Unreal Tournament 200410
Dec 12, 2013
This game is the best video game I have ever played by far. It is definitely the perfect multiplayer shooter in just about every way. In case you are wondering why I think this game is so awesome, let's start with the gameplay. This game is not the usual class-based FPS like Team Fortress 2 or Battlefield. It is actually similar to earlier games such as John Romero's Doom or Quake in which there are no classes, and everyone can have the same weapons. This is a very good system, as it means that no units can overpower another, and no one has any real advantage or disadvantage. This is a very good system, and I only wish more shooters followed that trend nowadays. The rest of the gameplay is separated into different modes. There is Deathmatch, which pits everyone against each other in a free-for-all, where people have to score the most points in order to win. There is also Team Deathmatch, which is similar to normal Deathmatch, but now pits two teams against each other, rather than a free-for-all. There is also Capture the Flag, which has the straight-forward goal of capturing the enemy team's flag while defending your own. Then there is assault, which is a unique mode that pits two teams against each other with one on offense, and the other on defense. The offense needs to complete its objectives before time runs out, while defense needs to prevent them from doing so. The teams then switch, and the new offensive team has to beat the opposing team's time. There is also onslaught which takes people out of the large corridors of normal Unreal Tournament games, and takes them into full-scale battles in which you need to destroy the enemy team's power core to win. Then there is mutant mode, where once a player scores a kill, he becomes a mutant, and thus the target of the other players. The mutant is an overpowered unit, and is hard to kill. There is also invasion, which involves three players fighting for survival against wave after wave of enemies. Finally, there is last man standing, which is like Deathmatch, but each player now has limited lives, and once they lose those lives, they're out. These are all very creative modes, and they ensure that you will not get tired of the game very easily. This game also has great graphics. Admittedly they were much better back when this game was released in 2004, (they are dated by today's standards), however, I still say they're great nonetheless. As for the story, it's very simplistic. You make a character, and have him complete in every event in the Unreal Tournament. Even though the story is simplistic however, it is still very good. After all, this game doesn't need a massive storyline to be awesome. The story of this game is definitely good enough to get the job done, and that's all that really matters. Overall, I'd say that this game is excellent. There is really nothing wrong with this game in the slightest. It has amazing gameplay with silky smooth controls, great graphics, and a great story. If you do not have this game, for goodness sake, you need to buy it now! It is cheap on Steam, or you can get this game, along with the Unreal Deal Pack (includes this plus all of the Unreal games in one package) for the price of a newly released game. Heck, buy the whole package if you really want to. All of the games on there are excellent.

Assassin's Creed III6
Oct 16, 2013
Unlike most people, I actually like this game better than Assassin's Creed II. However, that still doesn't mean that I love this game. As a matter of fact, I have to say that this game is average at best. This game has a lot of the same problems I have had with Assassin's Creed II, but it is still slightly better for other reasons. For one, the graphics have been very much improved. While they are still outdated (not on par with Skyrim or Batman Arkham City, both of which came out a year before this), they are still very good. The gameplay is not too bad either. However, after playing it, I cannot deny its many similarities with Batman Arkham City. That's essentially what the gameplay is as a matter of fact, a toned down version of the combat system in Batman Arkham City. This still makes the gameplay generic like Assassin's Creed II, however, I did love Batman Arkham City's combat system, and I am pretty glad it was used here. The game also has a little more to do in it than Rocksteady's Batman epic, however, most of these tasks are rather boring. Arkham City had Batman solving crimes, while this game has you collecting trinkets for a man you care little about. Naval battles were a nice touch to this game however. It does keep this game from getting too generic like Assassin's Creed II, but considering that they make up less than half of the game's missions, it won't help all that much. The gameplay also still has several glitches, a few of them game-breaking. If Ubisoft really wants this series to be amazing, they need to stop releasing these games with so many bugs in them. The story of this game however, still completely ****. The present story is still in there, and should be removed from the game entirely. Its plot is confusing as heck, and is still a complete rip-off of the Matrix. As for the story set in the past, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the story is no longer ripping off any comic books (at least, not as much as the last game). The bad news is now it is ripping off another very good movie. This time, it is ripping off Star Wars. The story has you taking control of an Assassin named Luke Skywalker, I mean Connor (who is essentially a Native American version of Batman), who has everything he loves taken from him, his tribe, his mother, everything. He then goes to a wise old mentor named Yoda, I mean Achilles, to teach him the ways of the Jedi, I mean Assassin. He also learns that one of the main villains of this game is his father named Darth Vader, I mean Haytham Kenway. Do you see where I'm saying it is a Star Wars knock-off? The game still has a very unique setting. I do love how it takes place in Colonial times, which is an era not often explored in video games. I also love how it takes place during the American Revolution, however, that does sort of add to how it is a rip-off of Star Wars, as there is another war between the Assassins and Templars happening along with the Americans and British. In Star Wars it was the Rebellion vs. The Empire along with Jedi vs. Sith. Overall, I'd say that this game is an improvement from Assassin's Creed II, but still not a game that I would call great. I'd say that this game is worth a rent at best. However, if you want something better than this, it would probably be for the best that you skip this game entirely, and spend your money on a game like Batman Arkham Asylum or Arkham City.

Fallout: New Vegas10
Oct 14, 2013
All I can say about this game right off the bat, is that it is right up there with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as one of the greatest video games I have ever played. While most critics would like to disagree with me, I actually like this game better than Fallout 3. Fallout 3 was a pretty fun game, however, there was just so much more to this game that made me love it just a little more. At first, I was not too sure about the idea behind this game. I felt like Obsidian Entertainment was taking the Call of Duty approach with this game (Making the game on the exact same engine, little to no improvements to it whatsoever). However, when I finally bought this game on my PC, my concerns were put to rest when I realized that this game was actually very different from Fallout 3. The engine was not improved at all, however, the gameplay has changed in some very good ways. It still retains the action RPG gameplay of Fallout 3, but this time around, there is much more to it. Now, you have to pick perks every two levels instead of picking one every level. Shooter fanboys will also be happy to know that you can now fire down-sights for more accuracy. Guns are also much more accurate now than they were in Fallout 3. In Fallout 3, you had to hold down the aim button for greater accuracy. Now, doing this is no longer necessary, as the guns are all accurate without it. Also, the karma system from Fallout 3 has been changed into a reputation system. Reputation depicts how certain factions and towns like you, while others dislike you. This is a very good system, and I wish it was done more often in other games, as it allows people of one town to worship you, while people in another want nothing more than to see you dead. Other than these features, the gameplay is not all that different from that of Fallout 3, however, that's a good thing, as Fallout 3's gameplay was fantastic. It still has Fallout 3's RPG mixed with shooter gameplay, which is enough to really make this game enjoyable. The graphics of this game are also excellent. They do not really improve much from Fallout 3, however, they are still quite good on their own right. Fallout 3 did manage to get the feel for the post-apocalyptic world better, but I think Fallout New Vegas is actually the better looking game. It just feels so much more alive than Fallout 3. Fallout 3 was barren, while Fallout New Vegas is exciting. The story of this game, while not as good as Fallout 3, is still good on its own right. Fallout 3's story was much more original than this game's. New Vegas' story is pretty much the stereotypical story of "someone tried to kill you, and it is up to you to find out who he is, and what he's after,". Cliched? Yes. Bad? Absolutely not! The story of New Vegas is actually done quite well, it just isn't Fallout 3's story. Still though, I do like how this game's story has much more to do with Fallout 1 and 2 than Fallout 3 did. After all, Fallout 3 was set in Washington D.C., while all of the others were set out West. Another thing that's awesome about this game's story is that you have much more control over how the game ends, through both reputation, and how you handle the game's quests. You can choose one of four paths in this game (for the main quest), and all four are generally enjoyable to play through. It also shows the endings of all the other minor factions you chose to either help or destroy during the course of the game. I also like how this game just ends, and does not let you go back after beating the game. Most people did not like this, but I actually did. I thought it was a thoroughly enjoyable way for your game to just end. Still though, there are a few problems with this game. For one, there are a lot of bugs in this game. They are nothing to bad however, just minor hiccups here and there. Also however, I did have a bit of a mixed reaction towards the game's DLC's. I liked two of them (Honest Hearts, Lonesome Road), was not so sure about one (Old World Blues), and completely disliked the last one (Dead Money). These DLCs do not affect my opinion on this game as a whole however. Overall, this game is a truly fantastic game. Its story may not be Fallout 3, but it does beat it in terms of both gameplay and graphics. This game really is what Fallout 3 would have been if the original developer had stayed in business.

Fallout 39
Sep 26, 2013
Well, it took me a few playthroughs of this game, but I have finally reached a verdict. This game is just amazing! It is another fantastic game that I've played from Bethesda Softworks. Fallout 3 is a truly spectacular game that successfully combines both the RPG and First-Person Shooter genres. That line can sum up the game's gameplay in a nutshell. This game mixes Fallout's own roleplaying mechanics with that of Bethesda's Elder Scrolls franchise. In this game, you can be whatever kind of character you want, and do what you want in the wasteland that was once Washington D.C. As in the Elder Scrolls, you can travel anywhere you want in the capital wasteland, buy what you want, fast-travel where you want, and so much more. This is hardly an Elder Scrolls clone however. This is not just Oblivion with guns, not in the slightest. There are several more things that this game has that the Elder Scrolls does not. This game has its own perk system (which was actually added into the Elder Scrolls Skyrim), that makes it different from Oblivion. The perks are special specific stats for your character that Oblivion does not have. They can give your character special bonuses, such as doing more damage than you normally would with all weapons. Leveling is also different from Oblivion. In Oblivion, you could only level up while your character was sleeping. Here, your character levels up almost immediately. This is an excellent improvement from Oblivion, as I did not like how you had to sleep just to level up. It proves that Bethesda Softworks truly is a company that learns from its mistakes. Also, along with the RPG elements, there are also shooter elements, which further cement that this is a truly different game from Oblivion. There are plenty of guns to choose from in this game, and the shooter mechanics are executed perfectly. However, I do find myself constantly running out of ammo from time to time. Money is also very scarce in this game, so it is a little difficult to buy ammo too. There are also a few bugs and glitches, however, these shortcomings don't hurt the game all that much. The graphics and sound of this game, all I can say is, they are excellent. This game is one of the most beautiful looking video games that I have ever played/seen. It is not Skyrim or Just Cause 2, but it does look brilliant nonetheless. The sound of this game is also done very well. The weapons sound right, and the monsters sound the way they should. The best part about the sound of this game however, is its spectacular music. This game mixes songs from the 50s (and yes, I mean actual songs from the 50s, not ones that sound like songs from the 50s) with more orchestrated pieces from the composers of the Elder Scrolls franchise. The soundtrack of this game truly is a beautiful mix. The story of this game is also phenomenal. It involves the main character's father trying to give the wasteland of Washington D.C. fresh water for all who inhabit the wasteland. It is up to you, the main character to leave your vault, find your father, and help him in giving the wasteland fresh water. This is a very unique story if you ask me, and it not the stereotypical story that people might find in most post-apocalyptic games. There are also many choices that your character can make throughout the game that will determine what people think of the character through the game's karma system. These decisions will effect what happens in the game's main story. Good actions will make everyone love your character, while bad actions will make them hate your character. This system is done very well, as it is very easy for your character to change from good to evil and then back again, unlike most games with systems like this. It also has a system called V.A.T.S. which was also in the first two Fallout games (that I was unfortunate enough not to play), that allows you to pause the action, and aim for specific body parts on the enemy. This is a really good system, and I'm happy it was used. Overall, I'd say that this game is fantastic. If you love a good first-person shooter, or role-playing game, you should definitely consider buying this game. It is every bit as amazing an experience as The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, and more than deserving of a nine out of ten.

Assassin's Creed II4
Sep 25, 2013
I have already written a review of this game once, however, I ultimately decided that that review was just bad, so I've decided to write a brand new one. What do I have to say about this game? Well, it is just about the most overrated piece of crud that I have ever played. Many of my friends at school played this game, and they claimed that it was awesome. However, all I have to say about it is that they are wrong. Dead wrong. Not just about this game, but also the entire Assassin's Creed series. There is really nothing so awesome about this series at all. As for this game, in case you are wondering why this is overrated, well, let's start with the gameplay. The gameplay of this game could fuel pretty much any generic action open world game. The only thing that really sets it apart from the other games in this genre is its unique Renaissance setting. Admittedly, I do like this game's Renaissance setting. It is more unique than most other games in its genre. However, the unique setting does not save this game if you ask me. As I said, the gameplay is just way too generic. Not to mention, by this point, Batman Arkham Asylum was already out, and it really made this game look bad. Also, I may or may not be the only person who has had these problems, but I also noticed dozens of glitches in this game that could only be fixed through restarting my Xbox. I've played several games with bugs and glitches in them, however, those could usually be fixed in easier ways than restarting my console. For example, on the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, if there was a glitch, I would not have to restart my PC, I would just have to restart the game. This doesn't take anywhere near as much time as restarting my Xbox, waiting for it to load, and then finally restarting the game. As for the story of this game, and the entire series, everyone keeps on telling me that it's awesome. It is not. Not by a long shot. For one, the interlocking stories set in the present and the past just make the game that much more confusing than it needs to be. Also, I'm stunned that I'm apparently the only person in the world who has realized this. The stories of these games just rip everything off. The story of Assassin's Creed II is pretty much just the Renaissance version of Batman. Some of Ezio's family members were murdered, and he rose from that to become a hero. That is exactly the same story as both Batman and Spider-Man. Their family members were also murdered, and they also rose from that to become a hero. Also, I don't see why everyone loves Ezio so much. I don't like him at all. He is pretty much just an Italian version of Spider-Man, who loves making out with women a little more. As for the story set in the present, all I can say is that it is just awful, and should just be removed from the series entirely. Not only does it make the plot more confusing, however, it is also a rip-off of the Matrix (one of the greatest Sci-Fi films ever made). It is all about the character Desmond Miles going into a computer program to gain the knowledge of his relatives, and save the world. The Matrix was pretty much the same scenario, with the main character Neo going into a computer program to save the world. As for the graphics, everyone keeps telling me that this series has quite possibly the greatest graphics ever. If you want my opinion on them, all I can say is that I don't see anything special. As a matter of fact, I'd say these graphics are **** the original Xbox. This game's graphics were so outdated for their time. I can name at least five games right now that I believe had better graphics, and came out before Assassin's Creed II (Batman Arkham Asylum, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Half-Life 2). So yeah, the graphics of this game are completely outdated. I am convinced that there is nothing, I repeat, nothing Assassin's Creed can do that no other action game can't do already. This game, no, this whole series is every bit as overrated as the entire Call of Duty franchise. The gameplay is generic, the story rips off just about everything, and the graphics are really outdated. If you are a true gamer like me, stay as far away from this game franchise as you possibly can. If you want a much better experience, buy Arkham Asylum or its sequel Arkham City. These two games have amazing gameplay, a non-cliched story, and beautiful graphics. They are definitely much better choices than any game in this series.

Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron4
Sep 17, 2013
While I think that this game is slightly better than Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, (I'm comparing the two because they were both made by the exact same developer) I don't think that it is that much better. This game also **** to tell you the truth. It has all of the same flaws as Ultimate Alliance 2, without the RPG elements. To start, the story of this game is once again good. It follows the story of X2, who is a clone of a Jedi Knight from the Clone Wars. The story is all about him, and a rivalry between him and his brother X1. X2 decided to go to the light side of the force at the end of the Clone Wars, while X1 went to the dark side. This really is a great story, and it is a shame that the great story could not be used on a better game. So no, the game does not fail with its good story. Where this game does fail is with the gameplay and graphics. The first problem is that this game is just copy and paste gameplay of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. In other words, the game still uses the overhead perspective, minus the RPG elements. This was a very bad decision, as it proves that this game company has learned nothing of its past mistakes. The way they made Ultimate Alliance 2 was terrible, and I mean terrible. They should just stop making games like it altogether. There are literally no real improvements towards this engine they used whatsoever. While this game does not have the RPG elements of Ultimate Alliance, that still does not prevent this game from ****. It actually has more shooter elements, so you'll be blasting plenty of droids and Stormtroopers throughout this adventure. These multiplayer shooter elements may be what Battlefront is known for, however, they are executed very poorly when compared to the console versions of Battlefront. One problem with this game is that it is way too easy. It is literally almost impossible to die unless you try hard enough. Another real problem with the gameplay is that it is usually quite redundant. Seriously, the entire game is based around going from land, to space, to capital ship battles. This happens on every single level of this game. It does go in a different order from time to time, however, that still does not stop the feeling that everything in this game is the same. Space is always just shooting down random enemies, and surviving for as long as you can. Land is always killing enemies, and completing objectives. Capital ship battles are exactly the same as land in the story. If the story missions aren't repetitive enough, then the multiplayer is even worse! Yes, this game does have multiplayer, however, the multiplayer ****! The maps all follow the same land, space, capital ship formula as the story, and if you can comprehend this, it is even more redundant then the actual story. Land is always trying to take over control points, capital ship is always capture the flag, and space is always shooting down a preset number of enemies. However, quite possibly the biggest problem with this game's multiplayer, is that it is nothing like the multiplayer found in the previous Battlefront games. Battlefront has always been about massive battles, this is all just 2 on 2, or even a free-for-all with four players maximum. Battlefront is supposed to be 16 on 16 or something like that. There are no free-for-alls! The graphics of this game are also terrible. They are way too pixalated, and more often then not, you will see the exact same textures used over and over. So that's my review of Star Wars Battlefront Elite Squadron. What do I have to say about it? Well it's slightly better than Ultimate Alliance 2, but not by much. This game still has all of the same mistakes as Ultimate Alliance, other then the RPG elements. There are no unlockables, the gameplay is redundant, and the graphics are terrible. All I can say is that this game is not even worth renting. Never buy this game. Stay as far away from it as possible. Stay away from games made by N-Space for your own good too. These guys developed both of these games, and they are both total garbage. They have also made tons of other crappy games. Just don't buy this game, and buy Star Wars Battlefront II instead. Battlefront II is a much better game then this toned down piece of crud.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 23
Sep 16, 2013
Before I really begin my review of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, let me just say one thing: this game totally ****! Everything about this game from beginning to end is just plain awful. Okay, admittedly not everything in this game is bad. It does have a pretty good story, which is taken from the Marvel comic book Civil War. This basically depicts a superhuman registration act (forcing the heroes to tell the entire world their secret identities) that splits the superhero community right down the middle. Some heroes joined Iron Man's side, who have registered their identities with the government. Others joined the side of Captain America, believing that registration is wrong and unfair. This starts a civil war between the two sides. This is an excellent story, and I was looking forward to seeing it in a video game. However, this is only part of the story, and it only lasts for about a third of the game. This is unfortunate, as I was looking forward to more epic battles between heroes. There is one other good thing about this game however, as it does have a pretty good amount of Marvel characters to play as. You can play as fan favorites such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and even the Hulk. However, depending on who you side with in the Civil War, you will only have access to about two thirds of the characters during this segment of the game. Even after the war, some characters can still not be played as. While the story and characters are alright, everything else about this game just isn't. The game attempts to mimic the dungeon crawling style of Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo franchise, thus making the game an overhead RPG. This is executed very poorly however. For one, if you ask me, leveling seems to have little to no effect. Even after I leveled up a few of my favorite characters, the attacks still did about the same amount of damage as before. However, that's not even the worst part about the gameplay, not by a long shot. Another problem is that the only way for your character to access his special moves is through the Nintendo DS' touch screen. This gets annoying very quickly, because for a lot of characters, you will constantly have to move your character to aim by using the DS control pad, which makes special moves tedious and nigh unusable. The game also adds something that was not in the original Marvel Ultimate Alliance, or at the very least claims to. These are called fusions. They are basically what happens when two heroes come together to combine their powers, and create an attack that destroys everything in its path. However, the heroes don't really combine their powers, at least from the ones that I have seen. It's basically just the same as two heroes executing their super moves from the original Ultimate Alliance at the exact same time. The controls of this game are also hard enough, even with the special moves and fusions only being accessed through the touch screen. I have lost count of the amount of times that I have gotten the controls mixed up in this game. Moving on to the graphics of this game, all I can say is that they are terrible. Nothing in this game really looks right. They all look too pixalated, even by Nintendo DS standards. However, the absolute worst thing about this game is its replay value. After you finish the game, there is nothing else you can do but start again. This might be good if you want to see the other ending (there are two endings for both sides of the Civil War) if you have not already. However, if you want to unlock something by playing the game again, don't even bother. This game has literally zero unlockables. There are no extra missions, no extra costumes, there aren't even digital comic books. The closest thing you get to an unlockable in this game is random upgrades scattered for your character's stats. However, since I already stated leveling has little to no effect, there is pretty much no point to getting these. So that's my review of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. All I can say is do not even waste a dime on this game, especially when there are so many much better games out there. If you want to play a good RPG, go out and buy The Elder Scrolls Skyrim or Fallout 3 for your PC or Xbox. As for this game, it is just plain awful. It is not even worth a rent. Just stay as far away from this game as possible. Heck if you still want a Marvel RPG, there are even better ones of those two. You'd be much better off buying the first game on the Xbox 360, or X-Men Legends.

Good grief, another amazing video game by VALVe! I was shocked when I heard the announcement that VALVe was publishing this game. After all, this game was originally a mod for Warcraft III, a really fun strategy game made by Blizzard Entertainment for the PC. VALVe is a company well known for their first person shooters (Half-Life, Team Fortress, Counter-Strike), so I was wondering why they were even entering Blizzard's territory with this game. My questions were soon put to rest when I played the game. All I can say is that this game is simply amazing. To start, the gameplay is a mixture between Real-Time Strategy and role-playing games. In this game however, you are not controlling your factions, you are only controlling your heroes. Basically, your heroes level up over time like in a Role-playing game, and the way you control them is like a strategy game. This is actually quite a good mixture. It worked in Warcraft III, and it works perfectly here. However, there is more to the gameplay than just that. This game pits two mighty teams against each other (the radiant and the dire). One side is noticeably more heroic, guarding a lush green forest, while the other is noticeably darker, guarding an ashen wasteland. The overall goal is to destroy the enemy team's ancient (base of operations). To do this, you really need to coordinate with your teammates, and let them know what is happening around the battlefield. I think that this is a very good approach, especially considering that the game is entirely multiplayer. The graphics of this game are also quite good. Everything is quite beautiful, and enjoyable for anyone who loves video game graphics. There is no real story to this game, which although I have criticized in the past, I don't feel the need to here. All of the characters in this game have their own stories to read if you ever want a good story in this game. There is only one real complaint that I have with this game as a matter of fact. This game does have a very steep learning curve. It is easy to learn, but incredibly difficult to master. You need to find a hero that suits your playstyle, which if you ask me, can take ages to figure out considering that there are over one-hundred of them. However, having over one-hundred heroes is not a bad thing. In fact, I'd say it's a great thing. It gives you so much more variety on what kind of hero you can play as. Overall, I'd say that this is another fantastic game by VALVe software. It is ultra-competitive, fast, furious, and one heck of a lot of fun. It's steep learning curve may be a tad bit problematic, however, that does not stop me from awarding this game with a 9 out of 10.

I can't say I really enjoy strategy games that much. Admittedly, I usually pick them up, and get bored of them really fast. However, I still play them anyway because despite how bored I get of them, I can often see where people who love this genre to death would love these games. That was the case with this game. While I got bored of it and hopped right back into Skyrim, I can totally see where strategy gaming fans will love this game. It truly is a fantastic game. It takes turn-based strategy to whole new levels. There is no real story to this game, however, it does not even need one. The story is really your own. You get to choose your own famous civilization, and set out to conquer the world through one of six victory conditions. You start out in ancient times with only one warrior and settler in most games. However, you will soon progress further to make giant civilizations that will span across the globe. The graphics and sound are also quite good. There is not a lot of detail in the graphics, however, there does not need to be any detail. The graphics are fine just the way they are. You can easily distinguish how everything looks in this game, so detail is not needed. Everything sounds just the way it should too. The game has a beautiful soundtrack, and the units also sound good. The gameplay is also very good. The game works perfectly as a turn-based strategy game. You make your decisions in turns, so you and your opponents (other civilizations) will each get a fair fight as if it were a more complicated game of chess. However, that's not to say the game is too complicated. The truth is, while this game is very advanced, it is simple at the same time. If you are unsure of what to do in the game, you can just set the difficulty level to its lowest setting, and the game will give you help by recommending certain options over others. It's one of those games that is easy to learn, but hard to master. That is probably the best thing about this game's gameplay. However, there is much more to it than that. The decisions you make can positively or negatively effect your civilization over time, and there is an almost limitless amount of decisions you can make in this game. You can form an alliance with other civilizations in hopes of having a peaceful victory in the end, or you can go to war with them to achieve a conquest victory. You can choose which technology your civilization should advance in, what landmarks it should have, what religions it should practice, and much much more. Believe it or not, there is even more to the gameplay than this. The game is also loaded with extra features. It has an encyclopedia, telling about every unit in the game, along with the history of every civilization (and yes, the history is 100% accurate). This makes the game a nice little history lesson. There are also several mods included with the game that change the way the game is played. There are some mods that follow history, such as mods that are made to completely recreate it, or a specific part of it such as World War II. There are also mods that tell a completely different story, such as a war going on between Russians, and mods that have absolutely nothing to do with history, and instead focus on a kind of fantasy. These mods included really change the game for the better. Overall, despite how bored I get of this game, it really is fantastic. I believe that every strategy gamer will love this game, and it is well deserving of a 9 out of 10.

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy9
Jun 10, 2013
This is my favorite Star Wars game of all time. It has everything that a great Star Wars game needs. It has really good gameplay, nice looking graphics, a good story, and perfect sound effects. The gameplay is great in that it really makes you feel like a Jedi. The lightsaber combat and force powers capture that feel perfectly. Whenever you use a blaster in this game, it makes you feel like you are playing a generic shooter. However, when you switch to your lightsaber, the game becomes much more like the ultimate Jedi experience. What's even better about this game is that it has the ability for your character to wield two lightsabers, or even a dual lightsaber (like Darth Maul's lightsaber from Star Wars Episode I). There are several iconic force powers in this game such as force push and lightning, as well as ones unique to this game such as drain and protect. All of this, along with dueling with Sith, battling enemy troopers, and platforming through the environments using force jumps, makes you really feel like a Jedi as you are playing this game. The graphics of this game are also quite good. They don't quite meet today's graphical standards, however, they are still good enough for a game released at this time. Everything in this game looks just the way it should in the Star Wars universe. The story, although good, is probably the low point of the game. While the story is pretty good (it's about the Sith once again trying to take over the galaxy, this time by resurrecting a Sith master), at the same time, it is way too short, and there is nothing to do in the main game once you're finished with it, unlike Just Cause 2. The reasoning for this is that the level design is a little shoddy. Some levels you can complete in just minutes, while others take a few hours just to complete. Plus, this game's difficulty is no where near as difficult as its prequel Jedi Outcast. It often took me several minutes to figure out the way out of a room in Jedi Outcast, while here, it only took seconds (just press this totally obvious switch that we did not so carefully hide, and you can move on). Moving on, this game also has terrible A.I. The enemy troops will often just shoot at you the moment they see you, and not move to cover at any time. The enemy also runs away when it feels overwhelmed, and then when it's far enough away, it will proceed to keep shooting. When it's not doing that, the enemy will just stand there and keep shooting. The only different kind of A.I. from the normal troopers is the Sith and heavy troopers. However these guys are just as bad as the troopers. The Sith often "accidentally" jump in a bottomless pit, and the heavy troopers, though stronger than normal troopers, still have pretty much the same A.I. Despite these flaws, the game is still quite excellent. I forgot to mention the sound. The sound is everything you could want from a Star Wars game. It has the right lightsaber, blaster, and environmental sound effects, as well as John William's score. Overall, I give this game a 9 out of 10. It may have many flaws, however, many of them are easily overlooked. The A.I. is the only one that I could not overlook.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion9
Jun 10, 2013
I reviewed Skyrim before I reviewed Oblivion, however, I played Oblivion first. All I can say about this game is that it is just amazing. It is not as good as Skyrim, but it is still quite good. Oblivion was the game that brought me into this amazing franchise, and is now one of my favorite video games of all time. The graphics of this game are quite beautiful. Of course they are not as good as Skyrim (not quite as realistic), but they are beautiful enough to get the job done. There is quite a bit of detail in the graphics, and it really was a graphical achievement back in 2006 when this was released. Even today, the game's graphics are still very good. The sound is good too. It's not quite as realistic as I would have hoped, however, once again, it is realistic enough to get the job done. The sound effects and voice acting are done well enough, however, the best sound in this game is the game's music. Along with this game's sequel Skyrim, this game ties with the best soundtrack I have ever heard from a video game. The soundtrack to both of these games perfectly fit the environment you are in, and add a very beautiful touch to an already beautiful game. Once again, there are several quests to do in Oblivion that each have their own story. However, I think the main quest of Oblivion might just be a tiny bit better than Skyrim. Skyrim's main quest is a bit of a cliched apocalypse prevention scenario, however, Oblivion's story has gates from Oblivion (basically hell in The Elder Scrolls lore) opening, unleashing demons. It is up to you to seal these gateways, and stop the demons from appearing. One thing that is unique about this game's story is that you are not the chosen one. Instead, you are helping out the chosen one. This may sound boring, however, it really is well done, and much more original than most video games about a chosen one (ones where your character is the chosen one). This changed back to you being the chosen one in Skyrim however. As for the gameplay, it is not Skyrim, but it is good enough. This game is also open world, just like Skyrim, and you can literally do just about anything that you want. You can even choose not to do quests if you wish. The gameplay is not much different from Skyrim at all, however, I would say that it is not quite as good. Despite combat being good, it does feel a little like you are waving your sword at thin air. It is also weird the way non-player characters change the look on their face from sad to glad mere seconds after reminding them of something bad then good. Leveling up is also quite mixed if you ask me. At the very beginning of the game, you have to choose your birthsign. You really have to be careful with this, because once you pick a birthsign, you keep it throughout the rest of the game. So there is no way you can change it in the middle of the game like in Skyrim. Despite these flaws, I can safely say that this game is fantastic. It is not as good as Skyrim, however, it is good enough to be worthy of recognition throughout the gaming community. That is why I award Oblivion with an outstanding 9 out of 10!

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim10
Jun 2, 2013
The Elder Scrolls Oblivion was the game that got me into the Elder Scrolls. However, Skyrim was the game that made my Elder Scrolls experience perfect. This game is one of my favorite games of all time, if not my all time favorite. Everything, I repeat everything about this game is just perfect. The gameplay, the graphics, the story, the sound, everything is perfect. Skyrim's graphics are quite possibly the most beautiful thing that I have ever laid eyes upon. Everything is filled to the brim with detail, is very colorful, and just downright beautiful. As for the sound, everything sounds just the way that it should. From the sound of the civilizations of Skyrim, to the wilderness, to the dungeons, to its stunning soundtrack, Skyrim is the most beautiful sounding game on the market. As for the story, that depends on what kind of story you're looking for. There are actually many stories to go along with Skyrim's many quests. Every quest has its own story to it. The main quest is an apocalyptic story line, in which you must slay an all-powerful dragon, in order to prevent the apocalypse. The faction quests all follow the same story line, in which you are the new member ****, a villain causes trouble, and you eventually work your way to becoming the leader of the guild. The types of guilds are as follows, The Companions who are the warriors of Skyrim who use brute force to kill their foes, the College of Winterhold who are the witches and wizards of Skyrim, the Thieves Guild which focuses on stealing things from others, and the Dark Brotherhood which are a group of discreet assassins who use stealth to silently kill people. You can do one, or you can do all of them, it's up to you. There are also Daedric Prince Quests which basically have you dealing with gods, and several side quests, which all have their own unique story line to them. For these reasons, the story of this game cannot be criticized, because it is actually several different story lines in one. As for this game's gameplay, prepare yourself. I'd say that the gameplay of this game is the best part of the entire game. Because of this game's open world style gameplay, you can quite literally do whatever you want. You can live your own life in the world of Skyrim. You can own a house, work at a blacksmith forge, and learn new spells just to name a few things you can do. However, if this sounds boring, there is of course far more that you can do aside from this kind of work. You can also spend your days in Skyrim battling monsters, fighting through dungeons, taking over enemy forts, and much more involving combat. Overall, I would have to say that the only real problem that I really have with this game is that it does have a nasty tendency to crash, along with having the occasional glitches such as textures not loading properly, and also things that occur in the game that should not be happening. However, these can all be fixed fairly quickly by a quick restart of the game on the PC version. I don't really have much else to say about this game, other than it is simply magnificent. Skyrim truly is one of the best, if not the best, video games ever made. It is living proof that video games can be art. From its beautiful graphics, to its amazing soundtrack, to its many stories, all the way down to its amazing gameplay, Skyrim is a must-buy, and is deserving of a perfect 10 out of 10.

Just Cause 210

I've only had this game for two days, and I haven't even beaten its story. However, I don't even have to. All I can say is that this game is just plain amazing! It is quite possibly the best video game I have ever played. In fact, the story is the one thing about this game that I would have to say is wrong with it. It sort of does have a cruddy story that is like your average B-movie, however, the story is not at all what this game is about. What this game is really about is its awesome gameplay. This game is open world, and has so much to see and do. One thing that this game definitely wanted to pull off was be like the average action movie. In fact, if I didn't know this game better I'd say that it was possibly satirizing action movies. However, I do know this game better, and I can safely say that if this game was going for being like an action movie, it undoubtedly succeeded. This game has so many different areas that make you feel like you're in a movie like Die Hard or the Expendables. The areas have several different destructible objects, enemies to fight, and make you feel like your character is an unstoppable war machine while the enemies are nothing more than mere toothpicks. There are also several elements in this game that are much like the average action movie as well. Does this game have you taking over enemy bases? Definitely! Does this game have car chases? Absolutely! Does this game have any other vehicle sections? Plenty! Does this game have high falls? Assortment of different weapons? A tropical island setting? You bet! Speaking of the island itself, let's move on to the graphics. These are some of the best graphics I have ever seen in a video game! They are very detailed, very beautiful, and very vibrant and colorful! There wasn't a single thing in this game that wasn't detailed properly. This game is a very beautiful sight indeed. The sound is also quite good. In fact, it is amazing! The explosions have a punch to them, the guns have just the right sound effects, and the vehicles sound just the way they should. One thing that people are bound to love about this game is how little emphasis it has on story. I have criticized story in the past, however, in this case I don't feel the need to do so. This game proves that a video game does not need a big emphasis on story to be good (I'm looking at you Assassin's Creed). The game's story is very short (only seven missions long), and the rest of the game is spent exploring, raiding bases, going on car chases, and completing faction missions. There are plenty of these faction missions all throughout the landscape of the island, and they are all unique, and a blast to play. Overall, I'd say, if you do not own this game, then what the heck are you waiting for? It's cheap on Steam (only $15). This game has everything that an action game junkie would want. It has a beautiful setting, little emphasis on story, and a giant emphasis on explosive, extremely fun and fast-paced gameplay! Buy this game right now if you do not yet own it. Do not hesitate, it really is that awesome!

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels5
May 22, 2013
Personally, I do not understand why people like this game so much. All I saw from this game was one big mixed bag. I think that it is slightly better than Star Wars the Clone Wars Adventures, but not better than Lightsaber Duels. Let me just start by saying if you are looking for a video game with excellent gameplay, you will not find it here. The controls are terrible. You have no choice but to use the stylus in order to play. This was the worst part of the entire game. The stylus controls just **** because they are so imprecise. It makes moving your character much more complicated than it needs to be. Not to mention, it allows you to cheat during combat by using twin stylus' to fight. I discovered that you can use twin stylus' and have the advantage every time during combat. I don't remember ever losing a fight without using dual stylus'. Along with this, there are a bunch of really boring levels starring C-3PO and R2-D2. These levels are easily the worst part of an already abysmal title. Also the graphics are also significantly inferior compared to Lightsaber Duals, but it is a handheld game, so I will cut it some slack. The sound, is decent at best. It does mimic the sounds of Star Wars pretty well. I think that it is better than Adventures because it does have a much better story. This one probably has the best story out of all the Clone Wars games. However, I still think Lightsaber Duels is slightly better because it does not have the gameplay flaws that this game has. Along with this, the graphics and sound are also far better.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive9
Apr 24, 2013
Believe it or not, I actually like this version of Counter-Strike better than its prequel, Counter-Strike Source, unlike most people who have reviewed this game in the past. When I first bought CS: Source, I really enjoyed everything about it, except for the graphics, which looked rather dated by today's graphical standards. This game updates the game's graphics, thus fixing the problem. As for the gameplay, it is the same as it has always been: fast-paced multiplayer action. That's perfectly fine, I don't think this needs to change one bit. Counter-Strike should stay this way in order to stop it from being like certain OTHER modern warfare games (I'm looking at you COD and Battlefield). This game has the classic Counter-Strike game modes of hostage rescue and bomb disposal, however, it also adds two new modes into the mix to shake things up a little. Along with these two modes, it also adds arms race and demolition. These modes manage to keep the gameplay fresh and enjoyable for everyone by awarding people with new weapons for kills. There is no story for this game, but it doesn't need one. The game is just insane multiplayer action for everyone, so a story is rather unnecessary. This game does also have issues however. The game does crash quite a bit. I'm not so sure if this is a problem just with me, or if it's for everyone, but it keeps crashing and giving me errors such as "The Steam servers are too busy to handle your request". The good news is that this game is one of the faster launching games in my Steam line-up, so this does not hurt the game very much, and it is easy to recover from a game crash such as this. However, there is also another problem. This game lacks a lot of the old maps that veteran CS:S players will have come to recognize. Valve will probably add more in with future updates, but for now, there aren't too many classic maps, and several for the new arms race and demolition modes. Lastly, despite this game being better than Source, it probably will never have the lasting impact Source left on the video game community. Source was much more influential than this game, creating an online community that is still active to this day. However, I still think that this game is better, due to the upgrades that were made on the existing mechanics of Source, along with the new modes. Overall, this game is one of the best multiplayer games I've ever played. It does nothing to reinvent the Counter-Strike franchise, but it doesn't even have to. All Counter-Strike really needed was a graphical upgrade, a few new modes, and a few more tweaks on existing mechanics, and it got it.

Brink9
Jan 25, 2013
This game is probably the most underrated video game I've ever played. I don't think I'll ever understand why everyone hates it so much. I really enjoyed my time with this game. The gameplay was a really fun mixture between single player, co-op, and multiplayer shooters, and I don't see any real flaws with it other than the A.I., which is pretty idiotic. As for the graphics, I don't see any real problems with those either. I think Brink has great graphics. They seem like a mixture between Call of Duty's realistic graphics, and Team Fortress 2's cartoony ones. Yes there are low-res textures in Brink, and yes there are a few bad texture pop-ins, but those don't ruin the gameplay experience at all. As for the story, it's meh. The good news is that it is very easy to understand. Mankind built a self-sustaining city of the future called the Ark, but this went wrong, and now two sides are fighting each other for control. One side wants to save the Ark, and the other side wishes to escape it. The bad news is that the rest of the story is filled with cutscenes that lack character development, have several plot holes, and overall are just a bunch of soldiers feeling conflicted over their cause. Since the story is easy to understand however, I wouldn't say much of this is really important. I'd say that the biggest problem with this game is that when it came out, it was worth 60 bucks, but it is cheaper now (only 20), and is now a better deal overall. This game is also even better with the Agents of Change Downloadable content pack, which only costs two dollars more. Overall, I'd say that this game is highly underrated, and deserves a second look by everyone who has played it.

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels5
Dec 1, 2012
Well, I'm doing another review for another title in the Star Wars the Clone Wars video game franchise. This is a game I got for my birthday just months after the series debuted on Cartoon Network. I was really excited to play it back then, but now I think it's one big mixed bag. It suffers from the exact same issues as Clone Wars Adventures, and has the exact same good things about it. Once again the graphics and sound are excellent. The game both looks, and sounds just like the animated series. There was no detail of this game's graphics that was left unchecked, and no sound glitches whatsoever. However, these alone don't make a game fun. For a video game to be fun, it has to have great gameplay. Unfortunately, this game suffers from utter repetitiveness. It only takes two seconds for you to realize every fight is the exact same fight over and over. Sure the backgrounds are different every time, and there are a lot of things happening in the background as you fight your opponent, but these don't help much. Not only that, but the game is way too easy. Sure there are different moves for every motion of the Wii remote, but that doesn't matter. This game's fighting mechanics are like this "Hey man! Do you want to be good at a fighting game? It's easy! Just keep waving your Wii remote like crazy, and you'll win every time!". Not only that, but this game is also a complete knock-off of other 3D fighting games such as Soul Calibur. The reason why this game is better than Clone Wars Adventures is simply because unlike Adventures, this game actually does have a story. However, the story ****! It is way too short, and it's basically the same as fighting in regular battles with other characters. Not to mention, it basically just replicates moments from the terrible movie and the awesome TV show that it is based off of, so the story is completely unoriginal. All I can say is, if you want to play an awesome Star Wars dueling game, turn the Wii off, turn on your old PC, and fire up Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy. Only rent this game if you're curious enough, and want to try it.

Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures4
Nov 30, 2012
Ah Star Wars the Clone Wars! This is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. It is now on to its fifth season, and I now have pretty high doubts that any bad video games will ever be released to tie in with it. Well what do you think?!? The Clone Wars TV series may be awesome, but almost every single video game that has ever been released to tie in with it has **** (the one exception is Lego Star Wars III the Clone Wars). This online game is no exception to the bad games that have been released for this series. The gameplay is just horrid. It's all a bunch of minigames that are nothing more than knock-offs of other games that are so much better. You start off in an online hub with a bunch of other players, just like many other MMOs. Admittedly the online hub is actually done pretty well. It's not laggy in the slightest, and it has no real bugs. So the online hub is not the problem. What is the problem is the minigames. There is a dueling minigame which doesn't really make you feel like you're dueling at all. It instead makes you feel like you're playing a bunch of quicktime events. In other words, you feel like you're watching an awesome cutscene, and all of a sudden you have to press buttons which ruins everything. Not only are you playing several quicktime events, but it ultimately doesn't feel like you're actually dueling somebody else. There is also a flying minigame, but that is basically the same thing as playing Star Fox 64 on your Nintendo 64. However, this minigame is actually the best out of all the minigames. It at least does make you feel like you're piloting a Jedi Starfighter, but that doesn't excuse the fact that it is a complete knock-off of one of the best video games on the N64. The last minigame is the minigame that is supposed to simulate battles in the Clone Wars (I forget what it is really called). However, it's really just the same thing as the average tower defense game you could already find on the internet (Bloon Tower Defense to name an example). Okay, so there are a few good things about this game. For one thing the graphics are excellent. They look very much like the show that it is based on. All of the characters look exactly how they should, along with the environments. The game certainly is a site to behold. The sound is good too. It mimics all the Star Wars noises very well, and all of the characters sound exactly as they should. However, there are many more things wrong with this game that I haven't gone over yet. If you are looking for a Star Wars game that has a great story, you will not find it here. To tell you the truth, the game has absolutely no story whatsoever! This can be good, if you are a kid! However, the absolute worst thing about this game is how much content is locked for people who just want to play this game for free. Seriously, more than half of this game's content is locked to people who aren't Jedi members. This is a huge let down. Not only that, but in case you're thinking that you can just unlock it by playing the game (as an alternative to having to buy the content) like in Team Fortress 2, you cannot do that. No, I'm not just talking about hats and weapons here, I'm talking about the best levels from all of the minigames. If you play this game for free, you will only be able to play through the first two or three levels of the minigames, which completely ****. Seriously, do I have to say anything else bad about this game as a whole? I don't think so. This is another one of Lucasarts cruddy attempts to revitalize their Star Wars video game franchise, which has been in trouble since 2007. You can thank Star Wars the Force Unleashed for that. If you want to play a good Star Wars game, just turn on your Xbox, Playstation, or PC and insert the disk for Star Wars Battlefront II. Just don't even bother with this online game, and hope that Lucasarts releases Battlefront III in the near future.

This is overall one of the best video games that I have ever played! You can literally do anything you want, and there is no story. You can put in any props, ragdolls, and npcs. You can create your own levels, funny animations, mess around, make race tracks, among thousands of other options. It also take elements from every source engine game (Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Counter-Strike to name a few), and implements them into the game. You can totally mess up Half-Life and Portal this way, which is extremely fun. The graphics are the same as just about every other Source Engine game, which are awesome. Also, if all of this wasn't fun enough, then there is also a Toy Box. Basically the Toy Box allows you to download user made creations while you play the game. These can be new maps, weapons, and entities. Overall, this is one of my favorite video games of all time, and I only wish there were more games like it!

This is one of the best superhero video games I've ever played. It really makes me feel like Batman, and gives me exactly what I want from a superhero game. Batman can roam in an open world, fight crime, and do several side missions. This solves one of my main problems with Batman Arkham Asylum, as there was basically nothing to do at the end of the game. The graphics are excellent, and perfectly replicate the dark feel of Batman. The story is also excellent, I would tell you about it, but that would attract the spoiler police! Overall, my only real problem with the game is that Batman may have finally gotten his free-roaming game, but he kind of got it a little late. After all, Spider-Man got his 7 years earlier (see my review of Spider-Man 2 the game for more details). Still, that doesn't change the fact that this game is excellent!

Spider-Man 210
Sep 4, 2012
I've played several Spider-Man games, and out of all of them, this one is still my all time favorite. This is exactly what I want from not just Spider-Man, but also every other comic book superhero. In other words, this game is a free-roaming game that allows you to roam around New York City, do story missions, and fight crime (basically a superhero Grand Theft Auto). I'm surprised that the only other superheroes who've followed this formula are Batman (Batman: Arkham City), and Hulk (Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction). Of course, the question on everyone's mouths is this. Is this idea well executed? The answer is yes. As a matter of fact, it's not only executed well, it's executed perfectly! It really does feel like a superhero Grand Theft Auto. There are several missions for not only the story, but also jobs such as delivering Pizza, and taking pictures for the Daily Bugle. Along with that, in New York City itself, there are plenty of different crimes to fight. They can be anything from saving a person from falling, to stopping an armored car robbery. The control of this game is excellent. It really makes you feel like you're Spider-Man. This is another important thing I think about when playing a superhero game. The control has to make you feel like the hero that you're playing as, and this game does that perfectly too. As for the graphics, they're decent but not perfect. I've seen far better graphics, but I've also seen far worse. The story is pretty much the same as the movie that it's based on, but expanded with extra characters. As a matter of fact, the only thing about this game that I don't like is the voice acting which is flat out terrible. Aside from that, this entire game is amazing, and is overall one of the best superhero games I've ever played (if not the best).

Okay critics, we need to have a little talk. This video game is amazing! Why did you give it mixed reviews? My only real complaint about this game is that it is way too easy. Other than that, I love it! The gameplay is excellent. You really feel like you're Spider-Man as you brawl your way through the levels swinging webs, punching villains, and executing combos. The story is an epilogue to the movie that shows what happened after the Lizard's rampage. The biological attacks on the city of New York have turned into a virus, and it is up to Spider-Man to stop it. There are many incredible twists throughout this story, and I love that. As for the graphics, they are among the best I have ever seen. Believe me, this is coming from a guy who plays a lot of video games, and praises them for their story, gameplay, and graphics. Of course I have seen better graphics than this, but not by much. Everything in this video game looks exactly the way it should from New York to Spider-Man, and I really enjoyed that. As for my overall verdict, allow me to sum up this entire review in a sentence. If you loved the movie, love Spider-Man, or are just a huge beat-em up fan, then this is your game!

Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005)9
Jun 1, 2012
Man! I have fond memories of this game. To this day, I'll remember it as the game that brought me into the world of shooting. Also, I am a huge Star Wars fan, and if you ask me, this is one of the best Star Wars games out there. The game definitely lives up to its premise of giving you the ability to live through the battles of the Star Wars films rather than watching them. The gameplay is very fun. It has you leading an entire army into battle against the enemy on various planets, with various objectives. Unlike Star Wars Battlefront, this game has more than just the standard conquest mode. It also has one and two flag capture the flag, among many more fun modes. It also has a pretty fun campaign that has you playing as the 501st clone legion. The graphics of this game are decent, but nothing special. Although it does a pretty good job of representing the Star Wars universe, the graphics are nothing compared to games such as Half-Life. The sound of this game represents the Star Wars universe very well too. Everything in the game sounded very much like sounds that you would hear in the Star Wars universe. One of the game's major flaws is the A.I. It acts really stupid and goes "Ooh! I just spawned! I must find the player and shoot him! I will take him down even though all of his allied players are shooting at me with horrendous accuracy, tendency to just randomly walk into walls, and run into my fire!". That is a perfect description of the A.I. of this game. Also, I have not played the game in multiplayer, but from what I hear, it is terribly laggy and ****. Other than those two flaws, the game is very good. It's just a shame that the game's developer went out of business. I would've loved a Battlefront III!

This game is just amazing! I have had a lot of fun with this game. I really like how it depicts a more violent side of Star Wars. There is loads of blood and gore, intense violence, and even a bit of language to make this game feel different than most Star Wars experiences. There is even a bit of humor from your squad-mates to go along the way. The AI of this game is absolutely fantastic. If you order your troops to do anything, then they will do it without question. You can hear the enemies giving orders as well. The Unreal engine is used very well. It made the game look and feel great. The physics of the game are as realistic as the feel of the soldiers. However, this game is not without its flaws. My only real complaint about this game is that it is way too short. The campaign is something you could speed through in just 10 hours. Unless, of course, you're the kind of gamer who makes many mistakes. The multiplayer experience overall, is just average. The multiplayer here is no different from the kind that people have come to see from games such as Team Fortress 2, or Halo. Other than those two flaws, the game is very good.

This game goes beyond words by how amazing it is. I actually like this game better than The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (mostly because I **** at that game). Everything about this game is just about perfect. The gameplay, the graphics, the music (what little there is), the story, everything. What really disappoints me is that once games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Halo 3 came out, everyone seemed to forget about this near perfect game. Why this is disappointing is because this game is actually better than both of them. To be honest, this is not my favorite video game of all time. Super Smash Bros. Brawl still beats it. However, it doesn't beat this game by much. When the chips are down, this game could still top most competition. I really want the Halo and Call of Duty fans to try this game out, and see if this is really better than both of those games. If you are one of those fans, and you have tried this game out, say yes if this game is really better than Halo or Call of Duty. If it's not better to you, say no, or don't vote at all. It's your choice.

This is one of the best shooter games that I have ever played (if not the best)! It's so great that it's really hard to describe into words. What I really have to like is the graphics. I think that the animated graphics are so great that it may even put Pixar to shame. However, the gameplay is where this game really shines. I had a lot of fun mowing down thousands of enemies as a heavy, completing hard objectives as a scout, and using total stealth as a spy. As for the gameplay modes, I'm happy they just stuck to the classic capture the flag, payload, and control points rather than coming up with something new. If they just did something new, I probably wouldn't have liked it as much. My only real problem with this game is the lack of a mini-map. It is really hard to navigate through the battlefield without one. However, the rest of the game more than makes up for this. Before I played this game, I had also played Star Wars Battlefront. Star Wars Battlefront is amazing, but if you ask me, its got nothing on this. To here I thought Star Wars Battlefront was this good; I stand corrected.

Mario Kart 78
Dec 26, 2011
Mario Kart 7 is another very good entry into the Mario Kart series. The graphics of this game are among the best on the 3DS, and the game is very fun too. In this game, you can create your own kart to suit your needs, and go out to win a Grand Prix. There are a few new gimmicks to note as well. There are hang gliders now, which allow you to glide in the air, and you can now go underwater. Both of these gimmicks make the game far more interesting. The new courses have been created specifically so you can get a feeling for both gimmicks. The controls of this game are no different from any other Mario Kart game, and that's another thing that makes this game great. The graphics of this game are very bright and colorful. By 3DS standards, they're amazing. However, there are also a few criticisms to this game. The first thing is that there is no versus mode. This made me very disappointed because that was my favorite mode of the regular DS version. In versus mode, you were able to start your own Grand Prix, and choose the settings to fit your needs. You could choose the A.I. level, the rules, the engine size, the number of races needed to win, and whether or not you want a team. The 3DS version doesn't have this. It probably has it in multiplayer only now, but I don't play the game on multiplayer so this is a let down for me. Also, the game may have a customizable car, but the rest of the options are limited to what you can change within the game. The rest of the game more than makes up for this short-coming. However, if I had to pick a favorite, I'm afraid I'll have to say that Mario Kart DS is better than Mario Kart 7. Mario Kart DS has more customizable options, has a versus mode, and still stays true to the Mario Kart formula. Mario Kart 7 is a very good game overall, but if you want something better, buy Mario Kart DS instead.

LEGO Battles8
Oct 24, 2011
This game is by no means a perfect game, but it's not nearly as bad as what most of the critics say. The first thing worth noting is that this game is nothing like the Lego games that have come out earlier (Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, etc.). Where those games were more on arcade style action, this one is real time strategy, a game genre that is usually only available on computers. This, however, came out on the Nintendo DS. Surprisingly, for a genre that's more popular on computers, they actually did a pretty decent job. Of course, this game would be so much better on a Windows, but this strategy game is still pretty good on the DS. This game may be different then Warcraft, but it still has a few tricks up its sleeve. It has a lot of funny cutscenes, great gameplay moments, and fun campaigns. However, the gameplay, while it's fun, does have its faults. As I said earlier, the campaigns are enjoyable, but the instant action battles leave a lot to be desired. They can be very short, and often times boring. The campaigns more then make up for this however. The graphics could be better, but I still like them anyway. The pixelized graphics are alright, but they do lack detail. I think that this game is totally underrated.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords8

This game isn't nearly as good as the first one. Too me this game is just flat out unfinished. The graphics aren't nearly as good as the first one, the game play is exactly the same as the first one, and the story is way too dark and Gothic for my taste. If this game had only finished development, it would have been so much better. To be fair, this game was made by a completely different company than the first game, so I'll go easy on them. While I don't like this game, I'd still say that there's still enough charm in it to be worth a rent. Otherwise, just stick to the first KOTOR, and only play this if you're curious as to how the sequel really is.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game9
Oct 11, 2011
This game is just sick! It's not as good as Lego Star Wars 3, but it's still amazing! I like how it went back to puzzle game play rather then the total warfare of Lego Star Wars 3. The graphics aren't any different from the other Lego games in the series, but that doesn't mean they're bad. The graphics are quite good as usual. As for the game play, it's basically a traditional Lego game that holds little difference from the other games in the series. The game play doesn't need to change however. The company obviously wants to appeal to a more casual audience. I'm really happy about that because I'm a casual gamer. However, the game feels like a step backward in the series. I may have criticized the war style of Lego Star Wars 3 earlier, but to be honest, I actually like Lego Star Wars 3 better. To be fair, I'd recommend both of these games to anyone however.

Marvel Super Hero Squad1
Oct 11, 2011
This video game just stinks! It's absolutely horrendous! I can't believe my parents wasted their money to get me this game (I don't blame them personally because I'm the one who played it). The game play is just terrible! It looks just like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, only a cruddy version of it. The control of this game makes it seem like it was designed by an alien with multiple hands, whereas the control of Smash Bros. is what made it so much fun to me. This turned Marvel Super Hero Squad into a cruddy knockoff of an amazing game. The story of this game is exactly the same as the TV show it's based off of. The story is that Dr. Doom **** an artifact of great power during a battle with Iron Man called the Infinity Sword. Now the heroes, and the villains are working to gather all the fragments of it in order to recreate it. The story may be a lot like the show, however, there is little to no humor in it whatsoever. I wouldn't mind so much, except that the show has loads of humorous moments. The thing that really kills this game is the graphics. The graphics are much like the Virtual Boy. They aren't black and red, but they can actually cause headaches like the Virtual Boy. Yes, I'm dead serious. It's happened to me. After experiencing a headache, I turned off the game, and played Super Mario 64 DS instead. This was because I knew that there would be no way I could ever get a headache from that game. As for Super Hero Squad, this game is just terrible. It's not even worth a rent. If you're thinking about getting this game for your kid, don't even bother. There are so many much better games you can get than this. You should get Super Smash Bros. Brawl instead. For a teen rated game, it's actually quite tame, and it might actually be suitable for children. You can get them whatever you want, but just stay away from this hunk of crud.

Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption9
Oct 3, 2011
This expansion pack to an already good game had a lot going for it, and succeeded. This made an already good game even better. It adds a brand new side never seen before called the Zann Consortium, so many new units to already existing sides, and a brand new story. This expansion didn't change the game play much, but it hardly needed an upgrade considering that it was already amazing. I did notice the graphics were different. They were more bright and polished than the first game. As for the story, it's just a typical revenge story where Tyber Zann (leader of the Consortium) wants revenge on Jabba the Hutt for locking him up in prison. This story is still good, but nothing Star Wars hasn't seen before. I would've given this game a 10, but there are a few problems that I just can't get over. The first is that when you're fighting the Consortium as the Rebellion or the Empire, it's just so unfair. This is because (please don't make me say Consortium again) they have advanced weaponry much more advanced then the Rebels and Imperials. This makes the game unbalanced. The space battles haven't gotten any better, as a matter of fact, they've only gotten worse. In the original, they were fun, but they only lasted five to seven minutes. Here they last only a measly two to four minutes. These faults don't ruin the game, but if they were fixed, the game would become so much better.

Star Wars: Empire at War9
Oct 3, 2011
This is simply an amazing game! I just can't put it down! I really like how it is basically a strategy game for both beginners, and experts. The game play is very good, and it suits expert strategy gamers, without going so hard on beginners. I think that this could be the best Star Wars strategy game out there. Then again, I actually like Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds better, but that's not to say that this game is terrible. The one thing that's better from Galactic Battlegrounds is the graphics. Battlegrounds was 2D, while everything here is 3D. Not to mention that it has a game engine of its own, where Galactic Battlegrounds works on the Age of Empires engine. However, there is one thing that I don't like about Empire at War, and that's the space battles. The battles, when playing in instant action mode, last only a measly seven minutes, where the ground battles last up to thirty! However, that problem doesn't totally ruin the game. It's still a good game nonetheless.

Disney/Pixar The Incredibles8
Sep 27, 2011
This game just doesn't get enough credit. To me it's one of the few movie games that actually doesn't stink. I think that it's good, and I really like it. Lets start with the game play. This game is fun! I really like just beating the crud out of bad guys, and solving a few puzzles along the way. The story of this game is basically the story of the movie, with a few parts never seen before, such as when you chase Bomb Voyage for the first three levels of the game. While there are a few moments in those levels that are also from the movie, most of it is very different. Also, when Mr. Incredible is fighting through a burning building, he finds out exactly what's causing it to burn, but that would be a spoiler. The only thing really wrong with this game is the graphics. The graphics are alright, but they do look really weird. They look like the movie, but not in the way people would like to think. This game would be a good game to try for anyone, especially people who love the movie like me.

This game is easily one of the greatest video games ever made. It's just amazing! Let's start with the gameplay. The gameplay is top notch! It's so much fun and addicting that no one will ever want to put it down. It's a huge improvement over the first game (even though the gameplay for the first one was still great). This one includes Yoshi, and this is by far Yoshi's best game with Mario yet. The graphics are great too, especially by Wii standards. Every single detail of this game makes it look more like an X-Box 360. However, this game is nothing like anything on the 360, it's even better! While not my personal favorite game (Super Smash Bros. Brawl still beats it), it's still an incredible game. My description of this game, in the words of Sonic Colors, Good! Great! Awesome! Outstanding! Amazing!!!!

James Cameron's Avatar: The Game3
Sep 14, 2011
Talk about a huge disappointment! In case you're wondering what I mean, this game was originally meant to be good. The developers of this game said that this game was going to be one of the few movie games that wouldn't stink! This was in an issue of Nintendo Power. Then, the very next issue, the review came. This is what they thought of it, "Despite its claims to the contrary, Avatar the Game is exactly what we've come to expect from a movie game. In other words, it's completely mediocre". They gave this game a five out of ten. I however, disagree with them. I think it's far worse! I played this game over at a friend's house, and I thought it totally stunk! We played this game in multiplayer where player two has no choice but to follow the first player, which is very boring. This game is very redundant too. All you do is go through forest until you come across a human base. Then you have to sabotage it. There are also flying stages, but those are just as redundant. The camera angles are what really kill this game however. The angles will cause the death of you more time than not! It's especially bad in multiplayer. Fans of the movie had better stick to the movie because this game totally stinks!!!

Disney/Pixar Finding Nemo0
Sep 13, 2011
Quite possibly the worst game I've ever played (I know E.T. and Superman 64 are worse, but I haven't played those). This game is a complete piece of crud. The first thing worth noting is its difficulty. It's usually unfair to judge a game by its difficulty, however, this game is literally impossible! There is one level I can never get past because it's so freaking difficult! You're supposed to race Dory in this level, but she goes so fast that it takes her only seconds to get to the end, and it would take you minutes! In other words, the game is literally cheating on you! The graphics aren't very good either. While not nearly as bad as the game play itself, they're still pretty bad! It's like some little kid rolled a ball of play-doh, and a random guy walked up to them said "That looks great! I'll use it for the game I'm making!". That's my theory on it anyway! If you really like Finding Nemo, go see the movie, and stay away from this piece of crud!!!!!!!!!!!

This is easily the greatest fighting game I've ever played. There are very few flaws with this that don't overshadow the rest of this experience. In fact, this is also the best video game I've ever played. I'm really not kidding here, this game is better than Mario and Zelda. In fact it's both of these games plus more games by Nintendo in the mix. However, it also adds Sonic the Hedgehog, and Solid Snake which aren't Nintendo characters (which is a good thing), along with their own stages. Add the characters with the stages, features, adventure mode, and every other great feature, and you've got yourself an absolutely perfect game.
