Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is my favorite Resident Evil game that utilizes the series' original gameplay and presentation. Nemesis remains the series' best villain.

The Resident Evil remake is plain and simply one of the best games ever made.

Resident Evil 0: HD Remaster is the last of the old school Resident Evil games. A great companion piece to Resident Evil: HD Remake and adds many intriguing story points to the overall RE lore, including key story elements for RE5.

Demon's Souls, the start of the Soulslike game genre is as good as it was in 2009.

The Saboteur deserves so much more love. It's the WW2 Assassin's Creed I always wanted but with style.

Mafia: Definitive Edition really surprised me. Lost Heaven is a fully realized 1930's midwestern city. The driving, shooting/cover and traversal are all handled well. The story and voice/character work is really where the game excels.

As a fan of Fury Road this game surprised the hell out of me. This is the Mad Max game I've always wanted to play. The gameplay feels like a mash up of The Last of Us (PS3) and Batman Arkham Knight which turns out is a awesome combination.

Ultimate Spider-man is my favorite Spider-Man game. The comic art style gives an ageless feel and the voice acting is well preformed. The combat and web swinging maybe simplistic but the web traversal and boss battles are some of the best in any Spider-man game. Peter and Eddie are the two playable characters and there isn't a dull or wasted moment. The story does not overstay it's welcome and has a satisfying ending.

Max Payne 3 is arguably the most well crafted third person shooter ever made.

As with everything from this era of Rockstar Games. The Ballad of Gay Tony is endlessly impressive. Highlighting the high roller night life of Liberty city that was only glimpsed in the main game. Luis's missions are more over the top when compared to the majority of Niko's but still grounded in the grand scheme of Rockstar's library.

A continuation of Altaïr's story that fills in the narrative gaps between Assassin's Creed 1&2. Gameplay is surprisingly fun on psp.

The first entry in the long running Assassin's Creed franchise may get overshadowed by it's expansive sequels. However, AC stands as a corner stone in the open world action genre. Dreamlike and atmospheric unlike any other in the series.

GRAND THEFT AUTO IV is arguably the best Grand Theft Auto game. Perfectly capturing post 2001 America and expertly satirizes it.

An improvement on it's predecessor in every way. Does not over stay it's welcome. Noir to it's core.

The Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption formula is applied seamlessly to academia.

Unlike anything I've ever played. RDR2 feels like a 100+ hour interactive novel.

The original open world sandbox game. 21 years after it's release GTA III holds up and is just as playable today as it was then.

The noir game of the PS2 era. The action gameplay was about a decade ahead of its time.

An entertaining prelude to GTA3. The addition of motorcycles is a welcome one.

Possible the greatest DLC ever released. Undead Nightmare is a fun genre bending epilogue to the Red Dead story.

I played Bloodstone just after watching Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. The story fits well within the Daniel Craig Bond canon and feels like just another mission for 007.

A solid adaptation of both the novel and the film From Russia With Love. This game is long enough to feel like a full James Bond adventure but doesn't overstay it's welcome. The car/boat battle sections do drag but they are counterbalanced by the fantastic jetpack sections. Overall this is a fun farewell to Sean Connery's iconic role,

One of the best Playstation 2 games ever. Death comes for the Greek pantheon in the form of The Ghost of Sparta.

One of the best video games ever made. Shadow of the Colossus blurs the lines between game and art with one foot firmly in art.

This game has no right being as good as it is. For being a port of a PSP game to PS2 it runs surprisingly well. A fun if not slightly basic story that tells the rise and fall of the Vance brothers and leads directly into Grand Theft Auto Vic City.

Fits squarely next to its influences and truly lives up-to the Noire title.

Heart of darkness set in the dying west. If played chronologically after RD2 this is a beautiful ending to the Red Dead epic.

A visually stunning work of art. Ghost of Tsushima is game of the year material. The combat is simple at first and easy to learn but has surprising depth. The art direction, voice acting, storytelling and open world are top notch. At times Ghost of Tsushima reminded me of some of my favorite games growing up like Tenchu. Metal Gear Solid and Shadow of the Colossus. Unfortunately the stealth combat is standard. From the preview trailers the stealth seemed reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. However it's not quite there but that's not a game killer by any means. I look forward to seeing more of this fully realized world.

The relationship between Joel and Ellie makes this game worth it. Enemy AI and the stealth mechanics are clunky and feel dated. However, the gameplay is second to the storytelling and character development of Joel and Ellie.
