The sheer amount of bugs is ridiculous. Unacceptable in a full priced AAA game. The game play is generic the role playing is next to non-existant, the open world feels lifeless and constantly takes you out of the game with completely odd AI behavior. It's bad. And even if the bugs are all patched out the game itself is so poorly **** open worlds events are all "Crush gangs for cops" most of your bounties are from cops, cops themselves are nearly invincible and immune to your **** of the main characters LOATHS sex workers. This is a conservatives idea of cyberpunk where the cops and corporations are the heroes. Fitting then that conservative gamers have made this part of their culture war...they're welcome to the game frankly.

Death Stranding10
Nov 8, 2019
I'm really enjoying Death Stranding. But it's very niche. It's kinda in the truck simulator **** with occasional paranormal enemies, bandits and surreal story telling. You spend a lot of time just navigating terrain, trying to ensure your packages remain intact. As you can see it's not for everyone, BORING is the big matching word in the reviews. Personally I love it, this is absolutely to my taste.

Third person open world action game with rpg elements. It actually works, So no fear of another arkham knight here. And boy does it ever work, well optimized, solid playing and equally important, feeling combat and driving. Think arkham combat and far cry three driving. The world is massive, beautiful and filled to the brim with stuff to do. The story is brutal and to the point, it wont win any awards but it does service to the world it's in. So far, well recommended.

South Park: The Stick of Truth9
Apr 2, 2014
Fun combat with surprising depth, a truly south park story, fun and intuitive rpg systems not to mention the many ways you can customize your charecter are just the iceing on the cake. the games true power is it's ability to make you feel like part of the gang, a guest star accepted into the ranks for several episodes. Even if it comes out a bit short at 11-15 hours (my only gripe with the game) It's easily a must buy for any south park fan. Having said that there is some replayability with multiple classes, multiple companions with interesting dialogue not to mention a choice half way through that will branch the story. If your not a fan, this will go a long way to converting you definitly worth picking up when it goes on sale. Just an aside for any other Australian's out there the censorship ubisoft went with (for some reason they submitted an already censored version for classifications, not even risking getting a "Not classified" responce) isn't to big an issue and the games developers slipped in little jokes about it. Two scenes are censored and can be easily viewed online (you're not missing anything vital)

If you like 4x strategy games this is a buy, if you like turn based games with turn based combat this is a must have. With a game like this, one that's well polished with no obvious technical flaws it can be very hard to write a review. It delivers and spectacularly what it sets out to do, a turn based fantasy 4x game. With a map editor on the way there's plenty of replayability and value for money here.

Mar 18, 2014
Fun gun play with mechs, It's hard to get flowery when reviewing an **** works and is fun. I'm not sure where the low ratings are really coming from, from reading them technical issues and a feeling that there isn't enough content, well I haven't experienced any and I felt I got my moneys worth. The campaign isn't really there, a series of regular multiplayer maps with unique intros and outros and voice work throughout given how god awful multiplayer fps games campaign modes are, how insultingly they're written I'm siding with titanfall here, a multiplayer campaign is perfect for the genre it just wont blow your socks off here. It's a solid game as is and as the entry title for a newly formed company it's amazing. Might not live up to the hype for everybody but worth a try.

Nov 25, 2013
Large open world with an interesting lead, and no desmond! I suppose I'm biased really, not only was the boat sections the only redeeming quality of three imo I'm also a **** for pirates, I thought making the player the main character of the real world was perfect and really fit the meta concepts of the series, the only down side is you're mute and completely un-responsive which becomes incredibly grating at many points of the real world story arc. My only complaint is I wish there was more to the world, it's big geographically but feels stale...they're getting close though if they keep up with this trend and hopefully with a more interactive real world story arc the next game could be truly fantastic. Oh and my five year old pc plays this just fine, not sure where the technical complaints are coming from really.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst8
Oct 25, 2013
Although the rush of employee/botting reviews here annoys me to no end this is a functional port of a fun game having not played the extra chapter exclusive to the pc version I can only give the same thoughts I did for the xbox version: A surprisingly fun fighting game and a mostly faithful adaption (some contrived battles where before there might have been just a brief argument in the manga/anime for example) Other then that there's far more story here then any of the previous games. A huge roster most of whom have multiple outifts/special move sets. If you're a naruto fan this is a must buy, if you're a fighter fan you might find some fun here it might surprise you but you're probably better off elsewhere where fighting mechanics take precedent over a faithful/fun adaption of an anime.

Sep 19, 2013
It aspires to be an interactive story without an inventory or sanity effects and without the intimidating enemy's of the first the best the game can do to horrify is flicker the lights shake the camera and abuse the audio. The simple and obvious fact is the amnesia devs sold out and outsourced large portions of the game to the dev team of dear esther, an interactive story can be great, but that's not what amnesia was and it's not what was promised. Please skip this game, don't reward this kind of behavior grab outlast instead it has faults but it stays very true to the genre and brims with the passion and care of it's team.

Dead Space 34
Sep 8, 2013
Whoever decided to change dead space into an action game, throw all tension out the window and yet keep the clunky controls should be fired. What else can I say, the story is mired heavily by the giant boat anchor that is the love triangle between captain forgettable chick from two (who left isaac because of his fixation on the **** that she could hunt markers, I'm not kidding it is that stupid) and half way through the game you're fighting human enemys (and at the start to) from behind knee high walls...getting so damn tired of homogenization of games in the AAA **** would I want to play gears or cod or any other fudging game in dead space when I could go play those games? I can only imagine it gets bearable in **** there's a huge bloody pay off story wise at the end otherwise this is a complete waste of money and I urge everyone to go elsewhere, there are better story's and better game play elsewhere sometimes both in the same game. Total disappointment.

Sep 4, 2013
I can see this getting canned for only one reason: national pride. Those who've played it will know what I'm talking about. The US did recruit a number of there former enemys specialists and they did perform questionable research...specifically biological and psychological warfare (in fact the game has in the various journals almost word for word excerpts from said research, with names dates and locations changed) and I can't fault people for being in denial over those events (for those curious I do recommend a google search or two on the subject...very chilling stuff and a real lesson in monitoring ones government, to serve and protect...sometimes the latter drives those in power to extremes to one up would be opponents.) I say this because there's already one review here based solely on this. Now onto the game: It's near flawless in execution the atmosphere is...amazing without a **** the scares are therefore very well designed in that any scare in this little world is a brilliant scare, however there are sections where you are being chased and there is no alternative but to keep running and hope you can crawl or slip through an area your pursuer can't follow these are the weakest feeling parts of the game...they happen a bit to regularly and can't help but feel heavily scripted even if brilliantly so (an enemy has a set pattern of behaviors and they design a small section built around this, with very planned exits) I've also heard tell it's rather short, which doesn't surprise me as mentioned every inch was designed with care (sometimes to it's detriment again as mentioned) but for the price it's still easily worth it. I very much look forward to see'ing more from these dev's.

The only faults I can think of are that the vote kick system and other host tools can be easily abused all together more humanity's flaws then the games. Easily worth the price.

Setting, action, strategy and of course rock all tuned well. It's really the sum of it's parts that make this game such a joy to play individually they're average but together...together they make one helluva brutal legend. That's something I think a lot of the reviews here haven't taken into account, this is a huge mashup of genres and each part taken in isolation is worse then games focused entirely on them...that should be **** apparently it isn't. The sum is far greater then it's parts though and well worth a buy.

An amazing game. Stealth, action and narrative are all top notch here, Having played through the base game I literally can't understand some of these low score reviews they make no sense to me. The combat is fluid and with the various magic powers at your disposal, fun and varied. The stealth works intuitively and is one of the better examples of the genre. The world is amazing and deeply intriguing, if the game has a flaw it is compared to how interesting the world is some of the characters seem shallow and that at some points near the end the games limited funding shows (but just barely) I usually reserve a 10 for games I feel people are unfairly bashing en-mass. Not so this time, a true gem **** definitely worth experiencing.

The games narrative side is it's main and only real strength although it to suffers from missed opportunity's, rather glaring ones in fact. You never meet your enemy's, never speak a word to them nor do you meet there people or your own beyond hand picked advisers and generals. The combat is zergy think supreme commander without the depth the strategy map is risk cards and all. I just can't help but think of what could of been, so often the case with larian games though isn't it, "alright, wish they'd been more ambitious" every larian game. A real shame.

Hopefully that's something modders can address there is however a charecter importer to bring your avatar into as many player created missions as you want (mod tools included with base game and integrated with the steam workshop) If nothing else this is a solid investment at it's price for what it has the potential to be.

A terrific, immersive co-op/competitive game. You and three others crew an airship of your choice. I can't think of a better way to endorse this to others. You're in an **** a crew against other player teams and there airships. The physics of all the ships and there guns work intuitively match making is quick and painless, I can only think it's launch was dodgy given the lukewarm reactions from so called "professional" critics, but when have they ever mirrored the views of gamers in general? Again a steampunk airship game.

Sound, aesthetics and atmosphere are all top notch combined with excellent and some unique to the genre gameplay make this a must buy for any fans of ARPGs. For the price, this would make an excellent entry to the genre for those on the fence. There are only two flaws that comes to mind some of the voice acting and script of some of the characters are a bit cringe worthy and the lack of character selection/customization, more then made up for imo by the partnership of your character the titular Van Helsing and his charming companion the Lady Katarina.

Excellent and well optimized graphics combined with visceral and satisfying sound and art design make this game a real joy to play. You play as a mechanized ninja with a melee weapon and two ranged weapons jumping into very accessible online co-op (completely optional, it can be played solo) completing various objectives while fighting varied enemies from power armored opponents to robots to mutants. The cash shop sells convenience only, all guns/warframes and items can be earned in game. Unlocking each characters unique item is now based on a set of achievements randomized at the outset and the unlocks...unlock additional dialogue pieces and change the appearance of the game dramatically. Driving through real world locations, rain pouring down and tuned into a European radio station. There's no real way to describe it, as a simulation game it's rooted in repetition which may annoy some. If you're a fan of similar simulation games this is a must buy, simple as that it's the best of the recent slew of games of the genre. But why do I enjoy it so much, I don't really have an answer it's relaxing certainly. It's interesting driving through the admittedly scaled down real world locations listening to local radio stations, maybe that's it, does a game need to do more then that to engage and engross? The options for customizing how you drive, the weather you drive in and the behavior of pedestrians/other drivers is amazing as are the options to pimp out your truck (when you eventually earn enough to purchase a truck until such time you hire yourself out as a driver for other company's) The game isn't the prettiest out there, your truck and things in your immediate view look fantastic however distant objects often have a 2d look to them which can be a bit jarring when the rest of the game works so well in getting you immersed. All in all a very pleasant surprise. *A slight edit here to clarify that the radio stations aren't per-recorded the game is designed with a very easy to use interface to stream the radio stations directly "R" key by default iirc, as another review here stated hearing a dj mention he recently had a large new listener base from ET 2 was a surreal and fun experience.

A worthwhile expansion to a very solid rts. All the 0's here remind me that metacritic needs to be read with some pretty thick filters, especially with company's with as storied a history as blizzard, remember always nostalgia is poison to the gaming world no more is this more apparent then on metacritic.

A game who's sole claim to fame is it's story, As someone who already knows war hero fantasy and or the "realistic shooter" genre is ridiculous and anyone who takes it seriously is equally ridiculous I found the story unnecessarily preachy. It's methods for displaying visuals and sounds as metaphors for the "heroes" mental state was clever but not groundbreaking. The action elements were much worse, the AI is average at best and so the gun play gets repetitive. All in all this title should be played for it's story, and even then it's preachy and self righteous overtones are going to annoy some people.

Terrific graphics, sound - standard AAA game fair there, story was compelling a rare case **** story that made me want to keep playing to see it unfold. The problems are many here but they're par for the course for AAA fps games these days, linear level design, tiny multiplayer maps (thank you consoles, your pathetic hardware continues to hamstring us) and while compelling at the end I came away realizing that it was the characters I cared about and to try to avoid spoiling specifics here that's going to be a huge problem going forward. The ending left me dissapointed and a bit confused as all the build up around Master chief and whether he is in fact "broken" (emotionally/socially) and if so whether that's why he's so effective is left un-resolved. the plot is paper thin your enemies also lack any real motivation but that's par for the course for the series let alone the **** to wrap up why have I given this a higher score then it sounds like it deserves? Because it's better then it's predecessors in every way, but it's still the same old AAA fps. And I'm feeling sympathetic reading people complaining about the games ease while admitting to playing on normal or easy and all the jaded crap about paid reviewers. It's worth the box price for what it is, but also for what it might become there's a chance for a real story in an awesome world here, admittedly not with master chief after the events of the game...

Keeps the wonderful open world nature of the total war games throwing in superior rpg elements with both scripted and random quests combined with a far more fleshed out leveling system for heros and units. Suffers from very simple combat mechanics compared to total war (with a lack of moral fatigue and much less effective counter units) If you loved the natural storys that emerged as you played total war but thought it would be vastly improved by additional rpg elements not to mention a fantasy setting then this is the game for you.

The first king arthur was a clever turn based strategy game meets rpg elements which successfully mimicked total wars open world nature which nurtured the wonderful natural storys you develop with your generals. This game throws that away in favor of a heavily linear experience with dumbed down management. In short it trys to tell you a story some people love having there hand held forcefully through a story so for them this might be a plus, for me the simplified mechanics (in an already rather simple strategy game) and the extremely linear story made for a very disappointing experience.

Offers a different spin on the formula that does just enough to excite this mmo old hand into writing a review. The story is both terrific and terrible in pieces some quests and environments will have you on the edge of your seat to see what's next others will have you cringing (The secret world must be a secret to a hermet living in a cave with fingers in his ears singing loudly because everyone else in game is well aware of it's existence) The combat is the standard combo point affair we all associate with rogues. Where the game really shines is it's deck system which allows you to make your own class out of a dizzying selection of weapon classes. In short if you like the trinity game play of healer, tank, dps with dungeons, pvp and end game content you'll probably love this as it does enough different to hold your interest. If you were hoping for a re-invented wheel then I'd wait until someone combines swtor's story telling teras combat and guild wars. Until then this is an excellent way to spend your time.

I can forgive the lack of content, it is after all a brand new game. What I can't forgive is a game engine that would be outdated 4-5 years ago that struggles desperatly and in vein on a decent rig, a complete lack of innovative features we've come to expect from the genre i.e a decent auction interface, decent grouping tool and cross server pvp. The full voiced questing system will WOW you until you realize that there are only three quests, destroy objects, kill dudes, loot dudes no escorts bombing runs or vehicle sections to be seen and to top it all off your actions have no effect on the world whatsoever so all that wonderful fluff every npc vomits into your ears is wasted. To say the gameplay borrows from wow implies any work beyond cutting and pasting was involved right down to the trees of each class being re-written tooltips. If you want kotor 3 then this is your game, if you want a star wars mmo with a beautifully and handcrafted story for your class and easy to jump into group play then tough cookies because this isn't it. This will of course come across as harsh but to have my expectations raised so high only to be **** into a thousand poorly copied world of warcraft pieces feels like a betrayal and a waste of my money.

I don't usually enjoy games in the simulation category but anno 2070 hooked me, great graphics sound with very approachable and easy to learn mechanics a senate and world council voting system brings a sense of community and bonuses based on player votes the world over and to top it all your "ark" allows enduring bonuses to be carried from one game to another connecting your many empires to each other.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim10

66 hours played and there's still a mind boggling amount to do, this game has content, graphics and sound all AAA standard. If you like rpg's this is your game. Bethesda has created a huge open world chock full of quests and dungeons to explore populated with npc's that go about there daily lives reacting to the players achievements in game. I really can't recommend skyrim enough, run don't walk to your nearest game shop or steam and buy this game.

Disciples III: Resurrection7
Oct 22, 2011
There's some truth to the claim that disciples 3 has evolved more then it's competitor heroes of might and magic, this certainly looks amazing and plays really well. Where it's brought low though is the absolutely pathetic voice acting and most of the units sounds, in fact the sound design in general is severely lacking, I know sound design seems a poor thing to pick at when reviewing a game but here it really is noticeable you have these amazing Gothic characters and environments brought to "life" by some of the worst voice acting I've ever endured if your content to let that slide however you'll find a great turn based strategy **** might just want to bring your own music.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings9
Oct 22, 2011
One of the best rpg I've played to date, re-playability aplenty free dlc by the handful what more could anyone want? Amazing art and sound design through character and voice design. The developers obviously set out to earn your money and it shows in every detail, every fiber of the game any fan of rpgs owes it to themselves to get this game.

Fable III4
Oct 22, 2011
If this were the first game of the saga, sure it's good but as a player of all three fables there's just not enough evolution here. The gameplay is simplistic in every way interaction with npc's is still playing paty-cake with them. The game looks great in the same way that it's pre-desecors have I.e exactly the same as fable 1. Sound design is average at best. Am I being un-reasonable expecting more from the franchise by it's 3rd outing? save your money and get a real rpg, any of the fallouts or any of bethesda's games, dragon age these franchise's work hard to earn your loyalty whereas fable seems to delight in provideing the bare minimum and then charging you for more lack luster content through dlc.
