I feel embarrassed for Bungie as a studio for this game. Idk. It’s just not for me, I guess. Clunky, ugly, sweaty, and bland. I loved Halo, Destiny. I love the Division and the dark zone. I love Arc Raiders and Hell Divers. Marathon isn’t just a huge miss IMO.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown5

The TL:DR = Game starts out fun, but wears its welcome out around the 60% mark. To the point where you don’t care about finishing it. For a “AAA” + $40 Metroid, it’s very buggy. Stuff doesn’t spawn in. Audio cuts out. Some of the challenges and puzzles are just not entertaining. I love good challenges & puzzles in these games, but some of these were so boring and overly extended that I found myself just not caring enough about them. I found myself continuing to try a puzzle or challenge, stop, and say to myself “Man, I just don’t care about this enough to continue trying it.” This is the main critique for this game. It’s not that the puzzles, challenges, & bosses are too hardcore. They’re just hard, not enjoyable, and not rewarding. Doing all this work just to have basic metroidvania mechanics and features is ridiculous. It ultimately led to me getting to the 90% complete mark and giving up on the game. The endgame challenges and bosses are just so convoluted and not entertaining that I just gave up and moved on to a different game. At first I really enjoyed this game. But once you get to the midway point, it really starts wearing out it’s welcome. The save trees should’ve been the fast travel points for the entire game. There’s not enough fast travel spots in this game for the first 80% of the game. Root of the Wak-Wak should be an opening ability.

Destiny 2: Renegades1
Dec 3, 2025
Renegades is the expansion that I lost all hope for Destiny to make a comeback and for Bungie to redeem themselves. The legendary campaign felt more like a legendary strike back when there was three more tiers above legendary. This is just such a disappointment from a franchise I loved. This “expansion” came with less content than the seasons use to come with. It’s just more low-effort slop as Edge of Fate was and a continuation of the downfall since TWQ. I can’t watch it slowly die like this anymore. I’m out.

My only complaint about 3 is that the entire game is designed for a co-op experience. Which is fine. But when you’re playing solo like my first play through, the AI teammate will run into a room and point out the solution for the puzzles before I can take the challenge in.

Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate0
Jul 17, 2025
I love Destiny. It’s my favorite game of all time. But the new leadership of Bungie has ruined this franchise. I tried the new mission, reflected on how much I love this game, and uninstalled it from my PS5. They completely sunset all of the gear veteran players have earned - reinventing all of their systems and loot. The largest issue for me wasn’t even the complete reset - it was the reset coming with no content or effort. The precedent made by this studio and all of their expansions for Destiny have come with new destinations filled with lost sectors, public events, quests, secrets, and exploration. The expansions came with multiple strikes and PvP maps. The expansions came with hundreds of new legendary gear items and cosmetics to chase. The annual package deal of Destiny content came witha new raid, a reprised raid from the DCV, two new dungeons, seasonal events, and four seasons/episodes of side content to sustain the audience until the next year. Edge of Fate and it’s year of content is coming with two “Shadowkeep or Rise of Iron” sized expansions and only includes two campaigns, a new destination completely void of activities, a single raid, a single dungeon, and about five archetypes of new weapons and armor to chase. It should be noted that both Shadowkeep and Rise of Iron came with a lot more content than Edge of Fate. I really hope the new leadership of this studio is replaced. I really want to comeback to my favorite game one day. I’ll comeback when Destiny is being produced by people that are passionate about producing it and a studio that is willing to invest time and resources into making it a great experience.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 3310

Expedition 33 is the best AAA ( “AAAA” ) game I’ve played in 5 years. It’s the first time in this decade I’ve found a game that has me biting at the bit to play it on my way home from work. It’s a rad take on old school turn-based RPG’s like FF7, FF8, Chrono Trigger, & Legends of Dragoon. The amount of content and the depth of that content is ridiculous. I’ve currently completed the main campaign and I’m starting into the endgame - I’ve got 79hrs played and 66% of the game **** most amazing part of this fantastic game is that it was made by only a handful of developers. This game is a warning the the entire gaming community that the expectations for these corporate studios is changing.

Assassin's Creed Shadows1

I made it probably 1/3 of the way through the game and have determined I will go no further. The action gameplay is super choppy, clunky, and bugged with the graphics/engine. The graphics and engine when being pushed just fall apart. Standing still and enjoying a sky box is gorgeous. As soon as you start moving and playing the textures and framing start falling apart. NPCs stuck in walls, buildings having walls or roofs disappearing, etc. Then there’s the absolute insulting ways they designed this world and story together completely dump of Japanese people, their culture, and their history. It’s like they just took aspects of all Asian cultures, languages, and history and said “All you Asians are all the same, right??” Beyond that the game is a 1000 square miles wild, but 1/2 an inch deep. Lots of places to explore with nothing to find. One of the worst aspects is the story and dialogue writing, which feels like they have the job to an elementary school kid to craft in an hour. Very, very shallow stuff. I couldn’t not recommend this game more and hope people can save some money by listening to these reviews.

This is a good game, but not as good as the first one. As part of this year’s Halloween games I played LN 1&2. I’ve played the first one a few times and this one only this once. This one seemed to be a little less smooth with the transversals and platforming. It just felt a little clunky compared to the first one. Each level has a lot more space to explore, but there’s no depth to these spaces as there’s nothing in them to find. This second game seemed like it didn’t have as many little secrets to find either. Still a fun platformer game for Halloween. It’s just not as good as the first one. I’m still looking forward to the third one.

I was really excited for this game as it was designed by old devs from Bungie. This game plays great, the gun play is awesome, and there’s fun to be had. Unfortunately, it’s jammed full of political propaganda, is very activist agenda driven, and that over shadows all of the good it had.

I found the finished game the exact same as the beta - Boring af gameplay akin to the depth of Destiny 2’s beta content, but this is the full game. Content that absolutely devoid of challenge or difficulty. Ridiculous levels of grinding for gear to push people into the price-gouging predatory cash shop. Audio and sound effects balancing issues. Sloppy feeling weapons and gun play. Terrible voice acting/dialogue. Endgame is very similar to Anthem and just repeats the campaign’s garbage at higher difficulties that your characters will easily walk through without effort. Not my type of game. But it was technically “free-to-play” as long as I refused to purchase anything out of the over priced store and I got about 20 or so hours of gaming out of it. But, it’s essentially a cash-grabbing mobile style game with better graphics and on gaming platforms.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape10
Jun 14, 2024
I’ve been playing Destiny since 2014. I’ve been super critical about the shallow content Bungie has been making for the franchise since TWQ. Bungie cooked with this expansion. This could be the DLC of the year. Bungie made the claim that their standards moving forward was going to be meeting the standards of The Witch Queen, The Taken King, and Forsaken - and let me tell you, they met that standard here. Idk what the future of the franchise looks like, but the finale of the light and darkness saga was epically fantastic.

This game was absolutely fantastic. My only complaint is it doesn't have a new game + to allow for cool builds with endgame loot. This game brings back the nostalgia of old school SNES gaming. It's a platformer, metroidvania, action, souls-like that offers the welcomed old-school difficulty & challenge of old SNES era gaming. It offers many puzzles, secrets, and tons of interesting boss fights. This game was my 2023 GOTY! I absolutely loved it.

I thought this expansion & year content was super solid. It wasn't as big or in-depth the previous expansion (Shadowkeep), but I felt that all the content was on par with other great Destiny expansions & content years. The new darkness sub-class is awesome - even tho it took Bungie a long while to **** raid (Deep Stone Crypt) was absolutely amazing offering cool & innovative mechanics and boss fight + top-tier loot.

I felt like the majority of complaints regarding this expansion & year of content could've been explained by Bungie finally acquiring the franchise ownership and getting their footing on what they plan on doing with it. The expansion itself had an Okay story campaign. It had a great raid experience & endgame loot. But by comparison to the expansion & annual pass content that came with the franchise's previous expansion (Forsaken), this one was very weak in terms of content quality & quantity.

Destiny 2: Lightfall1

LF came with a story that leads nowhere. A new destination that is void of content and life. A new super cringe NPC that looks & acts like Robocop had an affair with Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs, and this is their love child. A changed mod system that took away a lot of depth & made the experience super basic. The endgame Raid (Root of Nightmares) being laughably the franchise's easiest Contest mode clears & generally a mid raid experience. Usually the raids & contest mode clears are my favorite aspect of this franchise and it just came off as super bland and an easy clear for contest mode. The new sub-class is super fun, but the delivery was spoiled - as the studio made the entirety of the campaign about learning a new sub-class tutorial over delivering a story. Ultimately, this entire expansion & annual content that followed just seemed like filler content so the studio could extract another year of content from the Light & Darkness saga and didn't contribute to the story at all. Bungie stated they added another expansion in the saga to fully flesh out & deliver the story - but it seems that LF & the entire Y6's content could've not existed and the franchise wouldn't have been better or worse because of it. The one positive that came from LF's update was Bungie tuning the difficulty. Granted, it wasn't balanced & they're still working on that balance across all aspects of the game. But, it was a lot more akin to my memories of playing Destiny back before it became super casual. Since TWQ expansion ( for context TWQ expansion was Season 16, Lightfall is season 20, and The Final Shape being Season 24) Bungie has seemingly lost their passion/interest in producing this franchise. Each addition to the game comes with less content & more micro-transactions. The content that is being released is very shallow/soulless content by comparison to any other Bungie/Destiny release. Every season is a cookie-cutter experience, same as previous seasons. It's minimum effort content that has the depth of a heroic public event accompanied by maybe 4 hours of story content that's time gated & stretched out over the course of 13-15 weeks. Every content release or simple game patch seems to be released unfinished & requires the studio's Live Team to fix after launch. I really hope that the developers can make a comeback for this franchise in the future. But the current game is obviously not the studio's priority or interest ATM.

Oct 25, 2023
I absolutely loved this game. Fun RPG builds. Fun action game play. Difficult bosses & boss fight mechanics. The developer isn't AAA, so I'm not going to ding them on some quality things - but to that point Remnant 2 ran better than some AAA studios games I've played lately. These negative dings were just my experience with the networking. Co-op connections were clunky & I had to re-start the game app a lot due to the game acting weird or crashing. Not a whole lot, but it occurred.

I thought this game was a great action RPG, but a horrible Final Fantasy. The story was solid, cinamatics were rad, action game play is super fun. But, at the end of the day, I think it didn't meet that FF "feel". I think the developers should focus on making the game play more akin to previous FF games rather than trying to re-invent the wheel. Turn based combat. Wild animations for magic/summon castings. Play and control all characters in you party to combo attacks.

Very solid game. I hadn't played this franchise since OG PS1 days. 6 was a good time. My only issue with it was just an issue with the franchise's design - something that many people are probably use to and it's "part of thee game." But, I'm not a fan of the mission based system. Just felt like I had no other options but to re-play a I've already done mission I've already done or move on to the next. With no "side mission" content, there's not a lot of options to do when you get to a mission that is too difficult at your currently level/gear & you need to level/gear up.

Diablo IV6
Oct 25, 2023
Diablo 4 was my first of the franchise. The initial campaign, leveling experience was 10/10. But once you reach the "endgame", you quickly find that there is no endgame except a grind hamster wheel. The entire endgame is leveling from lvl 50 - lvl 100 & min/max your builds to run through the game's dungeon content more efficiently. Each world tier (difficulty) increase makes all your gear obsolete. So each of the world tiers (1-4) it's really just a waste to invest into your gear, as it'll all be worthless in another 20 levels when you go to the next WT. To add to the lack of endgame, after LvL 50 the game makes each level increase from 50-100 a gnarly exp grind - each level requires a lot of experience points to level up by comparison to the 1-50 level grind. And just a few levels into a new WT and the game gets real stingy loot drops that can improve your character. So, the game play loop for the endgame just becomes: empty your inventory, grind nightmare dungeons until your inventory is full of loot, sort through it to ultimately just dismantle all of it - as non of the items have a high item power than your current gear, repeat. This gets boring very quickly.
