Yooka Replaylee is the best example how you fix your own game perfectly. All the issues I have with the original Yooka Laylee are solved. Technically the game now runs at 60fps even on Switch 2. The controls and camera has been heavily improved as so as the Kartos and Rextro sections, which are now a fun and welcome addition to the main game. Both sections are now challenging, but not in an unfair or frustrating way like in the original. Actually the Rextro minigames are now kind of relaxing while the Kartos sections been balanced perfectly. All these improvements are leading to a way better, more enjoyable experience which will keep you motivated to collect all the worlds has to offer. The only minor issue might be, that because of all these major improvements, the game is now relatively easy. However for me it is the best plattformer released in 2025 and beat Donkey Kong Bananza in this category.

Simply a fun game from start to finish. The battle system offers a unique mechanic, with it's ability system. Each of your characters is able to use seven abilities per battle. The clue is, you can only choose four of them, the other three are random during each battle or each recharge in battle. So you have to learn to use each of your characters correctly and you need to prioritze the different abilities depending on the role your character should fill in the party or in the next fight. Furthermore I like how this game handles their random encouters. In each new area, you will see a number on the bottom of your screen which tells you the number of random encounters you will face in this area, ten for example. After beaten these ten encounters you will face no more encounters, but you have the option in the menu to face more encounters if you want or need. And at last, the humor of course. Very meta and in some cases surprisingly dark. I love it. Definitely a great little game with it's 8 to 12 hours, to pick up.

A nice and cute wholesome game to relax and enjoy. Sure all gameplay mechanics the game offers you are basic and nothing is really complex. You collect resources to complete requests, or to max out your weapons, inventory and healing jars. A stamina bar prevents the fights to simple button mashing through it. The biggest strength are the charming characters and the cute and colourful graphics which transport a positive vibe to you. The story and dialogues are well written and you get a constant feeling of progression. A nice wholesome game for cold evenings or after hard workdays.

This game could be so great, however even the patched version has to many flaws in total. First the exploration feels very basic compared to other metroidvanias like The Last Faith or Blasphemous 2. The fun of exploring the different areas gets lost, because of the decision to mark the point of the map, where you have to make use of your new gained ability. The combat is the core of Moonscars and most of the time it feels very satisfying beating the monsters with a well timed parry. However and this is a major issue, parrying in Moonscars is a bit rough. Some enemies are easy to parry but other ones have a very quick movement so that you never get the feeling for it. So it is like the melee counter in Metroid Dread only in worse. Which is sad, because when you are parrying successful it feels so great and satisfying. The bosses are another issue. There are only six boss fights in the entire game and one of them is reused. So in total you have five different bosses and only the last two are comparable to titles like The Last Faith or the both Blasphemous games. The rouge like mechanic is a very interesting addition to the metroidvania formular. Visually I like this game a lot and the melancholic audio in the background fits and sets the tone perfectly. To sum it up, Moonscars is a game with great visuals and sounddesign but on the gameplay site, it does not use its full potential.

I played The Last Faith on my Switch 2 and it runs smoothly without any framedrops and the loading times were always roundabout 2 seconds between the screens. On the technical perspective, playing on Switch 2 solved all the problems the game has on the original Nintendo Switch. So with that out of the way, The Last Faith is a great game in every aspect. Combat is fun and offers a lot of variety thanks to the different weapons and spells you can find and the four different playstyles you can choose from. I personally played through the game twice. One time with the Assassin and the other time with the Brawler. One style focusses on dextery and the other one focusses on strenth and although these are both close combat playstyles you feel the difference. Same goes for the different weapons you will find. Every weapons feels different and has it's own properties which you need to consider. The visuals are stunning and consistent, the different locations offers a lot of variety and the bosses are for the most part fair and challenging. Beating the bosses feels always satisfying. However you can argue, that it is a bit too much Dark Souls in it. You wake up and start in a prison, like in Dark Souls, you fight against weak undeath zombies, like in Dark Souls and to escape from the prison you have to beat the boss, like in Dark souls. All dialogues, descriptions and messages are cryptic and more puzzle you need to put the pieces together to get the full picture of the story, like in Dark Souls. However for me it isn't a let down, because of the great gameplay, atmosphere and exploration this game offers me.

A very dull and repetitive game. Although it can be finished in eight hours by focusing on the main story, it still feels to long. The first area, the forest, looks so ugly, that I was close to quit playing it. However thankfully the graphic and areas are getting way better. Unfortunately the main Antagonist itself is very repetitive on a gameply perspective. He is the only boss in the entire game and you have to fight him in total five times and the fights are very similar to each other, so there is no variety in there. The game is a simple combination of plattforming and arena battles. Then there are optional challenges, where you are able to gain new costumes, or getting crystals to develope the fire rate, damage etc. The challenges are only simply more arena battles with a time limit. So I personally don't recommend completing them. Here is the thing why. On the normal difficulty the amount of creatures you have to fight is too big and on top of that, some of the enemies are annoying bullet sponges. It feels like the classic bad license adaptions, where the developers had no idea how to create a creative experience.

A game where you can spent 100 hours into it, without fully discoverd all which it has to offer. The developing and building of the, in total, four different villages and the bonding with the characters and the completion of their bondquest and the potential 14 (16 with DLC) romances are easily the biggest strengths of this game an the main focus. The RPG elements are all basic and functional. Crafting, combat and the developement of the characters is mediocre, so grinding and farming all of the materials you need to become repetitive very quickly. The main story is a bit too stretchy in the middle, which slows down the pacing and progress, so I recommend new players to complete it as fast as possible. The post game after the main storyline feels rushed and isn't fleshed out. On the technical site it is a bit rough in movement and during cutscences. All in all a great game with a lot of potential, which does not manage to make use the full of it.

The definition of a 7/10. A lot new ideas and on a technical side a polished game without a doubt. However none of the new ideas is really fleshed out. The open world suffers the most from Nintendos surprisingly uncreative way do add content into the world. All challenges and collectables become worthless very quick, because your only reward for completing or collecting them are stickers. So you can collect over 300 stickers and are able to only use one! The new Grand Prix mode gets boring to quickly. The only new interesting mode is the knockout mode. The game is good, in some aspects even very good. However, it is not as revolutionary and groundbreaking as a lot of reviews say. In fact, it is far away from being a 10/10 game. 40 plus hours the game is simply smashing things and collecting bananas. The Bananza Transformations add at least, some variety and prevent this game from being to repetitive. Unfortunately, the developers don't use the full potential of the transformations. Especially the boss fights are way to simple, even the last boss is not make enough use of all the bananza transformations. One last thing is the story itself, this could be interesting but Nintendo does what they always do. Waste potential and play the nostalgic card. The last section including the last boss is a pure nostalgic trip for fans of the old games and although I like the return of the old enemy, I can not ignore how cheap they implement his appearance in the story. The game is polished and fun don't get me wrong. I enjoyed my time collecting bananas and try the different costumes. Smashing my way through the different areas kept me longer entertained than I was thinking. Visually the different biomes offers a lot of variety and some of them, like the disco level make use of their theme in a very charming and refreshing way. It is simply not enough as a whole to deserve a rating this high.

First, the game is great and has all what it needs to be an outstanding RPG. After a pretty standard beginning, in act 2 this game becomes better and better. The characters are all well written as the mainstory itself. The gameplay mechanics are fleshed out and the variety of possibilities you have to build your character is outstanding and a really good motivation for multiple playthroughs to experiment with the different gameplay styles in combat the game offers you. All in all a 10/10 RPG. However this port did not run as well as the majority say. I played the game in quality mode, because I have no TV that is able to run 120hz, so I have to use the quality mode. In this mode the framerate is stable most of the time, in Dogtown framedrops are more often than in the main game. My problem is, that this game crashed four times during my 65 hours playthrough. Interestingly the crashes came after I start playing the Phantom Liberty DLC. If the Switch 2 version is your only option, you should definetly buy it. Highly recommended from my site despite the technical issues I experience. It is an absolute masterpiece of an RPG. However if you have a high end PC or a PS5. You better choose this versions.

The definitve version to play Dragon Quest III. The HD-2D graphic is beautiful and with the bright and shiny colours of Dragon Quest, it looks even more impressive. So on the visual site, the game is simply a 10/10 without a doubt. However, this is still a game which originally made in the late 80's and besides some quality of life additions and the implementation of two new classes. It is an oldschool experience with modern graphics. Which means none of your three companions have a backstory or his own story arc. The new characters are simply a gameplay tool, whith the intention to offer the player a variety of options to play through the game by experimenting with the classes and the job system to find your own playstyle, which suits you the **** top, you have to grind multiple times in the game to go further, so you will spend some time during your playthrough with simply fighting enemies to gain experience to level up a bit, so that you are able to progress furhter. If you like these classic experience, than this is the perfect opportunity. However you also realize how far RPG's have evoleved since then.

Good little Metroidvania with a maximum of six hours playtime, if you want to complete it 100%. Simple structure, with in total five locations to explore. Movement is smooth and fluid. Kiki can leave the suit every time and there are some sections where you control a submarine and the game plays like a shoot e'm up for a little time. The bosses are challenging and the final boss make you feel fighting Dr. Willy in Megaman. It is all in all a nice little Metroidvania without major weaknesses. Haiku the Robot is a perfect designed, enjoyable Metroidvania experience. I just finished it and i have no negative points, to bring up. The graphics are beautiful, with an high attention to detail, which give every location in the game his own unique look and identity. Furthermore, every location have his own variety of enemies, which fits the immersion of being in an organic world now dominated by machines. Every boss in the game is well made and beating them by learning their patterns is satifisying. However they are, compared to Hollow Knight relatively easy. You only will die three or four times, maybe five and then beat them. So the diffculty is on a decent level. Not too hard, but also not to easy, so you still keep motivated to try them again. The same goes for the plattforming sections. They are challengening and some reaches the level of some of Hollow Knights plattforming sections. However the difference in Haikus favour is, that there is no section which is based on stupid try and error like the path of pain in Hollow Knight. Every ability you gain in the game is polished and the movement is very smooth. All abilities are fun to use and are well combined in the plattforming sections. The only thing I would criticize is, that Haiku doesn't add something new to the established Metroidvania formula. All abilities and power ups you gain are well established before. This game will not give you a new or different experience compared to all the other Metroidvanias out there. However, and this is the reason why I give it a 10/10. The game was completely developed by one single person and he managed to create a complex, interesting world which is fun to explore, smooth and fluid movement with polished and well implemented abilities, which you need to use in combination at some points and most importantly for me. The playtime is, with 11 to 12 hours when you want to 100% it, simply perfect.

Simply a great game from beginning to end. It is on the same level as Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door in my opinion. The cast of characters, Vi, Kabbu and Leif is so entertaining and you quickly sympathise with all three of them. The dialouges are more dynamic, simply because there use background comments from other characters between a main dialouge. Every NPC you interact with gives you the feeling of being part in an lively world with an own unique society which really helps to connect with the world and the characters in there. Especially the Sidequest are a big step forward compared to Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door. They are more fun, more creative, you be rewarded better for fullfilling them and some of the Sidequests expand the lore for this world. So you are not only getting some useful upgrades, you also get more story information about this world and the insects and their society which gives you a better understanding. The battles are as great as they are in Paper Mario, with the difference that your three characters, Vi, Kabbu and Leif are better balanced and have their own useage in fighting the different types of enemies. Vi can attack flying enemies and put them to the ground, so the others can attack them too. Kabbu is the tank who can harm armored enemies and turn them on the back, so that their defense gets lost. Leif is able to attack enemies in the ground. Thanks to this dynamic in the battles, they never gets bored. The only issue this game has is, that the puzzle solving in the overworld is clunky sometime, especially Vis "Beemerang" is really inaccurate to use, when you need it to activate switches. Luckily there is never a scenario where you have to use the overworld abilities under pressure so it is not a big deal. One last positive thing is the content this game offers, I didn't complete the game 100% but still put 40 hours into it and there are no time strechting gameplay elements like fetch quests or something else. Every hour I spent into it was fun, enjoyable and makes me smile.

Such a great Metroidvania in it's own way. Sure compared to the first Axiom Verge, which I also enjoy, it is less challenging and the artstyle is not as unique as in the first entry. However the main focus of this game is clearly the exploration. Except the final boss, every boss in the game is optional, but it is still rewarding to defeat them, because you can gain apocalypse flasks, which you need to upgrade your abilities. The leveldesign offers visual variety and a lot of possibilities to navigate through the world map. So exploring the world and searching for new upgrades and text log, where the lore of these world is written, never gets bored or tedious. It was a fun and enjoyable experience from beginning to end. The creator accomplishes, that feeling, that this world as a lot of secrets to offer, especially storywise, if you only dig deep enough. Some flaws however, are lowering the experince a bit. The grappling hook is very clunky to use and it feels worse than in the first Axiom Verge and even there it was immature. The bossfights are easy and getting repetitive very quickly. This is'nt that bad, because they are optional, but it would fit the experience of exploring better, if the bosses itself where more unique. All in all it was a very fun experience and I will definetly replay the game someday. The main reason is, that it has so much to offer on storyside and the gameplay loop by exploring the world is very fun.

I had rated the original game 10/10 and I do the same for the remake.Sure it has some flaws like the backtracking which is reduced, however it still exists and the new implemented shortcuts only changes the segments where you have to backtrack from being annoying to being boring. The sidequest you can do are unfortunately also boring and only a few are worth doing them. However this remake improves so strong on the visuals, character animations and by adding new highly improved cutscenes, that these charming game gets even more charming. Then there are two new optional bosses, which are a fun and challenging experience to fight, which I personally really enjoy. The biggest reason, why I still rate this game 10/10 is the most simple. I rate it this high, because the original game from 2004 was and is still a masterpiece. The amount of creative, challenging and unique boss battles, the individual chapters and most importantly the amount of creative, interesting and sometimes surprisingly deep characters from your own companions to the NPC's is phenomenal. Furthermore, there is the creative and varied gameplay with a deep and accessible battle system a lot of possibilities to create your own playstyle thanks to the badges. Even the abilities you get over the adventure are implemented well and fun to use. Sure plattforming feels not good in this game, but this is a minor issue and clearly overshadowed by all the great positive aspects. So it is still a well deserved 10/10 in my opinion although it has definetly some flaws which keeps it up from being perfect.

For me the second best of the Donkey Kong Country games after the original, the Retro Studios games included. From the original Trilogy it offers the best visuals and the most variety. Sure some will say this game is too gimmicky, however I personally think, that this is the biggest strength of Donkey Kong Country 3. Another big strenght is, the level design. This game has no cryptic hidden bonus barrels or DK-Coins. It feels more clear in his level structure. This makes it a more enjoyable experience to 100% complete the game than all the other entries. Furthermore, the GBA Version gets the most additions compared to the original. A complete new world, a new boss and the best minigames in total. However, the new added boss is easy the weakest, because of how random he is. Especially in the last stage of the fight. The only downgrade of a fun and enjoyable experience.

Sonic Generations is a bit overrated and has a better reputation than it should be. It offers you a cool combination of stages from every former Sonic game at the time and I fully appreciate this. Crisis City, Speed Highway and Planet Wisp are visually my favourites. The interactions between the modern and classic versions of the characters is entertaining to watch. The gameplay works well and it is the best game to get into the Sonic franchise. However, this game has more issues than you will think when you read reviews from Sonic fans. The first and obvious one is, that this game is really short, when you only focus on the main objective. This will be for sure a negative point for many players, but actually it was not for me. Would this game be longer I wouldn't finished it a second time. The optionial challenges aren't fun to play and you have to beat one for every stage to move forward. Sadly, as creative as they are, I don't like any of them, which means that the optional half of the game is skipable for me. Than there is the feature of the game itself, you play every Stage as modern and as classic Sonic and you have to finish both to complete it and move forward. As much as I like the design of classic Sonic, I clearly prefer the modern Sonic gameplay, because of the 3D-Boost mechanic. Unfortunately this is where my other issue with this game lies. In the 3D-Sonic stages are 2D-sections as well and they are not short. In fact they become more and more extensive in the later stages of the game So you don't have a game, which is half 2D and the other half 3D, it is more two third of the game are 2D. The problem is the 2D-Sections in the 3D-Stages brakes the boost gameplay completely. Finally the bosses are mixed in quality. Perfect Chaos and Egg Dragoon are easy the best bosses in the game and exciting to beat. All the others are too easy or their mechanic does not work perfectly. The final boss is the worst of the bunch. You will not get an idea what you have to do at first and when you get it, it is so boring to play.

Overrated piece of ****, that's what this game is. I only rate it 5/10 because it is better than the first Dark Souls I tried out before. From Software and their Soulslikes are the most overrated garbage the Videogame Industry has produced. The world design is at the beginning confusing and not as good as fanboys say. You can easily miss a bonfire, where you can save your progress if you don't use a guide or watch a walkthrough. On top, the game doesn't tell you anything. only the basic controls. Where is the next bonfire? Find it out by yourself. Which weakness have the enemy or boss you face? Find it out by yourself. This game is only popular because of the internet and not because it is actually good. The game design is horrible, it is okay that you lose all your souls, when you are dying, because without this mechanic you could easy grind your way through. However losing your used resources like items to add elemental damage to your weapon is really bad, because not all missed tries are your fault. The game has bugs and glitches that are making the fights even more difficult. The enemies can hit you through walls and they are able to harm you through the fog you step through to challenge the boss. This is ridiculous. That there are no bonfires right in front of the bossroom, so that you can straight go into the fight again is a **** joke. You have to fight on your way the same **** enemies again and when you try to avoid them and run away, they can still hurt you even if you do manage to reach the boss as I mentioned before. This game hasn't deserved any of the criticial acclaim it gets. People who are calling this game a masterpiece and criticizing other games because they are buggy are a joke either.

This game is as a remake a very good experience, because it is so close to the original game. The graphic is beautiful despite little framedrops. The characters are charming and you get the idea, why this game get this high reputation. This game is the origin off the later acclaimed Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door and Mario & Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story. However the disatvantage being so close to the original is, that there are no improvements or modern elements, which means it has the same issues like the original game from 1996. The isometric perspektive make this game look cute and charming, but on the other side makes jumping in this game terrible. You will miss a lot of jumps by simply missjudging the gap between two plattforms. Which can be in the end a bit frustrating because there where the most plattforming parts. Another thing is, that Super Mario RPG is really simple in it's structure. You will only need less than 20 hours to play through the main story. There is no deep story, no deep character developement. It is just find the seven stars and then you finished it. The way it builds up follows a established formular. You get the information where the next star is, follow the route, come to a town or a village where something strange is going on, go in the dungeon or wood nearby and beat the boss. This is not really a bad thing, because this is the structure most RPG's in the 90's used and it still works and is an enjoyable and relaxing experience. However I wished these bunch of sympathic characters, the gameplay and the writing, where a bit more fleshed out. so clearly a missed opportunity All in all a great remake, which is maybe a bit too close to the original for it's own good.

A very frustrating, unrewarding and overall exhausting experience. Visually this game offers the best graphic on the Nintendo 64 and it look pretty even today, so on that side it belongs to the few N64-Games that still look beautiful. The humor Rare was famous for in the 90's is also there. However on this game, they gone to far with their use of collectible stuff. Golden bananas, bananas with different colours for each character, banana fairys, special coins and more are simply to many things. This combined with repetitive minigames you have to play to get the golden bananas and where some of them are really annoying and an overall bad leveldesign, results in a frustrating and exhausting experience. On top of that, Rare force you to play old arcade classics to reach the final boss. You have to play through the classic Donkey Kong Arcade game twice to get one of the two coins you need to reach the final boss. This is ridiculous. Although all of the five Kong Characters are fun to play with, they are the main reason for really tedious backtracking, because the bad leveldesign force you to switch between three Kongs to reach one of the 25 golden bananas per level. I played through it with my sister and her boyfriend, but I will never play this game again.

The third generation of Pokemon is the best generation, it has the best region with unique setpieces, towns and a high variety of locations. Furthermore it offers you the best and most challenging post game content after beating the Elite Four. The battle frontier was the best gamefreak ever implented and it's such a shame that after generation four, where these version of the battle frontier was a bit weaker, these concept never comes back.

The best and only real time strategy game for me. After playing this masterpiece I wasn't able to enjoy other strategy or economy games like Age of Empires, the Anno series or **** reason is simple. The balance between economy and the military part is perfect for me. All goes hand to hand. The developers managed it to create a game with a great accessability for new players, but it is also complex enough for veterans of the genre. The build mode, where you can create your own big castle is fantastic and a relaxing game experience which works perfectly for me to relax after a hard workday. The games everthing you want from conquering and defending historic castles, a great military campaign with four unique antagonists in their own way to a relaxing building mode. I played it in my youth and I am looking forward to play the definitive edition again. Simply a masterpiece and all time great for me, which keeps up with my other all time game Metroid Prime.

It could be a perfect 2D-Metroid, with a great accessability to beginners who wants to get into the Metroid Series. Everything we like in a 2D-Metroid is here. A cool and interesting leveldesign, which keeps you motivated to explore, the possibility to experiment with sequence breaks. A nice and challenging bossfight against Kraid. Everything is fine and fits together perfectly, the only nitpicky critique I would have, is that the fight against Ridley is surprisingly easy. However there are two fatal issues this game has which prevents it, from being a masterpiece. First the bossfight against Motherbrain is really bad and frustrating. You only have two little plattforms where you can stand over the lava and there are projectiles everywhere. You will fall of into the lava and get a heavy amount of damage. Motherbrain itsself fires a beam at you to and when she charges her beam she is invulnerable at this time, so you can't damage her. If you finally did it, the classic escape sequence follows and then the by far worst part of the game begins. The Zero Suit Stealth mission at the end is terrible and the definition of unnecessary. It feels like, the developers had added a part of a completly different game. It doesn't fits into this game and in consequence is, that your experience with this game ends on a bitter note.

This game had the potential to be equal to Metroid Prime, which is one of the greatest games ever created, by being a perfect counterpart. Its strengths are the higher difficulty, more focus on combat and the better use of the morph ball ability by combining spider and boost ball. However fans mention the reduced backtracking first, as strong point, when they argue, why Metroid Prime 2 is better than it's predecessor. This is true, yes, unfortunately it is one of the reasons why Metroid Prime is the better game, because Metroid Prime was built with the backtracking in mind, which leads to more options to play through the game, the more powerups and abilities you gain. This is not the case here, so the replay value suffers of the more linear design to reduce backtracking. Furthermore the game is more action paced, with way more bosses to fight. The problem here is, that the higher amount of bosses in total doesn't add the quality value as it should to compensate the los of atmosphere compared to the first Metroid Prime. But the worst thing is the endgame. After beating Quadraxis this game reaches it's low point. The backtracking comes back with the sky temple keys, which are the equivalent to the chozo artifacts, only worse, because it is always the same scheme and you are not able to collect them sooner in the game unlike the chozo artifacts. The other reason the endgame is so bad are the two remaining bosses. The Empereror Ing is horrible, at the first phase of the fight targeting his tentacles to open the core is simply frustrating due to the fact that you are not able to look and shoot up that high. Because of these control limitation, the light beam is the only option that works and even that not in a reliable way. The second phase is completely unnessecary. The last phase is a confusing mess, where the hitboxes are strange and the Empereror Ing only acts like a bigger version of the Warrior Ings. After you defeat this frustrating and disappointing boss you face the other one with a time limit. The last Dark Samus fight is easily the worst of the three in the game and suffers from the same control limitation. You can only look and shoot up to certain height before the control becomes inaccurate. Empereror Ing and the last Dark Samus fight are exceeding these limit which results in frustrating fights that are not fun. This game make some good choices and offers a complete new experience instead of being a simple clone of it's predecessor. Unfortunately there are more bigger problems than solved one's in total.

The first Baten Kaitos is a 10/10 game for me. Baten Kaitos Origins is because of the changes in the battle system the weaker game, which I still haven't replayed in the remasterd version for the review. So all what I'am writting here is based of the first Baten Kaitos. To make it quick, the remaster is not as good as I hoped it would be. The quality of life features they have added are welcome and useful to make tough game parts, like wandering through a swamp or blizzard clearly easier. Furthermore the game looks beautiful and full of life. The only problem is, that this remaster suffering from performance issues even still after an update, there are some slow downs. Which prevents it from being the definitive version of these two games. If you are lucky and are in possession of both original versions, I would not recommend this hd-remaster to you.

I had high hopes in this game. I really wish that it would be the best pikmin game with a 9/10 or 10/10 for me. However Nintendo implemented a bit too much new gameplay mechanics and unfortunately the Implemantion doesn't work well. The new night expiditions are a great addition, the rescue pup Otschin also. The Dandori fights on the other hand fells more like ther were added later in the developement cycle. Which as a result does not feel well implemented in the main game. It's the overall structure and the feeling that all the new additions in total doesn't really fit in together perfectly, who prevents me from fully enjoing the game as a whole. One example sums up my issue perfectly. In the last area of the main game there is one treasure which you can not collect, because you need one hundred purple Pikmin for it. To get these amount of Pikmin you have to collect the purple onion to generate new seeds. The thing is, to get the onion you have to complete two optional challenges, which are not needed to finish the main game. It is only necessary for one final treasure in the main game.

This game is okay, not bad but also not good. Sure the graphic and the visual artstyle is great even today. Daxter is a cool, crazy character and carries the humor alone in the game, which works well. The abilities are typical for a plattformer. Nothing new or special, just good working standard moves you know from other 3D-Plattformers. It could be a solid 8/10, if there weren't some heavier issues. First, the control is not 100% accurate and feels a bit clunky, which you will recognize painfully later in the game and in the final boss fight. The camera angle is sometimes focusing in the wrong direction and is not easy to handle with the shoulder buttons. Than there are some framedrops, especially when there are multiple projectiles, which again you will painfully recognize during the final boss fight. At least there are the vehicles and some quick-time minigames to mix a bit of variety to the good 3D-plattforming standard. The little missions with the vehicles are fun, the quick-time minigames unfortunately not. They feel annoying and their only purpose is to stretch the playtime a little bit. In total it is simply an average 3D-Plattformer with high-quality visuals at the time, an artstyle that even looks good today and a cool, refreshing character. However technical issues like poor camera control, annoying frame drops and a not 100 percent accurate movement holds this game back.

Overrated garbage, that's what this game is, this game was chosen to be the best game of all time, seriously! Every Youtuber I am watching praise this game, so I finally tried it out, believing that I, who loves Metroid Prime, should also love Dark Souls, because the two games have similar strengthen. The truth is however, Dark Souls is nowhere near Metroid Prime. Metroid Prime is in terms of Storytelling by the environment and Level design the by far superior game. Although this is a disappointment, compared to how much praise and love this game gets, these aspects are not my biggest issues I have with these game. The worst thing are the controls, seriously, I always thought this game will control well, because of the positive reputation. But the exact opposite is the case. First there is the famous dodge roll, which has a terrible delay, so it never feels really intuitive or fun to use. Then there is the Lock On System which make things even worse. You can target one enemy, but the problem is the unreliability. It happens easy, that in the middle of the fight, the lockpoint suddenly switches the target, which leads to unnecessary damage or deaths. Speaking of deaths, I quit the game before the gargoyle fight. I reached the boss one time, died, and have to fight my way to the boss again. Sorry, when Metroid Prime gets criticized by using save stations, than this is by far the worst level design ****. You as a beginner can easily miss a bonfire, where you can rest and lost all your progress by simply choosing the wrong way. This is exactly what happened to me after I beat the Taurus demon. This game is simply trial and error all the time and when you figure out, how you beat one enemy type, you can not rely on, that they always act the same. In ten tries, there will be one try, where some normal enemy you fight against, act completely different from the nine tries you have done before. All the enemies have a by far quicker movement. Where you have to fight against clunky and sluggish controls. Most of the deaths you will have are not because of less experience or skill. No most of them are the result of choosing the wrong way and facing a superior enemy, cheap death traps, or the bad control scheme.

A very fun and especially charming game. The character design of Sir Daniel Fortesque is one of the best designs developers have ever created. Furthermore the complete art style of this game has aged well, so that it looks still fantastic. Depending on how much time you invest in the mini-games or if you are going for full completion, this games playtime lies between five and ten hours, which sounds poor, however every level feels unique and offers a great variety, so that you never get bored. But there are some flaws of course. The controls are clearly outdated by modern standards. There is no lock on system, so all the fights are simple button mashing, using a sprint attack or perform a charged hit to free yourself from a group of enemies. Another problem is that the camera sometimes cause trouble because it positioned at the exact opposite position you need. The last thing I have to complain about is, that the bosses have all a defined time window where you can damage them, you can however hit some of them, outside of that window, but then they will not lose energy. Thankfully all of these three negative points weren't able to cloud the fun time I had with this game. The problems I mentioned can be quick overcome and then they are only a little black spot on a cool, funny and most importantly unique game experience. I really enjoyed my time with this game and his strengths definitely overweight the weaknesses by far.

The boards, they choose are beautiful redesigned, the minigames they have chosen are really a best of and a homogeneous mixture that works perfectly. However there is one big issue and now one and half year after release i am sure we will not get a DLC, which fixes it. This game has to few boards. Seriously how can a Mario Party, which is commercialized as a Best of-Version have only five boards, when even the original Mario Party on the N64 has eight boards in total and six of them are playable right from the start. I really have a lot of fun with the game, but it could be more, if I had more boards to choose from. Ten boards should be the minimum for a game like this.

All the opportunities you have and all the locations you can visit and explore, are the reason I spent hours and hours into the game. However, this game gets tiring after a while. The first Ruins of the Draugr are interesting and atmospheric expierience, but there are so many of them, that it gets boring after a while. Speaking of to many, there are way to many dragons and I know this is because of the main quest. Unfortunately the fights against the dragons are to easy, the last fight against Alduin is a joke. Furthermore, the way to level up some of your skills is annoying and boring, blacksmithing is the infamous example here. The combat feels not really exciting. It makes you feel like playing Diablo on an egoperspective. All in all the world, interesting locations and some NPC 's are the strong aspects of the game.

This game is still a masterpiece and shines now in an astonishing, gorgeous glory. It creates a feeling of next level gaming on a long outdated console. The environments looking more organic and alive than ever before. Especially Magmoor Caverns and the Tallon Overworld take the most profit from the new textures and the details, they where added. The raindrops are falling back when you hold your weapon up and they are falling in front, when you hold your weapon down. The lava is pulsing and when you are come close to it, you can now see a strong heat haze, which was not be in the original. So you can now visually feel the heat in this region, Sound is great as it was on original release and manages to create a deep, immersive experience, which fits the environment perfectly. The different control options are awesome and the new "modern" twin-stick FPS-Controls works great, however there is one little complain I have. The switch between the beams is a bit annoying and has not the same flow like the original classic control scheme. in my opinion the classic control is the perfect way to play it even today, because this game was originally designed with this control scheme in mind. Sure it is different from modern standards, but you can get used to it quickly and this is exactly the reason, the tutorial level at the beginning was designed for. However, one advantage of the modern control is, that you have a quicker movement, which makes the situations where you have to backtrack not feeling that much of an issue, than it was before. The level design is simply perfect and even the points where you have to backtrack are filled with power ups as a reward, so it never gets annoying. In my eyes this game can positively stand out even today, because of its originality. There is no other game like it, even the two sequels are way different compared to Metroid Prime. Last but not least is Metroid Prime Remastered a Remaster of an all-time classic as it should be. A Remaster like this should be the standard and not the exception. For these reasons it still get a 10 out 10 from my perspective.

I like Pokemon, I really do so. I have spent more than 1200 hours into Sword and Shield and I knew that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet wouldn't be the best games on a technical side. However, these games are technically crap. It is like playing a mid 90 's 3D Game on PlayStation before Mario 64 comes out and sets the standards for 3D-Gaming, Clipping, bugs and NPC 's which are moving on five fps, when you are not standing next to them. Pokemon can clip into a wall and are not catchable for you anymore. On top a lifeless and empty environment. No city you are visit is appealing to explore, because the only buildings you can enter are the arenas and the ones which you have to, to make progress in the story. If you enter a shop, only a menu drops in where you can choose what you want to buy. Or to make it short. Waddle Dee Town in Kirby and the forgotten land is more charming, appealing, full of life and beautiful, than the entire world in Scarlet and Violet. And if this is not enough, the raids are even worse. Because they simply doesn't work so no fun can be created. The raids are unbalanced, a technical disaster and on top, because of this two major problems are five stars raids or higher online with others not understandable. The reason is a huge delay even when you play local and your friends are sitting next to you. This is so embarrassing and disappointing, especially when you see that the new pokemon are all really nice and behind some of them is an interesting concept. I like the new Pokemon of Generation nine overall. These games could be easily the best Pokemon games, but the huge amount of problems, which are mostly on the technical side reduces the potential fun I could have with these games to a minimum.

Great game and the best in the series by far. The Story catches your interest soon and the characters are well written, so that they get your attention very quickly I had never so much fun to see my characters growing and developing. The hero characters you can unlock during the game by completing their missions are adding a lot to the plot itself and the development of your characters. These temporary party members bring not only a new class to master, their also bring a ton of variety thanks to the fact that every hero has their own unique personality. The battle system is more passive and how successful you are, depends on the talents your characters have, the group composition and the classes you are currently use. Every class has different properties, although their belong to the same category. The motivation and fascination comes from experimenting with them. The music is amazing. Especially the moebius theme is so exciting and gorgeous that it always feels like final boss time. The cutscenes are mostly emotional, but some of them are also funny too. However there are some flaws which holds this game back. The battles becoming more and more repetitive. After you finally learn how to do an Ouroboros-Chain-Attack. Every battle has the same scheme and you always need to follow the same steps to win. Another flaw is the final boss fight. This fight is to long and the first phase of it is only time consuming. All in all it is a great game, which takes the Xenoblade Series up to a new level.

This game is good and yes, if you want to try out Xenoblade Chronicles this is truly the definitive version to do so. Although the original is now twelve years old, it offers still a gorgeous and beautiful soundtrack, a organic and visual astonishing environment and a deep characterdevelopement. Furthermore the characters of your party itself have all their own relationships between each other. Some of them and the way how it will develop are quite obvious, but nevertheless interesting to watch. The battle system is complex, intuitive and most importantly offers a great variety of interactions, so that will feel directly involved. In this categories it still holds up great against modern games. It would get 9 out of 10 rating from me, if there was not be one big flaw in the game and its structure. This game is overloaded with, repetitive and mostly boring side quests. This alone would not be that much of a problem, because the story is what really counts. However to make progress in the main story and go further in the games plot, you have to complete a lot of these side quest. If you don't you will sooner or later come to a point where you have to grind a certain amount of levels to be strong enough. Unfortunately, there are only four types of them. Killing a special monster, killing a bunch of monsters, collect one ore more specific Items, or search one specific Quest Item like a key. The plot itself is at the beginning full of questions which is easily the most exciting part in the story. Sadly the final plot twist and the explaination behind all this, is however absolutley ridiculous. All in all a great game with outdated and boring side quests, which you unfortunately have to make use of it.

This game is so much fun. The gameplay is simple but very entertaining and the big amount of unlockables will keep you motivated for a while. With four players, this game gets very intense and in a fun way very chaotic. Furthermore the rounds are short enough that you quickly get the "just one more round" feeling. The tracks and battle arenas offers visual variety, so even if you get a track in the new round, which you have had before, the track will then look different. The cake, which is one of them for example can be a chocolate, mint or strawberry cake. Then you have plenty of opportunities to costumize your own Kirby. The presentation is charming and cute. The start menu is interactive and give you a first impression of the controls. The attention to detail is very high like in Kirby and the forgotten land. The only issue is that the online mode has sometimes terrible slowdowns. The game itself is its prize definitely worth and offers you more content than Mario Strikers Battle League Football did.

I have just completed this game and in my opinion get this game more praise than it's deserve. Sure it is a very fun and experimental game, where you have many opportunities to complete it. The good aspects first. I really like the concept of the game that you can go to Ganon, the final boss, when ever you want. This leads to countless different ways to play and experience it. In consequence it gets also a lot of replay value, because of the different options you have to reach the goal. The shrines, one of the most controversial new addition for nearly all of the players, is also one of my favourite new elements the developer have added. The little puzzle rooms, work like a collectible and also as tricky little puzzles to keep the motivation high. The player is always in control of the pace and able to make free decisions on his own. Another top aspect is the world itself. Hyrule looks beautiful, has a lot of secrets to explore and offers a variety of environments. The complete world feels alive and the music which unusually subtle for a Zelda game fits it all perfectly. However, now here are my issues with the game. The new element, that your weapons will broke down, is annoying all the time you play and especially at the beginning simply frustrating. You only get weak weapons which will broke down very quickly, so you need to get another weak weapon. Thankfully this gets better when you make more progress. But this Problem runs through the entire game. The second complain I have is the camera angle, especially in combat. They have never improved on that since 1998. At that time it was not that bad, because at that time there weren't much enemies on the screen. But now You it can easily happen, that you have to face four or five enemies simultaneously. At that point you realise that the combat system is not made for situations like that. The final boss fight against Ganon is really bad and a huge disappointment. Clunky controls and an outdated concept are the main reasons for that. My last complain is the praise itself that the game gets. This is by far not the best game on switch. Super Mario Odyssey and Kirby and the forgotten Land are by far the better games, because they implemented their new features, way more clever than Breath of the Wild did. Both games also feel more polished, than Breath of the Wild. It is clearly a good game but far away from being a masterpiece.

I was not able to stop playing and completed it six times. There are some sanity effects that are technically outdated and are not able to trick you anymore, but some of them, are able to create what the f..k moments even today. The voice acting, sound and music is fantastic and creates a deep and scary atmosphere. The story feels so big, because the threat the characters have to face comes from another dimension and is an indescribable superior force. So the game is very good at it, to show that the protagonists are only normal humans who have to fight against something which is beyond their imagination. The gameplay itself is the early 2000's standard. However the controls is way better than in the resident evil games at that time. The magic system gives the player some room to experiment with and add some interesting mechanics to the basic combat. The atmosphere of the different locations switches between mysterious, threatening and scaring. Sometimes in a very dynamic way. All in all an All-Time-Classic and it definitely manages to catch the spirit of the Lovecraft-horror.

There is a story, however it is another basic pokemon story although there are this time some highlights. The problem is, after the main story, the motivation to keep playing falls down rapidly. Because after the main Story with Dialga/Palkia the only thing which is left for you to do is catching Pokemon to complete your Pokedex so you can finally face Arceus. So to summarize it. The game only has two gameplay elements. Catching Pokemon and loot material to produce items and tools which helping you to catch Pokemon. To make it clear, my rating is based on the full updated Version of the game. The story mode on it's own would be only a 6/10 and can easy be summarized as an basic short Kirby Game. However I like all the characters which were added step by step and the new mode with harder versions of the bosses is exactly the addition the game has needed. So in the end this Game transformed into a solid game for all who like Kirby or be fans of the franchise. In my case I like the opportunity to form a team of allies with characters like Magolor, Gooey or Suzi from the previous games. I like the new challenging mode, with his tricky and clever puzzles. I like the things you can unlock, because it feels like a tribute to Kirby and the franchise itself. The only problem is, that this game lacks of originality. The positive first, because there is not much to write here. The animations for all characters are charming and great. Sadly this is were most of the effort was put into so now we can straight go forward to the negative aspects of the game. Oh boy is this list long. The main problem is quite simple. The field is to small and the gameplay itself feels very unintuitive. There are some cool mechanics, but you are not able to make use of them, because of these two main issues the game has. On the higher difficulty this game gets only frustrating, the CPU will your characters tackle all over the place and it is nearly impossible to built up some game flow. The handling itself feels clunky and aged. The customization of your characters does not have the effect you might think it have. I spent my earned coins to buy the gear parts and combine them, however the effect is too low and after some frustrating matches I went back to the standard and felt no difference. The hyperkick animation becomes boring after a while because you can't skip them, especially when you not done it perfectly it gets really annoying. To make this clear, my rating is only based on my Single Player experience, were I finished the story mode. I know there is a coop mode either, but after I finished the main game, I really don't have the motivation to spend more time with this game which perfectly leads to my reasons, why I give these game only a rating 8/10. First of all. If you played Luigi's Mansion and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, you will have no problems to get right into it, because the developers take the best of the previous games and put it together. Simply great, the game also looks gorgeous and the typical charm Luigi's Mansion has is there from beginning to the end of the game. Furthermore there are 18 different bosses which are clearly the stars of the game thanks to their huge variety they offer when you fight them. Every boss is a unique puzzle which you have to solve to reach the next area. The scenarios are also very different to each other and offer you a big visual variety. And when you think, that this sounds like a game that deserves more than a 8/10, than you are right, but here is the thing. The fatal flaw of this game is the playtime. You need about 15 to 20 hours to complete the game in a normal playthrough without collecting all of the stuff you can go for when you want to fully complete it. In this game you have to explore 17 floors to get to the final boss fight and although I like the boss battles himself the exploring of the floors himself become quickly very repetitive. When you successfully completed the first four floors in the game, you have all the tools the gameplay has to offer and there are still 13 floors remaining. They bring a new feature with Gooigi to the established formula. Unfortunately the situations where you have to use him are most of the time quite obvious and so after a few floors the feeling of doing the same things over and over again overcome me and the motivation sinks despite the beautiful scenarios. I really struggled with a lack of motivation to make it through the end because of that. In the end it was overall an enjoyable experience, but I guess I will never play it again, because of these, in my eyes, big issue I had with the game. 11 floors with a playtime roundabout 10 hours would be perfect for this game in my opinion.

This game is simply a big step forward for Kirby in every way. The new 3D environment is beautiful, colorful and a fun experience to explore. Mouthful mode is a cool new mechanic which is well and naturally implemented. However mouthful mode is not the only big change, when we are talking about gameplay mechanics. It was not so present in the trailers, but the feature, that you now can upgrade your abilities is also a big step forward and keep a now almost 30 years old game mechanic fresh. So the gameplay itself is perfect and I never had so much fun with a Kirby game before. Furthermore Kirby was never so cute, so charming and thanks to Waddle Dee Town the world feels so alive, which is ironic when you play in a post apocalyptic world. All in all simply a great game and exact the big step forward the series needs.

Its a masterpiece, simply a masterpiece. i have thought that the times, were I spent hours and nights into a game are over. However, this game proved me wrong, I was so fascinated from the story, the characters and the battle system, that I simply couldn't put the controller away. The turn-based battle system is easy to learn and never gets frustrated or boring. There are a variety of strategies you can experiment with. In combination with the ability system, the motivation to fight gets never lost. You always want to level up to get enough ability points for the next technique or ability. So the core element of the gameplay is motivational and very fun. Although it is a very important aspect of each JRPG, the gameplay alone is not the reason, why I rate this game with the 10 out of 10. The main reason are the story and in combination with that, the characters. There are so many fantastic JRPG's like the Final Fantasy Series, the Tales of Series or Xenoblade Chronicles. However creating a cast of characters where anyone of them gets a deep character developement with interesting facets is difficult to achieve. Dragon Quest did just that. Every character, which will become one of your allies, has his own unique motivation, his own unique attitude, his own beliefs and most importantly his own backstory with other strong characters. For example, the relationship between Henrik and Jasper is one of the strongest side-stories in the game. Rabs sections of characterdevelopement and funny and serious moments are balanced perfectly. Sylvandos joyful attitude will thrill you sooner or later. The story as a whole, gets better from act to act. The third act, which is post-game is by far the best of the three. I don't want to spoiler here. Only one thing. Best time travel plot I have seen so far.
