I played Destiny 1 for a solid 4 months and enjoyed the game even with all the flaws (laggy pvp, sluggish controls, excessive grinding). I safely put D1 at a 6. For D2, I waited a few months for the initial bugs to be identified and fixed and I must say that was a good choice. I just finished the story line after grinding each of the classes to 30 and all I can say is WOW!. The game is beautiful, responsive, and fast paced. Grinding didn't feel like grinding and the story line was excellent. Bungie has set the bar with this one. I see the low ratings and can't help but wonder if these folks have even played the game. Anyway, D2 is the most fun I have had in a long time.

This is a great example of taking a core set of game mechanics and breaking a mold that has become stale. Being able to play a cops/criminals themed game of this caliber has been refreshing. The graphics are the best I have seen in any of the modern FPS. The single player is brilliant and feels like you are in a movie. The multiplayer is what you expect from a company that has been at this for so long. The release was flawless without any of the issues seen in the previous 2 releases. The mechanics are solid, responsive, and lightning fast. Overall, this is the best Battlefield to date and I have played them all.

Absolutely brilliant. Having been a shooter fan since the first Doom and having played just about every FPS to date, including the F2P's I have to give Titanfall a huge double thumbs up. If you like the responsiveness of the controls in Call of Duty, and the strategic thinking of Battlefield you will find Titanfall perfectly in the middle. It is not a COD or BF clone; it is a refreshing new animal in the first person shooter genre. The only thing I can imagine that has created so many negative votes would be PS fanboys angry that they do not get to stand by for titanfall.

First, the time period is fantastic along with the story line. Absolutely brilliant. The mechanics of the game are so flawless that you forget you are holding a controller. I know there are a lot of complaints of "repetitive" game play but the minute nuances in combat are one of the strongest parts of the game. I would surmise that those who are complaining have yet to make any progress in the arena because all your button mashing will do you no good there. Overall, this game was a fantastic experience and one that I come back to often to try my luck in the arenas.

I was wary of getting this game having been totally disappointed with MW3. However, after playing it since release day, I can honestly say this is a very good game even compared to older games in the franchise. Let me say up front that I find the maps to be a little too chaotic and big for the size of the teams but that is where my negatives end. Overall, the mechanics of the game are what you expect from COD. The addition of clan wars and squads bring something for every type of player and skill base. Extinction is very well done and a refreshing change from zombies. Don't get me wrong, I loved zombies but the theme is getting kind of old. If not for the maps, I would have easily given this a 10.

Halo 3 was a decent game but there were some issues that kept me from being fully immersed in the game. The most important was the lack of customizable button layout. Having controls that are different from other popular games only makes sense if it adds to the user experience. In the case of Halo 3 going against long established norms, it did not make sense. If you are going to have controls that are particular to your game, at least have the decency to offer a custom option for those who do not see the brilliance in our scheme. If the controls hadn't been an issue, this game would rate higher.

Far from **** from horrible. It is a middle of the road shooter with all the tell-tale problems that are significantly more noticeable in FPS's. I also finished Halo 3 ODST on the Xbox and wasn't particularly impressed with that either.. Until now I haven't seen anything from the Halo universe that was particularly impressive. I haven't played the multiplayer yet so this review is on the campaign. The storyline was intriguing and well adapted. Actually one of the best single player storylines I have played in quite a few years. The controls were a bit awkward at first, straying from the typical FPS control scheme but after some play they are manageable. The graphics and dynamic environments were simply beautiful. Overall the game provided an epic story with great game mechanics. I don't know if this studio has produced other titles in the Halo world but they knocked this one out of the park.

It is a great concept, an ongoing war between 3 factions. It is like a futuristic ARMA without going overboard on the realism. If not for the lag I would rate the game much higher. Arctic Combat is a mixed bag. On one hand, the game is not horrible but there is a significant problem. One of the most fundamental aspects of a first person shooter is, well, the shooting. In Arctic Combat the lag from shooting will literally force you to lead your target by a significant amount, ie aiming completely ahead of the target at less than 20 yards to even hit them. I don't know if the makers have actually shot a gun before but that is beyond ridicules. The maps are okay, the gun selection is okay. The AI bots are the typical brainless bots that once your team sets up a choke point the game is over. They keep coming and you keep mowing them down. If you have a few moments to waste it will keep your attention for a few games. Nothing ground breaking as far as FPS games go.

Just because it is Star Wars the game starts with a score of 5 instead of zero. There is a lot to like about Star Wars: The Old Republic, and there is a lot that could have been done better. The Good: The graphics are good and mesh very well with the whole Star Wars universe. The sound effects are excellent also keeping in line with the Star Wars universe. The greatest strength of this title is the story line, which is both compelling and action packed. The story makes good use of decisions affecting your character build. The Bad: After more than a decade of MMO's that use the age old, and tired, grind fest for leveling, this game will leave you feeling less than original. The story line is good but not even a fresh coat of paint will cover up a bad base coat. The game play is typical of most MMO's of the last decade. Get quest, kill x number of bad things, return to quest giver for reward. Rinse, repeat. Overall, you can't beat the price (free) and if you are a Star Wars fan you will likely enjoy many parts of the game. Just not for very long.

After getting **** by IW with MW3 I was a bit apprehensive about giving Activision any more money. The only reason I took a chance on this game was because I truly enjoyed Black Ops, which if you remember also got a crap load of unwarranted negative reviews, but is in my opinion the best in the series to date. On to BO2. The graphics are updated slightly, the game mechanics are solid and responsive, and the new weapons, perk system, and unlock system are brilliant. I have no doubt that after the initial rush of negative reviews filter their way through, the reality that this is a really good game will surface and the scores will even out. The single player campaign was a good 6 to 7 hours long, which is at the bottom of what I consider acceptable, and a hell of a lot better than the 4 hour scripted junk that was MW3. Yes there are a few bugs as there are in any new release but Treyarch did a fantastic job of patching the original BO so I have no worries they will also handle the new issues. I am giving the game an 8 because there is room for improvement but not much.

For the first 10 or so levels it is very easy and at times, enjoyable to play. Beyond that, it becomes ever more difficult to find groups to adventure with. Ordinarily that wouldn't be an issue but the content gets exponentially more difficult so it is for all intents and purposes, required if you want to get to the end game content. The game overall isn't bad per se, but it is an absolute grind fest, even at lower levels. But the game mechanics appeal to a certain niche gamer. If you are expecting this to be similar to Neverwinter Nights or NWN 2, you will be disappointed. While the core leveling and skills are present from D&D, this is a pure hack and slash game.

There is some grinding to rank up to new tiers but isn't that what we do when we play anyway? Overall I give the game a 9 because there is still room for improvement. Great fun.

This is a tactical shooter that uses active cover as a primary mechanic of the game. That being said, if you are a COD run and gunner, this game is not for you. If you try to run and gun, you will find your untimely death quite fast. Now, if you enjoy a more cerebral side of combat where squad tactics, stealth, and cover and concealment are a key part of success, then this is your game. Each of the 3 classes are very well matched and have their own strengths and weaknesses. To put it bluntly, there isn't a single class that is dominant. As you read the negative reviews, if you see keywords like camping, then you know they expected to be able to run and gun and got handled. It is free, give it a try.
