Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot7

I've got a bit of a bias writing this review because DBZ was a HUGE part of my life growing up. I've been waiting for a game like this for years and now we got it! All in all, if you are a DBZ fan (and I don't know why you would be playing this game if you aren't a DBZ fan) you are going to love it. ESPECIALLY if you download the Bruce Faulconer music mod which replaces the games original soundtrack with the classic funimation soundtrack. This being said, I had a few problems with it. My main problem is that the healing item system borderline breaks the game with how OP it is. You can literally bring any amout of healing items in to a fight that you can afford and getting money is not hard. Towards the end of the game, things start to balance out a little bit but at no point in time did I ever feel that there was any real challenge to any fight other than the challenge you want to make for yourself. This game really is only as hard as you want it to be. I know a lot of people decide to just not bring in items or limit the amount of items they use but I would have preferred a system where you would only bring in say 4 healing items per fight or if you use an item, there is a cooldown before you can use another one. Just that small tweak would have balanced things in game so much more and ultimately provided a much more enjoyable and exciting experience. Second issue is with the camera. If you and the person you are fighting are at different elevations, good luck trying to figure just what the hell is going on. Sometimes the camera gets stuck behind a tree or a rock, sometimes it detaches from you all together. Besides for those 2 issues, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this game to any DBZ fan.

The Sims 43

I have put this off long enough. I have tried to see the value in this game, tried to give the people that kept telling me "This game is SOO much better then Sims 3" a chance but the fact is this game is dookie. There ARE elements to the Sims 4 that are good such as the emotion system and updated graphics from the Sims 3. Sims seem more alive and I have to be honest I did legit enjoy my first few days with it. But after the magic wore off, I started to get bored... REAL bored. Everything feels like its made out of cardboard. Yeah, pretty to look at but no substance there. I'm not in a town, I'm in a house with a picture of a town in the background. Those arnt cars going by, that's not a train rolling down the tracks, its just window dressing. its all fake and it does NOTHING. I also have to admit that I kept hearing certain sim fans saying that its not fair to compare the sims 4 to any sims 3 expansion because its a base game. To that I say I DO in fact compare many aspects of the sims 4 to every part of the sims 3 because I PAID for all that **** I spend hundreds of dollars on all those expansions over the years starting with the Sims 1 and I would at least expects a FEW things from previous expansions to be in 4 like weather, or pets, or anything else that I already paid Maxis for 3 times already. This game isn't a step forward, its not even a step sideways, its a giant step back. I give the Sims 4 a few points for entertaining me with what it did right but in the end, Its not worth it. Go play the Sims 3.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition8
Nov 6, 2016
WARNING: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME ON PC! ONLY ACCEPT IT FOR FREE! That being said, if you did get it for free, this is such a non-issue for PC but I felt it was worth saying anyway. The main thing you need to know about SE on PC is that it runs on a 64 bit executable rather then a 32 which is what the original skyrim ran on. This means the architecture of the game is technically superior to the original. Thats it really... thats really the only thing its got going for it. PC mods took care of ALL of the visual improvements years ago and a huge down side to the SE is the mod community has to transfer EVERYTHING over. Which takes a lot of time and some stuff isnt going to make it over at all. You cant use base skyrim mods with SE so it all has to be redone. You know, as of right now I wouldn't even bother with the SE but in the future when all the mods are out, you may want to swap over. Everything I have just said however is conditional on if you have received the game for FREE. You get this game for free if you has Skyrim and all the DLC but if you are even missing ONE DLC, you have to pay full price for the SE.

Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 25
Oct 31, 2016
Xenoverse 2 like Xenoverse 1 was a game made for fans. Xenoverse 2 unfortunately makes no substantial improvements on the franchise. They dont seem to have learned from ANY of the problems from the first either. We are 5 days in and hackers are already starting to become a problem JUST like in XV1 and I have a feeling that nothing is going to be done about it. I really like the huge hub city but cant STAND the music which is something I have NEVER said about a game before. Never before has the music in an area actually upset me before as much as this game did. The fighting is tight just light XV1 but I do seem to find a few skills completely broken as well as some other skills completely op. All in all I have to say I was hoping for more. I was really hoping that this was going to be the end all, beat all DBZ game that would allow me to relive my childhood but in the end, it didnt live up to that. If you love DBZ, you should check this game out, if not, you probably are going to be disappointed.

South Park: The Stick of Truth10

First thing I'm going to say about this game is that if you don't like Southpark, you are probably not going to like this game. It's going to feel like a run of the mill RPG. If you do like Southpark then this game is a friggin GEM! I don't want to spoil a single thing so all I can say really is that this game IS Southpark.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain8

MGS The Phantom Pain is a work of art. Although lacking the story and hours of cut scenes that previous MGS games provided (I know a lot of people actually think that's a plus), It more then makes up for this with game play. The open world aspect to it is a welcome addition allowing you to choose your plan of attack and execute it the way you want to do **** I guess your wondering why I gave it an 8/10. Well the truth is I was going to give it a 9/10, maybe even a 10/10 but there's one thing I can't get over. The unwanted, unnessessary, and impossible to opt out of in game multiplayer. At a certain point you are FORCED to build this thing called an FOB (forward operating base). Once you build this FOB, people can start attacking you and stealing your stuff. At first I was like "sure fine whatever, its Clash of Clans" but the thing is you can NOT get away from it, EVER. People can take your stuff when you are off line. There is no way to say "I don't want an FOB, I just want to play MGS". If they wanted to put in game multiplayer I would have been fine with Peacewalker style co-op even though it made the game easy as hell but this is something no one wanted. If you can get past the **** multiplayer them this game is friggin amazing. Possibly the best MGS game I have ever played and I have played all of them.
