The main game is solid though it dragged on a bit too long. I otherwise liked it a lot and especially recommend playing the DLCs which help flesh out the storyline. It's well worth playing even if it isn't a perfect 10. I'll also add that I had already played this on my PS4 back in 2016 which was pretty wonky and had terrible performance. Playing it in 2026 on a modern PC is a completely different experience.

Amazing game. I haven't played all that many JRPGs but I'll easily put this up there with my favorites like Chrono Trigger.

Perfectly handled sequel for those who played the originals. I played through those games multiple times but hadn't touched them for decades and this was the perfect way to remember them.

I adored Super Ghouls n Ghosts on the Super Nintendo and completed it countless times back in 1992/1993. I'm a big fan of platformers (and played most of the well known ones) but SGnG was always my number 1 game in that genre. This game is genuinely on par with that and is now possibly my new all-time favorite platformer. Regarding difficulty, it really isn't that hard once you figure out how to play it. People said the same thing about Dark Souls but GnG is only difficult in the same sense. If you like challenging games like DS then you could do a lot worse than taking a chance on this one. I'm 48 years old and if I can play this game then so can you. Don't be a n00b.

Pretty decent game with a cool setting and storyline. I'll dock a couple of points for its poor performance on PC which gets really bad during certain chapters. But it seemed fine before the latest patch so hopefully a future update will fix that. It's also not as 'woke' as some people make it out to be. At the worst, it's a bit childish with a 'rich people bad' kind of message but I was also young enough to think like that at one point. Combat is honestly also too simplistic but that's really only a small part of the experience. Fine game overall though and I had fun with it. Edited: I've now finished the game and I honestly have to lower the score even more. The later stages perform so poorly that the game becomes borderline unplayable even on high-end PCs. It's an easy 7-8 if you're playing on console but I simply cannot recommend it on PC in its current state.

One of those few games that I'll happily give top marks. They had the deck stacked against them after the movies since it felt weird to accept new versions of those same characters. But I ended up finding the game versions even better than in the movies.

Okay game in most regards but ultimately quite forgettable. It's still worth playing if you can get it for cheap and have nothing else. But I had grown quite tired of it near the end. The main thing it had going was a pretty good gameplay loop. But the story and characters weren't doing it for me.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart9

Absolutely loved the game. Insomniac's games have sometimes been a bit hit or miss for me but Rift Apart is fantastic in almost every way. Excellent characters with a good storyline and gameplay. The only slight miss were those puzzle levels with Clank. I get that they wanted to break up the gameplay a bit but I wasn't feeling it.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales5

It's a lesser game than the original Spider-man. Both games are 'fine' but I find them awfully bland in terms of characters and storyline. This one suffers more from that as Miles has even less character than Spidey in the first games. I know many people love them but they're not for me.

It's not Insomniacs best but it was pretty alright. My biggest issue with the game is that it's a bit too 'wholesome' for my tastes which makes it a bit bland. The gameplay loop is also fine but just not anything special.

A really nice game that harkens back to old school horror games of the 90s. I genuinely liked the story and appreciate that it doesn't rely on cheap jumpscares but is rather suspenseful and creepy. It may have some technical drawbacks but I will happily recommend it to anyone interested in it.

It's a poor man's Mass Effect mixed with a poor man's God of War. It's by no means a bad game overall as there is much to like about it. The storyline and script are pretty decent but the delivery is poorly directed, for example. And the aspects that make up actual gameplay are lacking in terms of map design and UI. I finished the game though and liked most of it quite a bit. If I could look past the issues then it would have been a 7 or 8.

If you can maintain and troubleshoot your own computer then it is an excellent game with beautiful visuals. You might want to stick with the console version otherwise. In spite of also being developed for the consoles, it is a PC game through and through. You also want to make sure that have at least 1gb video card and run a 64-bit operating system. You will need it to enable the 'large texture cache' option which resolves the texture pop-ins that people complain about. It needs to be said that most of the 0 and 1 scores are from people who couldn't get it running properly. AMD, in particular, had some problems getting the correct driver out for this game. Once the issue has been fully resolved then it shouldn't factor into your buying decision. Personally, I think it's id's best and most beautiful game so far.

It is the very definition of an OK game. I would probably say it's a 6.0-6.5 game (rather than a 7) but since I can't give it a 6.5 then I suppose it's fair to nudge it up a little. Just don't believe the hype because it's neither fantastic nor terrible. It's been popular to hate this game for almost 10 years now so ignore the so-called 'professional reviewers' that are just jumping on the bandwagon. I don't want to sound like I'm defending this game too much because I only wanted to point out the dishonesty of the popular media. Maybe you'll like it and maybe you won't but it is in no way deserving of the hate that it gets. If all games were held to the same standard as DNF then anything from Bioshock to Halo would be getting 4s and 5s. Just wait for price drops before buying. It may not be worth 60$ but it is worth 20-30$ for those interested in the hell it went through getting here. Chances are that you'll enjoy at least some parts of it.
