The Last Faith is an experience big enough to keep fans of the material occupied for 15 hours or so — the story is straightforward and the combat is… fine? Unfortunately for it, 2023 has been one of the busiest, richest years for quality game releases, and in light of such competition, The Last Faith doesn’t have much to offer.

The Last Faith does not pretend to overcome its prior inspirations but impeccably attains a satisfying length and experience. It carefully adopts classic sensations, covering players in some of the genre's finest moments. Thus, in a gaming landscape inundated with overly ambitious Metroidvanias featuring ambitious maps, this game's convincing approach makes it an exciting challenge to complete at least once and a fair experience with increased difficulty for those who seek tougher battles after the initial completion.

The Last Faith is full of rough edges. But Kumi Souls managed to create a very exciting game that motivates you to explore every corner of this mysterious world.

Metroidvania très sympa avec beaucoup de références à Bloodborne et CastelVania.

A great game in the Castlevania style. It was worth playing; the gameplay is quite fun. The story, however, is average, but satisfying.

Pixelated would be Bloodborne clone in Metrodivania style, where every chick related creature is called "My lady" or at least "Lady", with simplified character stats. I can think of a dozen betters, running on the same idea.
...but... looks decent.

The Last Faith takes the Metroidvania genre and elevates it to new heights. Its high level of challenge is met with exceptional game design that allows all players to master gameplay systems before confronting formidable enemies. The narrative gradually builds alongside the gothic atmosphere, providing an immersive experience for players. I’m unsure what will come of the Metroidvania genre, but The Last Faith has unquestionably set a new standard.

If you like Castlevania's delightful playability and Bloodborne's gothic design thinking, The Last Faith won't leave you disappointed for a single second.

It has been a while since I played a game so exciting. I loved the variety of the weapons. I found several during the game. It took me about 10 days to finish it and I am definitely playing it again to discover more areas. The game is spectacular and I can’t wait for whats next

The Last Faith is a very challenging soulsvania game that doesn't bring much innovation to the genre, but as you play you'll realize you don't want to put it down.

In the end, The Last Faith is good but not great. The weapon variety makes the combat system feel very nice, while the special moves and parrying can be safely ignored by most players. The side-quests feel like unnecessary fluff, but at least the main questline is good enough to keep players engaged. The misuse of classes and lack of the ability to re-spec your character feel like missed opportunities when more modern games in the Soulslike genre have started to adopt this. The obtuseness in various areas gives off unwarranted but pretentious vibes. While it may not be the kind of game you should immediately launch into, The Last Faith is a title that makes for a good time when you want to get into hardier fare between other titles.

The Last Faith is a strong title with some clear stumbles, but quality still wins out more often than not, and I’m eager to see Kumi Souls Games’ next effort as a result.

This is a great first attempt by Kumi Souls Games, and as long as they continue working on the unpolished parts of the game, and keep the aesthetic approach and good VA, they'll do just fine.

The Last Faith fails to make waves in a market already far too saturated to make space for something that doesn't bring innovation. Beautiful design, both in sound and scene, is let down by predictable gameplay.

The Last Faith, while falling short of groundbreaking innovation, provides a satisfying experience for fans of the 2D platforming genre. Its atmospheric setting, challenging encounters, and diverse weapon options contribute to an enjoyable journey, even if it lacks the distinctiveness of its inspirations.

Needs to add animation cancelling to attacks, so I can jump to avoid during an attack. I can press roll and jump fast to mimic the ability to cancel an attack to jump, so just add it to make it easier. Literally dying cause I can only roll.
There's also a lot of complaints about the combat in reviews. The long windup during the 1st axe attack is a perfect example of the sluggish combat. Everything in the game feels like it's in slow motion tbh. Also needs to change the parry system to one button used. Using 2 buttons is a pain in the rear. Would of been much better imo if the game copied Blasphemous flask system. The whole thing feels unbalanced the way it works in this game.
In conclusion, I feel Steam reviews, and everything as a whole ( ports included ) would be 80-90% overwhelmingly positive instead of 70-80% positive if you added simple fixes/tweaks. I'm actually surprised it has 80% positive reviews on Steam, but then I carefully look at the positive reviews, and there's A LOT of reviews from accounts with no games in their account, and with just 1-3 reviews. I really hope these are honest reviews, and are not just reviews used to bump up the positive rating.
The game isn't bad. There's a solid foundation here. What really annoys me is that this could easily be on Blasphemous' level if some things were changed/improved, and it wouldn't really take that much to do so. The art and music is really good, but once again it's the game play mechanics that fall short. etc etc etc.
I've seen this happen a lot with Metroidvanias lately. Dev's make a game that looks great, sounds great, etc. , but imo it all means little if the game isn't fun to play.
This is just my opinion though. There seems to be a good amount of ppl who enjoy the game, and it's worth trying. I just hope the game keeps getting patched and improved, and then we have a potential masterpiece here. P.S. The Switch port needs a lot of work, again. Nintendo is really pissing me off with how underpowered the Switch is. I don't blame the dev's.

Uninspired and boring atmosphere, feels bad mechanically, and is both brain dead easy and extremely tedious. It’s a game
that is only difficult to tolerate, not execute.

A broken 2D clone of Bloodborne.
This thing is no even finish; softlocks, Bosses not appearing on screen, bad balancing... Just go play Blasphemous 1 & 2, again.
