In my opinion the best Milestone game yet. Nice graphics, good physics, pretty big content - wise. Weakest I`d say are the sounds but they`re bearable. Unfortunately the game has technical problems that make it unplayable for some PC users, and without the dev support it doesn`t look any of them are going to get fixed. What use is a great game if one third of its PC install base can`t play it because of the bugs? For me it works ok but the lack of post release support brings down the score to 7.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad

This review would look very different if I wrote it a year ago. The game came was released in barebones status but a lot of work was put into it since then. You can even say that it received multiple upgrades, all free. There have been some mistakes however, though most of them were changed or are oficially announced to be changed. Still, it is immediately recognizable that people who made this game are experienced combat flight sim creators. Now I want to make it as short as possible so I`ll just say that the single best thing in the game is the aircraft and the feeling of flight. In those terms Battle of Stalingrad is a true successor to IL2 Sturmovik. When you fly`em you really get the ‘nextgen’ impression, even if the game is still in Dx9 (soon to be Dx11). **** look great, especially bomber interiors deserve a commendation. I very much like the flight model. Each and every flyable aircraft flies different, for example you easily can tell the 109F4 and 109G2 apart. There are some design flaws but nothing your average sim pilot could get crazy about. I also very much like the concept of custom loadouts, meaning that every plane has some field mods available (different windshield, added outer wing cannons, different types of gun in the propeller hub etc.). Damage model is standard stuff I suppose, nothing really new here. Though be sure that even the smallest caliber rounds can break a plane if struck the sweet spot. It is entirely possible to blow off a part of a wing, disable weaponry or wound (kill) one of the crew members. Engine management is not exactly state of the art. Again, I would describe it as a standard in such games. Change prop pitch/RPM, manage throttle and supercharger. What is questionable is that all engines have the same 1 minute overrev limitation whereas in real life some planes obviously had more or less durable engines and could go well above factory specs (the P40 for instance). The weakest part of the title is the multiplayer. There is no coop mode available to date, mostly you just have to fly in a open map on a free hunt. It is possible to setup organized missions though it is faaaaaar too much hassle to do and needs serious streamlining. Still a work in progress though. The graphics and sounds are good, at times very good. It has to be noted that it was a conscious development decision in order to make the game friendly for low spec PCs. Also the dev team has finally removed options that had to be unlocked through grinding and that is a big plus. 8/10 from me. Pros : - engaging and challenging flight model - damage model - engine management - graphics - sounds - detailed maps - user interface - compatibility and low spec accessibility Cons : - lackluster multiplayer - limited and repetitive single player - bad AI - Dx9 and other game engine limitations - some minor flight model quirks.

BioShock Infinite: Clash in the Clouds

Pretty good DLC. Short but good. Worth only when bought with Season Pass. I got a good 5 hours out of it but I didn`t care about the **** anyone interested in it I`d recommend doing Clash in the Clouds before the main game playthrough. Here the player gets aquainted with combat a lot quicker yet it is still gradual. You get 5 different maps, each with 15 waves of various enemies. You collect money plus special blue ribbons for meeting requirements ex. kill one wave using shotgun only. There is no difficulty setting, so it is quite hard, especially at first when all you have is standard health/shield/vigor/equipment. The maps are great for combat arenas, so you can use multiple combat styles. Eventually when you beat all the levels you get to compete on the leaderboards - not my cup of tea though. There`s a room where you can unlock some songs, some pics and development stage concept art - quite interesting but there`s only few of them. That is all there is.Since this is a separate DLC, a higher score cannot be justified.

BioShock Infinite

Soooooooo refreshing! With Bioshock Infinite I got everything I expected and more. I have played all earlier Bioshock titles and as much as they did not impress me, I think this particular game is extraordinary. It provides the old Bioshock formula with adding its own spin on everything else. Nowadays it is very hard to surprise me with a game and Bioshock Infinite made me realise again that there is always a way to be innovative and creative. It just takes the right people to pull the strings. I experienced no bugs and no irritation whatsoever, just pure joy of playing. As such, this game deserves to be cherished by the gamers. In my opinion already has a legendary status, that is 10/10 exemplary in terms of how to make a singleplayer pc game. In my opinion it is the 2nd fpp game to reach a note of 10 since Far Cry 3. Story It pulled me in like few games did. Only because of real life tribulations I had to leave the Bioshock Infinite world that is one of a kind. A wonderful fruit **** mind. I basicly stopped caring about all other stuff I had installed on my HDD at that time. Ending is pretty weak but can`t ruin the overall strong 18 hours of playthrough. At first the story is a little slow, then after 30 minutes it picks up. The action is well paced, the breaks between it are great. There is a nice twist, even just about I though it was to close, something happens and the gamer has to deal with different circumstances. I found Booker DeWitt to be very well portrayed, even though the player doesn`t see his protagonist. He speaks often in cutscenes, he is clever. Every sensation, every feeling of DeWitt is passed through to the player which leaves an excellent impression. The gamer becomes De Witt as soon as he enters the game world and stays him until the very end. Althrough DeWitt is very good, he is not the main character. The main character is Elizabeth. She is perfect. Since Half Life 2 I have never seen a sidekick as good as this. She`s been made perfectly both as story pillar and as gameplay support. Elizabeth is everything a real woman is. She is smart, naive, sensitive, loving and charming. She loves to dance, cries, laughs. She enriches the story tenfold and is never annoying. Her unstable relationship with DeWitt is believable and fun like a good lovestory. You see her going about and by the 2nd scene you literally start to think she`s a living woman inside the game. You can get iritated, you can fall in love with her or feel like her father only because she is so believable. At the same time she is a great teammate. She does not need any nursing. In fact, she nurses DeWitt from time to time, handling him ammo, money, salts or health. Every moment along the way you both go, she shows her fears so you pick up on it and feel similar. Dialogues between the two leave nothing to be desired. Graphics Upgraded Bioshock 1 engine. Looks excellent even in 2015 and plays well on old hardware. There are some low quality textures here and there but not very often, you`d have to really look for it. Every other texture is great. Also the environment is not destructible. However besides that there is this overwhelming attention to detail. Rooms look excellent, open areas look great. Shadows and lightning work is spot on. The color pallette is little cartoonish so to say, but you get used to it pretty quickly. Model textures look very good, even singular stitches or patches on clothes. Any model is acceptable whereas Elizabeth looks like creating her took away most of the resources. Her clothes and hair have their own simple physics, she has a whole set of facial animations. By looking at her model a human mind instinctively reads all the emotions that she is supposed to feel, nothing looks wrong here. Guns show reflections and are well detailed. Every gun has its own animation. Explosions and all other effects are of exemplary quality. Interface/Gameplay Takes some time to get used to. Fairly easy, not complicated, using as few buttons as possible. Suitable for mouse & keyboard playing. Responsive and smooth. There are all guntypes I would imagine mandatory for a fpp game. At first standard stuff that changes in time you progress. As in other Bioshocks, you can do guns only or vigors only or mix it up if you want. The game introduces you to every type and in time you are able to use the equipment effectively. Music/Voices Could not have been done better. Plays along with everything that is shown to the player. Causes to reflect upon the story, enriches the world and characters. Voicework is top notch.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Yeah maybe the game is huge but what **** much. Boring, really. One can play through a game like Oblivion only so many times. Skyrim is very similar, only the story is even worse. As a gamer I expect the devs to treat me with respect that dictates them trying a bit harder than just adjusting and changing 10% of the recent game and release it as new title. I expect new story, I expect to be immersed, I expect great, interesting quests and characters. Nothing besides the music is above average in Skyrim plus I had to deal with the horrid console interface. What a joke. You can mod this game to hell and back and then it gains some color but vanilla Skyrim is a pale experience. Rating it based on mods would be giving credit to Bethesda instead where it is really due - the mod community. I feel that Skyrim brought me mediocre entertainment and in that term it is no better than Risen 2, yet it presents slighly higher production values, for example music and larger world. Story I hoped it would be something different, a lot better than Oblivion but I was dissapointed. The same jailed cutscene I can understand, that is TES franchise trademark so to say. But everything other besides that featured in the game. The Dovakhiin hero role playing is a lot worse than any TES earlier games. I literally had to force myself to sit through this and I consider the time lost forever. Graphics/Gameplay Dated on premiere day. Same console bull_____. Bad user interface ensures a pc player has trouble with smooth, fast action gameplay. The inventory is all over the place. Really a pain. Gaining skills and abilities has been changed for far far worse than in TES : Oblivion. It makes developing the character a chore and a needless, uninteresting grindfest. Few quests are good, hundreds do not deserve to take any self-respecting gamers` time. Actor models are horrific, bland robots. They did nothing to even help me submerge in the game`s world. They act in an incredibly scripted way, they are pathetic in showing any emotions at all, even the actor conversations are terrible. Maps/locations are huge and pretty, I give it that. But I haven`t come into anything remotely different than with any other rpg title. The same caves, same jail buildings, same castles, same tunnels I went through countless times before. The only thing that caught my attention are the open grounds like say waterfalls and some awesome sightseeing spots in the mountains. In the above locations are the same enemy types, all uncreative. I never came to meet an enemy I wouldn`t be able to characterise (strenght/health/magic etc.) at the plain first sight. Same ole spiders/zombies/thieves/monks/trolls/lions etc. What a waste of development time. Music Beautiful music, easily the strongest feature of Skyrim. Goes well with all character scenes. I caught myself exploring only due to the orchestra of different quite epic tunes.

Go ahead and rent it. A weekend walkthrough. There is nothing new about it. The game feels an like indie title. Restricted budgetwise in many areas. Not too boring but one playthrough is enough already. One more game under my belt, neeeeext. 69/100 from me. GAMEPLAY First player perspective with few different guns going through tunnels that are to look like open areas. No interactive surfaces, very simple movement. Enter map, crouch behind a house, point and shoot. Only one route and only one way of dealing with your enemies. Loads of scripted scenes with hundreds of mindless AI. I wouldn`t have a problem with it if it wasn`t for the silly sequences where the player ends up surrounded by swarms of enemies spawning repeatedly. You shoot them, a boss appears, you shoot him aaaaaand cutscene. And the whole playthrough goes like this. Very little variety. Great part is the duel feature. You use wsad and mouse to ready your hand and you reach it with mouse button and shoot. Fairly simple and cool to use. Every duel is a little different as the player faces historical characters throughout. Overall makes for a good break material in between the usual go there and shoot stuff. The thing is that after a play like that you would want something more, but no. You shoot the guy one on one, then the usual fpp stuff continues to the end. The guns look and feel good. Shooting is ok, the hands working look ok. There are some special ‘golden’ guns but besides some special features like +50% reload speed or damage there is nothing more to them. You pick`em, because you`re tired of seeing shot enemies get up again and again. Player special skills that you unlock are not interesting at all. Reload wile running, longer focus time, better zoom etc. They`re ok but don`t change the gameplay enough to keep it interesting after the first positive impression that lasts about 1-2 hours. STORY Cliche. Linear adventures with corny dialogues. A tiny bit little twist right at the very end of the story. Bunch of screens, great storytelling by a nice old man like voiceover. Not bad but like I said, nothing new here. There are some collectibles called “Nuggets of truth” that are fairly easy to see. You collect them so you can enter a menu with some very interesting notes and stories about the Wild West as a whole. Gives a nice insight to the story, explains some wild west famous mysteries - written quite well and concise so I enjoyed reading all of them. GRAPHICS Cell like graphic style similar to Borderlands with comic like additions. Whether one likes it is totally dependant on one`s taste. Looks good and works well on most PCs. I can`t really say anything more. The environment, maps, models, guns, everything looks alright. MUSIC Good western music. Slow when storytelling, fast when there is action. Makes up for most of the game`s mood. Overall sound quality is top notch and about the only feature in this game I`d say that is better than average.

MULTIPLAYER ONLY GAME. I like this game so much that I wrote my very first review of it on Steam. See it as a assymetric multiplayer horror game with fast paced gameplay. Some say it is better than Evolve and I can`t really disagree. As of now you can buy this game because the player numbers are substantial for good mp experience. You don`t need elite players to enjoy this game. Anyone can pick it up, play with people who they don`t know and still have a great time. It is very hard to break the experience because most of the people are focused on having fun toghether. I did not encounter any cheaters or exploiters. GAMEPLAY Gameplay quality surpasses most other games in my opinion. Digital Confectioners made it a bulletpoint for a good reason. A mouse with two buttons and few keyboard keys is all that is needed. Everything is smooth and fast. Controls of both sides : sharks and divers are simple and work very well, povs are good. Everything is easy and intuitive. Anyone can play this game with success. GRAPHICS A bit dated. Textures are very low quality here and there but that concerns mainly the maps. This is visible particulary in shipwrecks and on ground (sand) textures. Other than that the player models are well made, have some nice details and move exactly like they should. Divers swim like humans do, sharks wiggle like they really do. It really feels like swimming under water, All the colors are there. As a diver you WILL get scared and as a shark you feel like a perfect killing machine. The higher you go, the more sunlight there is. Personally I`d add a bit more turbidity and take away some light. Overall graphics do not limit the experience, the game is scalabe and works well even on weak PCs. MAPS 10 maps so far. Makes for good entertainment but the devs need to add some more otherwise it can become boring a bit. In multiplayer the maps are randomised so typically 3-4 make for most matches. The environment is ok, the sharks can crack some walls to make new ways for themselves. There are few routes to get into the same location. One of the maps (a flooded mine) is a labirynth. There needs to be some more variety or mp numbers will shrink quickly. MUSIC/FX A little weak. Should be better. I do like the interface sounds though the player sounds, the water effects, the gun effects need some work. For me it is of low quality like listening to a bad recording. A shame because if the sounds were as good as the graphics, the horror of fighting sharks would be simply breathtaking, maybe even unbearable. As of now you know you are playing a game and you get used to it. MULTIPLAYER So this is only multiplayer game. Very cool idea wrapped in a game that everyone will understand and be able to have fun with. Main type of match is 4 divers, 2 sharks and 30 tickets for either teams. Two other modes are not so good and are usable only when you want to take a break from the usual stuff. So the main match mode is very addicting. You do some treasure hunting, you do some shark hunting, you do some fighting for your life, you do some diver hunting. Interesting stuff. 50 hours of multiplayer is easy to break in this game. Many people online daily so far. Time between matches is about 5 minutes. Easy to find fluid, lagfree games. The casual nature of the game however results in lack of coordination in most matches. Most of the things is improvised although the game is so simple that everyone gets the point and knows what to do and how. Newbies are apparent but don`t get to ruin matches too often. I also spotted some balancing issues which should be resolved. Some skills imo are just fillers whereas many many cool ideas simply didn`t get implemented. Devs still support the game. Some new mode has been added few days ago. Bugs, as few as they are, are being worked on. I hope this game will still grow. A one of a kind multiplayer experience.

Max Payne 3

One would expect much more from this game. Max Payne 3 has hardly any assets its predecessors had. In few spots Rockstar`s charm shows but that is too few and far between. What we get is a mediocre shooter that might have been great if not for some costly mistakes. GAMEPLAY Mindnumbing and unsatifsfactory. Very saddening for me since all the other adventures of Max were great action games with great controls and nice shootouts. None of that here so the whole game is ruined because of that. First of all the controls are sluggish and unresponsive. All the control sequences like flips or taking cover feel like separate figures. You hit the buttons but Max responds with big delay. For example the player cannot do a smooth transition from a flip to taking cover and receives needless hits. Also the bullet time dives are awkward as they rarely help in any way but to get Max out of cover into enemy fire. The levels are claustrophobic with only one way to go. The level setting through the whole game is this : you enter a level, you shoot swarms of enemies, cutscene, repeat. And even if the cutscenes are somewhat good, you can`t help but think that again all you will be doing in a moment is exactly the same. So as I said, there are swarms of enemies - all of them run around, take cover, shoot. Pretty standard. But for Max to kill them you need a headshot, eitherwise the goons are bullet sponges. So you get into an office room with a 45ammo Uzi and have to deal with 7-10 guys, every one of them take 1/3 of the clip to be killed. The other scripted scenes don`t surprise in any ways and are painfully predictable. So the player keeps mashing the mouse button in hope something interesting might happen but no, nothing like that comes into play. There`s hardly anything interactive in the levels so you feel like walking into a box. Everytime you walk into the next level, a trap door closes and you can`t go back. There is no freedom here, just stiff shooting in poorly made settings. GRAPHICS Mediocre. Some textures are terrible, some are ok. Everything has been dated since the release of this game. The colors are purposefully washed out to improve the game mood. Both the levels and actor models look artificial. None of it makes a realistic impression. STORY Well written. Some cliches are here ofcourse but that couldn`t be avoided imo. Max` story is a sad and painful one, exactly how it should be. The cutscenes where he drinks or wakes up after a drinking night are surprisingly amusing. This influences all the other scenes where he`s just a stupid gunman for hire, killing hundreds of different people. For this reason alone the story is engaging as the player want to stick with Payne to the end of game. MUSIC/FX That is a second and last good part about Max Payne 3. All the sounds are very nice and immersive. The guns and explosions sound exactly like they should. The dynamic music does everything it can to empower story scenes and shootout scenes. Dialogues are worthy of listening to and some sequences like the Brazilian discoteque stand out among other similar games. So suming it up it ain`t a bad game. Great at some points but mostly boring. I`d give it a 7 but the extensive DLCs and obligatory Social Club account (another worthless account) make it even worse and even good multiplayer in this game cannot make up the plethora of lost opportunities.

Wasteland 2

Good game for common people, great game for Fallout fanatics, though still with lots of flaws. 146 hours for my **** me this was the first game since Fallout Tactics which felt like the actual Fallout. Now Wasteland is not Fallout mind you, but they`re pretty close setting wise. Lots of good stuff and lots of bad stuff. GAMEPLAY/GRAPHICS The gameplay is good. There is strategic fighting. People die in gruesome and satisfying ways. Objects get destroyed, explosions and energy charges look cool. Parts of environment can be destroyed. That said, there is no proning. There are no reaction buttons (like in Fallout Tactics). The covering system is outwright broken (no cover where should be, too easy to hit covered objects). Some guns don`t have burst mode when they should. I`d say that the gameplay in WL2 requires a rework because the combat is really a roulette even to a Fallout fan.I wanted to see WL/Fallout get more with the times. I wanted to see some ideas from say XCOM, nothing like that actually hapenned. The ally NPCs turn hostile everytime you hit them (friendly fire).Critical hits are not portrayed graphically in any form other than red **** cannot hit individual body parts other than head - which has no influence on sight **** effects such as bleeding, shock, concussion are painfully random. There are only 3 types of energy weapons. Also, the damage they do is nonsensical. There is no AP/JHP **** close range aim penalty for Assault Rifles and Sniper Rifles is **** don`t some enemies drop loot when killed?!You kill a guy carrying a minigun but as soon as you get to his dead body he`s empty….???Tha Attritubes system heavily prefers Speed, Strenght and Awareness. Other attributes are of no real meaning to gameplay or story. You will not be able to choose special dialogue options even if you choose high Intelligence. You can be a great Surgeon/Field medic with 3 intelligence. You can have 4 NPCs with you even if you have 2 Charisma. And so on.Moreover, in conversations, once you said something you can`t return to certain themes.. The characters can choose their clothes but the armor they wear is not shown - so I wear Power Armor but still look like a light armed commando. Really made me scratch my head on this one. Why did the developpers think that I`d like my player to wear jeans more than Power Armor…someone ask them please. STORY I played Ranger difficulty. In every single map I was outgunned and outnumbered. Each and every type of enemy is better equipped and better trained than the Desert Rangers. No difference if you fight raiders, robbers, militia, the military commando or androids - all are big threat to your team every time. The animals such as badgers are enemies as fearsome as the Deathclaws in Fallout which is silly. Sometimes the quests broke because I did things out of the order - for example if I had a conversation with the quest giver AFTER I killed his enemy, he didn`t notice it or thank me nor could I tell him I did him a favor. No, you need to do the quests in a certain order or you`re in for a loss of your gaming time and XP.I cannot fathom why did the developpers think than boxes, crates and doors need to “level up” with the player. You can`t just get the skills to a certain level, you have to constantly work on them. It is not like a crate hiding a good assault rifle needs level 8 lockpicking to be opened. The difficulty depends sheerly on what level you are. So you open that box that required 10 lockpicking and you get 10 rounds of .45cal ammo…At the end of the game you need level 9 skills to open all but few doors/boxes or repair something. Again, who thought it was ok? MUSIC/FX Very good, climatic music to go through the whole story. There are few background sets that put you in that postapocalyptic mood. They don`t get in the way of good fun and match the extensive reading in this game. Personally I`d add 3-4 more of those, because IMO every town and settlement should have its own melody, not so in WL2.I really like the FX of the guns, splatters, shooting and hitting different surfaces. Interface sounds, reloading sounds etc. all done very well and add to the gameplay and story a great bit. CONCLUSION Overall, Wasteland 2 is a good game for me. It might feel a bit behind the times for a newcomer though. Some gameplay and story choises left me wondering but overall I enjoyed the game and felt bad that it finally ended. I also can`t help the feeling that a masterpiece could have been created but we just got a good game. Don`t get me wrong, for and indie game it is impressive but still it missed so many opportunities and few questionable design choices. It cost me the same as an AAA title so I grade it AAA-wise. So WL2 gets an 8 from me but it would take a LOT of reworking the game to get a 9 or even a 8,5.

It`s okay, I guess...A simcade title for old TOCA fans, so to speak. This game has so many nice things and equally many bad things it is hard to justify buying it. I guess I bought it because it was on sale and I was curious. So after 16 ingame career seasons I played this game for over 70 ****. I guess it is quite good. Not great but good, yeah. 7 out of 10, guys, minus one for extensive DLCs. DRIVE MODEL/PHYSICS It`s fun. It can get hard at times, but a Simbin veteran will dislike it. While playing it you have to change your driving style which is quite different from sim-aspiring titles. So you get bad driving habits. Once you get aquainted with the DM, which takes about 3 hours, I guess it is fun to drive. The devs deserve to be commended for changing the rubbish GRiD2 DM, where you won by drifting. Here, you must drive in a technical, smooth manner or you lose. The drifting is very easy and fun. So a simracing fan can find some fun in this title and arcade racing fan will feel right at home. TRACKS/CARS Very good selection. Openwheels, prototypes, supercars, V8 supercars, even hothatches are there. Every car has its own character, drives a bit different. The player feels if a car is a rear-drive. The over and understeer is there and it is noticeable. There are some tracks from GRiD and some internationals like Spa Francochamps. Sadly, no Nordschleife but what can you do. The highlights are A to B circuits which are unfortunately DLC. SOUNDS/FX Head and shoulders above anything racing I`ve played to date. Just excellent, creates 70% of the good immersion. Thanks to the sounds, the cars are living beasts. Made me go on for much longer than I wanted to play this initially. GRAPHICS There is damage model but very simplified. The textures are not up to today`s standards (yes I have the High Textures DLC). What can I say, the graphics do not hinder the racing experience too much and that is most of what can be said about it. Oh and the **** are **** can a pc developer create such a monstrosity is beyond me. The dashboards of all cars are blurry, no gauges work. If it wasn`t for the great sounds and good career, I`d quit this game after 10minutes. CAREER/GAMEPLAY Good career. Lots of races, lots of different configurations but many get repeated. Surprisingly, the Grand Slam created incentive for me to keep playing, and I wanted to check out all the cars. At level 6 there`s not much left of that incentive though. The great part is that the player can change everything at any point in time. Be it graphics settings or difficulty or race duration, you name it, it is the player who chooses what and when to play. You can quit an race when you want, you can even quit an ongoing season to enter the next one. The AI is nothing special although it is similar to GRiD - the opponents do make mistakes sometimes. Often, at the start of a race, there are major crashes involving few cars. If you get to evade such a crash, you can win easily. So even if you are 2nd and have 10 seconds difference, you continue racing. What really made my blood boil often is the penalty system. There are far too many instances when you cut the track and the game freezes you for a few seconds, even when your opponent crashes into you. This is very annoying especially at chicanes. A big bump on the road of my enjoyment with this game.

Feb 25, 2015
Very good, laid back action rpg. I bought it because I was pleasantly surprised with the first Van Helsing and I was not dissapointed. Was the sequel improved? Well, yes. But I do not feel any of the improvements actually enriched the game. Many things are the same as in the 1st part, so this can even be called and expansion pack. There will be Van Helsing III and I`m sure than all of them could be made into just one game. Nevertheless, it was 15€ at premiere so it is worth it. Overall I should say I had much fun with it. Except for the bugs, which are still in the works 10months after release, it is a must buy for aRPG fans. STORY The story picks up on where Van Helsing I ended. It is quite generic but not too boring. The sidequests are a bit tedious. I liked all the minibosses and the endbosses (yes, there are two of them). The ending is very weak. Also, I felt that all of the banter between Katarina and Van Helsing was very weak. Same should be said about some cameo`s which were corny. Still, 34 hours of gameplay is not bad. GAMEPLAY I am somewhat confused about this. The gameplay is overall fun though it is hampered by bugs. I had many CTDs and some graphical bugs and that made me a bit nervous. Had to search for answers on the forums and even then I did not find an answer to my troubleshooting. I had to test the graphic options for a few hours. Other than that it is still Van Helsing. I started from lvl 30 and to be honest it was quite hard at the start. My hardware was simply not up to the task so I had to get new stuff straight from part II to go on. The gameplay is very dynamic, using player skills is easy. The AI is not very bright but you face literally SWARMS of enemies at once so it doesn`t matter too much. As in the 1st part, the tower defense sections are very nice and fun with many very cool traps. Sadly, the sequel did not improve what should get improved. As in the first Van Helsing, sometimes I had trouble recognizing where to go, I was often stuck at some bushes or crystals which resulted in many cheap deaths. It really can get iritating at times. The game features some new stuff with adding runes, getting a Chimera pet but I didn`t find them any interesting. I felt that more should be improved on creating new skillsets and auras, reworking the UI but none of that happened. MUSIC Same as in Van Helsing I. Very good, never boring. The devs gave OST which is very cool. I don`t mind if they use it in Van Helsing III. GRAPHICS Not much improvement over the 1st one. Still cool graphics but a little worse optimised. Most of the maps are the same. The user interface wasn`t changed much though it is still good.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall

I enjoyed playing Shadowrun : Dragonfall much more than Shadowrun Returns. Probably because of the better narration while I still felt it should have been a much better game overall. The game is an upgrade of the older title probably in every way, though still very limited. It has good pace all around, some more stuff in it, few more skills. That said, most of its predecessor flaws stay the same. So it is a better version at best, not a different game. If you hated SR, you will hate Dragonfall. At 80% of the game`s story I felt exhausted and bored. For me to buy another Shadowrun Title from Harebrainded Schemes they would have to introduce something revolutionary. Because frankly most of the times I played this one, it got me thinking time and time again how the genre has fallen back in development. If IMO Shadowrun Returns was a 7, Dragonfall is a 7,5. STORY The story is based on a run that went bad. You`re one of the team that performs a basic operation at first glance, then sh_t hits the fan and everything goes wrong. One of your teammates dies, you`re caught in an ambush and you have to run. After you save your skin, you decide to get to the bottom of what happened back there and why. Telling the rest would be a spoiler. All I can say that it is well written, there`s a nice twist. The difference from the older title is that it is a bit less linear. You get to discard some of the side missions if you want. Still pretty sensless because ofcourse you will do those missions. Two of them are completely sensless and silly and add nothing to the game. The rest is ok in a way they give you more money to buy stuff. The ending to the story is pretty weak and as in the other title your choices dont`t matter that much. MUSIC Same music that is in Shadowrun Returns, with few variations. Goes well with the mood of the game, changes depending on the situation. GAMEPLAY This is where I have a problem with Dragonfall. At first you notice that now you have one main map where you can see different vendors and buy different stuff, talk about side missions. But that is about it. What you do and where you go besides that is a strict one door linear path to the story. I mean few times you can talk yourself out of trouble, although still you are going to end up in a fight. However the game is still very limited. If you ever played Fallout you will painfully experience this. The enemies do not drop any loot besides security cards. The player has a very limited inventory and cannot rearm his teammates upon mission start. You cannot prone or crouch. You cannot exchange items with your teammates. The game is missing some classes like infiltrator. The biggest problem I have with it is that when you select your class, you`re pretty much required to go its path all the way. If you pick a mage but want to carry firearms, you`re not going to be great at either magic or shooting. There are no traits or perks that would influence the gameplay. Some classes are clear favorites, so you`ll be much better off creating a street warrior and take one decker into the team than having a shaman/mage. The spells system is very scarce and when you do get to cast your strongest spell, your action points leave you open for bullying. A mage cannot even carry cyberware because it makes him lose his abilities. Why? You do not get to customise your looks, you do not get to customise your teammates at all. Maps are ok. Much more varied than in Shadowrun Returns. Still there is not much choice how you go about your task. Just go here, go there, shoot this group, proceed forward. GRAPHICS Standard Shadowrun graphics with some UI upgrades. The actor models still look silly on zooming in, weapon models are divided into four groups. Few more grenade types. Not much else to say.

Alien Rage is a good first person shooter with many gameplay related issues. 6 hours in a single player campaign. I`d compare it to Bulletstorm, which is about two classes better. For 5$, yea it`s worth it. A feeling of cheapness for this game is overwhelming. But yea, this game is decently playable. Good things first. So we have Unreal Engine here, looks pretty good in 2014 but it is aging rapidly. Graphics are nice enough, nothing particulary bad. Some levels really look great. The music is okay too. Nothing special but fits the scenery, doesn`t irritate. Guns feel and shoot like standard fps hardware. There are 7 types of which have their own differences. I like how the ironsights look on them, they sound and look pretty good. Now the bad things. There is no story. You just shoot stuff and blow things up. The voice acting is standard, but the actual text is very annoying. So all the voice actors do a good job while the guy who wrote the stuff didn`t do good at all. AI is horrible. Yes, they take cover, they shoot, they seem to have some strategy but after 30seconds you notice what is wrong with them. They are far too accurate even on lowest difficulty setting. They are far too quick. They have unlimited ammo, so you get sprayed with grenades all the time. They do not see walls, so even when you hide, they know exactly where you are and they shoot you through the walls. Then all you have to do is crouch hidden, they will come running like sheep one by one. They are really tough too, so the only way you can survive is to score multiple headshots. And so with an exception of minigun and boss stages, every single enemy shootout looks the same in Alien Rage. You walk into a room, a flood of monsters appears, rinse and repeat. Oh yes, the boss battles. They`re not that bad, just not fun at all. While walking through the game I had a feeling that no one tested the gameplay. There are so many cheap player deaths here that you have to stop playing every 2 hours just not to throw your monitor. There are no powerups, no special skills or facilities. You get three most basic player perks and that`s it.

Risen 2: Dark Waters
6
User ScoreMustisTheCat
Jul 12, 2014
56 hours of painfully mediocre gameplay. DLCs completely worthless. If you enjoyed Gothic 3, you could like this game. But if not, stay away. Risen 2 is what is left of The Great Gothic series. Feels like this game was being made for graphics first, and there was not enough time to rework the gameplay. It feels incomplete at best. You explore a beautiful jungle and then suddenly you get killed by a monkey which takes at least 10 blows with a sword to kill. Very nice touches here, stupid and mediocre mechanics there. STORY A very interesting story, at a first glance. You have an inquisition guy who disquises himself and joins the ranks of pirates to save the world from Mar, the force behind the titans walking the earth. So we got pirates, we got titans, seems pretty good no? Well, not quite. The game looks like creators built a cheap knockoff of Mass Effect 2. Yeah, search for the titan artifacts, fix yourself a ship and crew and make it big. Not nearly so. The dialogues are poor. Most of the time you just skip them because nothing what is said is interesting or fun. You just go with it, to get the quest listed in the diary. The characters are weak – both the NPCs and other people feel lifeless. As if you were talking to an ATM for money and glory. The ending to this story is so weak that you question yourself why you played it for so many hours. The answer is that this game kind of hints to the gamer that there`s an epic quest around the corner. That you would gain some special skills and items that would enrich the gameplay tenfold. The truth is that none of that comes. The whole thing is just like a big sidequest. You go there, you do this, you get a cutscene. There is no challenge, there is no big prize. And YES, the end of game means you end playing it. GAMEPLAY The gameplay is even less of what the first Risen was. Less skills, less items, less character development. A lot of it was cut to suit the consoles and it ended like half of what even the worst of gothic series was. To Gothic fans, Risen 2 immediately feels familiar. Same walking, running, jumping. The openness of the world is still fun, that is if you can get through the VERY old Gothic mechanics. To be honest, years ago it looked ok. Nowadays it just looks silly. Risen 2 seems like a game in its own world. As if it did not notice that the world moved on forward since 2005. So as written above, you make less elixirs, you have less weapons to deal with, you have less combat moves to learn. None of the gameplay feels like extended. For some reason Piranha Bytes thought it was alright to still force you to sing with one of the fractions, so you can`t learn muskets unless you joined the inquisition. No reason at all to implement such a limitation, because the gameplay only loses. The sword fights are boring, the guns are silly. You often lose fights because the camera feels disconnected. You still have to learn a friggin kick. Still a single animal you come across in the first 10 minutes of the game is a life threat to you. Most humans are more dangerous than you and can kill you with one blow. This made sense 10 years ago, now it doesn`t make any sense at all. Gameplay wise, I can`t even compare this game to, say TES : Oblivion. This and Oblivion just seem like games from two different ages. MUSIC It blends nice with the environment. Gives the game a good, pirate like exploration flavor. Does not irritate. Quite a good job. Saves the game from a sad defeat. GRAPHICS This and music kept me going. I wanted to hear and see something more. Beatiful green islands, sandy beaches, dangerous caverns. beautiful towns. The lighting, shadows are awesome here. The scenery looks briliant when there`s a storm raging. The whole environment changes from day to night, from sun to rain. Wonderful. That said, the characters and animals look mediocre like dolls, not living people – very artificial.

Painfully mediocre TPP story shooter. The main singleplayer took 10 hours to beat, that is good. This game is very uneven in such a way that in some areas it is very nice, in others sub-mediocre. The DLCs are totally worthless. STORY Pretty standard Godfellas stuff. Few plots orbiting around one main plot but none of them goes on its own. Some chapters were good whereas some **** royally (example : jail chapter). I was left wanting for more as the story ends abdruptly. I liked the main characters, others were just believable. Pretty good storytelling and dialogues. Enjoyable but way too short. GAMEPLAY This is where this game underdelivers. There are many bad limitations to the way you get around with your character (example : can`t shoot while in car) and with really no excuse. It feels unfinished because you cannot do what you are normally used to in a TPP sandbox game. There is no ranged melee (you can`t use a club, a knife). Moreover, there isn`t too many types of missions you do, most of them are just go here, wack this guy, go there, deliver this package, rinse and repeat. Some more variety would really be welcome. The shooting and guns is very good here and saves the gameplay just enough I could get through the whole game. Nice variety of guns, each gun is different and suitable for different type of engagements. So the shootouts are very nice, it`s just that you don`t get too use them too often (I was hoping for a bank robbery mission but no). Also, the cars are very nice. Very fun to drive. Again, each car is little different in a noticeable way. Just not many of types of vehicles so you see the same ones over and over. Sadly, the AI buries the shootouts. Your teammates are unable to getby on their own, they do a terrible job of helping you. The enemy AI is super accurate with guns, has flash-like reflexes. As in the Mafia game, the cops are really strong, take three or more bullets to put down. And they appear out of nowhere carrying Thompson machineguns. They act like military veterans, charging you from every corner. They make getting around the town a really frustrating time, and since this is a sandbox type game, you get a lot of coppers shooting you when for example you have 1 minute to perform a bombing mission. So in between taking up assignments you are forced to deal with them when they interfere and it is just very frustrating. The customisation options are there, but they leave a lot more to be desired. In addition there are some noticeable bugs that took me out of the experience. Also, the checkpoint system instead of saves is just horrid. The checkpoints are too far apart in time. So few times I lost about 90 minutes of gameplay because one cop shot me and I had to repeat it. GRAPHICS Very nice most of the time. The town looks ok, inanimate objects are well detailed, people look good from afar. Interiors of some of the apartments look very cool and detailed. It is the cutscenes that show the weak sides - the complexion on the characters looks nothing like real skin, more like orange couloured concrete. Overall a very mixed experience. Was fun in some areas, in others left a bad taste. Not the Mafia game I was hoping for.

GUNS, GUNS, GUUUNS, as Marcus puts it! Excellent game that is an upgrade sequel to the Borderlands in every way. STORY Just about the same as it is in Borderlands. You get to Pandora, do some main quests, do some shooting/fethching/timelimit quests and first and foremost GET MORE GUNS BABY. Borderlands 2 features a set of mostly very interesting characters of which every has its individual way of aproaching you as the vaulthunter. The thing I love about this game is that while some sidequests are simple and boring errands, still many of those sidequests are actualy both fun and interesing and enrich the main story. Here and there you get a great gun or a fun sidestory or a silly villain or... everything of that at once! I`d say that Handsome Jack managed to lead me through the story just like Vaas did in Far Cry 3 - in a different way ofcourse but still - complicated character, sometimes funny sometimes bloodthirsty. Kept me going the whole time with no sign of boredom whatsoever. AI Very good. Lots of different types of enemies attack you in lots of different ways. You have to use some strategy depending on who you face. There are melee runners, snipers, riflemen, tanks, kamikazes, midgets, ****, yuppies and more. Some of them even use the loot dropped by their dead fellowmen against you. GAMEPLAY Outstanding. Gunplay in this game is yet to be rivaled. You get just about any type of a wapon you can think of. Add to that a set of different effects each wapon causes and you have thousands of variants. The player can customize his inventory 100% to his likes and can play the game in any way he wishes. So every encounter is different. GRAPHICS Slighly better than Borderlands. In my opinion it shows its age already but the map variety and artstyle compensates for it 100%. You don`t really pay attention to the graphics here as the maps are very fun and complicated. Character models are ok aswell. DLCs This game has dlc of exceptional quality. Each of them add something to the story. Besides buffing your character you get to meet some new people and their own stories. They are both challenging and rewarding. Lots of gameplay value for the price. Overall a great title that is sure to satisfy every fps gamer. It is interesting, beatiful fast, has heaps of gameplay with a lot of tongue in cheek humor and references. A wonderful exception to todays cashgrab trends, provides at least 100 hours of sheer entertainment.

First of all, this game does not look nearly like the trailers for **** is a scam and I hate it that we have to be a part of this, going for preorders as soon as we see another scam trailer. The devs deserve every low opinion of them as they cheated the public. As for everything else a game is, they pretty much failed at it. SOUND Two or three tracks play through the whole thing. Boring, uninspiring. It totally took me out of the experience. As if this wasn`t bad enough, the shooting, explosions sounds are very weak. The dialogues are ok at best. GAMEPLAY Let me tell you, the worst thing I can compare to this is FEAR3. The guns are awful as they handle in a very arcadish way. No matter what gun you choose, the aim is all over the place. Guns like the smartgun or shotgun you`d think are powerful tend to waste a lot of ammo since they take at least a few hits to score a Xeno/human kill. The melee mechanics are very stale and unforgiving, unintuitive. You won`t be using them too much. The Colonial Marines obviously didn`t come up with an idea to use a knife or a blowtorch as weapons. Moreover, the player cannot sprint more than 20 meters of length until he`s half-dead because of poor stamina. The armor/health bars are a joke, because there is no difference if you get hit in the head or legs, it is always the same. The thing I liked is the motion sensor mechanics where you have to hit a key to bring it up but you can`t use a weapon at the same time. AI Very poor. The Xenos charge you frontside, they do not use their strenght or tail. The humans always do the same - they spawn up in a map spot, go to a cover and shoot from there, end of story. Teammate AI can`t kill a thing, often blocks the only way forward. When travelling through the map they rush on ahead bypassing any enemies, leaving you alone to battle swarms. Other times they get caught up in a spot on the map so you have to wait fro them to spawn in another section. GRAPHICS What to say. Well, the year 2007 seems suitable for the graphics quality here. The textures are merely ok, the lightning is awful. The actor models are average at best. In some places there are signs of definite resource saving since this is first and foremost a 360 game. So in some places the game looks very poor. The killed enemies vaporize 10 seconds after being put down. STORY Normal story executed in a poor way. Half the time you battle humans only. Most of the time you`re running around opening door, hacking systems. Very monotone until you get to next section as the main story is short. The bossfights due to poor AI are weak, not scary in any way. Each and every cutscene is a disgrace to the Alien/Aliens franchise. MULTIPLAYER The number of gamemodes and modifications is ok. If you can get people to play this thing against each other than the experience gains some quality. Nonetheless it gets repetitive and after some hours in it I got bored. Overall feels like an unpolished and rushed 3rd rate production of some low budget game studios. Not recommended.

Please ignore the reviews below 7. This game has been attacked by Russians who can`t tell what is true about WWII in any case. I just picked this game few days ago and man, it is so good! A wonderful RTS set in horrible days of World War II. In singleplayer campaign that takes about 12 hours, you get to play the Soviets (Russians).Everything here is realistic. Very bad Red Army made of amateurs, not able to command anything, with inferior commanders, coward soldiers and poor machinery. They even shot a lot of their own people for no reason. This is all recreated in the game, the player depends mostly on Soviet cannonfodder in the first missions with it getting a little better with poor T34 tanks for example. There are some problems with the game. 1. In sp you can`t play as the Germans. 2. It needs a very strong pc to run good (but when you do the graphics are very nice). 3. AI can be very stupid at times. Nonetheless this game provides very realistic battles in a realistic enough setting so it is very satisfying, even when you play as Stalin lover. Wonderful, beautiful game 10/10.

But whatever **** features the 80`s as main star! Just about everything we love about those years is there. Michael Biehn, corny oneliners, training montage, sci-fi theme, neons, wacky scientists, robots and...dragons. Besides that this game is little different than Far Cry 3, just as much fun but not as big, so no use talking about the game mechanics. One single flaw of it is that you don`t get to fight the main villain at the very end. That`s a -1 right there! So instead of 9, it gets an 8/10.

A fun, enjoyable shooter. If you`re looking to play an FPS but don`t want CoD/BF experience, you can always play The Darkness II. This game is original, interesting and challenging for the first 12-13 hours. I would summ it up as smoething different, you know, such as Borderlands is for the FPS genre and that is becaouse I give it 8 out of 10. GAMEPLAY It is one of the better sides of this title. There are enough guns to keep the shooting interesting and the gunplay itself is fun. Every gun is a little different so the player can customize his inventory to certain situations. In addition, you can dual wield just about any two guns, be it the same type or different. You can shoot freehand or you can aim down the sights, both modes are ok. Ofcourse there`s no selecting between burst/singleshot modes but this is nothing that would take away from the gunplay. Gun animations such as reloading and arming are also there and well made. No real flaws here. AI, as this is mostly a singleplayer game, should be at least ok. IMO it is ok. There are many different types of cannonfodder here, so you have to change weapons and killing ways to make it interesting long enough. The enemies change their positions, take cover and move a lot. If I had any complaints here, it would be that they are too tough, especially in the later parts of the game. Here I come to the biggest flaw of this game. The levels are different and interesting, but no longer than after 2,5 hours the game ditches the changes of environment and just throws more and more enemies at you in different combinations. There are lot of scripts where the drones appear from different directions and spots and you can`t tell when this happens. As a result, you often end up encircled by enemies you thought you killed just moments ago. At about half through the singleplayer mode, this tends to get silly with waves and waves of enemies thrown at you, and you are repeatedly outnumbered with little ammo to spare. Even worse, those drones almost everytime come with guys who flash their lights at you, making you blind and ripped off your special powers. That doesn`t make the experience any better and just iritated me, because I very often felt underpowered, had to retreat and hide just not to die. Hardly the experience of an evil guy with mad superpowers. Lastly, the "tentacles" of Darkness are very cool, giving great interesting skills, many kill animations. Howegver as said above, the game itself often prevents the player from using them, which is a bad choice. The player is given some special abilities like creating a black hole. Most of them are "meh" but I wouldn`t sum it up as needless. They don`t make the game any worse, at times they make it better, so why not. STORY It is something I`ve never seen before and I liked it a lot. Jackie as the protagonist is very cool. You are the evil one who is making carnage everywhere. Everyone`s afraid of you. At the same time Jenny makes you show your human side whenever she appears. There are some different missions with classic "kill xxx drones and reach the level boss" style and there are some not fighting levels like the asylum where the player mostly talks with othere characters. Switching between the two makes the player really confused as to what is factually going on and that is a very good thing. The story swallowed me whole thanks to this and some of the memorable characters (Jackie`s henchmen). I finished the story in 8 hours, I rate it as good overall. GRAPHICS Playing through the game in 2014, I did not see anything particulary wrong here. The game is pretty, textures are ok. Guns and levels look good, character models are well detailed. Nothing like Far Cry 3 or Crysis but at the same time nothing that would take away from the enjoyment.

I play all my driving games with a wheel. I wanted this game to be a step up from WRC2 soo much. It failed miserably! How do I put it in the shortest way possible - the driving got much less fun that in WRC2 but the graphics got better. Almost all else is the same. Budget stages, budget sound fx and music.------------------ WRC2 was a good game when you got to know it, this one killed the best thing its predecessor had - good driving experience. I beat just about any level in WRC2 but I can`t get through WRC3. The driving is just boring. The force feedback is pretty much nonexistant. There is little to no difference how 2WD/4WD cars handle. There is no difference how cars react to gravel/mud/sand with an exception of tarmac. The car settings in garage (suspension/aerodynamics etc.) make no difference. My biggest complaint here is that while playing you feel like controlling a box, not a car. There is no indication that the suspension reacts to a surface type, there is just no feeling of driving a car whatsoever. There is no weight to it. The game doesn`t let you feel any of that.----------------------- All of this caused that I couldn`t analise my driving, I couldn`t know where I make mistakes. The game never let me do this. So while going through another special stage I kept getting this feeling that I do not like how this game feels, how it drives and how it looks.--------------------- Every single game I buy I gave a chance. I gave this game 6 or 7 hours overall and I never felt that it had the things that would make me appreciate it. ----------------------- WRC2 had good driving model and cars that would react to changes made in car settings. WRC3 let that slip aside and it doesn`t have anything else besides better graphics.--------------------- All in all this game feels like 80% of the funds and resources went to upgrade the graphics while everything else got left just being there. All this is very sad, how a good rally game could gone so bad.-------4/10 to my great dissatisfaction.

Beautiful, interesting game. If you`re wondering if the DLCs are worth of buying - just skip them. GRAPHICS This game has its moments, some even make you believe you`re watching the real thing. The best effects are smoke and lights, the actual textures aren`t that good, It might be the prettiest game I ever played I think. MUSIC and STORY Where Metro : Last Light shines is the story. The player comes close to his protagonist and stays with his adventures. It`s not the best there is, there are some copy and paste moments but that didn`t dissatisfy me. It`s very creepy underground aswell as in the city blocks. The monsters look great and give you goosebumps. All of it creates this dense atmosphere if danger and death everywhere. You are just a human crawling through tunnels, running from monsters, trying to survive. All of the maps are good and some of them, especially on the outside make up for some very powerful moments. Unfortunately the ending of the story is very weak and unsatisfying but I could live with relatively bad 30 minutes of what otherwise was a great believable world and story. I never was bored for a moment. GAMEPLAY It has some rough edges here and there. I beat the game in the Ranger Mode, so I didn`t know how much ammo I had, the interface was just too coarse. Other times I died not because of lack of skill or concentration but because I was meant to. There are some moments for example where you have to lookout or you fall in the green water - it was really iritating. There are some scripts that I don`t like but nothing that would kill the gameplay. Overall it is nice, much better than in Metro 2033 but sometimes I felt that the game was too rough on me. Nonetheless the savegame checkpoints are well positioned so the troublesome moments went away fast so I could enjoy the story. I have to say that the stealth gameplay is too fantastic - the AI is just too stupid for that. You stand in a shadow and AI acts like nothing ever happened. Other times in shootouts it just stands or crouches in one spot and waits until you kill it. Not too bad but not great either. Because of the gameplay I couldn`t give the game anything more than 8/10. It has to be said that my singleplayer campaign I went through in nearly 11 hours which is above average nowadays. The DLCs are uninteresting and make no good additions to the core game which however is very good on its own. So to sum it all up, I think it is a great game that falls short in some areas so it`s not a GOTY material. Maybe next Metro.

Wasted, huge potential. Let me start off with the techincal side of Rage. After all this time this game still has big graphical problems. The textures are not loaded in half the time. Sometimes you just feel like you were playing Minecraft. =============GRAPHICS are overall mediocra, very uneven. The actor models are sharp, living and convincing while the world textures are very similar to Half Life 2 quality. This game was meant to be a revolution whereas ended up as regresing the genre in few aspects. The objects in locations are simple bitmaps so you feel like you`re in a movie studio or a theater. In summary, graphics never let the player get immersed and forget that he`s just playing a game.=================GAMEPLAY is also painfully mediocre. The player has an inventory of guns and some objects. He can craft some items that really do not make a difference and just stay in the inv. most of the time. There is no progression system, the guns upgrade system is limited to 2 most basic upgrades. You cannot loot fallen enemies from their armament and armor. The guns are fun and interesting while the melee combat is drab and unresponsive. At one point you stop and think there is really no point to keep playing. The quickuse feature does only so much to complicate combat instead of smoothing it out. There is no automatic leaning out of cover, you can`t turn the crosshair off. Besides shooting there`s really no more you can do. Even the relatively clever AI doesn`t manage to change the routine here. Maybe the car races deserve to get a mention but they get boring fast it is obvious that this is unfinished. ================STORY, generally would have been a hit if they got more time to build it. The schematic part goes like this you enter a town, buy some supplies and go do a main quest. Then you renturn, get paid, buckle up with resources and go back to the same 2-3 locations to do the same which is shooting people/mutants. It is really too bad, because some of the locations show great creative work that make you go "uh, oh!", then 3 minutes later you are hiding behind a couch in a room that is a jpg in 80%. There is no interactivity with objects. Rage actually started getting interesting at the very last level that showed both some graphical prowess and very satisfying gunplay. And then SNAP! it ended with a 40sec cutscene. =========VERDICT overall this game shows some signs of a very ambitious project that ended up being a very generic basic and schematical FPS that fooled lots of people into buying based on false marketing campaign.

A wow ****! I picked it up for a bargain and based on good reviews but I never expected such a fine rpg. Be sure, it is not a Diablo clone. This game has its own specific character and I love it. -----------------------------------GAMEPLAY This game just **** you up as the time flies by. The controls are smooth, the user interface is fairly simple for such a complicated set of skills. You start slow from 2 basic skills and you end up with a whole arsenal of them, using all of them quickly to your advantage. There are multiple options and tactics how you want to set up your character. Generally it never gets boring, because the skills/tricks/auras system is very fine tuned to reflect the character level progress. There are swarms of enemies thrown at you and beating them to the ground is very satisfying. -----------------------GRAPHICS are very cool. The isometric view I like very much, yet the maps are beatiful and first and foremost, they live. You can smell the stinge if the swamp and the industrial areas in this game. The models are pretty poor up close, but in zoom out view everything looks very good. If there is a complaint here I`d say it is the system requirements often fps drop to low thirties which is wierd for such simple graphics so I guess optimization lacks a bit here. -----------------------------------------------MUSIC is very good. There are basicly two main music tracks that play through the whole game, besides some of the laboratories and dungeons. All of them fit the atmosphere very well and never bore the player.------------------------------------------------------------- I should also point out that I liked the dialogues very much. They are both clever and funny and enrich the overall image of the game. If I would complain about something is that the walkthrough was a bit too short. Approximately 26 hours, but you have to know to sit about 1/3 of it through managing your stash and artifacts. But nowadays even 26h is pretty good, even more that the game features three completely different characters and has many skills that cannot be covered in a one walkthrough. My biggest surprise of the 2013 and easily an 8 out of 10. I am anxiously waiting for expansions.

It is ok, I guess. Mediocre third person shooter and sadly a pretty bad console port. Nothing really stands out in this **** graphics are fine but bad porting made it so the fps is often a single digit even on good hardware. Binary Domain has pretty much all the standard features of aTPS, basic story layout shooting cutscene shooting and so on. I`m not saying this alone is bad, no. It can always be enriched to enhance the whole title., although here we have none of that. There are many varied levels, though it ends up always the same takig cover and shooting. The AI is good and varies depending on the type of enemy though again, not too many of those. There are few weapons, few skills, few upgrades, few items such as grenades. The controls take some time to get used to but generally are alright. I was bored within half of the story time (summed is approx. 10 hours from which 9 is gameplay) but I wanted to know what happens next. I just had to sit through all the blablablah bad dialogues to see it. Not to mention this game covered probably every action movie cliche ever made. The repetitive gameplay was sometimes interrupted by the level bosses which is a nice touch. All in all I can`t say I will remember Binary Domain, although I did wal through the whole thing so I guess I did enjoy it. A full 7 out of 10.

A mediocre first person shooter, though extremely frustrating at times. The gameplay mechanics are good, not too complicated or varied, just standard stuff. 90% of the game is fast, running and shooting, 10% is hacking. The gunplay is exceptional, all of the guns are loud, have a nice recoil, though there is only few of them. The controls are intuitive, so it is easy to use all of the cybernetic features of your character. All of that is enhanced by believable soundFX and music. Sadly, all of that is somewhat ruined by questionable level and story design. The shooting would have been a nicer experience if the creators gave it more thought. Most of the fights is shootouts in open arenas, often with very scarce cover. If you do not play in coop mode with other humans, you are alone vs 10-50 enemies at once. Retaliating enemy swarm after swarm gets tiring fast and doesn`t make much sense. Even the fact that there are up to 6 types of them doesn`t change that. The same goes for the bossfights. I like the basic LEVEL-BOSS layout, although here the player ends up mostly at a big disadvantage against a boss and numerour other enemies, again in an open arena. This results in really lot of cheap player deaths. Moreover, the bosses have a special weakness that is not in any way explained, so you have to figure it out yourself, mostly after 4 or 5 deaths. Also, the mini puzzles are not explained so you often end up just standing in a room trying to figure a way out. The single player campaign on normal difficulty setting took me 5 and a half hours from which at least 20 mins is story cutscenes. I was tired with the game after 4 hours but went on just to beat it. I got the game for $10 and I don`t feel ripped off, but I would`t pay anymore for Syndicate.

A typical example of a "graphics don`t make a game". This is actually the 3rd game in the last 5 years I uninstalled before beating it. I got few hours into it before I could make final judgement. 3 hours into this and nothing new comes up anymore. Basicly it`s just a game of shootout cutscene shootout line. There is no variety with the shooting, the sceneries are blend and uncreative. The weapons are just fine, but there is too few of them to make a difference in game experience. Ammunition is VERY scarce, so the player often runs around with no ammo, even when he preserves it by scoring single shot headshots repeatedly. The player faces the same 3 vs hordes of AI shootouts which are just silly. The AI is stupid, the wingmen AI is even worse. There is a ton of cheap deaths caused by wingmen not covering you, out of ammo, being stuck in a map corner you thought was interactive. The controls are very simple yet often the player character does exactly the opposite you want him to. The two things in this game that stand out are the story and the graphics. Dialogues are nice, all 3 chars have their own personality. The city of Dubai looks epic, what goes on in its ashes is often brutal and sad. Make no mistake war is hell, as always. However, those good sides would make a good movie, but the game-side of this one is just poor and completely ruins the atmosphere. All in all a very frustrating experience for which good movie-like features of Spec Ops The Line simply do not compensate. 5 out of 10.

Less than mediocre DLC. It is obvious this one is a cash in. All of the quests could have been easily included in the main game. Literally 90% of this content is fighting over and over the same ghosts, shutting down energy sources and even more fighting. The sidemini-quests are roughly the same type as in the main game. Scematic and not interesting.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The main plot of this DLC took me no more than two hours to complete. No additional items, wapons, cars, houses. Again, 90% is fighting ghosts, there is no bossfight. No wonder that it goes by 1,50€ on Steam, because it is not worth anything more. Just a time killer and not exciting at all. 5 out of 10.

In my opinion simply the best FPP game of the last years, the best sandbox type game ever. 99% of this game is well thought through. The game is never boring, the is lots and lots of freedom. ==================GRAPHICS are just amazing, little different than say Crysis3 but imo definitely on par with it. The grass is thick and beatiful, the bigger plants move when you walk or drive through them, the trees move when you shoot them. The water is great, there are plenty of animals even regular fish under water. The island is absolutely beatiful, even with the HD6950 onboard, because optimisation is great. The effects sunlight reflexes, flares, smoke, explosions everything beatifully made. ===================SOUND and FX is top quality. The guns feel real, the animals roar, growl wuf and whatnot. The birds are singing. The vehicles all have authentic sounds that differ depending on which you drive. Every bit of the island is different there is not a single village or outpost that is the same. Finally, the protagonist has a nice voice, has a LOT to say through the game. Along with the graphics all this make you feel totally submerged in the story and want to explore every meter of the island.=======================GAMEPLAY is especially clever here. The AI is very good, the guns all feel different and shooting is satisfying, even the driving never gets old. There are lots of cars and **** so the player never has to walk for hours (be sure the island is HUGE). The distances to every quest are just right so you never get bored. IF you don`t want you can fast travel any time you want. There are lots of home posts to rearm and heal. The collectible items are fun to explore for, the caves are very nice. The skill and crafting system is the single best thing in this game. You can get the skills or craft items or no your choice. The takedowns are very cleverly made, easy to learn, effective so you often will chose the knife instead of the guns. Finally here you do not have to shoot a guy with half the magazine to kill him, one bullet is often enough. The guns are plenty customizable, very satisfying to use different variants. There is not a single thing about the gameplay I did not like.============================SP CAMPAIGN is quite long, very clever for a FPP game, fun to play. The antagonist named Vaas is what drives you through the story. Other characters also feel alive and authentic. The flashbacks are very nice to see and play. The missions are very much varied and provide fun, emotions, dialogues, humour. Extraordinary quality for an FPP game, almost as ambitious as an RPG. And you do not have to do this it is your choice when and what you do. Overall this game owns Crysis series in every way possible, providing wonderful gameplay, beatiful optimised graphics and a good, well written lots of different things to do and a fun main story. Worth every penny of the 60 dollar price tag.

I played the fully patched GOTY edition and what a letdown it was! Technically okay. I accepted that it is essentially a zombie slasher game so I ignored that it has little to no guns. Honestly I hoped it would enrich the slasher aspect but I came out empty handed. There`s basicly no difference if you hit`em with a hammer, a combat knife or an axe. They fall on the 2nd or 3rd hit or occasionally lose some limbs and that`s it. There`s nothing detailed about the bodies that the zombies are. Granted they moan and growl like they should but killing them gets boring quickly. Most of the quests and sidequests are generic but sightseeing on a beatifully made island resort compensates some of that. It is fun to go around on feet seeing how people got eaten, some got barricaded and wait for help. The story is also pretty generic but keeps a good pace right to the end. Not that the characters you meet are interesing 0 they are blend as it can be. Don`t mind the crafting table it is just there to repair your current items. Most of the stuff that may be bought there you find on your own. I did not like the minimap which didn`t make finding paths to quests any easier. The music is..well, just there. It is a 6 out of 10 for me (just above the "meh" grade), I tried to appreciate it but I didn`t. Other than that I`m not a zombie slashers` fan but I hear opinions from such fans that they liked the game very much. Hence, the game will be fun mostly to them and remain a new but boring concept to the rest.

A spiritual successor to Painkiller. Moving, shooting and some more shooting. There are only two weapons but with some upgrades. There is a nice steampunk mood to it, the enemies are various. Some very stupid, some quite smart. It mainly looks like this the whole way to the end you enter an arena, shoot swarms of enemies, take some medipacks and powerups, upgrade some stuff and go to the next arena. Overall very simplistic gameplay but fast and satisfying. Lots of lightning and blur, nice textures here and there, nice looking maps, few ok bosses and that`s it. The story is so generic that it would not make any difference if they did not include it at all. Adequate for gamers looking for pretty fast arcade shootemup game.

A big dissapointment. Not much can be said about this game. The fighting system is pretty good. It has some variety nonetheless for some reason when you perform a leg-breaking move it does not make any difference from punching in the face. The only reason to learn different moves is that there are few types of enemies that counter one of them every time. The city is beatiful though the overall graphics are mediocre. The chase scenes are boring, the shooting is not fun at all. The side missions are boring. All the cars and bikes drive the same. The protagonist is ok but all other characters are shallow figures just taking up space. The story is nothing we`ve not seen before. Customizability is very limited. The whole game is just generic and coarse. I`m giving it a 6 out of 10 which means this game is a rental at best. Beat and forget.

A clever game for gamers that seek a challenge. It has a mediocre tutorial that does not fulfill its role, so the learning curve is steep and at the first walthrough you will be learning by mistakes unfortunately. If you are new to XCOM series you will like it more than the veterans, because this game is a much dumbed cousin of its elders. The game is quite addicting thanks to some RPG/RTS elements. The deeper you go the more new stuff you discover and new weapons. Other times the missions are nearly impossible to accomplish because you for example get thrown with little to no cover into a swarm of bazooka wielding giants. The natural part of the frustration is losing your men (and women heh) other times you will have to sacrifice newbies to get a clear shot for the captain. The game can be really hard even at normal difficulty setting so much so that if you`re new to this I highly recommend not selecting a higher setting than normal. The maps are fairly varied, not too much but just enough to keep going forward. There are also a few mission types, honestly here I was dissapointed. Overall the campaign is good, it proceeds just when it is about to get stale. Some strategy and thinking is required. I played 33hours to get through the whole thing, which is a huge number for a game nowadays. Moreso, the game is built the way that makes you want to beat it at least twice, because the first time you did not know the whole set of rules. Gaphics and music is okay. Overall lots of gameplay for this price so a 8.6 out of 10.

First off an advice DO NOT treat this title as a skulkgame. The AI is so dumb that if you overuse the cloak feature you will basically walk through the whole game. Definitely Crysis3 gives optimal single player experience if you play a bit of both creep in, do a mini shootout, hide for a few seconds, then enable armor and do them desperado style witha 50. cal. The game definitely promotes shootouts, there are lots and lots of weapons and ammo spread over each and every map. You can do it easy with the bow but it is meant for inept gamers. There have been added some cool pieces of hardware to mount on your weapons. If you want a challenge, you`ll be using just about every piece of equipment and vehicles for destruction and let me tell you it is so good! Yes, the game is a little slow at first but it picks up pretty quick when the cephs show up. They jump around, try to corner you, hide when low on health. The locations are actually okay. There definitely is incentive to visit every corner of each map, strike at one location, retreat and attack from a different direction. This is not a corridor shooter like some poeple say. For this reason I played Crysis3 purely in singleplayer and it took me 15hours. Yes, fifteen instead of five some people say. I would agree there are too many cutscenes I`d think made just to show off the graphics. Don`t get me wrong, graphics are very good, maybe the best, but we`ve seen that already in Crysis2. The final bossfight is mediocre at best. If you can buy it for not more than 30$ then I wholeheartedly recommend this game. Overall a good game with some nice moments but forgettable in the end. A 7out of 10 from me.

A pleasant surprise. Picked it recently and the SSS for a bargain and I really like it. Lots of cars. Not just sportscars, but also trucks of all kinds and normal city cars. Many of them drive very different, with few favorites being obvious (like the 4x4 cars for example). Very easy to drive but fun. The interiors are surprisingly well done for and arcade racer. The particle effects and damage model are also exceptional (funny enough, I find the smoke modelling to be the best ever in a pc game). The sounds and music are on par with the cars. Everything being built into a shallow story, but again, one that provides a lot of wild racing and side challenges that are painfully simple (not always easy) yet appealing. A well made , big and living city. This game gives solid more than 10 hours of gameplay and is worth the price. I`d say it is a perfect game for a person that wanted GTA to be more of a car game.

Very uneven game. For starters, the player has to bear down on the 2002 (horrible) graphics and play at least for a few hours. Even after an update installed, the pc performance for such old graphics is horrendous. For a real WRC series fan this game can be really good. Driving I`d say is not realistic any more then say in DiRT1. I`d say it is very enjoyable on concrete and wet concrete, but gravel driving is just arcadish. The emergency brake in this game is pure bollocks, even on the highest realism settings. Although the learning curve is pretty steep, it is very rewarding as one must to dump some of his dirt habits and learn to drive all over again. Sadly, even if the cars drive pretty nice, the whole experience ends up being very repetitive. One cause of that can be too few different cars included so much so the Mini doesn`t feel any different than a Fiesta. One will also see some racing legends here, but can find them pretty much undrivable in WRC2 conditions. The car livery customization is very limited and feels like Paint (nothing like Forza or even NFS here). The technical customisation is well developped and interesting. The career is good, because it has multiple choices involved so anybody can find something he likes. There is however little incentive to race better and make more money since the new and more powerful cars don`t do a good job in resembling In the end, the game is VERY open to customisation, so that a certain type of player can find his difficulty-fun sweetspot. So to sum it up, WRC2 fails to recreate WRC rally experience in its full glory exactly as much as Dirt2/3. Dirt being too glamorous and arcadish, WRC2 being too much on the rough side. Only for hardcore fans.

This got created to suit both fans of Tekken and SF and what came out is average. The stories are even sillier than in SF. Unfortunately one cannot play 1v1 if the tag thing doesn`t suit him. There are much less NPCs to interact with and take on missions. The ending is dissapointing, even after the Directors Cut DLC. Where Me3 shines is general gameplay - the fights are very emotional, fast paced and offer a lot of ways to dispatch enemies. It feels like a movie - you interact with many things but you rarely have influence on anything. I`d rather call it an extended First Person Shooter. Nevertheless the multiplayer is very addicting with new stuff coming every few months. Overall the game is satisfying with some of the above average features. Solid title.

Posting review after playing 136 hours. ================ I am still far from completing the 3rd out of 4 DLCs for this game. =======Graphics are nearly the same as in Fallout 3, though I didn`t like the used colour **** game has this 2010 look, you can easily point out low res textures ; it has good sides and bad sides : like the beatiful sun effect and the bad texturing of NPCs which look artificial. IMO the performance is subpar compared to other games with better graphics like the Crysis 2. You see slowdowns to 40fps and you do not know what causes it. Sometimes the terrain loading into memory is buggy. Overall doesn`t look very good, just ok.==============Gameplay is largely the same as in F3, but in F:NV has been enriched plenty. The crafting got a big boost. You can now make anything given if you have the right skills and ingredients. You can make many food, ammo, weapon, explosives, armor options. There has been a lot of weapons added, lots of them are very cool, with many available upgrades which actually change how they feel and play. Iron sight has been added, so the game crosshair is not needed anymore. There is so much of the stuff to gather that it is hard to grasp. The weapon and armor balance has been reworked, so now you can dispatch a heavily armored opponent with AP ammo fairly easily, while HP ammo is to be used on animals. There are up to four variants of ammo for almost every weapon available which is very impressive and enriches the gameplay tenfold.=============STORY. It is cool, not much better from F3 but ok I guess. You can now choose a fraction to ally with, but you can go on with yourself freely if you choose to do so. It is up to you. You have a few of important story variants. The quests are mostly interesting, not only kill or talk. Ther are many interesting locations, with interesting logs to hear and read. IMO the mood of the game is still succesfully postnuclear. Summing it up, playing doesn`t get boring , there is much incentive to keep going, exploring. The combat system in this game is still shallow to be honest.============DLCs are well worth the price and time spent. It gets stale at times, but the story of each dlc progresses at the right moment to keep being interesting. IMO the Honest Hearts dlc is by far the worst one but still ok.===========MUSIC is the same as in Fallout 2 wih some new tunes. To be honest I liked the idea because people added old F2 tunes to the game by themselves **** melodies never get old and pose a great addition to the story. However, the radio from Pipboy is inferior to this from F3. ======OVERALL verdict - upgraded Fallout 3.

I very much liked the game. It is a relaxing title with similar dynamics to Just Cause. Almost everything is lite here. Small story, small weapon choice, small mission variations. The shooting is ok, and it has interesting ideas like using the jet pack, jumping on the ledges. The controls are very easy, the ui is simple. There are some nice places here that make this game worth playing. The simple best about this game are the maps. It is very fun to use the jetpack to hover above the enemies shooting, throwing grenades. There are plenty of great shooting setups that make a good use of a very simple covering system. The thing is that in the end you start wondering what made you especially remember this game for. Well, not much. Good for a weekend walkthrough.

First of all, this game is not nearly as bad as people say it is. I dove into the abyss of what I thought was going to be a dissapointment but no. I thought it would be a terrible game. I was wrong. The music is average, the levels are average, the graphics is 2008. Many things lack seriously in detail, especially the women models. The bossfights are cool. Not that I love anything about them, but they are fun and not too easy or hard. Every one of them is different and none is bad, well maybe the thing underwater. Classic boss fights. The weapons are cool, well balanced, have nice animations and fun to dispatch enemies. The enemies are well varied, have good AI and get dismembered nicely. I did not like some of the levels, very boring, sometimes tedious and annoying. Often I did not know where to go or what to do. The levels where you play a small Dookie are interesting (esp. the kitchen fights). There are multiple spots where you stand in a field and surpress waves of incoming foes - that is poorly made. The interaction with facilities are ok, though I didn`t find the games too engaging. You also get killed many times because the game has weird scripting. With all that said, I had some fun, I could not get bored to the extent I`d quit playing. Overall the game is easy and simple to play. A standard FPS I`d say. Even for an experienced gamer, this game can get really hard at times. It is as realistic as it gets. You won`t do drifting here as much as slamming into a concrete wall. Offline play doesn`t give much incentive to go on, though there are plenty of nice tracks and cars to drive on and in. This game really shines in online leagues, where other sim racing fans gather. I am a racing game fan. Done them all, you name it. In my opinion Forza Motorsport 3 doesn`t exactly show the same progress like its predecessors did. The main thing I always look at while choosing a racing game is the sensation of actually driving a car. To be honest, Forza 3 falls in average cathegory in this respect. Gran Turismo is better with NFS SHIFT being the best. Given that I play thoset titles often, my first glance at FM3 made me recheck my console settings if I was running this at 1080p. Well, I did. Graphically this game is almost the same as FM2, just average. And no, I don`t rate graphics by watching the showcase rooms but the actual gameplay. **** are just rubbish, there is hardly any head movement that would show some G forces experienced by the driver. While driving in FM3 I feel as if I was a camera inside the car, steering it by a radio controller. The sense of speed is mediocre. The racing locations are merely on par with the competition. I love everything else about this game, but it doesn`t change the general impression one bit. When I feel like driving a virtual supercar, I choose NFS SHIFT or Gran Turismo.

Awesome game. It is too bad that de facto it has no competition on the pc. The other producers just forgot pc market alltoghether. This makes SSF4AE even more appreciated not only amongst pc SF fans, but all beat`em up type of games playing people. The game now has 39 unlocked from the get go charackters. The new Oni and Evil Ryu are interesting additions, the other Yun and Yang guys not so much. The game pretty much is identical to the Super Street Fighter 4, although it has some new and reworked online content such as My Channel Advanced or Elite Channels. The characters have also been given a rework, so you`ll need to drop some habits from the sf4 as the gameplay changed quite a bit. Each and every one of them has individual stats, so those looking for high ranks won`t be discouraged to play other characters than their main one from time to time. It is a very clever addition. Nonetheless the gaming is very enjoyable as I think the online code is also a bit better. At the moment I can`t think up any flaws (and I mean : any of them). Still, it is basicly just an expansion over Street Fighter 4 for PC so cannot be a 10.

An exceptional first person shooter. What is so exceptional about it you ask? Well, first off strangely enough the plotline is original. I don`t mean only traveling in time. It`s the way it has been executed. Not only you find yourself on a spooky, destroyed island, you also keep encountering those strange "explosions" which send you 50 years back. Lifeless, orange heaps of metal turn into living, good as new merchandise and facilities, with people doing exactly what they were doing before the catastrophy. There`s a scene where an entire ship is revived by time - it`s breathtaking. You also travel through portals. The very same idea makes you experience fighting humans AND alien abominations in the same game which negates any trace of boredom. The levels and enemies are nicely varied. Sure, it`s the same linear thing you get in 99% todays fps games, but this particular game has this classic old school feeling to it (you get medi packs for example). The weapons are also very nicely made with cool animations and fire types AND they`re upgradeable. In the same way you can change your running speed, shield, health and the Time Manipulation Device which is the single best thing in a fps game I`ve seen in years. This all achieves a very important point - you can dispatch enemies in multiple ways, anytime you want and at the same type you are the inhuman type with special powers, making a simple soviet soldier suffer in agony if you decide that he deserves to get 200 years older in one second. An addicting game. Too bad it`s quite short and falls in 2007 in terms of graphics quality.

THE game that is mandatory for every single racing fan. The driving is very nice. The cars act pretty much like in real life, maybe a little (but just a little) too forgiving. The graphics are up to date, very detailed and much better than in SHIFT. The driving helmet camera doesn`t exaclty catch my taste as it is completely useless, although the standard pit camera is also available. There is really lots and lots of content for a pc game - something like 30 tracks, almost 200 cars of which all are customizable. Career presents many different events, very varied with car type, difficulty, track types, time attack, invitational, old vs new, contructor races, american, japanese etc. In this respect nothing short of Gran Turismo. The interface is very well done, again much better than in SHIFT. Everything that is needed to be customizable has been made like that. The optical and mechanichal tuning of the cars is though tiny compared to FM or GT. Still, the racing never gets boring as the Autolog feature lets you make all sorts of racing against your friends - who`s the fastest, who has the most badges, who made the most points, who dominates online and so on. I`d say : until your buddies use this game, the replayability of it is unlimited. In my opinion it is the first NFS title that reaches to the same quality level as the Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo. You just want to take those cars for a ride, even if you were the only guy on the track - because every car feels unique. What I`m saying is - you can take the Alfa Romeo Giulietta to the Nordschleife and race it for 10 minutes - you won`t get bored because what SHIFT series accomplished is the feeling of speed and inertia even at 140km/h. And if what I write isn`t enough go to youtube and see real folks say the same : that car in the game almost perfectly resembles mine. I won`t write on which features SHIFT 2 is better than SHIFT, but believer when I say it - there are lots of examples where it is visible that the devs took notes and changed the things that were bad in SHIFT (ok one example : the user garage can have infinite number of cars). In one sententce I`d say that SHIFT 2 is a well thought racing game that gives much satisfaction from driving and which progressed significanlty over its predecessor.

3 words : a fun game. It tries to flirt with the real WRC rally fans but falls short in the end. Again, there are too few cars compared to old Colin Mcrae Rally games - few classics and that`s that. Graphics are very good (DIRT2 has it better, seriously), sound is okay (nothing special) , the driving gives some serious satisfaction. The Gymkhana events are surely the core of this game as they are great fun. The others - trailblazer and rally events are far worse than in DIRT2. Shorter, modest tracks with little variety. The Dirt Tour mode is also fun but not as much as online driving which is very addicting. Something I always praise about the Codies is that their games are 99% bugfree and can run with good graphics on a friggin old hardware. This game should be recognised not as what the devs presented it to be (real rally game) but as a fun title to play when you don`t really have much time for gaming in general. Solid and worth the price, but a backstep to the Dirt2.

This comes after three official patches and few days before the US release. Flight/Damage model. Quite the most important aspect of the game. I think both are well done, with the damage modelling being ahead anything sim-like released up to date. The planes can take all sorts of damage to pretty much any structural element. The hitboxes are placed everywhere, so you can lose your ammunition, you can lose your gear etc. The engine can suffer all kinds of failures, you name it. Wooden planes light like a match but take more explosive punishment. The flight modelling seems a bit off here and there, but it`s just a question of fine tuning. Graphics. Stunning, again imo the best ever in a sim. Visibly better than in Rise of Flight for example. All the reflections are there, the clouds, the trees, big cities, plane model detail and last but not least clickable , self shadowing **** which are their own class. Every gauge and lever works here, the canopy also might be retracted, everything supported by Track IR and 6 degrees of freedom. Everything on the ground is also exceptionally well detailed. Sound. Merely average. I`d say maybe a bit better than those in IL2:1946 but that doesn`t say much. When flying **** only it`s no biggie, but external sounds are awful, almost cartoon-like. It doesn`t exactly kill the immersion when flying, but it could have been done MUCH better. As of now, the developer is reworking the sound from scratch, so it may come out better in a few months. Online multiplayer. I`m affraid it`s almost non existant currently. No coops, very bad and unsuitable Steam interface make this a cery limited experience. For the moment, only the quake type servers are running which really isn`t the way the game is supposed to be played (I`m talking about real squadron based real war - type missions like say escort a bomber formation). Single player. Very limited, good at best. The English campaign is very bad, the German one is great. The thing I dislike about them is that you`re forced to run missions with different aircraft , basicly a bunch of loosely made missions instead **** pilot career. Not recommended. Performance. At release it was really awful. Recommended specs would let anyone run this game at mid 20s FPS and multiple stutters. Now it`s easily 70fps anywhere but over big city areas where it`s like ~40fps, still stuttering just a bit. Running this game at medium is possible, maximum settings are reachable only with top of the top of todays hardware. Nonetheless, the settings are VERY scalable, so after few hints here and there most will be able to play it with satisfying FPS. BUGS : the game has many bugs actually, happily none are show stoppers. In order to do the game justice, one must absolutely write, that the developer team is working on fixing every bug and optimising this game. There will be many patches to come though the years, as the sim is planned to be supported thrpughout the entire life cycle (possibly 3-10 years). The rating would couldn`t be higher, as this game still has big holes, which should never still be in a release.

Please consider that I did play multiplayer a bit but not too long. I don`t go online when playing FPS games mostly. As for everything else. Gameplay is quite addicting. I don`t have a problem with going throught the campaign once again. The humor is very good, a little too much swearing perhaps, but I still smiled alot. Gives the game a very specific taste. The weapons are quite nice - the player has just about every standard variation of a weapon from any other shooter. People Can Fly is just the group that excels in making original weapons and they didn`t do any worse in Bulletstorm. Dispatching enemies might be done in many many ways and is very entertaining. It`s worth noting that the first hour of singleplayer is a bit dull because one has only just about the standard assault rifle, but it gets interesting rather quickly. The game might feel repetitive at times though I don`t think the level of repetitivness ever gets any close to what Call of Duty games present. Also here we have many different enemy types, along with a big number of mini-bosses which is a very good thing. The big bosses pose a real challenge and take quite long to defeat. Overall the campaign feels Gears of Warish, FPP style and that also is a good thing. The maximum difficulty setting makes the game quite hard actually, something to be , again, considered in favor of the game. The graphics are very good, with few very beatiful sightseeing levels. The pace is fast and there is ever and moment of boredom. I say get it. It is always the best if someone risks low sales and actually pushes out something orgininal and quite unique in its own form. For that I give Bulletstorm a 9 instead of 8.

Coming from an oldschool gamer, experienced in racers and all other sorts of simulations. First off I want to say that I`m a bit surprised with the user rating. Right out of the box, the game immediately suggests high quality. The order of my paragraphs reflects what I want most with the game. Physics. I`m not an expert on physics, though I have a long experience in sims, especially racing ones. After two patches made available after few weeks after the release, F1_2010 presents an acceptable car behaviour. The brakes easily get blocked if you push too hard, and the throttle must be approached with easiness. Anyone that has trouble with those two I very much suggest fine tuning the controller settings. Also a too tight turn easily causes losing control of the car, as much as attacking the borders of the racing line too hard. What I can`t stress enough is that the game heavily promotes a precise, technical driving that F1 racing sport really is. In all other racing games I found myself much better of a virtual driver after few hours of F1_2010. In my opinion that ultimately makes the physics of this game very good. In short, much more realistic than say SHIFT1 but a bit easier that say rFactor. The settings of suspension, engine, brakes, aerodynamics and tyres are above acceptable. There are certainly enough settings to tune the car directly to one`s desires, especially if one has specific driving style. Every and each one of them makes a difference in how the car steers, reacts. The tyres also make a big difference on the road, changing how good the driving is. This is directly connected to the way in which the car drives on dry, semi-wet or wet surface. I can honestly say that the driving really gives satisfaction and going lap after lap doesn`t get dull at all. The races are very intensive and tiring (hich is a good thing for a semi-sim). What doesn`t really satisfy me is the simplicity of the settings. They do not reflect the real thing too good, and the technical help of "what does what" feels a bit short. It doesn`t succeed in explaining the whole deal of tuning a F1 car, easily causes the user to be disguided. Still, there are some curious additional features as developing packets through the racing career season which make it even more interesting. Career. It is very interesting. Player has few options on how he wants it to go. First he selects the team, then gives an interview, then he goes onto the first circuit. I have to say the interview thing doesn`t really interest me. It is too shallow. Every race can be customized in multiple choices such as AI difficulty, physics difficulty, race lenght and rules. Every race has objectives a player must accomplish to satisfy the team but the career goes on to next race independetly of that. If a player accomplishes those objectives, he can find himself choosing from the multiple opposite team offers from stronger opponents. Sound FX and music. Music I find to be good. Doesn`t get "noisy" nor it even attempts to get in the way. Just sits in the background exactly as it should. SoundFX is less what I was hoping for. Given that I have an average set of soundcard and headphones. The engine sounds are a bit "squeaky" and the maximum revs sound doesn`t reflect anything like in the real life. Tyres don`t sound too good either. During the race though other cars make the experience better, especially in closed circuits (like Monte Carlo). Good overall. Graphics. Very good. The reflections are something special, the cars look exactly how they should. There are tyre tracks on the circuit, the circuits themselves are above ok. I find the lightning a bit dull though, never was blinded by sunlight for example. Where the game really shines is the rainy weather - it all looks really beatiful like in any other racing video game (GT5 comes close). The driver`s visor ofcourse gets wet from the water, especially when closely following the car in front. In sunny weather - ok, in rainy weather - full immersion. Multiplayer. First thing - a good ISP means a good game. This game`s online code is a-ok. Any lags are that of individual player, if ever. Very small number of players. One has to really search if wants to find anything more than a simple arcade-likfe 3 lap race. Better to find some friends earlier and organise something closed. Not very wide range of online race options. I rarely play online because there is rarely a possibility of experiencing something good. Maybe the biggest downside of this game. Not satisfied. Game "programming quality". Very good. In the first few weeks after the release many things were buggy, along with framerate problems. Currently the game is mostly fixed, though the "pit-bug" where your driver has to wait for others to leave the pit stop persists. Besides that, no crashes, no controller compatibility problems. Wide range of options overall. Nevertheless, this alone makes that the game can`t be perfect. Recommended.
