Not many games from XXth century still feel great to play!! This is one. Difficulty increases just fine, game levels are their own tutorial, and it's so good being evil and torturing heros! Graphics... are from XXth century, but so much humour in this game! I

Very few novelties, AI dumber than ever, religion handled the worst possible way... A CIV V , only slightly different, but not for the better. Interface has been made really unfriendly compared to CIV V. The achievements needed to increase research speed are basically a "double punishment" when you don't have the right ressources from the strart. Really unbalanced. The musics are... like the game. Well chosen, but in a version that feels like the musicians were about to commit suicide.

I know everyone likes this game... But I couldn't even play with it. Sure I suffered a bit trying to understand what the hell I was to do. I cannot pretend I tried the game thoroughly, but still: - tutorial is a joke. It's so bugged I couldn't use it at all!!! - battles ****! - interface is among the worst ever, maybe because I'm on win7, but it hardly even works - difficulty seems quite stupidy high too. After a few days, I got attacked by 15000+ troops. I possess 2000 at a whole ==> didn't even want to go on trying. Maybe after a week of pain, I'd find it fantastic, but now it's just painful to play. However there are some features CA should be stealing for their total war games : full real time.

Good game, but there are some bad things.. AI is so stupid, handgun is more precise than sniper, good weapons arrive when the game is almost over. Many unskippable scenes...

This game series needs some work. They seem to try to do the same game over and over, and this one gets boring quickly. Not much to tell against it, it is clearly not bad, but it is not fun either. Hex & no stack is a good feature (for combat units, for others it is not), but otherwise, what changed since the first of the series? 6 is a bit harsh, but punishes the lack of improvements & the DLC politics.

This game came from another time. Even on release it was old. As a 2005 game would have been great. Still feels good to play. Best fit to retrogamers!!!!!!!!!!!

The levelling system is pure pain. Without this, I'd give 10 with no hesitation. So much freedom! Be the a$$hole who makes innovation in murder techniques and get good laughs.

Do you like micromanagement? You'll love it. Otherwise, run away! Some features of this game could be adapted to the other Civ, with success I think. This very game looks unfinished to me.

The radio is just the best soundtrack I ever heard. Main defaults: dumb police, disappearing cars and very very bad acrobatics. Otherwise, such a pleasure!

The game you want to play, that's it. You may regret the possibilities of a Oblivion, but the simplifications come with improvements in all regards, and are therefore easily forgived. I liked the custom spells though.

This game is mostly made of frustration. Frustration of having a game that could have been great, but made terribly bad by stupid new features. Frustration of having paid full price for a beta version, that was solded -50% before it was even reasonably working. To sum up: - limitation in armies number; therefore you can't leave a garrison, and this is made worse by the fact that armies walk a huge distance in a single turn, by the possibility the AI has to always refuse battles, by the possibility of taking a city within the turn. You simply chase flies (5 units armies) with hammers (full stacks), for the hammers cannot be splitted, the flies fly too fast to be hit, but can still take one of your cities; which you'll retake next turn while another city falls. So you get humbled by ridiculously bad armies because you can't fight them. - My elephants replenish within a few turns if I'm in Britain. The local elephants are known worldwide. - Navies are useless (so the joint battles feature has no use) - Battles are boring (but at least as of 09/2014, UI is correct, was not reasonnable before) - Politics are stupid & useless - "decisive event" : the worst ever. You get a rebellion... Like 12+ full stacks of high level veterans of the best units you can recruit (even if it was unlocked last turn and you don't possess any) appear out of thin air, while you possess 3 full stacks. Well the AI is so bad you can win if they did not appear in your capital, but... so ridiculous! - Bad AI, not nearly as good as the Shogun 2 AI Try Shogun2, especially FOTS instead. or Rome TW!

Just excellent game, only bettered by FOTS DLC. Little replayability though : all factions feel the same, but ikko ikki. The AI is the best in a TW game, even the diplomacy is good (unique in a TW game which all have **** AI diplomates)

This game hardly deserves the 10 I'm giving it, because it has little replayability : all factions feel the same. Apart from that, it is in my opinion the very best TW game. How could such a game be turned into R2TW????

Without the bugs, this game would deserve 10. At its launch it was but a lousy beta, but now, without the crash and slowings in siege battles, it would be perfect. Anyway this game proved that CA is unable to deliver anything but a beta on release date.

I do not judge RTW by todays standards. The graphics and IA are obviously outdated. However even today, this game feels great, with many different ways of winning, many fight styles. By todays standards, it would be but 7 or 8. Even today, this game is way more pleasure to play than rome 2 tw.

This game would deserve 8 without the fantastic modding community (try third age tw!). There are too many UI bugs (shame on musketeers!), but this game remains pure pleasure to play at.
