It was fun at early stages of the game; the hack and slash combat system was great and intense. Then fun quickly diminished with countless platform puzzle solving. Granted, the puzzles weren't hard, but they paused the monster killing spree excitment. There are just too much boring puzzles for a hack and slash action game that I was hopping the game will end soon, so I can say I beat it and uninstall. And then the story send you back to places you already visited to collect seven shards for story to continue. I collected few shards until I got fed up with this boring-visit-again trick just to add more gameplay hour. My patience ran out and alt+F4 and uninstalled this crap game.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine10
Jan 1, 2013
Early couple of playing hours I was really annoyed and felt dizzy by the un/intentional camera slow motion, and game story was forgettable. And then intense hack-and-slash combat sparked the game and I mmediately started second play-through. My character was killed quite lot and even though I felt frustrated I kept going back to beat the game. For $7.46 this game is worth playing!

Portal 210

Very good puzzle game, and took me almost 9 hours to finish first run through. If you enjoyed puzzle in portal 1, you will like the longer version of portal 2. Get this when it goes on sale at $5.

Portal10

A puzzle game with about 2 to 3 hours of gameplay. I am not a puzzle gamer though I enjoyed it because the puzzle challenge was doable and short enough before I start going asdjf;alsdjf;las on my keyboard. So if you are looking for a game that is different to what you normally play, pick this up when it goes on sale.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood7
Dec 17, 2012
Brotherhood is worth playing. Missions have optional criteria to meet for increased difficulty. You are now vulnerable to be attacked during execution animation, and able to use heavy weapon are good points. Assassin recruit idea was exciting at first, but quickly become boring and repetitive to assign meaningless skill points. Game combat is already easy enough with counter-attack spamming, assassin recruit just make combat even dull. So I sent assassin recruit on contract to make money, which I already have excess of money. The economy is also a failure. I don't enjoy jumping puzzles but that's ok for other players. But the game is still plagued by annoying camera and controls.

Assassin's Creed II6
Dec 9, 2012
A much better and enjoyable game than Assassin's Creed I. Lots main and side mission to do and lots new weapon. The combat is still repetitive boring with counterattack animation and occasionally disarming enemy's weapon. Camera angle is annoying and the game economy is a major failure, and finally the game ending is ridiculous.

Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Colonization10

If you love the original Colonization like I am, you will love this updated version. It is instant buy when it goes on sale. More of the same original, and that's the best part.

Jagged Alliance: Back in Action8
Dec 1, 2012
I played a lot of JA2 back in its time, and I would say JA:BIA is worth playing and get it only when it is on sale. For players who haven't played JA2 will find fun in this game. For players who already played JA2 are better off not to compare the different gameplay mechanics. Simply adapt new feature and treat it like a new tactical game that uses JA2 story. I find it really okay that game developer used Jagged Alliance for naming otherwise I would have missed this tactical game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops4

I pre-ordered it and full of regret. The storytelling of this game used way too much flashes and random objects that made me dizzy repeatedly. Only get this game when it is on cheap sale and collection purpose, otherwise, avoid this game.

Atom Zombie Smasher8
Dec 1, 2012
This is a good small game that is worth playing for $5 value. The difficulty of this game is high and frustrated me quite a while until I figure out how to utilize my military units. One or two military units are overpowered while other units are underwhelming. The lack of proper military unit tutorial make this a trial-and-error learning, but that's okay because it is part of learning process. This game is good to waste time on but don't expect too much from it for its priced value.

FTL: Faster Than Light10

I read a lot of after-action story so I pre-ordered it. If you are a roguelike fan, this is the 10 out of 10 game for you. For others, you will find this game is about randomness and luck, yet shallow and repetitiveness. This is my first roguelike game and this game helped me firmly believe roguelike is not my cup of tea. If you are deciding whether you will enjoy roguelike, give this a try; it is cheaply price anyway. I gave it 10 out of 10 because this is a good experience that I will avoid roguelike games from now on.

Just Cause 23
Nov 30, 2012
The open-end aspect of this game is disappointing and meaningless. I spent hours trying to locate and destroy last piece of government property just so I can capture the settlement. I also hate the idea of running around collecting weapon and vehicle parts that are scattered the whole map. It is repetitive and boring. Weapon and vehicle parts upgrade could have been more meaningful if I get larger sum by attacking real-difficult-to-reach mountain and military bases. I have the grappling hook don't I? But no, more than half of the mission enemy or boss rarely put up with a challenge. Instead, I spend majority amount of hours trying to be like a dragon-ball collector looking at radar to pick up weapon/vehicle parts. If you are reading this by now, it is 2012. Skip this game and go for something else.

King's Bounty: The Legend10

Wow! While other turn-base games gets easier and easier on latter stages, this game requires strategy and planning for every fight. While fights can be repetitive, they are challenging and you could lose badly if you are careless.

Orcs Must Die!8

A fun tower defense mixed with FPS. It is a cakewalk on the normal difficulty, which will then unlock the nightmare difficulty. Action then get much interestedly fun and intense. The game has great music and occasionally funny catch phrases.

Torchlight7
Nov 30, 2012
A good mindless dungeon crawling action RPG that should have gotten more attentions from players at its **** story was easily forgettable; I enjoyed its leveling up and skills trees. I finished and enjoy the game with Alchemist the spellcaster, and Destroyer the warrior. Buy this game if you are looking some mindless clickfest entertainment, which is what I was looking for when I purchased this game.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution8
Nov 30, 2012
Having played all DOW1 and DOW2 plus DLCs in sequence, Retribution started to get old and downhill. All six race campaigns shared same main story and it gets boring and repetitive. I finished and enjoyed the Space Marine and Chaos Marine campaigns, but I will not be doing third play-through any time soon, let's say a year or two. I hope Relic Entertainment by now realized it was brilliant to add six races, but what good are they when I am reluctant to go through same map again on third and more play-throughs.

Left 4 Dead 29
Nov 30, 2012
A very good co-op zombie FPS. I didn't play Left for Dead 1 so when I played L4D2, I felt I no longer need to leave the house. All I need is some food to eat and play this game forever. Much teamwork is needed in harder difficulties, and I loved the fact that I cannot just shoot blindly and not caring about ammo. This make survival fun and exciting.

Fallout 310
Nov 30, 2012
I bought Fallout 3 and all DLCs at full price when they were released on DVDs. Being a fan of Fallout apocalyptic universe, I remembered I almost cried with excitement when I survived the initial wasteland trip and reached the very first city (Megaton). I loved the open-ended gameplay and rich storyline and side mission. This is one out of two games that I re-purchased on Steam for collection purpose.

Dungeon Defenders10
Nov 30, 2012
As a fan of tower defense, being able to play in action RPG view instead of bird's-eye view, for the first time I feel I am really contributing effort to the defense. I had most fun in the online co-op mode and enjoyed very much for some time. Sadly, the game then becomes repetitive grindfest and that's when the fun diminishes. Still, it is worth playing.

The most fun is finding interesting ways to kill your enemy with the energy leash. Not much brainpower is needed for this game, and I mean it in a good way. You play it simply because you want to kill everything you see. It is worth playing.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 35
Nov 30, 2012
I pre-ordered MW3 back then only because I wanted to know what was going to happen to Markov. I don't play multiplayer mode. The single player campaign has no innovation, and parts of the storyline and character are ridiculous. This is a disappointment to the franchise.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution10
Nov 30, 2012
Very rich storyline, great graphics and game play. Truly an outstanding successor to the original Deus Ex. One thing you may not like about this game is the overwhelming amount of mini-game that involves hacking into computer terminals: for door security, camera, storyline or whatnot. Although the game does not require you to do so, but you will want to do it anyway on your first play-through so you collect all the information. Still, this is a great game to play.

Assassin's Creed6
Nov 30, 2012
Good graphics and interesting storyline, although lack of subtitle feature can make the game confusing from time to time. Story progress linear and no re-playability value. The game mechanic is highly repetitive and I wanted to quit playing after two to three hours. However, I beat the game just so I can say 'been there, done that'. Skip this game and go for Assassin Creed II if you are thinking whether to get this game as of November 2012.
