While wearing its inspirations on its sleeves, Ebb manages to distinguish itself enough to be a fantastic game and a breath of fresh air in the current landscape Fantastic writing and world-building are accompanied by beautiful landscapes and fitting music. Ebb is one of those games that you never forget about after you play, a truly fantastic adventure. There are a few gripes to be had, like a bad mini-map system or some esoteric (ha-ha) quests, but they pale in comparison to the experience this game presents. Also, actually managing to be funny at times is a huge plus I'm genuinely sad I finished this game, and I hope that there will be more games exploring this very interesting world

Pretty cool side adventure, even if it's not really a sequel and a rather short side adventure at that I'm kinda torn about a lot of things in the game, while the gameplay is a lot better, the view model kinda makes me nauseous at times The looping is cool,, but gameplay-wise, it's boring. The whole weapon unlock system is good because it rewards getting to know the world and plot, but gameplay-wise, it's annoying Still a fun game, even if it's short

This isn't an RPG, it's an action game claiming to be one. I was initially intrigued by the story but after the mystery wore off, I couldn't really contend with the bad combat, awful side quests and repetitive main quests Visually it does do some cool **** during missions but it's really not enough Couldn't finish it, got halfway through and had to do an awful stealth mission with an instant failure condition and it broke any desire I had to play more

While saying that it's a lot better than thefirst game isn't a big compliment, this is a genuinely good RPG Although having rather basic factions such as 'money good' 'science good' and 'dictatorship' the world aand story keeps you engaged well enough The gunplay is solid as well, so playing through the game is enjoyable. It seems to tick every box you'd expect from an Obsidian RPG, but, despite that, it still lacks its own identity somewhat, which just makes it good and not more

It's quite funny playing this game 20 years after its release, when I have 2000 hours or so logged on Garry's Mod, I know all the models, sounds, and textures, but I didn't know where they were from. I came in expecting it to be a good experience that had somewhat withered away by time, and boy, was I wrong This is still one of the best games ever made. Valve does so much in here with so little that it's just incredible.

The game in and of itself is enjoyable and worth the price of admission. It feels like the scope of the game ultimately harms it rather than being a benefit, as attempting to include so much in a single game results in some systems being flawed and unpolished. The story and world are really interesting, which makes exploring the world and engaging with the main mission a treat. However, the way the first two acts are structured, it doesn't feel like there's enough of the world itself - you'll mostly end up doing rather menial side quests (with some fantastic ones along the way). The buggy nature of the game makes it a 7/10 instead of an 8/10.

This review is only for the campaign portion of this game. While fun, the campaign serves as a long tutorial or introduction to the main part of the game, which is the multiplayer mode. Fun is all it is, as the story itself oscillates between boring and bad. Starting as the Empire is a cool idea, but since no Star Wars game can have nuance, you have them committing some **** type **** for no apparent reason so the protagonist can join the Republic... The DLC is a joke btw, just 3 missions which take an hour and a half total.

The writing here is still as good as in the first game (which means that it's great), but the magic of discovering an entire new universe is lost as you're already accustomed to everything, and Starward Vector does not do enough to push into new territories. The music is great and a huge highlight of the game. There isn't that much to talk about regarding gameplay; the contracts are a good shake-up, but the system still feels incredibly monotonous and dull I preferred the less linear approach the first game had over the one fit ending we get here, but it isn't that much of a downgrade.

This is a good 3rd person shooter, but honestly, it doesn't feel like Max Payne aside from the title and gameplay There are all the ingredients here for a Max Payne game, but it just feels like the wrong vibe Taking Max from the dark settings of the first two games to sunny Brazil was a bold director's choice, but it makes it so that it feels less like a Max Payne sequel. Wow, just wow. This is a perfect example that you can still make an incredible game even without' gameplay'. The writing is fantastic, from the story to the characters, from the worldbuilding to the quests. Couple that with a fantastic soundtrack and great art and you get a truly excellent game. Some of the scenes are so well written that I got sad while reading them. Never expected to end up as a gay robot dad. Incredible game, the only minus is that it can sometimes get monotonous when you're 'in-between' quests with the gameplay loop.

Lots of heart and soul do a lot to pull this game into an enjoyable experience. Cons include a wonky combat system, bad bosses, and some bad design choices overall However, the game tries to keep it fresh by introducing many changes and mechanics throughout the game (some are good, some are less), which makes the actual combat set pieces enjoyable as they are properly spread out. Acts 4-5 have cooler visuals than the other acts and it's a shame we only got to see that for a small part of the game.

I'll start this off by saying that I'm probably the wrong audience for this game as I don't really enjoy the GTA games either. Honestly, I find the Rockstar formula bland unless the story is excellent- which wasn't the case in this one. The story missions and characters are absurd, I get that Rockstar have a thing for satirizing and ridiculing the extreme of American society but I don't understand what was the point of it in this game. The ending did get me teary-eyed a bit but it does feel cheap and made to be a tear-jerker. Other than that the shooting itself is good alongside the general gameplay loop. However, while playing in hardcore it's extremely frustrating to sometimes be one shot and sometimes be able to take a couple of bullets form the same enemy which was really annoying.

This review will only be for the story mode since I couldn't even finish that one to unlock the challenges. The art style is nice and the gameplay is fun but playing for 8 hours doing the same thing over and over and over again to get 5 lines of dialogue every hour is tedious at the very least and incredibly frustrating. I get that it's a rogue-lite but if you want to have a 'story' mode (without any actual real story) that's this long you should give an option to save at points, getting bad RNG with minion spawns in the final planet in a system making you lose an hour of progress and re-do the whole system destroys the entire enjoyment of the game. So great gameplay and design but it is so damn tedious and repetitive just sinks it. They did try to add variety by adding a new outlaw and enemies every hour or so but it really isn't enough.

This game is something special. The developers tried to pack a huge number of different mechanics and genres into Midnight Suns, and they mostly succeeded, making it a unique and enjoyable experience. While most of the things crammed into the game work fine, having so many mechanics hinders the game due to QoL issues and a lack of depth in certain elements. It doesn't negate that much from the experience, but with how good this game is, I'm positive that a sequel can be one of the best video games of all time. Honestly no other real gripes beyond the length (50 hours for a playthrough is a bit much), the combat, story, characters, music, general vibe, art direction and pretty much everything in the game is well made. HIGHLY recommend this game, I really hope we get to see a sequel one day

I'll preface this review and say that I am aware that this is a way better game than my review implies, it's just that it didn't click for me fully. Great design, great characters, great combat, and well pretty much everything that is to be expected at this point from Supergiant. My issue was that I don't like beating a roguelike 200 times and the story relies on you beating the game over and over and over again. I just felt like after a few wins I didn't have that much of an incentive to truly experiment with builds or weapons

Honestly feels like a downgrade to the original game despite some huge advancements like graphics and what not. The combat system feels like a gimmick that loses its charm as enemies get tougher and more and more of a bullet sponge rather than a real obstacle. An absolute shame that the narrator isn't there like the first game and they changed the story around from isolated cases to a grand adventure-style one. Sometimes everything just clicks and you feel like you're playing the original and remember why you liked it so much but most of the time you're just absolutely baffled at every single decision the developers made while making this sequel. I don't understand why they mixed up the formula of the first one which was an absolute masterpiece just to dumb it down, honestly feels like every change they made is a huge downgrade to the original game. Relationships feel forced and unnecessary, no real in-game progression between runs is extremely frustrating and the runs themselves are way too long- just an absolute bummer of a sequel.

An absolute masterclass of a combat system spearheads this game to glory. Just by playing the first couple of hours, you can instantly recognize it's a FromSoft game but they changed and added so many features from the Souls series that it genuinely feels like something new. The best example is how the combat system differs from the Souls games, being more about countering your enemy repeatedly than cheesing it. It might be a bit rough during the beginning before the combat clicks for you but when that combat clicks it truly becomes a unique experience. Great music, great enemy design (even if it feels like the roster is a bit limited), great environments, and overall just a great game.

This game does pretty much everything right but it's just that the gameplay loop itself gets so repetitive. The music is incredible, and the atmosphere and world-building are both insanely good as is the dialogue. Still, it's bogged down by doing the same thing repeatedly for the entire game without any real significant changes. I played on normal which is 'the intended mechanicus experience' but I found myself having zero issues with any of the missions after getting to know the game for a bit. The gameplay itself is fun and even fun, it's just that it expects you to do the same missions for over 10 hours. I didn't finish it because of this but I would still recommend the game because it does a lot right.

As a game itself, this really captures the essence of Spiderman as a character, although the ending sequences seem like an excuse to make Peter suffer as much as possible I didn't really like that they crammed bad stealth sections in this game with MJ/Miles and also the introduction of Miles as a character should've been done in the second game IMO.
