Lost Soul Aside7
Sep 12, 2025
Lost Soul Aside Art Direction: The game is gorgeous. The world, environments, and overall character design are very appealing. Nothing groundbreaking, but everything looks beautiful and well-crafted. Gameplay: Fast-paced, fluid, and spectacular. Every battle delivers a real sense of power and dynamism. You can tell the studio prioritized fun above all, and it works. OST: Very enjoyable. It perfectly matches the action, both during battles and quieter moments. It gives the game a striking atmosphere, worthy of a JRPG. Story: Simple and classic. Around twenty hours of playtime, with no unnecessary pretension. Unlike a certain Final Fantasy XVI, Lost Soul Aside doesn’t try to be something it’s not—you know exactly what to expect. Like FFXVI, the hero is “good just because he’s good,” and the villain is “evil just because he’s evil.” Basic writing, but intentional. Still, it remains more coherent than FFXVI’s clumsy attempt at ambitious storytelling. Direction: The first chapter feels uneven, sometimes awkward in its presentation, but things improve greatly afterward, delivering some really strong sequences. Characters: Interesting—even endearing—but they could have used more development to truly leave a mark. As for the bestiary, it’s rather weak: you often fight the same enemies. World: Probably one of the most surprising aspects. Lost Soul Aside truly understands the essence of Final Fantasy. It could easily have been an official spin-off, as it adopts many of the series’ key elements—sometimes even surpassing FFXVI in essential areas. --- Conclusion: Lost Soul Aside is a game that embraces both its strengths and its limits. It doesn’t claim to revolutionize the genre but shines with excellent gameplay and spectacular set pieces. An effective, generous, and thrilling action game that almost deserves to bear the Final Fantasy name, as it captures the series’ spirit better than FFXVI does.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 336

Graphically, on PS5 Pro, it's not always flawless: some slowdowns in cutscenes, a few technical issues... Nothing dramatic, but if this were a AAA game, the critiques would be pouring in. However, given that it's from a small studio, this can be forgiven, and I think it's important to mention that. That said, for a first game, it's a very good **** terms of gameplay, the game draws from what’s done elsewhere in RPGs, with a touch of Final Fantasy IX for learning skills through accessories (pictos), which are mastered permanently after several battles. It also takes the user interface and visual style of the Persona series. We also see inspirations from Mario RPG, Legend of Dragoon, among others, in the manual actions. Counters, dodges, jumps, and QTEs are essential for progression, and some enemies are quite punishing, while others are real sakapate, which can be frustrating when you can't get through, but once you learn the rhythm and enemy patterns, it becomes quite fun. However, after 4 to 5 hours of play, the system becomes repetitive.
The progression in linear phases, despite a very beautiful art direction, ends up feeling a bit monotonous, and sometimes even tedious, especially when it includes branching paths. You quickly get the impression of being in a maze, as it’s easy to end up going in circles. The world map, although it’s a technical trick from 90s RPGs to evoke exploration and adventure, doesn’t work here: it breaks the immersion, clashes with the game's realism, disrupts the rhythm, and gives the sensation of a world that is empty and **** ergonomics also reserve a few surprises: L3 for switching characters (while it’s used for running in 95% of games). The menus, on the other hand, are hard to read, a point that would benefit from some reworking. The ability to make multiple manual saves, which is missing here, would have been very **** the other hand, the art direction is very beautiful. The game manages to create a visual identity, mixing Paris of the Belle Époque with darker and more fantastical influences, quite Souls-like nad BioShock in its atmosphere and environments, making it all quite **** music, overall, is pleasant. Some tracks change style, which can be pleasantly surprising. A few compositions really stand out, especially the battle **** story tackles very mature themes, with a solid, quite touching, and poetic plot. The direction is generally well executed, featuring fairly classic characters, but overall well written, with some being particularly charismatic or touching, while others lack development. Overall, the twists are well executed. However, some plot twists happen a bit too quickly, and some topics lack development, leaving some questions **** game paints quite a poetic picture, carried by a striking art direction and a unique world. Its French touch and boldness in its inspirations give it something unique. Despite a few technical flaws, quickly repetitive gameplay, and sometimes frustrating progression, it offers a unique and bold experience with a good playtime. A promising first attempt that will appeal mostly to the curious and lenient RPG fans.

World of Final Fantasy: A Promising Universe for a Lifeless. AdventureWorld of Final Fantasy had everything on paper to be appealing: a colorful world, a concept that crosses different Final Fantasy universes, and a return to turn-based gameplay. Unfortunately, behind this promising facade, the experience quickly turns out to be **** world, while visually charming, isn’t enough to save the whole. The story is painfully uninteresting: it struggles to captivate, and both the stakes and the characters feel flat and forgettable. The desire to keep playing fades quickly as the plot lacks any real depth or **** gameplay, based on a creature-capturing system, aims for nostalgia but ends up being discouragingly slow. Battles lack dynamism, and the repetitive nature of capturing monsters weighs heavily on the overall pace of the game. What could have been an enjoyable mechanic soon becomes a drag on the entire experience. As for the soundtrack — usually a strong point in the Final Fantasy series — it disappoints here as well. Very few tracks are memorable, and the overall musical atmosphere feels functional but completely lacking in **** short, World of Final Fantasy is a bland experience. Despite a universe that had the potential to be much more captivating, its flat story, sluggish gameplay, and forgettable music make it a minor and easily forgettable entry in the great Final Fantasy saga.

Death Stranding DC: A Unique and Moving Experience. Death Stranding is a work that leaves no one indifferent. Its story is incredibly gripping and deeply touching, carried by human themes that are rare in the world of video games. Every revelation, every bond forged between characters captivates and moves the player, constantly reinforcing immersion in this broken yet hopeful **** direction is simply incredible. Hideo Kojima and his team deliver a masterful artistic vision, where every shot, every camera movement seems carefully crafted to serve the raw emotion of the narrative. The music is phenomenal: used with surgical precision, it elevates moments of exploration and solitude to create truly unforgettable sequences. Musical interventions are rare but always perfectly placed, leaving a lasting **** the gameplay side, Death Stranding offers a unique experience. While the delivery phases can be divisive, they ultimately prove fascinating thanks to the strategic management of terrain, equipment, and stamina. It becomes a true adventure where every step matters, and every hill climbed feels like a small victory. The action phases are exhilarating: when facing off against MULEs or BTs, the tension rises sharply, resulting in intense and thrilling encounters. Finally, the concept of the connected mode — where other players can leave structures to help you without ever meeting directly — is simply a stroke of genius. This feeling of invisible cooperation, of solidarity among strangers, fits perfectly with the game's message and strengthens the sense of being part of something greater than **** short, Death Stranding is a masterful, bold, and emotional work. Driven by a strong story, brilliant direction, and singular gameplay, it offers an unforgettable experience for those willing to fully embrace it.Death Stranding is, quite simply, a masterpiece.

Persona 5 Royal – A Captivating Adventure, Though Sometimes a Bit Restrictive Persona 5 Royal is a remarkable work, carried by an exceptional soundtrack. Every track, whether energetic or melancholic, perfectly enhances the atmosphere and gives the game a unique sonic identity. The music beautifully accompanies the emotions of the story and stays with you long after turning off the **** themes explored are particularly compelling: social injustice, oppression, the duality between appearance and truth... The game boldly tackles profound subjects with intelligence, without ever feeling gratuitously heavy.Despite its turn-based combat system, Persona 5 Royal manages to inject real dynamism into its battles. The mechanics are fluid, strategic, and visually stylish, making each encounter exciting and never **** characters are extremely endearing. Each one has their own story, wounds, and dreams, making it easy to grow attached to them over the course of the adventure. Their personal growth adds a lot of emotional depth to the experience. However, despite all its qualities, Persona 5 Royal sometimes feels a bit too linear. It would have been enjoyable to roam more freely through the streets of Tokyo, exploring a more lively and open city. The very guided structure occasionally limits immersion and the feeling of **** dialogue phases, while sometimes interesting, often stretch on for too long, which can break the pacing and exhaust players who are less drawn to this narrative **** summary, Persona 5 Royal is a deeply memorable adventure, elevated by its music, characters, and powerful themes, but it could have benefited from offering a bit more freedom and trimming some of its narrative segments.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut10
Apr 28, 2025
Ghost of Tsushima - A Poetic Masterpiece Ghost of Tsushima is nothing short of a breathtaking experience. The gameplay is incredibly satisfying and exhilarating, striking a perfect balance between fluid combat and tactical depth. Every sword clash feels impactful, every movement precise, making each encounter a joy to master. One of the game's most brilliant choices is the near-complete absence of a traditional HUD. This decision allows players to fully immerse themselves in Tsushima’s stunning world without distractions. Instead of intrusive markers, you are guided by the wind — a subtle, elegant idea that enhances the connection between the player and the environment in a way that feels natural and deeply respectful of the setting. The art direction and graphics are absolutely magnificent. Every landscape, every gust of wind through the golden fields, every sunset over the ocean feels meticulously crafted, almost painted onto the screen. The influence of Akira Kurosawa is beautifully honored through the cinematic presentation — from the framing of scenes to the evocative use of light and shadow, it feels like living inside a moving samurai film. The open world is a true pleasure to explore. It never feels like a checklist or a grind; instead, every journey across the island is filled with discovery, beauty, and meaning. Whether following a fox to a hidden shrine or simply riding through fields of pampas grass, Ghost of Tsushima turns exploration into an emotional, almost meditative experience. Ultimately, Ghost of Tsushima is a poem in motion. Every element — from its combat to its world design — breathes poetry and art. It’s a love letter to the spirit of the samurai, and a shining example of how video games can transcend into something truly timeless.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth10
Apr 27, 2025
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: A Perfect Balance Between Action and Strategy Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a true success, offering a perfect blend of Action gameplay and the ATB (Active Time Battle) system, which adds a real strategic dimension to an action game. Unlike many action games where you simply mash a button to defeat enemies, FFVII Rebirth requires players to think about their combat choices and adapt their strategy based on the situation. Every encounter demands tactics, whether it’s choosing which character to use, which ability to activate, or how to manage the ATB. This hybrid system of action and strategy is a treat for fans of the genre and adds depth to the gameplay. The story of FFVII Rebirth also succeeds in immersing us fully into its reimagined world. While staying true to the original, the narrative introduces twists and adjustments that enrich the experience without betraying the essence of the 1997 work. You’re swept away by the adventure and the character development, which, thanks to a carefully crafted narrative, makes the characters even more endearing. It’s a joy to follow the group, each with their own personality and challenges, which strengthens the emotional investment of the player. The reimagined music is absolutely beautiful and infuses a strong sense of nostalgia. The iconic themes are brilliantly rearranged, bringing a fresh breath while preserving the spirit of the original. Whether during epic scenes or more intimate moments, the music enhances the atmosphere and pulls us back into the world of Final Fantasy VII with palpable emotion. The addition of an open world, gradually accessible throughout the story, is a successful compromise. This allows the narrative pace to be maintained while offering the opportunity to explore a vast and beautiful world. The balance between the linear progression of the story and exploration is perfectly handled, offering the best of both worlds: a captivating adventure while allowing the player to get lost in a rich and detailed environment. The game is also rich in mini-games, adding a fun and varied dimension to the experience. These side activities provide moments of relaxation between battles and allow players to earn useful rewards. However, for completionists, this can become a bit tedious, as the number of mini-games and the need to complete them 100% in order to unlock all rewards can sometimes slow down the main game’s progression. In summary, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a game that perfectly combines action, strategy, and storytelling. It successfully reinvents the experience while staying true to the spirit of the original, with enchanting music and a fascinating open world. A true gem for both long-time fans of the series and newcomers, though completionists should be prepared to invest time in the mini-games.

Final Fantasy XVI1
Apr 27, 2025
Final Fantasy XVI: A Disappointment That Doesn’t Live Up to Expectations. Final Fantasy XVI, a title that generated excitement among fans, unfortunately turns out to be a disappointment in many ways.
Let’s start with the art direction, which lacks any real impact. It’s neither memorable nor bold, with visuals that don’t leave a lasting impression like previous entries in the series. The game seems to play it safe, failing to innovate or present a unique visual identity. While it doesn’t completely ruin the experience, it certainly leaves a feeling of "it could have been better." The soundtrack, on the other hand, is a strong point. Composed by Masayoshi Soken, the music in FFXVI is of high quality. However, this is where the game fails to fully capitalize on it. The most striking tracks, which should have accompanied key moments in the game, are almost absent or underutilized. The music, which could have elevated dramatic or epic scenes, stays in the background, leaving an empty space that is hard to fill. Such a soundtrack deserved to shine in more pivotal moments, making this a missed opportunity. The gameplay, unfortunately, is one of FFXVI's weakest points. Far from being a strategic RPG, we’re left with a pure Beat ‘Em Up, with frantic combat that lacks depth. The tactical and strategic aspects that were present in earlier Final Fantasy games are completely absent, replaced by simple button-mashing. This lack of depth makes the combat repetitive and unengaging. Moreover, the RPG aspect is almost non-existent. There’s no real character development, no choices to be made, and the protagonist’s growth is as linear and predictable as it gets. As for the story, it starts off quite promising with intriguing political stakes that could have given the game a whole new layer. But after the first few captivating hours, the narrative quickly falls into simplicity. The hero is a predictable "good guy," and the villain is simply "evil," with no nuance. It becomes clear what’s going to happen, and every plot twist falls flat. The characters lack depth, and their development is non-existent, making it hard to care about or connect with them. The game also misses the opportunity to delve into the political aspect it teases but fails to truly explore until later, and when it finally attempts to, it stumbles completely, falling into clichés. In summary, Final Fantasy XVI has everything it needs to be a great game, but it never lives up to its promises. With a lackluster art direction, a poorly used soundtrack, simplistic gameplay, and a storyline that quickly loses its appeal, the game ends up being a disappointing experience. It’s a game that could have offered much more, but instead, it sticks to a predictable path, never taking any risks.

Final Fantasy XV: A Captivating World, but an Uneven Narrative Final Fantasy XV is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable games in the series. The plot is fascinating, with a rich universe and deep stakes, but the way the story is told can sometimes leave the player lost in shortcuts or lack of depth in key scenes. This aspect could have been improved to offer a more emotional **** characters are one of the game’s strong points. Each one is endearing, with their own personality and backstory that develops as the game progresses. The bond between the protagonists, especially the friendship between Noctis and his companions, adds a very human dimension to the adventure, making every moment spent with them precious.Gameplay-wise, FFXV offers a simple and smooth experience, easy to pick up, which is a positive for new players. However, the combat system sometimes lacks strategic depth. It aims to be accessible, but the tactical options are limited for those looking for more challenge or complexity in their encounters. Finally, the mini-games are quite interesting and provide a bit of variety to the main experience. They allow players to take a break from the main rhythm of the game and have fun at another level, though they are not essential to the overall experience. In summary, Final Fantasy XV is a beautiful and memorable game, with great graphics, music, and characters, but its uneven story and gameplay that sometimes lacks strategy hold it back from reaching its full potential. It’s a game worth discovering, but it could have been even better with a more polished narrative and a deeper combat system.
