Puzzle game with a not bad story line. Puzzles are not bad although would be a bit easy if you don't find layton to be taxing. The blending of puzzle and the story is done alright but the story is too short and feels like you are only at 50% mark when it ends. The use of 3ds features is appreciated and is actually quite appearing. I would say this could be a very good launch game. As others mentioned the voice acting is not perfect, but i would cast a doubt of benefit to the motion picture. The game is full of motion presentation for all characters composed from series of still images. That's why there is no lip sync and the movement is repetitive. The voice acting is therefore presented "lively" to compensate for the loss. But maybe it is a bit over the board. Another thing worth mentioning is the creative writing. It successfully delivered the feel and taste as a popular show contestant which you receive fans and haters letters. The realm of 60's and the mystery atmosphere is also done successfully and you could enjoy immersing into the scene. A not bad game overall considered that it is from Ubisoft which specialized in full action games. I would say sometimes it feels like a game made under really tight budget but it is a good game for its current pricing.

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book9
Jul 25, 2018
Atelier is a long running title with Sophie being the protagonist of this 17th main installment - therefore also known as project A17. As the tradition this is the first episode of the mysterious trilogy within the installment, much like the Arland trilogy and the Dusk trilogy. This trilogy features a more interactive and tetris like crafting in order to achieve the "best output" in battles - maximum quality of equipment and bombs to be specific. The interactive and open-world like environment has also improved the game. This series amazed me everytime when a new sequel came out as there are always surprise and improvement waiting for me. This series is praised as atypical JRPG as it is full of Japanese style animation and full of young and innocent little girls with seeming lesbian reference yet the battle emphasizes hugely on buf and debuf other than physical damage output. Therefore you are an alchemist who needs to fight off monsters only because you need the stuff and you save the world by synthesizing but not by fighting off the dragon. However, this time the game finally asks you to do things that you like and you want instead of saving the world. This game offers: 1. The very hard mode in NG+ 2. The free DLC for the final map 3. the balance of the available traits and properties (you need more to decide what and what not to combine) 4. Easy platinum or hardcore boss battle to show off on youtube 5. The story lines are diverse - development of multiple characters and are playable although they are all linear. 6. The world is large and filled up with things to do and read 7. Complete and vivid voice acting for all dialogues 8. Unlimited In game time to enjoy all the game has to offer (as tradition players are usually given a defined time frame to fulfill the end game requirement and arriving at different ending)

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End4

I never liked shooter and not to mention Uncharted franchise. But to put it in the other way this is a better one out of the 4. First off it contains a bit less shooting scene than before. Second it features a story line about family and a change of attitude because of life changing event. This is what hits me as I grew up in PS era and am setting up my own family. But that's it. The puzzle has nothing special, the climbing is not challenging but at times not very clearly instructed because you basically has no work around. The path is as linear and scripted as it can be. I get this game from the new year game bag where you pay for one game and get the other three randomly so that I didn't lose too much. After all I beat the game but that's all about it. No replay value, unless you like cinematic very much. The movie is quite decent.

Fallout 38

This game is bugged like hell and it actually killed one of my hdd back in 2009. But I would recommend it because it somehow beat the trend and in my POV successfully transformed with the technology advancement. The mod community is huge and after you beat it once you can always mod it for better gaming experience. It never gets old. I think this game is as good as the previous two but better by having a much larger world and details for exploration. People thinks that you have just a few locations with beings to interact with but this is what makes it real. I won't expect to have packs and packs after such a tragedy on top of the evil humanity without law boundaries. The main story line is too short that's true, but i really have fun in exploring all those abandon buildings with no related quests. That's the point that you have to pay attention to the NPC in order to get to without a game guide. You could learn much better by checking out the fan wiki and find out that almost all of those are a reference. I would say after all these years it worth you of that 20 bucks if you found it in a bargain bin. Edit: You can turn the game into a TPS or FPS anytime you want, you can always shoot by using VATS. That's what make me liked the game more and more since I hate shooter.

Fallout9

I started with 3 and I loved fallout until some old folks slammed me on my positive critics on fallout 3. That's where I go back to 1 and you guess what, I loved both. To say the least, fallout 1 is one of the exemplar of RPG. The game is short, you can beat it in 20 hours if you just go right straight to what the game tells you, but I just went on and on until I hit the 100 mark. The game balance is reasonable and there are many ways to solve quests. To this end it has done a much better job even than some of the latest great title. Consider the graphics presentation could be offered by the hardware back in that age, this level of creativity could have created a much better market nowadays. Do check out the fallout bible created by fans. One last thing, I knew of lots of old folks think that the 3rd installment killed the series, but oddly this is one of the few series that I think it successfully crossed the gap of the technology advancement and go on.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection0
Jun 24, 2018
The problem with this franchise is not it being a third person shooter but it was advertised to be something that it isn't. The puzzle is lame, climbing is boring, way too much of shooting, and you basically has no alternatives in solving any of the above. I repeat, it has nothing wrong for being a shooter game but I just have to assume that most of the shooter fans has no idea what a good adventure game is or never before solved some good puzzle.
