Mewgenics
Mewgenics’ unexpected depth as a roguelike and management sim will keep players entertained and strategizing for hours. Alongside its randomized runs, this means that you’ll still find something to be surprised or astounded by even after devoting hours into it. It’s the game that keeps on giving—fun, poop, farts and all.
Mewgenics is a game with character that could share its content with many other games and still have plenty left over. If you give it a chance, it will keep you entertained for hours. I recommend it not only to cat lovers.
With its charming, cartoonish style, Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel's title offers us one of the most profound, complex, and ambitious RPG/Roguelike games of this year that has just begun.

Visually and musically, it nails the vibe perfectly. The art style is distinct and expressive, and the soundtrack ties everything together with a tone that swings between playful and unsettling without missing a **** what really sets Mewgenics apart is how alive it feels. Your decisions matter, your creatures evolve in wild ways, and no two playthroughs are ever the same

The core gameplay loop is insanely addictive. Breeding, strategizing, managing chaos—it all comes together in a way that feels both unpredictable and incredibly rewarding

Mewgenics deserves all its praise and more, delivering a solid monster-rancher premise with strong roguelike gameplay and packaging it all with incredible humor that only the creative minds behind Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac could pull off. You couldn’t swing a cat around in this game without smashing it into something awesome.

What more can I say? These one hundred and fifty hours have given us a memorable adventure, a journey capable of making us laugh, swear, and cheer like in a Champions League final, all while relying almost exclusively on raw mechanics and pure, simple interactions. Mewgenics is a game created by avid gamers for avid gamers, a roguelike that knows how to challenge them, how to reward them, how to speak their language, but above all, how to surprise them, inviting them to dig and dig until they reach the lowest point of a very deep iceberg. An iceberg that, as the developers have already confirmed, will continue to expand in the future.

INVEN
A standout title that successfully balances both roguelike elements and SRPG depth. Its rough-edged visuals, offbeat black humor, and somewhat predictable early turn-based exchanges may pose an initial hurdle. Push past that, however, and you’ll find a rich playground of builds and combinations, where genetics, roguelike progression, and class systems intertwine to offer remarkable variety and replay value.

In truth, I wasn’t all that sure Mewgenics could win my heart the way its predecessor, The Binding of Isaac, did, but I’m glad to have been proved sorely wrong by this inventive and complex turn-based roguelike. Beneath the veil of crassness and feline fornication lives a well-paced and content-packed adventure that demands strategic thinking. Yes, its humor feels dated in places, but it stands as a testament to the enduring charm of whimsical, tongue-in-cheek indie games.

Mewgenics is a surprisingly deep and unforgiving game with a strong tactical combat system, a massive amount of content, and a highly addictive gameplay loop. Its heavy reliance on RNG and repetition can be frustrating at times, but it rarely lets go of you. For players who enjoy complex systems, tough decisions, and pitch-black humor, this one is absolutely worth diving into.

Mewgenics is a truly enormous game jam-packed with secrets and synergies, surprising and rewarding even when its pacing frustrates.

It’s fine but the runs take too long and the upgrade system is not really fun or rewarding. I’ll come back after patches maybe.

It doesn't show anything new for the genre itself, it was fun for a few hours but after seeing that most of my runs were basically the same ı quicly got bored out of it, as ı am not really a fun of roguelike games **** cat breeding part was nothing like ı expected, it stays too shallow and random, it wasn't something ı was excited to do let's say. It also has the worst part of any roguelike game ı play, ''RNG'' for no goddamn reason, just to make the game longer.I want my skills and strategy to be put on a test not my luck.I don't want to wait for the right cat and items, or having to work for that to happen, because it is simply not fun. I am not here to gamble, this is a turn-based **** is cute though.

game is to hard and unforgiving for how goofy it is. it feels like there no point risking your cats on hour long runs for nothing there's nothing in place to help out on runs that turn bad as you might as well just kill your self then waste a hour slogging through a unfun run just to die at a dumb ass boss fight that can get 50 moves over and over. its just not worth the time or effort

The fact that many cr1tics rated the game 100/100 or very close to it should make you think. The game is undone. No balance to find, waay too much randomness for a supposed strategy game. Regarding McMillen, this game is truly heartbreaking. After Legend of Bumbo flopped, then was never fixed, this is the second fail. It is a fail. But critics vote it 100/100 .... I think this quote says it best: "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
