They are Billions is a masterpiece in the genre! It mixes the mechanics we fans all know from classics like Starcraft and C&C, with survival/hord mechanics we have seen in other genres. The result is one of the best RTS games i have played in decades (consoles or PC).

I'm surprised with how good The surge actually is! Well, i shouldn't be surprised though. I always forget that modern community is all about hate, so when i see a game getting user scores of 1/10 left and right, i always forget that's probably a good game that didn't meet the exact standards kids were waiting for. Anyway, while there are a ton of better games on current gen platforms, The Surge is actually good. The story is intriguing, the gameplay is hard but not frustrating, the maps are well designed with tons of secret paths, etc. Of course it's not a fame for anyone who doesn't like the 'souls' formula, but those who do will most likely have a great experience.

Astro Bot is special. When i see people saying stuff like 'modern games are not innovative', the first thing that comes to my mind is 'you have been playing the wrong games'. Thanks to indies and VR, we have had a level of experimentation in gaming we haven't seen in decades. Back to Astro Bot, this game is simply brilliant. I can only compare my experience with this game to how i felt when i first played Mario 64. It's so fun and unique, that i find myself playing whole levels with a smile in my face! VR does add most of the magic, but even without it, Astro Bot would be a good game. The visual direction is beautiful, the gameplay is simply perfect and adds tons of new unique ideas. The best part is that both, new and old mechanics, work equally well, and with a surprisingly high level of polish. They also implemented mechanics from older games, but they don't seem forced. The whole gameplay formula reminds of 3D Mario games (but with its own identity), and there are subtle 'easter eggs' everywhere...like the formation of the levels, reminiscent from Kid Chameleon. The soundtrack is also fantastic. Every single song is memorable. The only negative aspect i see is the lack of a harder mode. Once we finish the campaign, it would be cool to have the option to play a more challenging version of each level (no checkpoints, faster moving platforms, tougher enemies, etc.). I just hope this game sells as much as it deserves, because after Astro Bot, a sequel would be a day one to me.

What a masterpiece. Divinity 2 will not please everyone, but if you like deep RPGs, you will love it. The game doesn't hold your hand. You have to actually explore the environments and talk to people to find clues to complete your objectives (no pointers telling you everything you have to do), the dialogs offer an insane amount of options, the story and lore is fantastic so far, and the combat is just amazing. I could go further and say that Divinity 2 has the best turn based combat since Heroes of Might and Magic 3. Divinity: Original Sin 2 is easily one of the best RPGs i have ever played.

I have been following this game for a few years. From the setting, to the survival mechanics, RPG elements, the world design, etc. everything about Kingdom Come deliverance seems good to me. The game came out and i finally played it for a few hours. Simply amazing so far. The story and characters are much better than i expected and the world is simply beautiful. I could go further and say that's the most impressive open world i have ever experienced. There are simply no invisible walls, you can enter every house, building, door you see, and there are no loadings between in and out doors, city walls, etc. Navigation is 100% seamless, which is perfect for fans of exploration like me. I also love the realism. You have to eat, sleep, take care of your injuries, you don't have points of interest every 5 meters, markers or hud elements pointing everything around you. You just have to explore, learn, use your head, etc. No hand holding. Of course the game has its problems. Visual glitches, lack of optimization (at least on consoles), the lockpicking minigame can be a bit frustrating with a controller, you can't interact with some elements of the world, etc. But then again, this is an ambitious game made by a small team. Everyone expecting a flawless game should have their feet on the ground. Devs did a fantastic work, and of course will be support it for many, many years. Overall, it's a fantastic game. 9.5/10

I have bee gaming since 87, and have experienced almost everything this industry have to offer since then. Bought the PSVR + camera this black friday for 200 euros, and ma, this is insane. Probably the most game changing thing since the transition from 2D to 3D! That said, i think VR is still very limited. Sure, there have been prototypes since the 80s and now it's finally good enough and affordable, but it's obvious there's still a long way to go. The resolution is pretty bad, the field of view a bit limited, and as much as PSVR is the most confirtable peripheral in the market, it's still too big for us to be 100% immersed. Even though, like i said above, VR is insanely immersive! Back to the review, this is the Skyrim most of us already played (plus the DLCs). The difference is that, for the first time, we play inside that world. The sense of scale and presence is incredible, and seriously, it's impossible to describe via words, pics or videos. The controlls are also amazing, both with the controller and move. For obvious reasons, visually we are playing the 7th generation version of the game to guarantee 90fps, but then again, resolution aside (which is more a hardware limitation), Skyrim never felt this real and immersive! I'm new to VR, so i'm still a bit worried about VR consequences. I keep reading that people play Skyrim (and other VR games) for 10 hours straight. I try to play for 30 minutes to 1 hour and stop. I don't have much of motion sickness or nausea, but i do feel a bit tired after 1 hour playing any VR game. Again, i'm sure that the resolution doesn't help, so i expect future devices to feel much, much better (Pimax 8k VR anyone???). Anyway, Skyrim VR is a massive step in gaming in the right direction. It's not the best looking game available, but it's easily the biggest and most complex.

This is the Sonic game i heve been waiting for for over 20 years, and the proof that sometimes devs shouldn't mess with a winning formula. The gameplay is perfect, the visuals beautiful (love the mix between classic and new zones) and the sound brings fans many good memories. My only complain is the timer. Sure, it was always there, but the leves are so bigger that i would love to be able to explore ever corner and secret at my pace. Anyway, brilliant 2d platformer and easily the best Sonic game since Sonic & Knuckles 10/10.

I bought this game for my Master System 2 back then, and bought it now for PS4. This remaster is simply brilliant! The visuals are a work of art, the music is good, and i love the option to activate the classic visuals and sound. What surprises me the most is how modern the formula and design still feels! Despite being almost 30 years old, it feels as good as any modern indie 2d platformer. Simple, diverse, lots of secret areas, you have to grind in order to get the best items or beat some bosses, etc. My only complain is the hit detection, but then again, devs didn't change anything from the original except visuals and sound. All in all, Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap feels as good now as i remember, something not very common. Many games i used to play and love in 8 and 16bit eras didn't age this well. An easy 9/10.

I was very skeptical. Not only i was never a fan of Killzone, but also, from the vids, HZD looked too much like Ubisoft open world games (schemactic exploration, invisible walls, collectibles, bland story, characters and lore, etc). I could not be more wrong! The game is huge, the lore is deep, the story is fantastic, and has some of the most interesting combat i have experienced in a long time. Something i'm particulary loving is the scale and freedom. If you see a mountain, you will certainly find a way to reach the top, even if you are not supposed to be there. Games with this level of seamless freedom are rare. In most open world games you always find a reachable place closed by an invisible wall. It does have some flaws. You can not explore most interiors, vendors could have their own stores instead of just standing there, morerandom events in the world would be great, you rarely see NPCs traveling between villages, tallnecks and maps show too much information which, in my opinion, kills the unpredictability of exploration, money is too easy to find/collect, etc. Instead of just look for the typical loot boxes you can find here and there, it would be great to have the ability to unlock doors, steal objects, and if caught by a guard, suffer the consequences. Anyway, ffor a new IP and a game of this scale, HZD is simply incredible!

Despite the fact it failed to met some of its initial promisses (planet rotation, multiplayer features, etc), it's still a huge and ambition universe. The kind of experience i have been waiting for since i played Frontier Elite 2 on my Amiga 500, over 20 years ago. No other console game allows me to walk on an entire planet surface, enter my ship, travel through space in real time to another planet, enter its atmosphere, land, and jump out on foor again, all of this without a single loading. On the top of that, the game offers deep survival mechanics, inventory and resource management, and overal a huge amount of content. I liked the game when it came out (would give it a 7.5/10), but after update 1.1 i decided to start a new survival game. Survival is super chalenging and the contruction mechanics turn everything more personal. NMS has its flaws, but it's so ambitious in scale, not even AAA devs, with their infinite resources, dare to create something similar. 9/10 on its current state, and the good news is that it will be geting better over time due to free updates.

Never played the first Killing Floor, but i never say no to a good tactical coop experience. To be honest, i bought this game to ease my wait for Left 4 Dead 3. Unfortunatly, in many key aspects, KF2 is the opposite to that game. While good (certainly fantastic to everyone who know exactly what to expect), it lack L4D tention, atmosphere, slow paced exploration moments, and most important, its tactical yet simple gameplay. All in all, in particular when it comes to pacing, i would compare it to CoD zombie modes, which i'm not a fan of. Like i said, Killing Floor 2 is still a good game. The controls are responsive, the visuals great, the framerate is surprisingly stable (at least on PS4 Pro) and the amount of enemies and gore on screen provide many epic moments. If it had more maps, modes and the the ability to play singleplayer with bots, i would give KF2 a higher score. It's good, but not great.

Despite it's flaws, 7 Days to Die is a fantastic game and an unique experience! It does have many bugs, framerate drops, the menus are not as fast and intuitive as they should, and the graphics are pretty dated (the draw distance in particular is a joke). That said, i found myself playing it for dozens of hours during the first week (more time than i actualy have available) just because there is nothing like this on consoles. The concept is simply amazing and mostly well executed! Think about Minecraft with deep survival mechanics. You need to eat, drink, keep your temperature at 'normal' levels, avoid infections and deseases, etc, and for that there are thousands of objects you can collect in the world, for both, consuming and crafting. There are side missions, treasures to be found, etc, but at the end, you main objective is to find or create a shelter to spent the next night, and survive another day. I found myself caring about my character's health, being scared with the night fall and curious about the loot i could find in this or that building. Genuine feelings very few games are able to cast. The multiplayer is also very cool. You can play the entire game in split screen with a friend, which makes everything even more fun. The game is hard, even in easiest difficulties, but there are lots of settings to change in the game menu, from the agrecivity of zombies, to the duration of the in game day. All in all, it's not a game for everyone, but if you like deep survival games, exploring alot, and the ability to create and craft your own world, this is the game for you and one of a kind.

The graphics are amazing, the sound as good as we expect from a Star Wars game, it's fun, has an almost flawless framerate and DICE nailed the Star Wars atmosphere. On the other hand, the amount of content is ridiculously low, but this has to do with EA, who will sell the second half of the game for the full price...again, and not with DICE. + Excelent presentation. It looks and sounds fantastic! + Almost flawless 60fps. + DICE nailed Star Wars atmosphere. - 900p is not acceptable for current standards. - lacks content. Where are the space battles, all those iconic planets from the saga, the bots in multiplayer, the campaign, etc??? - I'm not a fan of this new item based way to get vehicles. It's alot more immersive to have the ability to enter an hangar and jump to a vehicle. DICE have been doing this for years in Battlefield games, so why the step back?! All in all, and while it's far from perfect, SW Battlefront is an excelent experience for all Star Wars fans.

I tried the PC version when it came out at a friend's house (my PC can't handle it), was in the PS4 beta, and finally played the final console version for a few hours hours. All i can say is that this is my kind of shooter! Sure it's not as polished as some 'AAA' shooter out there, but no game offers this level of freedom and scale. I'm also surprised with how well the console handles the big battles. I have experienced a few battles with a few hundred players, and the framerate always looked to be above the 30fps. Impressive, especially considering the beta struggled with 20 or 30 players on screen. + Massive scale and player count. + Great graphics and performance (for a game of this scale). + Nice gameplay and pacing (similar to Battlefield and the opposite to CoD, which is perfect to me). + Free to play but not pay to win. - The menus are still a bit slow and buggy (nothing compared to the beta, though). - It would be nice to see the actual number of players per continent before jumping in. - Instant action should take you to the area you are pointing at, instead of being random. All in all, i just hope that this game turns popular. I know it's not for everyone, but those who like large scale shooters, and give this game a second, third try, will love it for sure. I would give it 8/10 if i had to play for it. 10/10, since it's free and great, even for 'AAA' standards.

I have been gaming since mid 80s, and this is my 5th 10/10 game. It's not perfect, no game is, but it's above it's competition in basically everything. It wouldn't be fair to give it any less than the max score. I'm playing on hard (not the hardest) on PS4 version (about 30 hours in, so far), so these are my impressions: + scale (probably not the biggest game on the market, but i would say it's the most complex and dense) + visuals (easily the best looking open world game i have ever played) + seamless world (love the lack of loadings and the ability to see interiors and exteriors through windows and doors. + story, lore and characters (believable world with many mundane stories, brilliant pacing and intriguing characters) + no invisible walls (due to the open nature of the world, the ability to swim and the addiction of a jump button, you can basically explore any place) + unpredictability (as opposed to the schematic nature of Ubisoft games ['you picked 3 treasures out of 30', 'you climbed 1 tower out of 10', etc], in The witcher 3 everything seems random and natural. + exploration (again, due to it's unpredictability, exploration in TW3 couldn't have been more misterious and rewarding) + Sound (amazing OST, sound effects and voice acting) + content (insane amount of content) + gwent (for the first time in my life, i see myself investing hours on a game's minigame) - combat (while it's still good, it wasn't greatly improved compared to the previous game) - loading times (they are too long, gladly there are few of them) - Portuguese subtittles in Brazil but not in Portugal??? This is not acceptable...

Dragon Age Inquisition is a real RPG, a game full of memorable moments and hard decisions to make. The world is massive and looks amazing. You can easily be lost, in a good way. While it's an amazing game, there are some minor negative aspects. To give an example, some simple actions, like consulting the in game 'wiki' (codex), can be a pain in the a**. As a consequence, this amazing world full of stories and politic conspiracies, may sound more complex than it actually is, especially for new comers in the series. Pros: Incredibly deep game Massive world with lots of open areas (very few invisible walls) Great story, lore and characters Very good graphics and art direction Seamless transition between in and outdoors Addicting multiplayer Cons: Everything is too schematic ('you picked 1 out of 10 herbs' kind of linearity). Imprevisibility is what makes exploration in other RPGs, like Elder Scrolls, more addicting, The scan system in many recent games kills the immersion. At certain point, all you do is press constantly the scan button hoping for the items to pop up. Again, Bethesda games make you actually explore the environments without the need for unnatural tricks. Unnecessary complex codex (descriptions, and the related pics, should be more direct and explanatory) No day/night cycle.
