Alejandro Iñárritu brings the brutal story of Hugh Glass to life in a magnificent film. The Revenant is intense and dramatic and keeps you entertained for most of it. For many of the important scenes the film relies more on the intensity and action of the scene rather than using music, this is good as it makes you feel more for the characters. DiCaprio and Hardy are spectacular actors and they really show off there skills in this film. As well as them Poulter and Gleeson portray there characters well. DiCaprio makes you feel many emotions throughout from sadness to hatred. This is a fabulous film to kick start 2016. The only problem with the film is the fact that it drags on a lot longer than it should and has you almost itching for it to end. However it is still a definite watch!

The Force Awakens from the great director J.J Abrams is a great start to the new trilogy and exceeded my expectations. He has brought the series back to life in a fabulous way. It incorporates a mix of new characters and old characters, which is important to the film's story. Ridley and Boyega are both great actors who portray Rey and Finn well. Also Han and Chewie had a good and needed return. The main villain Kylo Ren was not quite as scary as Darth, however, he was intimidating and ruthless, just like a villain should be. Saying this though, Driver was an awful pick to portray him while not in the suit. I personally think he looked like an older teenager. Apart from this it was though. While the film was not as good as the original, it was better than all the prequel trilogy films combined. And of course it is worth a watch.

Mockingjay Part 2 is a film that manages to keep you entertained, however, it does not keep you on the edge of your seat. The acting of Lawrence and Hutcherson was fantastic, playing there characters exceptionally well. Harrelson and Banks were great however they where kept underused in the film. I found that the film was exciting but it lacked a lot of intense action scenes that I was hoping for. It's start was especially slow and I think they could of recapped the key points from Part 1 a lot quicker. It also wasn't just Haymitch and Effie who were underused it was many of the main characters. Part 2 is defiantly the worst film of the series and I was hoping for a better ending but it is worth a watch when it comes onto DVD.

The Martian uses amazing special effects and completely captures the audiences attention throughout the whole film, not once did I find a boring moment. It uses a lot of very mixed emotions which are not overpowering to the films main plot. It is casted brilliantly and from directing to photography everything is done so well. The only bad thing I can say about this film is some of the things they said were a bit confusing but that is extremely minor. For me this film is in my top 10 films of 2015.

De Niro and Hathaway suit the roles of there characters perfectly in The Intern, which makes this film worth watching. But, the fact that the actual main plot of the is quite similar to other films, makes it a bit boring to watch is some parts. I also found that there was way too much adverting, every where you looked, Apple, Apple, Samsung, Apple, HP. The film isn't bad but it is not fantastic either.

Everest's highlights is that it is so well filmed it makes you feel as if it is actually filmed on Mt Everest and it greatly depicts the actually events that happened in 1996 using there fantastic ensemble cast. However I found that the film was great lacking a sense of drama and some of the cast like Knightley seemed to sound more Australian than Kiwi. After watching the trailer I was expecting a more high intensity film which I didn't quite get when seeing the actual film. It is worth seeing but don't have your hopes too high.

Mad Max: Fury Road has been said to be one of the best action films ever made, and this is very true. Hardy, Theron, Hoult and Keays-Byrne make a fantastic ensemble cast and the thing that makes this film so good is they stick to a simple plot. Meaning they can completely focus on making the brilliant action scenes that are executed amazingly. This film is a must watch!

In this action adventure; there are some exhilarating action scenes that have you on the edge of your seat and on top of this it is nicely directed and produced. The downfalls of The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials is the fact that it's highly predictable and in quite a few parts of the film they use ideas that have already been done in pretty much every other dystopian/apocalyptic film.

This film may have an amazing use of special effects but the boring storyline that could have been easily more action packed spoiled it. The whole film is basically 'The Rock' moving from one vehicle to another until he eventually saves his daughter in a not even a tiny bit exciting ending. This film could of been much more suspenseful and could of used a better director and a few better actors.

This film is entertaining and action packed like every good superhero film should be. It has spectacular special effects which gives this film a couple of extra points for me. The only negative things I can say is the plot is exactly like every other superhero film out there, Villain wants to take over the world and the superheroes stop them. Also this film had a completely unneeded use of advertising.

Jurassic World could be said as one of the best films this year. Although the special effects were spectacular, the cheesiness and the fact its plot was very similar to the original took down two points for me. Nothing can beat the original film as it was such a big and new idea that had never been done before, unlike now since Jurassic Park first aired there has been many films about dinosaurs good and bad.
