While it doesn't deserve the hate it's gotten, this Pokemon installment is somehow both satisfying and disappointing at the same time. On one hand, we have some interesting new Pokemon designs, fun Gigantamax raids, very refreshing gym mechanics, and a fairly beautiful region. On the other hand, we have lazy Pokemon designs, dated and rushed graphics, an extremely simplistic storyline that even a child could predict, and a Dynamax mechanic during some battles that barely does anything in my opinion. Therefore, while I had fun playing it, I would only recommend this installment to true fans of the franchise that can look past all of the issues.

This is honestly what I wish the Resident Evil 1 Remaster was. The story was captivating despite it being a zombie game, to which there are many of, and the gameplay was tense and strategic forcing me to consider how to conserve ammo. My only issue is the aiming, for while the game controls well, I usually like to play shooters on PC so that I can aim more precisely with a mouse rather than having to keep adjusting a joystick, although that's just a personal preference. Overall, The Resident Evil 2 remake is a must-have for any fan of the horror genre and/or zombie stories.

After playing this game, I was honestly a bit underwhelmed by the experience. The art style and story are the best part of the experience, creating a creepy abandoned atmosphere in the style of the old cartoons. My issues come with the gameplay as the puzzle segments are a bit dull with not too many scares occurring while the action sections are just repetitive with each encounter mainly consisting of a cycle of hitting the enemy and then running after taking too much damage. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone interested in the atmosphere rather than the actual gameplay.
