The problem of Fallout 4 and MGSV is very similar that they both overly emphasis on leveling, collecting and mission part in contrast to GTAV and Witcher 3 that are more focusing on the own story of independent protagonist. In Fallout4 and MGSV, what I feel about protagonists is more like a worker ordered to finish bunch of repetitive missions. The protagonists are lack of self motivation and purpose of living, and thus not able to build/push their own story ahead but to be an object/interface that you use to access the virtual world. In other words, they are inferior, relentless and neglectable, and I feel their story are mostly stiffly padded by narrates rather than developed during the progression of the their own doing. In GTAV and Witcher3, dev put more work on depicting the mental development as the result of the surrounding events, and the story is actually progressed by the ambition and action of protagonist self. You can annotate this as that they are more susceptible/sensitive to the surrounding and have strong desire to achieve something mentally and independently. These makes a much more vivd and motivated feeling of a real human you are playing and experiencing a true life from him who want to do some amazing things to make himself unique, rather than a robot thrown into a open world to serve as a slaver. Nowadays, the in-game world is exaggerated to a distorted proportion to characterization. In the extreme form, we know its called sandbox which some devs think is the future, but no! Not only the current and near future tech is far from enough to make player self to create a memorable and wholesome character in game, also it will be a tragedy if that becomes true. We don't want an object to control but a human with story to experience. After all, Fallout 4 failed to create a protagonist who should act as an independent, self-motivated and susceptible real HUMAN and an engaging story struggled by the protagonist's own ass out. Next time, please focus on characters rather than just that open world.

Fallout 4 is again a giant company created vast but empty world with bunch of repetitive stuff generated by some randomization, permutation and fractal algorithms which once set, can automatically create endless emptiness abyss in which you never feel enough playing yet can't feel sth with true significance. Killing and rooting are more than 90% of the whole experience while the actual meaningful story is no more than what a decent indie game can deliver, not mention to almost no innovation but just old ideas reused again. The game may deserve $15 like a indie game, but considering its potential high sales figure, its price should be even lower. Thats why I'd rather spend my time on indie games majority of which are still HAND-MADE and full of meaningful and innovative content that is even short but let me feel mentally rewarded after experiencing. A game shouldn't be qualified by its size and playing time but the actual content hand-made by human in heart. I don't very care how high level or score I can reach, how many shiny badges collected. These are all meaningless afterwards. What I really want is a truly amazing story that can move, inspire and even blow my mind away. After 7 years, still can't figure that out at all? Let me be clear, the term "open-world" is **** by Bethesda again. By the way, if you really care about that customizable construction and weapon system, why don't buy/rent game dev kits which give you true access to large resources, free configuration and much more user-friendly UI to fully release your creativity to craft a really private world or even a game. Do yourself a favor not to waste time on that crappy and painful crafting system in the game. Its not meant for a even casual creator.

So far so good, I have entered into Theta. I like the story paving, well layered, integrated/centralized and interesting/weird but easy to understand. At proper times, you get to know bit more that contributes to the main theme. Nowadays, devs like Chinese Room like to use fractionalized story telling which is really confusing and sometimes makes no sense, instead, SOMA's story telling is like a constant reward during progression to let you step by step know more useful about what is actually happening (You get meaning why you play the game over time!). No f**king jump scare. SOMA immerses you only with atmosphere and implied visional/sound effect which are not utterly scary, but keep in at a certain stress level which is just enough for me. (Only the **** screen is extremely horrible, horrible but still it doesn't damage neuron like f**king jump scare as you can prepare to choose not to look at it). Hum, I would say it is a walk-simulator, but SOMA is just that good to experience, because its story is really worth it. Some problems: I've crashed 3times, please fix the issue ASAP. I have to quit to main menu after manual save? Some of the textures are out-of-date. Overall, SOMA is a carefully crafted interactive sci-fic thriller with nice story, paving and just on spot stress to squeeze your adrenaline in a health way while making you think a bit deeper how our world actually works. Plus, some of the most interesting things are the Kill/Not Kill choices you made (They are subtle. You will know when you play). Unknow how they have effect on the end. Let us see. I feel the choices are to test your morality, but either way has reasonable excuse to choose. A real dilemma.

After several-hours playing, I think I have to down-grade the game from 10 to ... because I have almost lost motivation to continue on those sprinkled and repetitive missions with our bounty hunter. I've no compliant on its gameplay design which is nearly perfectly crafted except for a bit of lack of environmental variation and the base accessibility(I mean although the base is huge but not very explorable inside it). After all, for pure gameplay, You are guaranteed by the game. However, where are those signature high quality cutscenes, emotional speeches, most importantly inspiring story and our hero? Even the main mission line contains lots of trivial events, and also the story itself is not that moving as usual. It seems you are only a relentless robot-like bounty hunter paid to finish bunch of repetitive missions without a reason. Also, the Kiefer Sutherland voiced Big Bose seems very not in his play in sharply contrast to other roles and IV's David Hayter voiced Solid Snake. Not only does he merely speak, but also speaks like reading script... It seems everything is carefully crafted but the story. It seems every actor/actress got into their roles but the protagonist. It would be so fun to play the game if it has a reason and inspiration, but no! because it loses heart. I am so disappointed to you, Hideo.

Too long conversation, too slow path, just like torture for my patience. Too slow walking speed, there's neither fast travel nor speedy transport that I have to repeat walking through the same routes n times to get to check points. Feels like I was teased by the dev, but yes, dont forget to upgrade Feet work in Swordsmanship Tree ASAP, then dodging the whole map eases travel a bit only if your 'space' button is tough. Scattered and interweaved plots cannot engage me into the story and usually make me feel confused and directionless. The menu system is designed very poorly in almost every aspect. Too many to point out. For example, have to access alchemy, character and drinking portions via meditation. Extra layer that lows the speed of access. Items cannot be indexed, and are displayed only as list, making it difficult to have an overview and localization. When refining a specific portion, there is no way to know how many it I have had, Plus no way to skip the annoying drinking animation. Of course, the response of the whole menus is relatively lagging. To get orientation in the game is frustrating. The mini map is almost useless that can only give a yellow arrow. My question is if terrain is so unclear on that mini map, why use it to fold a bit view instead of just giving us an arrow? Put it simple, the only way to make me directional is to press 'm', but for every several steps I have to press it....which is fatiguing. Maybe 2/3 time is spent on menus operations, walking and conversation.

Braid is the most inspiring game I've ever played. Not to mention its brilliant merge of gameplay and story telling, I certainly receive some important messages from the subtle but eloquent story that could direct my life into better way. I really appreciate the authors' sensitive insight into the very minutiae of life, vivid and inspiring. Thanks. For me, the story, the truth and the philosophy it reveals achieve the game maybe because I have similar experience as the author as I am always doing sth I think are more important than others, but maybe I am wrong. Time and young never stop elapsing, sth missed and abandoned because of my inexperience and stubbornness will never come back again, but I have to grow from that. Do right thing in right time, you will live longer and happier. And remember those minorities devote their whole life doing the 'WRONG ' things for a better future of all of us. God bless them.

This is the MOST repetitive game I have ever ever played. And the game has lots of annoying inconvenience. For example, you can only craft advanced items near a science machine, forcing you to build lots of machines over the map if you don't want to waste time traveling far back to a machine, but the trade-off is repeatedly picking and chopping materials for a new machine. The map is unnecessarily big. What is worse is the map is randomly created each time, so for every new game, you have to waste lots of time to investigate where to go for certain materials. And there is no way for fast travel except those randomly set bug holes. The most annoying thing is storage. The portable bag storage is far from enough, so I always have to drop this for that, and when I need this, I have to recollect (of course you can remember the place you dropped the items then travel far back to re-pick them yet wasting time). The ridiculous is that the materials will never be rotten(never disappear on ground) and you cant move a chest, so the chest for extra storage totally doesn't make sense. Just think when you want something stored in a particular chest you have been very far from it, so what is difference between storing materials in chest and dropping them on ground? Most of time, I feel I am just doing the same thing again and again rather than the sense of progression.

As a player from Civ5, I feel bored sorry because there is almost nothing new for mechanism. The game is like an official Mod upon Civ5 with a Sci-fi skin, considering the earth is still that earth just decorated with some bizarre and dark green stuff, and upgrade trees are changed by Sci-fi tokens but structures are almost the same. Personally, the most disappointed thing is that as a space Sci-fi, there is not hierarchy of space and land to switch and interact between, as I said you are just on Weird Earth rather than Beyond Earth. I confess I am a bit superficial, but not upgrading graphics is also not a wise decision. Still a very detailed game. But I feel it lack of innovation and like a slow paced Starcraft 2. In this fast paced society, I doubt majority could be patient to play it, not to mention old players who have been familiar/bored with Civ5. I wish the dev could be more creative be beyond the franchise.

Good in every way. I hate open-world or branch structured which is in its nature very repetitive and wastes much time to explore meaningless gadgets, although some people call it freedom...... Metro last light is very linear and is just like an interactive movie, but with decent story length more than 10 hours. There is no side mission to distract you. You always feel progressive when playing but not in a haste way. It gives you a very balanced tempo, every time after intense battle, there is a distinctive refuge for you to have a deep stretch. In the refuge you can wander, listen to other's conversation, trigger funny mini scripts, improve your weapons, and then go on your journey. The atmosphere is like The Last of Us, but more dark, muddy, creepy, polluted, and with advanced game engine, it immerses you. I think the game is very optimized. Using gtx 760 to play at ultra setting is without any glitch and still has margin.

Not replayable. Why? because, except for their leader appearances and city overviews, all civs are almost the same, same improvement, same policy, same research, same army... After knowing this fact, you will know how hollow this game is and no any desire to play the game again using other civs. In addition, the battle part is indeed the game's weakness, you have to control every army one by one and see their laggy animations. When in later game, this is more disturbing so that I just gift most of them to city states. IMO, This game is about parameters balancing (you play with numbers), mainly food, culture, science, gold and fairy. you control them by actions, mainly building, diplomacy, research and policy. And you enjoy how wonderful values you can achieve. So, if you prefer more direct stimulation like graphics diversity in many RTS games, Civ is not for you. In graphics, Civ looks very repetitive. The difference between civs are distinct parameter enhancing.

This time, mainly thanks to graphics tech, the city - Seattle is more diverse and dimensional than New Orleans in Infamous 2, but still lack of vitality. I am still disappointed with the fact that there is almost no inside-building elements, the casual things you can do are very limited only with side missions so repetitive, and citizens are pretty dumb and mindless. If dev could create 20-30 unique side missions with characteristic citizens sprinkled on the city, the city could be much vivid. A good thing about the city is its changeable atmosphere during storying going, not automatically. There are rain, fog, sun day, dawn, noon, dusk and night, which are very contrasted one another and immersing. The story is childish, but telling is smooth. Main missions still can't escape me a feeling of going from one checkpoint to another and doing the similar things agin and again. Some other things i like are Doodle, climbing on Space Needle and insane power, which will be lift in my mind for a while. But it is so regretting that the city is hardly destroyable, or ranged power could be much much more enjoyable. I give the game around 6.5/10, compared to Infamous 2.

The biggest hyped thing - graphics - is not that true, because Anti-Alising is lacking, and light effect is too exaggerated that hurts my eyes. This is so unbearable, because if I turn down the light of display, then other things become too dark . What should I do? Last thing, although more advanced graphic engine is used, the graphic effect is even much less realistic than KZ2, so, no immersing battle atmosphere is in this game. The characters and dialogues are so so blank and forgettable except for that insane terrorist, ironic. Especially that black man who seems just hasty to finish his voice acting job then earn his income ASAP with no any enthusiasm and understanding on his character. Sadly, most of time, you have to listen to his sermon. The metal bug mate is so annoying. It executes your order after seconds delay. Usually during the delay, you game over. I really like KZ2, and also I really don't like KZ3. Now, Shadow Fall IMO is even worse than KZ3. This game leaves me a very hollow feeling. And in Crysis 3, I start to hate the hero, because he is so ego rather than a devoting virtue in Crysis 2. The story becomes purely non-sense and messy. The gameplay is less than 5 hours. It is no doubt this game does very well on gameplay with much more weapons, abilities and enemies than the first Bioshock. This does not only mean improvement in quantity but also in quality because All these more are well functioned so you can enjoy killing in various ways for more fun. The trade off is the style changes a lot from the first Bioshock, which makes me a bit disappointed . This one is much more inclined to action adventure (yet still very firm-noir), while the first one is more psycho-horror. Another thing the game does very well is that the artistic and layered environment is always changed in different chapters, thus sustaining you excitement and curiosity, while the story is very weak, which I almost didn't care about. The most disappointing thing is that the introduction of psycho power of the heroine to bridge different worlds (Do you remember in the trailer where the heroine relives a horse and transfers an incoming train?) was the most anticipating aspect for me, but ends up with just some cheesy weapon transfer ability in the real game execution. It seems the dev has a good idea at first, and then just cannot figure out how to well integrate it into gameplay. Plus, even in the cutscene, the psycho power is never showed again if I still remember it.

Really a tough job to finish the game. One of the most boring game on PS3 I ever played. My feeling about the game is just spot as described in "deathsmiles"'s review. This game is just about running from a checkpoint to another and repeating beating similar gangs again and again in a very bland and lack-of-interactive small town. You even never expect combat inside buildings except in some shabby factories. These gangs are just stupidly standing on the corners of streets and waiting for you coming to trigger their script like robot. The idea of open world simply does not work in the game because such a flat city(sorry, a small town) will not ignite your any interest to explore, such as just crust of crap buildings no way to enter, only 3-4 very outdated car models also no way to drive, NPCs lack of emotion, meaningless side missions... All these give me a feeling that this town is like a piece of . Another thing makes me very feel wired is that the art style of the city seems like sth from a hybrid of med century and industrial era (but after all, it is a bit confusing that what the hell the era is the town in. The minimum is that the town is really shabby, lack of reality and diversity)..., but does the story happen on a modern era? This is too contradicted, isn't it? Yes, I know, because designing a more sophisticated and based-on-reality world needs more efforts on inspection in the real world like what Rock Star have to do, and also needs much more art and engineering job to digitize elements into game, lazy first for infamous' developer.

Unbelievable for the high reviews. Don't you find this game has very little content, but self copy again and again like bacteria so as to create an epic elusion? That's true there are many mini games sprinkled on map...randomly..., but every time you play it, it just repeats the same animation. More annoying is that you have to waste time very long to finish one. Naval battle is in fact very boring, what all you do is just playing circling game with rival ship to find a good angle to shoot, again and again. If you want to board, you have to waste another 10 mins, during which you just encounter same enemy, same animation, same music and same boarding missions, utterly boring and annoying. But in return, you only gain double loot. The loot is just a form of EXP for your ship, nothing special. So I prefer directly wrecking the rival ship, then gaining even half loot spending just 5 seconds. The environment is really visually-tiring, just same coastlines with randomly planted trees. The city is very flat, constructed with several pattern of normal buildings randomly composed, Nor historical landmarks or classical/elegant internal architecture at all!!!(Recall what was in AC II is so memorable). The designer boasts the environment is epic... Don't fool us, designing this random and repetitive will cost you very little efforts, you know, lazy. We want diverse and elegant content. I have to say, in AC II, climbing to the peak of buildings to overlook the city is my favorite. However in AC IV, I never do this again because of the so lack-of-characteristic scene. What about main story? I have forgotten most of it. What is left is just some repetitive trailing and killing missions. In addition, a strong anxiety/confusion is why the hell does he wear like an assassin? The confusion makes me very lack of motivation to continue the game because, in instinct, a strong feeling is that he has no soul of assassin which however is forced to be titled on him by dev so as to be coherent with the franchise. After a 4-hour playing, I felt this game is very shabby and hollow, full of random and repetitive mechanism, lack of soul of assassin, with little and tricky effort from dev who seems to have found a lazy way to create an addictive game. IMO, it is reasonable for a game to have a certain amount of random and repetitive mechanism to extend gaming time and save cost for dev, but in AC IV , this conduct is too obvious, excessive and aggressive. In other words, the dev are taking customers as fool. This is unacceptable. I tried this because of good impression from AC II. Ok, now, I know this franchise has faded. Good bye.

When I was playing the game, I always ask myself: why I have to wear like an assassin? The pirate part is not bad for me, but I am soon bored with flat sea face, and you will soon be bored with The naval battle under same pattern. Since Silver/Gold (precious memory in my childhood), I haven't played the series. In fact, I have longtime left the Nintendo family. This time I am advertised by the 3D feature, so I bought a 2DS for playing the game. Honestly speaking, I cannot find the full feeling after playing it as Silver, I mean X/Y is a forgettable game, but I admit X/Y is qualified and innovated some how. What I feel disappointed in the game are: I cannot capture all the pokemons in the game; Plot is very mediocre; Post game is boring; Wifi battle only supports up to 2v2. I think if 4v4 available, will be much more fun; Frame rate drops significantly when 2v2, which is very annoying. Overall, 8.5, honestly speaking. The reason I give 10 is that at least when I was playing it, I really enjoyed.

Wow, the atmosphere is classic, the scenery is elegant. I am waiting for such a game so long time. Maybe I am a bit out of date, but this is really my style. The only thing I don't like is the character setting, too cute.
