Honor of Kings8
May 22, 2026
I migrated to this game as a then MLBB player, and i can't exaggerate for better HoK is. I have been a player of MLBB for over 5 years, i began playing the game as an elementary schooler, all the way to high school era. I am now a university student, and a while back i decided not to play mobile games often if even at all. I suppose the aggressive marketing campaign of Honor of Kings won me over. A newly (globally) released MOBA mobile game. It didn't take me long to hop on the hype. For context, i am a video game player anyway. Not very relevant for this review but i do play games on PC. Now going back to MLBB; my biggest criticism for the game is how dreadful it could feel. The in-match balancing, and progression systems are outright horrible to the point of driving me out of the game. Some matches could stall to 30+ minutes because MLBB has a "Hyper carry" system. A single player dictates the fate of a match, the jungler themselves of course. The Lord implementation is also very lacking in MLBB, just a giant thing that attacks the tower lane(s). I have had loads of fun playing MLBB, some of the playable characters are genuinely compelling MOBA figures... but the horrible out-weights the fun. Honor of Kings has way better progression system in the actual match. There are far more variants for the lords, meaning more opportunities to turn back the game, or completely overwhelm the enemy. The Lord system is legitimately 10 times better because eliminating them always assures a victory. The flow of any given match just feels more satisfying and rewarding. The matches don't go very long, meaning if you assured a victory in late game (10+ minutes) you're gonna win if you know what you're doing. The progression for the ranking system also i find to be more compelling. The game rewards individuals who are objectively high-skilled, going as far as having a grade system after every match up to SSS. I could 1) progress way faster if i continue playing perfectly, 2) save my own guts in a losing match because i received a decent grade. HoK feels like a legitimately great MOBA mobile title because it feels way more rewarding than MLBB. It recognizes your skill, and gives you your deserved flowers for it. 8/10 great video games.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 38
May 7, 2026
Act 1 of this game is honestly super generic. It doesn't do too much to distinguish itself from other CoD missions. I think that beginning part is where i feel the developers' skeleton crew the most, it's a super generic opening part for a military shooter even by Call of Duty standard. Once i get past that though? Act 2 & 3 of this game is really good. Act 2 in particular is a super consistent in quality. Act 3 really did make the story's completion feels super satisfying for the trilogy. From the assassination arc of Zakhaev, Sheperd's betrayal, to taking down Makarov's faction, this trilogy of Call of Duty games proudly established itself as a legitimately great FPS campaign experience.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 28
Mar 31, 2026
Well the title didn't lie to you. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is pretty much a bigger, badder, faster, and prettier game than CoD4MW. The mission designs are more consistent than OG MW, and the atmosphere is far better here as well. The visuals and the music does so much to establish the mood, and i quite enjoyed the experience. MW2's last mission is an improved version of MW's, the stealth missions are an improvement as well. Just a better quality game overall, and that's huge coming from the height of CoD4MW.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare8

I think this game is pretty cool. I didn't grow up playing Call of Duty games like most people here, but i could see how this game blew up in popularity. It's pretty much an interactive blockbuster film. This surprised me, but yeah the visuals have aged really well. A good art direction goes a long way. I enjoyed a lot of the missions, some of them are quite memorable even. I did have some that i dislike but the good missions shroud the bad ones. The Chernobyl Arc in Act 2 is ofc a standout. The Prologue Mission on the ship is legit a perfect introductory level in my opinion. Act 1 is super good as a complete package, and i can't overstate how stressed i was experiencing the Nuclear bomb part for the first time.

DOOM 649
Mar 6, 2026
Early review: This game is arguably the best Classic Doom title for 3 main reasons. 1) The pacing is far better. The level design flows much better compared to Doom 1 & 2. D1 was a lot on labyrinthine levels, and D2 was gimmicks one after another, including arena shooter levels. D64 integrates both of these philosophies into every level, what began as a maze-like environment will transition to a large arena for horde-slaying. 2) the weapon balancing is smartly designed. The ammos for the larger weapons are scarce, and the game throws a lot of bullet sponges at the player. Meaning if you're low on Cells, and Rockets, you'll spend so much time with the super shotgun and Chain gun. Which is great because i LOVE those 2 weapons. 3) Dark Fantasy Doom is subjectively the best Doom will ever be. The Dark ambiance music, the nightmarish environments, and grotesque monster designs, all makes D64 a genuinely compelling version of Doom.

Basically everything the developers promised the expansion DLC would be and a little. More dungeons, more weapons, more cosmetics, more lore, more base building mechanics etc.
The seasonal system in particular is very interesting. It adds a lot of depth to the gameplay. That's not to mention how visually amazing the expansion contents look. Also, R.I.P River boy. I love the soundtrack he's done for the game.

In terms of being a package; this product gives you a remastered version of Doom 1+2 by nigh dive studios, as well as official expansions for the game from way back in the 90s and some are from recent years. It's objectively a good purchase if you're interested in the series.

[Early review]
I defeated Chronos for the first time! It took me like 20 hours to truly feel and grasp the game's combat mechanics, that is including my time to understand chronos' attack patterns. This game is simply **** presentation is otherworldy! The art style, animation, voice acting, soundtrack/sound design in general—this game grabs you into it's world and doesn't let go until you kill the Titan of **** course, in a Rogue-like dungeon-crawling game such as this one, the combat mechanics is what matters the most. This game's mechanics is incredibly deep. It has it's own sauces and quirks—it stands perfectly fine on it's own and when compared to the first game.Incredible game so far. Easy reccomendation to any fan of Hades 1, or any action Rogue-like enjoyer for that matter. You'll get your money's worth with this game. Hell, with this quality? you might feel like you're robbing the developers by not paying more—such is the experience of playing high quality Indie games. [Post-game review]I fully finished the story campaign after 40+ hours! This game is wonderful—My perfect image of an action Rogue-like experience. Alongside Hades 1 itself as well as something like Dead Cells.I got no new inputs about the game honestly. The story is pretty good early and halfway through. I'm inclined to follow one of those people who aren't into the ending. The game's ending isn't bad of course, just badly executed.I actually don't care about the story. I know it's a weird thing to say about a Hades game—since it's one of the few reasons why Hades 1 was so beloved. But a story isn't what i look for in a game. What i look for in a game is; presentation like visual style, sound design, character designs, as well as the gameplay mechanics in general. Hades 2 delivers all of that with grace. And i for one, couldn't be more grateful.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun9
Sep 18, 2025
Absurdly close to perfection. The core of this game's experience is amazing and i won't deny that. Playing as a space marine ripping and tearing through heretics and xeno scums is objectively a perfect representation for WarHammer 40K. The art style sells you on the grimdark future effectively immediately you start your playthrough. The soundtrack was also so damn good--it elevates the action sequences big time. This game feels GOOD to play, i wanna emphasis on that. However, i have some issues about this **** external factors for the gameplay is... frustating. I won't call it terrible--i won't even call it bad. It's just kinda okay. The game doesn't present you with too many clues where the danger is. A lot of the times, the enemies blends so perfectly with the environment--i don't even know what i was looking at. The sound design is also bad, like outright bad. This game sounds cool! it sounds good! but there were little to no sound clues when an enemy shoots something at you--or when an enemy appears in general. The level design was also uninteresting. Sometimes the game throws you into a large open space with tons of enemies with little thought behind it. The closed, tiny levels where the game adopts a slower pacing was actually more fun. Also, the enemies could shoot you from across the map. The enemies' line of sight and range is just ridiculously cheap. On top of the fact that the game doesn't present you with major clues as to where the danger is... It's frustating. It's not challenging in a fun way like other boomer shooter titles are. That core rip and tear boomer shooter experience is there! the game is undoubtedly fun to play through! Like i said earlier; absurdly close to perfection. Warhammer 40K Boltgun delivers the promise of 'Warhammer Doom clone'. If that premise sounds interesting to you, it's an easy reccomendation. However, some flaws holds it back from being truly incredible.

Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania10
Sep 8, 2025
After playing through Dead Cells' Castlevania DLC for a little over an hour... Goodness me. This game deserves all the hype, all the love, and all the praises. The return to castlevania DLC is basically a side-story for the game, and i love it for that. The core experience is mostly de-attached from the dead cells base campaign. Exploring through the world of castlevania? with dead cells' presentation? a new rendition of classic castlevania soundtracks? Incredible. Just incredible. 10/10

After a little over 3 hours on DUSK, with having finished the first episode; I could confirm this game is incredible. The presentation is on point! The sound design, the soundtrack, the colour grading and general art style sells you the game's rural horror lovecraftian-ish **** combat design too are amazing. It took everything that made Quake worked and made it it's own thing! From the non-linear level design as well as the enemy boss fight **** easy 10/10 from me. An amazing addition to my gaming library, and a must-play for any fan of Boomer shooters.

Oh. My. God.Quake... You're everything people say about you. The game's presentation is so good it's legit overwhelming. The art style, the colour design language, the sound design, the animation, all makes for an incredibly creepy video game. That is on top of the lightning fast FPS combat gameplay that keeps you on the edge of your seat at all time. Not a single second passed when i feel safe while playing this game. The level design and the enemy placement--just about everything about the fighting sequences makes me think the developers wants me dead.Genuinely my favourite shooter game of all time. This is coming from a guy who played Doom 1993, Ultrakill, and Amid Evil if that says anything. Boomer shooters are awesome. Easy 10/10 for ID software's magnum opus of their classic era.

Balatro9
Aug 31, 2025
After 4 hours of playing Balatro, i think I've shaped up a reasonable opinion;Yes, i could see why this game took the world by storm. It's incredibly intuitive in user interface design and combat mechanics. The soundtrack is cool, the visuals are okay, and the gameplay in general is addicting. But for me, that's when it ends.I absolutely have a certain bias against this game and I'll admit that. When i see reviews on Steam and Metacritic, i feel like people are praising this game just for the sake of it. They're mentioning these, very VERY basic structures and spices for any Rogue-like game entry. "No two Balatro match is truly the same", "The game's deep mechanics deserves so much love", as if those two things aren't always THE standard of a rogue-like game???Maybe my bias is; I'm a very seasoned Rogue-like player. Hades, Inscryption, Slay the Spire, Risk of Rain 2, Dead Cells etc. all of these games shaped up my expectation of a rogue-like entry. While I'm not taking away the fun that people are having with Balatro (I'm absolutely having fun with the game too!), i feel like these things that people give Balatro so much credit for, aren't anything but the genre's standard for me.This game is amazing, i won't deny that. It's a great value for anyone into the rogue-like genre, but i feel like the praises this game gets are a little overblown. Compared to Slay the Spire, and Inscryption, this game stands tall as a deck builer rogue-like with a fun & charming poker game aesthetic. Presentation-wise, Balatro isn't the most interesting thing out there, not even in my gaming library. However, an amazing game is an amazing game. I won't try to deny that. 9/10.

Aug 31, 2025
Alright, i usually play a game for 5 hours before giving it a review, but i ain't doing that for this game. Blasphemous is absurdly difficult. I currently have 3 hours into the game, and at least that last 1 hour, i made zero meaningful progress into the game. But that's fine, here's my thoughts on the game so far:This is the creepiest game i've ever seen in my whole **** life. The art style is extremely disgusting, and i meant that as a compliment. The presentation is incredible, both on visuals as well as audio. The soundtrack is haunting, the pixelated gritty art style is disturbing--dawg i wanted to throw up the whole damn time. It's a very faithful souls-like game, in the sense that it has an unforgivingly brutal difficulty.I shouldn't be dropping a rating after such a short amount of time. Still, this game looks to be an easy 10/10. I might change my opinion though, so don't take that number at face ****! is this game worth the purchase? If anything i just described sounds compelling to you, you're welcome to do so.

I played AMID EVIl just now! i got 3 hours of playtime currently. I'm absolutely loving the game! the visual presentation is on point! the Fantasy art style on top of the retro graphics just comes down together and packs a great gaming experience. I'm not in love with the sountrack but i did enjoy all of them. Some of them were more memorable than the other, but all did a good job at setting the stage for the game's atmosphere. This game is great because it's basically just Doom 1993 with a fantasy visual presentation. I love it! The level design was really clever. Confusing but not in a bad way! everything just comes down together in an interconnected level design, with dozens of enemies waiting to slaughter you.

Rogue Legacy 28
Aug 19, 2025
While i don't think I'm madly in love with this game, i do like it quite a lot. The presentation is good despite not being too interesting. The soundtrack is charming i guess, but none of them are anything to write home about. This game's strongest quirk is the mechanics. It's basically a 2D platformer game with metroidvania and rogue-like sauces. Also, in the start of each run, the game gives you an option to pick between 3 characters. These characters have their own class, abilities and quirks. Guess what? You don't control what you get. You only get to choose between whatever options you're presented ****'s not like Dead Cells where you could buy and sell weapons when given the option. It's not like Hades 1 & 2 where you get to put together your own build, combining weapons, boons, and other abilities and you stick with them for the rest of the game. In Rogue Legacy 2, your choices are basically locked in whatever the game's RNG is feeling like. This game does have permanent progression in the forms of upgrading your characters' health, armours, unlocking new characters etc. But the very core of the game's mechanics is still randomly generated. You're not fully in control of your runs. This game is heavily reliant on RNG, which in itself isn't a bad thing. However, it does kinda ruin my lust to 'master' the game's mechanics. Simply because I'm not in control of everything available. Rogue Legacy 2's premise is very arcade-like. Which makes the game perfect for pick-up-and-play whenever you want. Rogue Legacy 2 is a good experience still, and i won't deny that. It's just a very different type of Rogue-like compared to what I'm used to. Of course, that doesn't make this game bad or anything. It's more of an arcade 2D Platformer with Metroidvania and Rogue-like aspects. 8/10

It took a little while for the game to click on me, maybe it's because the game's more slow paced than anything i've played before, and that's perfectly fine. The animation, the soundtrack, the art style, the combat system that incorperates both metroidvania and souls-like mechanics, all makes for an amazing gaming experience. I could tell why this game is so well-loved by many and even became their absolute favourites. After 6 hours of playtime, i could also vouch that this game is a masterpiece.

I... finished Slay the Spire? At least, i beat the game once in a run with one of the playable characters. It was only 4 hours long (including my previous attempts), and honestly? despite being such a short experience, i liked it a lot! it was a quality game! The combat system is by far the main player in this game's package. The diversity of cards, the amount of abilities you could stack up, this game's mechanics has so much depth (i don't think i've seen everything the game offers). That is on top of the amazing soundtrack and pretty art direction. Very easy 10/10 for me, absolutely flawless experience. I'd definitely blow multiple hours into this game in the future!

C'mon now don't be ridiculous. It's Doom goddamnit! what's not to get? One of the most influential video game like of all time. Speaking as a person who has 30 hours on ultrakill, getting into Doom is like a special experience for me, so i'll get into that instead. Classic Doom is just a charming thing to get into. It's awesome cause after diving into recent shooter games, i get the chance to play John FPS itself. What's interesting is that this genre is so diverse that even Doom still feels unique. Which is why any game that follows ID software's classic FPS series footsteps closely got it's own name--Boomer Shooters! I can't express my admiration towards this sub-genre enough. Fast paced, chaotic, headache-causing gameplay loops & rather power fantasy feel to it. It's the stupid stuff that'll make you say "Hell yeah", but it's a cool action experience over anything else. Idk if this makes sense, but Boomer Shooters are one of those genre that's like "John video games". Too influential, too iconic, and too recognizable. Just play this **** game man you won't regret it.

Cult of the Lamb9
Jul 19, 2025
This game's presentation is by far the spotlight here. The soundtrack is such a nice contrast to the rather violent visual effects this game has, that itself was already contrasted with the cartoonish/comicbook-ish art style. This combination creates an insanely well made package that sticks in my mind even compared to other games with the best of the best visual presentation. The Rogue-like mechanics was implemented effectively here. With the inclusion of different weapons each run, different Tarot cards, and recently relics that i achieved. It's pretty much RNG-based mechanics like other Rogue-like games. The combat system feels nice as well, the rolling mechanics really forces the player to be patient and make a good position before making any move recklessly. Another aspect of CotL is the Base building mechanics. Basically a simulator for a Cultist society. It's really fun! your death in the battle runs has consequences in the cult camp, it makes for a good balancing system for all the fighting sequences. It breaks the pacing nicely as well. Instead of one aspect of the mechanics over-taking the spotlight, these two sides of the same coin creates a shinny golden piece of currency. And you'd wanna keep these two sides in the back of your head to optimally playing through the title.

I just spent 40 minutes on Buckshot roulette and i beat it! It's an amazing experience! such a cheap video game that doesn't take an hour to finish? This is exactly why Indie games will always be relevant. Small experiences like this have a value in the industry. Not every single video game has to be an ultra-action packed, expensive, high-end demanding system for it to be a fun experience. The rogue-lite mechanics was implemented in a very fun way. The visuals immediately immersed me into the experience. I just couldn't stop playing until i defeat the dealer. I could see where the Inscryption inspiration came from! the graphical style was definitely influenced by it. The gritty, horror-ish art style was a delight to look at.

Inscryption10
Jul 5, 2025
Act 1 :I loved the experience. Like i'm usually not into card games at all but this game's presentation and art style in general absorbed into the game almost immediately. It's dark as **** but not in a way that you couldn't see anything, you see just enough for you to put things together and try to figure out the puzzle pieces in the game. The game has this sort of gritty feel to it. I don't wanna say edgy cause it's definitely not that, but it's atmosphere is creepy and unsettling enough to make me wanna piss myself(Positive sentiment). Act 2 :This part of the game is probably the most controversial one. It changes the presentation drastically. Even though yes the core gameplay is still the same turn based deck building card mechanics, the visuals take a huge turn here. From a heavily stylized 3D gritty horror-ish art direction, it turns itself to a pixelated 2D perspective. It was a necessary decision to build a visual direction that could explain the lore and lay out the general gameplay effectively. While i do think this visual presentation breaks the previous act's immersion and atmosphere, it was inevitable for this game to present itself in the more usual card game aethethic. BEFORE it brings you back to it's previous gritty/horror-ish atmosphere in the third act. I'm getting way ahead of myself here. But with that knowledge in mind, act 2's visual direction actually worked pretty well for a change of pace in contrast to the game's often gritty visual style. Act 3 & overral thoughts :Absolutely my favourite part in the whole game. The visual presentation is incredibly good, the soundtrack elevates the experience, and stack it up with a genuinely well-made deck-building card game mechanics. Another thing that made this game popular is it's lore, overral story, and the Meta usage of how a video game works. They legit access some of your steam file for **** and giggles lmao i love this game. The story, the lore, and the creepy atmosphere immediately caught my attention and immersed me into the game entirely. I love it. This game is amazing. I could see myself playing this game over and over again just for the sake of it. The replayability of the title due to the rogue-lite mechanics is a huge part of my appreciations towards this game as well.

Risk of Rain 210
Jul 5, 2025
I blew 10 hours into Risk of Rain 2. I couldn't get past through Mithrix **** this playthrough made me appreciate this game a whole lot more. I was never too impressed with the game's presentation. I think i just needed more time to get comfortable with the game's general direction. It's not the most visually interesting game I've played, but at least the character design, enemy designs, level design, and colour grading all comes together to deliver a solid package of a visual style. I want to emphasis on the enemy designs here. Their designs are what sold me to the game's visual direction. The larger creatures has a certain aesthetic to them that compliments the background setting a lot. I was also mixed on the music for a good while. I don't dislike them or anything, but i think i got very overwhelmed by the game's stimuli. The default settings for this game's audio was really loud and it made me uncomfortable. It's not until i turned down the volume until i could appreciate the game's audio design. The soundtrack elevates the hectic and chaotic battle sequences at least 10 times. Of course, this is only possible if the sound effects were good in the first place, and they are! the sound designs has so much weight to it. It really sells you the scale of the larger enemies in the game. Sound clues are also very effective here. A lot of sounds are exclusive to a certain type of threat. So a headphone/earphone is recommended to get the full experience. This game's mechanics is the spotlight here. Risk of Rain 2 is a 3D Third person shooter game, and it uses that concept until the point of exhaustion. It's a philosophy that's very integral for any type of Art. You thought of a concept? use it over and over again until you couldn't think of anything more. Some of the most memorable enemies for me are the airborn ones! That's a serious feat in my opinion. And some of the on-ground enemies could jump/float! just to mess with your sense of vision. This game's battle sequences are extremely hectic and chaotic. This experience is probably what made me uncomfortable about the game for a good while. So many things could happen in a blink of an eye! the stimuli is insane. Another thing about RoR 2's mechanics I've seen being brought up by the community is the Rogue-like implementation. Other Rogue-like video games won't allow you to have too many abilities in a single run, just because they don't want you to be too powerful. Like Hades, Inscryption, and Buckshot Roulette, just to name a few. Risk of Rain 2 is perfectly fine with you stacking up so many insane power ups on top of the external helps (Drones, Turrets, Guardians etc.). RoR 2 allows the player to feel like an absolute monster. How did the game balance this mechanic? The final boss could steal your items and abilities. You get them back by dealing damage at the bastard. Insane video game. The game's battle system oozes so much polish and care behind it. I couldn't help but feel inclined to boot up RoR 2 day after day just to experience it again. Risk of Rain 2 is a very fresh experience in the Rogue-like space. Not necessarily the absolute king of the genre, but a unique exprience nonetheless. This recent playthrough made me see Risk of Rain 2 in a whole new light. A very complex and nuanced 10/10.I'll keep playing this game over and over again until i defeat that bastard Mithrix...

On top of the fact that the developers have added a lot of content updates ever since the last time i booted up this game. It's actually kinda funny how many screenshots i took from this game. It looks absolutely gorgeous. Sky is a visual delight ****. The art design and colour grading carries the experience big time. This fictional world that i dove into looks amazing. The cultural arts and architecture was heavily influenced by Asian communities and it did a phenomenal job representing the community as well as creating a compelling fictional world on top of that. Genuinely one of my all time favourite experiences both in the rogue-like gaming space and in the game industry in general. The game's presentation was otherwordly good. The soundtrack is immediately memorable and the visuals were a delight to look at. The gameplay was an absolute joy to experience. The Rogue-like mechanics on top of the Hack and slash battle system was incredibly satisfying. I've beat the game 10 times already, and have finished the main story campaign. Apparently though, there's a lot you could do, I.E a bunch of post-game content. But i already blew 37 hours into the the game, I understand how quality this title is.
