People have begged me to play this game and I can see why people like it tho I can't say I love it. Why you ask? Well, I came from the Resident Evil 5 era where the action was snappier and despite its AI problems was a really fun game. However, now playing this, it does manage to feel like it and the 3D touch is nice. However, this doesn't feel as cinematic and the AI including the bear traps are absolutely frustrating here. I also liked hunting the treasure more in Resident Evil 5 where they hid them on walls whereas here they are practically in plain sight or locked away. The weapons this time around don't seem to pack enough punch either. Overall, you get a graphically superior game and the merchant system is better but it feels like a cheap er knckoff of Resident Evil 5 gameplay wise. I don't understand why people love this as even Resident Evil 5 has problems that held that one back but this one feels more frustrating cause the potential was there.
I used to have the original back in the day but hated the tank controls and fixed camera angles. Indeed, it was unsettling and the story seemed good, but the gameplay wasn't very good. However, this remake changed that completely and makes this the definitive experience imo. Everything about the design of this game is near perfect. The highlight here is the sound design as you'll get chills and jumpscares. The story here is tragic and loaded with metaphors. It also shows key events from the original which means they altered stuff here and there but the overall theme is intqct. Overall, this isn't just fan service but an actual game that changes enough things to feel fresh and respect its source material. Only loses a point because the apartment section was too long and some puzzles aren't that fun.
At this rate I'm getting sick of reviewing these turds yet Activision just keep flushing them out every year. I've said it too many times at this point but nothing works here. The campaign is the worst I've ever played as idek what's going on. Multiplayer was trash and so were the zombies that looked embarrassing to play. This is an embarrassment and clearly rushed without even given a thought about why this should be made. AVOID!
As a fan of Trails Of Cold Steel, I am excited to continue my journey through this. The story so far I can tell I'm going to like. Right from the start, we are introduced to our two main characters and they have good chemistry together. The enemies seem to be balanced in fights too. The biggest issues I see with this is the action/turn based combo system seems to be annoying to switch back and forth. I'd preferred the original turn-based combat. Also, when visiting towns, they do not label every building on the map which gets tedious to figure out where to go. Overall, this is a great JRPG that I'm excited to finish and see if I will bump my score up to a 9.
Edit: There is fast travel here but only unlocked later in the prologue. Also, some quests lock out fast travel which is dumb. The twist ending is so good that I will bump this up to a 9. Such a devastating twist and really gets me excited for the next game.
The campaign here has the same problems as Battlefield 6. It is simply unpolished and with difficulty spikes. The AI for the enemies here are poor rather than Battlefield 6 having poor friendly AI.
This is the best of the Battlefield series for the modern era. There are graphical moments where improvement could've been made but ther cinematics were nice and the voice acting was good. The boards themselves aren't anything groundbreaking but the stories they tell and cinematics are done well. Overall, this is not essential but a decent game worth playing once.
Note: This is only a review of the campaign mode:
Battlefield 6 has been getting loads of compliments but I cannot agree with them when it comes to the campaign, The campaign has issues especially in the first few boards. You have difficulty spikes, really bad AI, and an unpolished mess at times. There were a few good moments including toward the end where the dam gets destroyed which was awesome. However, the characters, story, and boards overall were subpar and needed more work.
Atlus is most known for their SMT & Persona games so I saw this game and thought it looked interesting enough to warrant a playthrough. This game isn't easy. It starts off easy but you'll soon realize this ain't for the casual mainstream gamers like me. I had to look up walkthroughs toward the end. The puzzle game was most fun toward the middle when the difficulty was balanced and not ridiculous like towards the end. The story and plot are the best parts of this. It makes you question relationships and standardized beliefs on marriage. Overall, I feel the gameplay held this back as it gets repetitive and eventually too hard at the end plus the ending was rather meh. I'd recommend this to hardcore gamers only who want a challenge yet also enjoy a decent story.
Well Syphon Filter 3 left a cliffhanger where the terrorists found the virus underwater in the ocean. This forced Gabe Logan to hire a team used to recon for clues and things needed to find out the terrorist's plans blah blah blah. I honestly couldn't care because the execution of this game was bad. They completely changed the gameplay here and it was not for the better. Half the time I couldn't tell I was close to dead plus there are unfair kills here where enemies blow you up with hidden C4. It's ridiculous the gameplay is so bad and the story I could care less for. This is simply a bad game and not worth it even for free.
Steins;Gate is a true visual novel in the sense there is no movement. Man, I must've been really bored to wanna try this. You'd think I'd hate this game as it's extremely cheap to tell a story this way. However, the plot is suspenseful, and the voice acting was enough to keep me hooked. Still, this is no masterpiece as I'd preferred to be able to move around with something to do or make choices like say Heavy Rain but I would be lying if I said the majority of this game was bad. It's actually an engaging story about the Butterfly Effect and how one small change allowed many unexpected consequences to follow. There are some plot holes here and there but the ideas are done well and you'll come out of this learning something new and enjoying some of the characters (especially the innocent sister & main character). The ending was brutal hence I probably got the bad ending. Overall, it's definitely the best visual novel game I've played yet but beware, it's all story with captions and no actual gameplay.
People keep saying this is worse than Until Dawn & honestly, I think both don't fully utilize their concepts. The characters here are definitely unlikable minus a few people. There are graphical improvements here but the offscreen kills got annoying. Too many of them. Some kills were brutally nasty and those were awesome. The characters felt really cliched here too. Overall, it's an ok game that's serviceable to horror fans but for people like me, Supermassive Games needs to do better than this.
Bandai Namco is responsible for the Trails Of Cold Steel series I always praise. Such a great series. Anyway, they decided to probably compete against Supermassive games and make a visual novel/limited movement based game themselves. As expected, choices can affect plot points and characters could even die in QTEs if missing buttons or making the wrong choice. The military aspect I really liked here. They all had good chemistry together. The aliens here are decently designed but you can tell this had a lower budget than it should've. The graphics hurt this game for me a bit along with the game having boring parts or parts that didn't feel epic enough. It also wasn't too scary, maybe a few scary moments. Overall, it's a decent effort thanks to the chemistry of these characters but it's nothing worth bragging about.
Supermassive Games strikes again but this time paying homage to campy horror movies. This has every cliche in the book too from the random people or animals that wanna help you to killers toying with obviously weak stupid victim teenagers that would've died long time ago. So unless you don't care for some realism, this will damage your game experience like it did me. I srsly think this wasn't that scary and most of these people do dumb things or stuck in dumb situations that are way too coincidental. The kills depending on your choices are nice to watch tho and some of the choices take you by surprise which was an awesome touch. Overall, it's too unrealistic to please non campy horror fans like me yet never goes balls to the wall crazy to please campy horror fans either. It's just a mediocre experience all around.
This is the game that made Supermassive Games popular and known. Many people to this day still claim this is the best visual novel/limited movement styled game ever made. However, I disagree. It just has less options to do here than other games and some of the plot progression can be very slow. Also, this is a kidnapping mystery so if you're not into that, this isn't for you. I like those if they are done well and this is done decently. I was curious enough to keep playing but it wasn't addicting like it should've been. I like some of the moments that made you question who did it and some of the clues you find along the way. Overall, there are movements and control issues present and the story is decent but nothing special. You have good moments but they never amount to anything grand.
Supermassive Games I found out about a few years ago with my first game of theirs I've played being Heavy Rain. This is no different style than that game, but I actually enjoyed this game better. That being said, it still has parts that drag on too much and the cinematics could've been more movie like. Sometimes it looks stiff. I really like the graphics of this game tho, it looks and feels like a futuristic city. The different dialogue options is a nice touch too and some of them even alter the entire story completely. Overall, while this is the cheaper way of playing a game since it's more visual novel and traveling in a linear yet multiple paths route, I still enjoyed this but it's still not an essential play imo.
While there are brief moments of fun to be had with a few fighters (notably Captain Marvel, Sonya, Green Lantern, & Superman) this game is actually pretty boring and has crazy difficult spikes. The graphics in this actually was pretty good for its time and voice acting can be good too. The lack of violence really hurts this game tho making the fatalities laughably bad. Like honestly, don't even bother learning them cause they are not appealing at all. The rage special move that makes you invincible I feel wasn't utilized well as people could still damage you and find easy ways of avoiding you. The story here makes no sense either no matter which side you play. There's just too many problems here to where unless you're playing with Captain Marvel, this game isn't worth the struggle you'll have.
Best modern Mortal Kombat game! Has a ton of fighters to pick from and offers lots of unique special moves, combos, and the new X-Ray system which was dope as heck to watch. The fatalities in this are gruesomely awesome and this game gives you plenty of time unlike later installments. This game pretty much satisfies your innermost primal instincts. This isn't a perfect game tho, some of the fighters flat out **** and it sometimes hindered my enjoyment with the story mode. Shao Kahn in this is tough so a 2-fighter match would be much easier than a single one. This game has a lot of extras if you're into that and some mini games too that can be fun or rather annoying. Overall, great game that tries new things and while most landed for me, some missed as well.
This is basically another GTA ripoff but with mafia members involved. This is a story about a veteran who gets into the mafia because he's tired of living in poverty. As you can expect, he later regrets this decision yet feels like he has no choice. Anyway, this story was executed in a mediocre way. It's not very exciting. The gameplay is also not very exciting except some of the shooting stages. However, it isn't no True Crime Streets Of LA exciting, it's just ok to decent at best. The driving stages were just awful. The controls really work against you and there is one stage where you are timed too! That was a sadistic awful experience that made me not wanna continue for a few days. It was really bad! Luckily that was the only cryptic stage and the rest of it was pretty mediocre with some moments of thrill. Overall, I can't recommend this game unless you're just dying for more mafia games. It's just ok and nothing memorable.
A stepdown from the shaky MW2019. This story doesn't go many interesting places and the twist was kinda meh. The ending was different tho. Multiplayer wasn't good and zombies is trash. Not good overall.
I thought this was also on shaky grounds. The campaign was pretty good with some bad levels. The story is definitely better than all the modern ones. The spec ops is soooooo horrendous and multiplayer was ok I guess. It's on shaky grounds here and not as bad as the reviews suggest.
So now we get to a slightly less embarrassing COD title. The campaign was actually decent until the end where it falls apart due to the weird hallucination stages. The multiplayer is as usual not very good and zombies was subpar but better than in recent years. Overall, it's treading on shaky grounds and almost bad in my eyes. Barely passable but disappointing.
A cheaply produced game coming from the highs of BO3, this will satisfy no one. The multiplayer is a stepdown and zombies is like a cheap knockoff of BO3. It is simply bad all around and deserves no praise.
So the campaign here actually isn't horrible. It had some good levels but the story is cliche and uninteresting. The zombies is laughably bad and so is the multiplayer. If it wasn't for the mediocre campaign, this would've been my vote for worst one.
This was the most hated COD ever made. Do I think the same? I'd say not quite but it's definitely top 3 worst. The campaign here is so dull and lifeless looking. The story itself is ok and gameplay is ok. The zombies here while respectable ultimately comes across as too cheesy and even hard. The multiplayer is the worst experience you'll ever see. It's laughably horrendous. Like don't even bother! Another failure!
Probably one of the better campaigns but that isn't saying much as its still lacking appeal. The multiplayer is straight pay to win garbage. The zombies I remember being ok but would I wanna play it again? NO! Overall, just another failure.
The futuristic stuff really doesn't work here. The campaign was ok. The multiplayer was straight trash and so were the zombies. The campaign had Kevin Spacey as the villain which ironically aged like fine wine. Still, what a piece of trash only rivaled potentially by Ghosts.
A surprisingly decent game (didn't think I'd ever say this) that is worth buying perhaps at a discounted price. The campaign ranges from good to bad depending on the board and the story for the most part is good. It's recommended despite the dumb zombie board midway through. Multiplayer isn't my thing and never was so I think imma keep it as unrated since it's unfair for me to criticize something I have no interest in. Zombies is also a mixed bag. I like they FINALLY went back to round based zombies but it feels Black Ops 4 styled meaning the animations seem cheap compared to Black Ops 3. It feels kinda like the old zombies yet not fresh but rather mildly digestible. Liberty Falls is definitely better than Terminus when it comes to map design and a casual experience that I prefer. Overall, this is a respectable approach for the series to build off of but still needs design and production improvement for me to say this is a return to form for COD.
I would say this is the same old stuff all over again with the same characters I don't care about but in worse locations. The location here really works against you and the combat is worse here than before. The boat levels made me wanna scream at the top of my lungs. There's nothing more aggravating than driving a boat where you get pulverized and you can't do much about it cause if you stop, more hop onboard. This game is extremely annoying in its execution of gameplay and will aggravate you to no end. In short, this does absolutely nothing better and made the gameplay much less enjoyable therefore making this one bad game you'll never wanna finish again (assuming you wanna keep playing).
A mildly enjoyable game that wears thin since it's essentially a hack and chop zombie game with very little shooting guns. The people you get to choose from are generally terrible except the firearm specialist. She's easily the most versatile well-rounded character. The story in this is just...boring. It's not even bad per se but it's just stuck in limbo where they turn into fetch quests. I wasn't invested in any of these characters. The graphics for the time were decent and the gameplay can be very fun the first few boards but it wears thin eventually. Overall, if you want a simple hack and chop zombie game with some upgrades involved, this will satisfy. Otherwise, I'd skip this and play Resident Evil perhaps.
Boy this game has some huge problems. First off, the controls in this are terrible. The character seems to move sluggishly around and trying to switch between survival weapons is a chore. The story imo is boring and doesn't really go anywhere for a long time. The gameplay dear lord was terrible. Trying to shoot anything in this game is like trynna line up your entire future in 10 seconds. It's impossible without a lot of planning. The hiding in this game was a great idea executed horribly. Half the time the alien either blatantly kills you even if you're hiding or your movement tracker lies to you and it still kills you. Checkpoints are scarce here too for this type of game and you'll be spending HOURS trynna get passed one part. Quite ridiculous and boring. It wears on your patience. You get a flamethrower to help you a lot later on but good luck getting there cause this game is a chore to play. Not recommended at all. The only positives I have are the scary atmosphere and when the game finally picks up but it's too late.
So this game caused many to become divisive since the story had some controversial decisions such as Abby herself, a narrative that shifts quite often, and well, a major death of a certain character (no spoilers). Some even criticized the lesbian relationships here which idc tbh, people make a big deal out of that for no reason at all. What I don't like is the story and plot. It's just so boring and doesn't give me any good reason to care for these characters. The gameplay tho has some nice moments but it gets too annoying toward the end. Overall, it's just a mediocre experience despite the graphical improvements. Sad cause this could've been much better with better writing.
Ah yes, the masterpiece of gaming that is The Last Of Us, the best game of all time according to many gamers. But is it that true? I'd say no. That's not to say this is a bad game as the story and characters are well written. That is easily the highlight of this game. However, the gameplay isn't worth bragging about. In fact, it's just ok. I don't really find this game fun to play but more or less fun to witness. It's a game that you wanna watch the story unfold and just get through the mediocre to boring stealth battles. Overall, it's a good game that is held back by its boring gameplay.
This is the sequel to the first one which I never played. The controls in this game are pretty bad. It takes a lot of getting used to. t's not very smooth at all and when you're flying through the air or worse, going underwater, it's even worse. The story is basically nonexistent and the best experience in this game is the different ways you can destroy cars and pedestrians. You can even kill animals (which is f'd up) by lighting them on fire, zapping them, making them explode with bombs, and even explode into pieces with the right powerup. It's pretty disgusting and definitely wasn't for the faint of heart back then. Overall, it's fun to play but it starts to get too repetitive by stage 4-5.
This game really did the hulk justice. It's a very fun game where you can learn new fighting techniques and if you overcharge your health, you can unleash a deadly technique that takes out huge waves of enemies or a ton of health off one enemy. The story is pretty basic and cliche but the gameplay is so much fun. It's worth it just for the fighting.
A surprisingly good game back in the day with good voice acting, graphics, level design, and storyline. It loosely follows the movie and you can customize fighting moves and get more slow motion and health. It's a pretty good game only held back by odd controls at times and frustrating levels toward the end.
This is hilarious knowing only one other person has reviewed this game. This game is surprisingly not as useless as I thought it'd be. It's still just mediocre but surprisingly well crafted for such an obscure game. There is a lot to do in this game but there's literally no purpose to do it other than say hey, I 100% this game that literally nobody will ever know about. Idk anyone who even mentions this game and idk what made my mother play this. It's a very corny game that can be fun for kids in small doses but I feel they'd get bored eventually. The story here is pretty stupid. A wolf gets set free by you, a naive dog and now rampages towns nearby hurting the dog community. Sounds pretty stupid and it is. Honestly, you could care less about these characters and even your own dog parents. Overall, it's forgettable. Still wish I had my copy of this as it's probably a rare collector's item now.
People really badmouthed this game and idk why. There are much worse games out there. Yes there are issues with the slow aiming and sometimes the movement gets clunky but the gameplay and collecting items is a lot of fun. The graphics for its time was definitely cinematic and looked awesome. Wesker is a great villain as well. Overall, had it had better movement and aiming ability, this could've been great but instead it's just good enough to warrant a playthrough.
A fun yet short Australian themed 3D platformer that has very good gameplay. Boomerangs here can be added to your collection as you progress through the game and the different levels all feel unique. Definitely inspired by Spyro but not as good, this still has some quirky fun to be had and an excellent choice for newbies who want a more casual experience. The only big gripe I have is the boss fights here are pretty uninspired. The only fun boss fight I had was the furry robot you sink into ice. Other than that, they are generic and easy to figure out.
Pretty standard game where the objective is to hit all orange balls/tiles that are scattered everywhere. Each board has different animals with different powers and hitting the green balls/tiles activates their powers for a limited time. It's an average game that is good to pass time by but overstays its welcome eventually.
Pretty enjoyable fun game if you just wanna chill. You can do co-op and versus mode too which gives it more of a reason to play. You can co-op the campaign too which is fun. Survival mode is co-op too and that is probably the most fun I've had in ages for a kids game like this. This is a very fun and creative game that deserves its praise despite its story and plot being weak.
All I remember from this heap of trash is how bad of a SOCOM styled game this was. It felt like a cheap knockoff of COD with terrible stealth levels. Not even worth looking at! DO NOT EVEN DARE TRY THIS!
A very middle of the road game. The story is serviceable and the characters are too. What this game lacks is a bigger world for the group to explore and more stuff to do than just drink at a night bar and shop at the same old shops. Daytime does not exist in this world either which is fine but then open up more sections of the city for us to explore and interact with. Maybe let us explore other cities in this world that are beautiful and adds more characters. The backstory of these main characters can be interesting, but we need reasons to care about their present selves. Otherwise, it sounds like a pity party. The story progresses very poorly too. Like the gameplay is repetitive and near the end I just wanted it to stop. It starts off really nice which makes you think this will be a neat trippy experience but you'll soon realize it won't be. It's a mediocre game that doesn't offend anyone but pleases no one either.
This is an action based JRPG clearly inspired by Trails Of Cold Steel. It's the same concept except different plot and action rather than turn based combat. This game has some really nice characters and some good development but needed more world building and bigger relationship to make us feel invested in the world with cool characters. Clearly this game was rushed despite having the makings of a new series which they probably intended at first but scrapped it now. Really missed potential here that could've been something big but botched by repetitive gameplay and story that felt rushed and not as developed as it could've been.
Offering a fresh unique perspective on military games, this game offers probably the most creative option I've seen: what do I want my 3 allies to do for me? Well you can open up a huge list of what you want your teammates to do. You can tell them to go and do practically anything you want which included verbal commands on a headset and online play with others. This was truly revolutionary and immersive which probably inspired COD to copy this in the future. The problem here is it can get buggy and stealth has way too many factors dictating your overall score. It's quite annoying if you wanna 100% this game. The story is simple here and the highlights are the options it gives you. It makes you feel like a NAVY SEAL. I feel this deserved more love at the time but nowadays it feels outdated but promising for a future remake.
The disappointing third game in the series with a different character that I just don't like and unfair mobs of aliens that are quick to wipe you out. This is an infuriating game despite the clear graphical advancements made here. It's a game I look at out of interest to play again only to be reminded how hard this game is. It's sad the creators took this too far and didn't focus on what would make this game better for the audience.
This game is the worthy sequel of a pretty good first game. It has better graphics, better battles, and no health bars. However, it still feels a bit repetitive here and only allows you to carry two weapons instead of all of them. I get why they did that but it's just a bummer when that's why I enjoyed the first one. Still, it's a solid sequel that is worthy of trying out. It's not essential but still a good play.
A very unique and weird game where a soldier dies and gets revived by alien parasites that infest his body and keep him alive. He now has the ability to survive longer and heal part of his health bar when taking some damage. Yes, there is a health bar here. There are points this game is stingy with health but most of the time you don't have to fret. Also you get to carry every weapon in the game unlike its sequel which holds the traditional two weapon only system and no health bars. Overall, a solid origin story that has a simple yet effective execution gameplay and storywise.
A decent and very playable horror game where you have to defeat ghosts by taking pictures of them. Yes, taking pictures of them. Such a weird game this was yet it was mildly entertaining. The story is very generic and the gameplay was ok. The atmosphere of this game is quite creepy tho which made this stick out. Overall, it's a decent cult game that I'd only recommend certain people to play, those who like indie games and those who like anything horror.
