. It's got just the right amount of suspense, just the right amount of action, just the right amount of character development. I don't have a single complaint about this movie.
Sep 7, 2011
The Bourne Supremacy9
Sep 7, 2011
Not quite as intriguing as its predecessor or it's sequel, but still amazing. It does feel a bit more drawn out. Overall, however, it's well worth watching over and over.
Sep 7, 2011
The Bourne Ultimatum10
Sep 7, 2011
The rating slider appears to be broken, it won't go above ten. This is my second favorite movie ever. Nonstop action. Political intrigue. Jason bourne is a bada** throughout, but not in the over-the-top kung-fu movie kind of way. If you liked the first 2 movies you'll love this one. If you didn't like the first two, then you may want to see a psychologist ;).
Sep 7, 2011
The Princess Bride10
Sep 7, 2011
My fifth favorite movie of all time. It's got everything: romance, comedy, action, fantasy...There are some great laughs and oodles of memorable quotes. The only person who was less than perfect in this movie was the actress who played Buttercup. Other than that, an absolute classic.
Sep 7, 2011
The New Guy7
Sep 7, 2011
A loveable high school comedy. It's not the funniest movie in the world, but it does make you laugh. I'm a **** for good cameos, and this movie is chock full of them. My biggest complaint is the scene where the actors are miming to a funk song, and it shows the guitar pretend playing the bassline. Other than that, it is totally worth a watch.

Cloverfield6
Sep 7, 2011
Overall, this is a decently enjoyable movie. The biggest problems are the slow start (although it does make the movie more exciting when things do start happening) and the abrupt ending. It is too short, and there is no resolution (not that that's surprising in a JJ Abrams movie). However the action sequences are very well done, and it has a very real feel to it, mostly due to the often-criticized, purposefully shoddy camera work. Also, the easter egg at the end was pretty cool: see if you can catch it.
