While not quite as good as I was hoping, The Accountant is a fascinating and entertaining character study with some great acting and solid action. It definitely doesn't deserve the negative reviews it's been getting.

Visually, Doctor Strange is the best Marvel film to date with it's gorgeous and trippy special effects. In terms of storytelling, the film isn't great because of a lot of rushed moments. But overall, Doctor Strange is another enjoyable movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that is certainly worth watching.

There is nothing new about The Magnificent Seven, however, it knows exactly what it is and it has a lot of fun with itself. It's well acted, well written, and has some of the best action and sound design of the entire year.

Hell or High Water is one of those movies that gets better the more you think about it. The film has phenomenal performances, beautiful cinematography, a great soundtrack, and a fascinating story with some well realized characters that feel like real people. It's definitely one of the best films of the year.

Don't Breathe is not a horror masterpiece. Heck, it's not even that scary. However, this movie uses phenomenal direction, a solid cast, and great tension in a product that was an enjoyable watch overall.

Simply put, Kubo and the Two Strings is one of the best animated films I've ever seen in my life. The combination of gorgeous stopmotion animation, great characters, phenomenal voice acting, exciting action, and a beautiful and emotional story results in a movie that I absolutely adored from start to finish. This movie deserves all the money in the world for how excellent it is.

Suicide Squad is like a sloppy joe: it's pretty tasty and enjoyable to eat, but it's very messy. The performances of Will Smith and Margot Robbie were great, the soundtrack was great, and the final act was awesome, but the story was sloppy, the dialogue was uninteresting, and the characters were incredibly underdeveloped for the most part. I wanted to love it, but as it stands, it's just alright.

Is this movie the worst movie in the world? No. Not even close. However, the new Ghostbusters' weak script, poor pacing, and generally uninteresting characters cause the movie to suffer as a whole, resulting in a movie that was hard to sit through.

It took a while for the movie to draw me in, but when it did, Star Trek Beyond was a fun, visually appealing film with great characters and exciting action, resulting in an overall pretty enjoyable film.

It's not one of Spielberg's best, but The BFG is a charming and whimsical tale with great performances, gorgeous visuals, and likeable characters. It makes me sad that this is bombing at the box office.

Swiss Army Man is one of the weirdest movies I have ever seen in my life, yet it's so full of charm and adventure that I couldn't say no. The movie uses its bizarre premise to great lengths with beautiful cinematography, great performances, a crude yet clever script, and a great message of friendship, resulting in a movie that I wanted to see again as soon as it ended.

The original Independence Day was campy, but it was still a lot of fun. This sequel has none of the thrills, charm, charisma, or energy that the original has whatsoever. It was boring, poorly written, poorly acted, uninteresting, and just not fun to watch.

Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart have impeccable chemistry and there are some good laughs to be had. However, because of how dumb and nonsensical the plot is, the film isn't as funny or as smart as it thinks it is.

It doesn't reach the emotional heights that the original held, but Finding Dory is a very funny and very enjoyable film that proves that Pixar still has it.

This movie has a lot of really funny moments and some great songs. However, there are certainly some jokes, particularly in the third act, that didn't work. It's a solid story that feels irritating in some points and the documentary film style wasn't that consistent, but it was overall pretty enjoyable.

The pacing may be inconsistent and Apocalypse may not be as interesting as he could've been, but X-Men Apocalypse was still a fun, fascinating, and overall solid movie experience that doesn't deserve the hate it's getting.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is back with the best movie in the franchise yet, consisting of a surprisingly deep story with believable motives behind each decision the characters make. Plus, we have great action scenes, gorgeous special effects, amazing stunts, and an all around phenomenally fun watch. This is one of the greatest superhero films of all time.

Acting as one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen, The Jungle Book is also exciting, intense, emotional wonderfully acted, and an overall great watch. It's a Disney remake that's better than the original.

I wanted to love this movie, I really did, but I just can't. The story was incredibly choppy, the fight at the end was bloated, the pacing was very slow, and Jesse Eisenberg was horribly miscast. That being said, Ben Affleck is awesome, some of the story elements were fascinating, and the fight between Batman and Superman was exhilarating. I feel very conflicted about this movie and I want to love it more than I did, but as it stands, I just found this movie okay.

Although I didn't hate it as much as Insurgent, Allegiant is still a boring, sloppy film with an overly convoluted story and characters not worth caring about. I was never a fan of this franchise, and this film offers nothing to change my mind.

Although I'm not sure how I feel about its ending, 10 Cloverfield Lane, as a whole, is a phenomenal film. The performances are great (especially from John Goodman), the claustrophobic atmosphere is chilling, and the tension is handled very well. This is definitely a film not worth missing out on.

Zootopia is one of the biggest surpises of the year. What looked like a cute little animated flick turned out to be a lot deeper, a lot more mature, a lot more emotional, and a lot funnier than I ever thought. Combine that with beautiful animation, great characters, and phenomenal voice acting, and you have one of Disney's best movies in years.

What's your favorite mythology movie of all time? Now imagine that, but add an incoherent story and water it down with an orgy of over the top, unrealistic CGI. Now you have Gods of Egypt.

Deadpool is one of my favorite comic book movies of all time. Ryan Reynolds was born to play the Merc with the Mouth. Combine that with a great script, laugh out loud humor, and unapologetic brutality, this movie is an absolute blast to watch.

There is a lot to like here. The performances are great, the cinematography is gorgeous, the humor is well-timed, and the filming of these movies are phenomenal. However, the story is such a sloppy, inconsistent mess, that it's tough to wholeheartedly recommend this one.

It doesn't have the emotional impact the first two movies had and it treads very familiar ground, but Kung Fu Panda 3 is a lot of fun with beautiful animation, great characters, exciting action, and a lot of enjoyment overall.

It's pacing is uneven and it's editing is all over the place, but 13 Hours is a truly fascinating piece with great performances, solid action, and gives great insight into the real life event. This movie proves that Michael Bay can make a good movie when he tries.

The Revenant is an unflinching, brutal, hard to watch at times thriller with great performances, breathtaking cinematography, all with natural lighting, and an exhilarating story on revenge. It's a phenomenal movie that finally got Leo his Oscar. Took him long enough!

The Hateful Eight might be overlong and with an inconsistent tone, but it's characters and dialogue are so fascinating that I didn't care. Match that with beautiful cinematography and one of the best musical scores of 2015, and you have a recipe for success.

Though slow at timesSicario is a bleak, brutal, and fascinating thrill ride with phenomenal performances, beautiful cinematography, and a wonderful score.

This movie is so bad, even Adam Sandler is getting bored with this one. It's lazy, poorly written, and devoid of any entertainment whatsoever. It's like they weren't even trying.

With great characters, exciting action, and a familiar yet investing plot, Star Wars The Force Awakens not only proves that is was worth the hype but also that good Star Wars movies can still be made.

Creed is proof that a beloved franchise can re-surge and still be excellent today, with great acting, a phenomenal script, and some of the best film characters in the whole year. This is truly one of the best movies to come out in 2015.

Even though the pacing is very slow and it's unnecessary to split Mockingjay into two parts, Mockingjay Part 2 was still a solid conclusion to the beloved franchise with enough action and character development to keep me interested.

The Peanuts Movie is a funny, beautiful, charming, and an enjoyable watch that gives the classic cartoons justice. Schulz would be proud with what Blue Sky has conjured up.

This is the exact same movie as the first one, except with an even shoddier script, even more generic characters, and even lamer jokes. But hey, at least it's in Vegas!

This movie has some great music, but that's about it. Pan has some of the worst special effects of the year, along with a cliché plot, an inconsistent tone, and a poorly written script. It also manages to contain one of the most over-the-top annoying performances of the year from Garrett Hedlund, as well as the worst use of Smells Like Teen Spirit and Blitzkrieg Bop in any film ever. Yeah, this movie ****.

The Martian is one of the most fascinating and realistic science fiction films I've seen in a while, full of great performances, beautiful cinematography, and an absolutely gripping plot.

Despite some cool action pieces and solid performances all around, the second Maze Runner is a cliché, derivative, and predictable mess that only seems to get worse as it goes along. It's not horrible, but it's not great either.

With great performances, a fascinating premise, and a beautiful score, Black Mass proves to be an interesting biopic that's absolutely worth a watch, even if it is a little slow and lacks substance.

With a solid script, some genuinely funny and creepy moments, and great characters, The Visit proves that Shyamalan hasn't been completely lost in the sea of garbage that is his filmography.

With phenomenal performances, a chilling tone, and a thought provoking message, The Gift makes for a fascinating and thrilling film that is definitely a gift to watch.

Have you ever wanted to see a movie where every aspect of that said movie fails immensely? Well then, Fant4stic is for you! It's one of the worst movies I've seen in recent memory.

With clever writing, great characters and some of the best action scenes of the year, Mission Impossible Rogue Nation proves that the fifth entry in a movie franchise could not only be strong, but possibly the best in the entire series.

The impressive special effects and the videogame nostalgia can't save Pixels from being a boring, unfunny, predictable, plot hole filled mess from start to finish. And Kevin James is president? Seriously?

Even though this is the most predictable Marvel movie yet with an unimpressive villain, Ant Man still manages to be a hilarious, action packed superhero film with great performances and lots of fun to be had.

It's cheesy, predictable, incredibly cliché, and honestly pretty dumb, but San Andreas is a lot of fun to watch with solid performances, amazing visuals, and powerful sound design.

With mature themes, great characters, superb voice acting, a hilarious script with strong emotional punches, breathtaking animation, and an excellent score, Inside Out proves that Pixar has still got it with their best, and smartest, film in years.

It doesn't capture the magic of the original, but Jurassic World is a fun movie with some exciting action, beautiful cinematography, and an excellent score.

Spy was a very pleasant surprise. It was full of laugh out loud moments from beginning to end, a strong cast, and some surprisingly fun action scenes to boot. This is definitely a film worth watching.
