This isn't a great game, it's not even a good game, but it is the closest thing we've got to a cops-and-robbers MMO - which is, I suspect, one of the all-time great video game concepts. One day, somebody's going to do it right, and they're going to become very rich indeed.

Although APB has a few good ideas, the execution just isn't fun enough. It presents itself as an online Grand Theft Auto, but in its core is nothing more than deathmatch in an open world. Shooting isn't balanced well, and the number of missions is so limited that it becomes a bore really fast.

The immediacy of the game with fast missions and compact worlds allows constant action, which grants immediate satisfaction. However, it takes more than flowered shirts and deadly shotguns to create a committed relationship with the player.

I could only bring myself to dive so deep into this title before dropping the gavel and calling it quits. Uninstalling. It's just too... poorly done. The weapons are unbalanced, new players are at an initial disadvantage. Quests are random, there's no flow or real story to the game. Online is bugged, dead, and dying. If you log in as a new player the first 3 hours of playing will have you wandering aimlessly as you get pitted against pros who are core players - hell bent on obliterating you and your noob teammates. I mean... really... it's a PvP combat driving game that has poor car handling, laughably rudimentary combat, and piss poor PvP for the massive world that it sets out to nurture. Take this as a "first impressions" review, because I don't intend to go back to see how much more I can pull from this title.

Still the best customization I've seen in a game. Nothing else comes close to the character customization in APB, no other games really include a "music creator" (which to be fair is just a fancy midi creator) and car customization is just fine too. The gameplay itself (missions) is alright, nothing really that groundbreaking in the modern market but the third person character controls are hands down the best for a 2010 game. 5/5 would play another 5000 hours of

GamersFirst (aka MoneyFirst) ran this amazing game into the ground. The new dev Little Orbit is doing the best they can to revive it. In 2 years they did more than G1 managed in 8. One can't help but keep coming back to this game - there is simply no other like it. The customisation is the best I've ever seen and the gameplay is addicting tho unfriendly for new players. Truly free 2 play without pay 2 win elements, anybody saying otherwise has probably played less than a week.

All Points Bulletin has improved drastically from its original launch but isn't necessarily the MMO Grand Theft Auto we've been looking for.

APB Reloaded comes with new locations, a better gameplay and a new free-to-play format that lets you play for hours without spending anything, though you have to buy something in order to be more competitive.

Some people on APB might be **** but it's fun to piss them off even more when you're winning. Despite the premium and purchasable weapons and stuff in the game it really doesn't seem like a pay-to-win game contrary to popular belief. I used to play it on my laptop at home and hated it but I played it at a gaming center on their computers and everything was awesome (graphics, internet with no lag, etc.).

A textbook example of wasted potential. Again! If someone woke me up in the middle of the night and asked about the differences between the original APB and Reloaded I'd mention only two things. 'Civilians' got some new animations and the game went free-to-play. It's not enough for a relaunch. [February 2012, p.54]

Reloaded has recreated APB, but reined in its ambition. Most of the same problems are here, but for a better price. [Mar 2012, p.70]

It's still not nearly enough to save what is a fundamentally bad shooter. The smartest thing GamersFirst did was make APB: Reloaded free-to-play, allowing players to find out for themselves without the upfront cost.

The original release of the game was an interesting (but not great) concept hobbled by atrocious execution, and it seems like the people who went in trying to rescue it have managed to make things worse in an overall sense. There was little to recommend the original game. There's even less to recommend it's second act.

I actually started playing this on my laptop about the time of release and it was pretty amazing to be honest. The issue I always had with it though, is that it's a pay to win game, which I absolutely despise, yet the whole cops and robbers style of "story" was pretty dope, they actually did a good job unlike other games *cough BF Hardline cough* I will give points from 0-10 for 10 categories, if I add em all up and they end in something like 43, it's gonna be a 4.5 and so on: Graphics: pretty good 8/10 Engine: kinda outdated, even for 2011 5/10 Gameplay: defintely great, though the outdated engine interferes a bit with this 8/10 Fun: definitely fun, would probably be better with friends 7/10 Character Creation (this is an important part of the game): no doubt one of the best ones I've seen 10/10 Customization (cars n clothing): same as above, amazing 10/10 Complexity (in a negative way): for me, it came across as if the game doesn't quite tell you what to do, I had issues all the time trying to figure out which mission unlock what and all 3/10 Controls: easy as every game is/should be 10/10 PvP (since it's based on that): as mentioned above, you mostly have no chance against people who bought their gear, I mean it's ok since they have paid for their content, but how much better their stuff is compared to basic/base game gear is f*cking ridiculous 3/10 Setting: typical big city, just like SR and GTA, so I'll give this a 5/10 End Result: 69 points that makes a score of 7/10.

A very trashy game with a trashy community probably made by trashy developers who understands that profit before gameplay is priority. The premium users will always be able to shoot and kill you first regardless of who shot first. There are several thousands users that do not speak English or understand English yet you provide servers for them and none join. The threat level is a joke, GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE. You will be mixed with users above higher skill levels / or max than you. Servers will disconnect you from time to time. I still can't believe that hackers exist in this day, this game is old. The majority of the weapons in-game is absolutely trash in comparison to others, why develop. why model weapons that no-one will use? - All facts.

Graphics, layout and good gameplay but the server is very fault, sometimes it takes more than 15 minutes to find a party. Although there are two factions on both servers the number of criminals is devastating. And PVP is unbalanced exponentially. The missions are repetitive. Anyway everything you do in the game, in addition to missions very very boring, is to destroy everything that crosses your path.
SummaryIn APB Reloaded you take on the role of a Criminal - hell-bent on causing havoc and making money, or an Enforcer - tapped by the city to keep order. The city never sleeps and the fight never ends in this fast paced Massively Multi-player, Action Shooter.
