****IGNORE ALL 0 REVIEWS******* Here's the actual skinny on the game. Graphically it looks better than any of the former titles.
Combat is a bit slower than 2. But still fun.
Characters are decent, 7/10
The skill tree is a welcome addition. Now if you're looking for something like Origins skip this title. But if you're looking to play something akin to kingdoms of Amalur, this is you're game.
As a long time fan of the Armored Core series, I feel extremely disappointed with this game. It's not because it's bad, but because From Software basically decided to go with the Soulslike difficulty. I know people will be saying that's what they're known for. But way before Demon Souls, was Armored Core (From Software). Instead of having two game lines now, one for the Souls fans and one for the others the difficulty made this game unplayable for a casual gamer. The tutorial boss alone is on par with mid to end bosses from previous Core games. If you have hours to invest and "get gud" this is the game for you, if not don't bother. Pros. Great graphics, same controls as older titles, and the arcade mech building action that made the series good originally. Cons. The difficulty, no way to lower this at all.
I say it all the time. Resident Evil 6 is one of the easiest to pick up and play RE titles. The controls, camera, and graphics are tons above even the beloved REmake. The gunplay mechanics leaps above any shooter at the time. Most people's biggest gripe, that's it's not survival horror, isn't fitting. Resident Evil started becoming action suspense as far back as 2. Don't let negative reviews keep you from playing a great couch co-op title.
For a first game, it's not terrible.. however it's not great. Graphics wise it's not comparable to WWE. Gameplay wise it feels too sluggish to be the arcade wrestling game that was promised.
Game is fun, but has very little replay value. Each house has a special quest. But other than that nothing changes. Game even on harder difficulty is still way too easy.
Not the worst wrestling game out there, lives up to what I expected. The only real issue is, it feels less arcady and slower than I feel it should with its graphics. It lacks a lot of the creation suite items of the WWE games, but is far better than the TNA game on PS2/PS3 era.
This game was simply amazing. As a long time fan of the spider, they captured everything. The web slinging down the streets is physics based, no more swinging from nothing. You can change speeds by releasing the web at different times. The combat felt fluid. The combat system is very much like a Batman Arkham game but more forgiving for missing the perfect timing window. The story line is amazing. The ending was wrought with pain and suffering. From top to bottom this game is definitely a 10 out of 10. I'm not sure the people posting negative reviews even played the same game. I played both this and Miles Morales on my ps5 and framerate differences were minimal. The reflections and graphics did look better on Miles but that didn't effect the game play. I never has the issue that one person is complaining about, the framerate drop after using a web. Nothing about this game felt sluggish at all. The other complaint about playing as MJ for a whole 15 minutes must have never read a Spiderman comic in their life. The story was almost always involving MJ in some way. As for the quips, another person who's never read a Spiderman comic and just goes by what the Fox and MCU movies did. If you know what to expect from a Spiderman that's true to the comics then you're in for a treat, if you're expecting Toby McGuire or MCU Spiderman then you won't be as happy
I went into this game with extremely high expectations, which may have jaded my experience. The game isn't near as fun or as good as the predecessor. It really doesn't expand on the previous title either. Main difference is the villain and a few abilities. While the original Spiderman main story took me probably 24 hours to complete this one took less than 12. Certain things in Spiderman the original made me keep wanting to do side missions, however this game had little replay value in my eyes
I've played my share of games that deserve a 0 to 3 rating. This game is definitely not one of them. People who are complaining about graphics went into this game expecting something looking like Elder Scrolls. This game was never meant to look like that. Its a comic book style art style akin to Borderlands. Others are complaining about the narrator. This I can understand because I didn't understand at first, until I realized it's basically telling the tale of a Kung Fu master who saves his world. This style of story telling isn't often used in games and people are used to fleshed out NPC characters. This game focuses on the main character and NONE of the NPCs though. I found the gameplay to be on par with all open world rpg's. That being said it does get repetitive. But this doesn't make the game less fun. I can't stress enough that people going into this game expecting a visual masterpiece instead of a comic or cartoony art style are the reason for 90 percent of the low reviews. The rest are people who don't understand the style. They weren't prepared for a narrative instead of normal ARPG.
Pros
Nostalgia
The best diablo game made.
Translated to controller great
Atmosphere Loot Cons
No same console coop.
Once past the nostalgic value the game is just diablo 2.
Graphics aren't updated as well as they could be
Multiple bugs and glitches.
I'm going to start this review with a truth, I was never a hardcore Halo fan like some. In truth I played the 1, 2, 3, and reach mainly as something to play for same console coop when I had friends come over. Then the money grab happened. For those that don't know Bungee originally had designed Halo to be a trilogy. Microsoft seeing the money from one of their top franchises drying up said no make more. Bungee bought the company back and formed the LLC behind Destiny and Destiny 2, part of this buy out was the agreement to make two more Halo games for Microsoft before turning the game rights over to Microsoft. Hence Halo 3:ODST and Halo Reach. After this I stopped playing Halo period. I own a copy of Halo 4, it came with my Xbox 360. It's never been played. Then launch day of Infinte comes out, it's launched on my Games Pass. I decide to give it a go. I was completely surprised by the game. It's amazing for a shooter. Pros
Graphics are above par
Open world
Story is decent
Enemy types are numerous. Weapons are numerous. Cons
Chief......
Chief has no personality at all. That is terrible for a protagonist that's spanned 6 games. Give the man more dialogue than one line answers. Flesh him out. Make me care about him. I cared what happened to the Spartans on Reach. I find myself caring about Chief less than I cared about a pimple in my teens.
.I completely understand the concept behind this game. However, the game went from great areas to extremely dull areas and this occurred at unacceptable intervals. When doing a story driven narrative you have to mix up the story with something to keep players hooked. I found the story to be basic. I found I couldn’t connect with any of the characters. I found the switching from game play to basically a TV show to drag the game down to a crawl. The action sequences were great, but when they throw more story at you than these sequences the gameplay becomes like trying to wade through frozen molasses. A story driven narrative that tries to have action for its game play NEEDS to balance the story and action. This game falls flat of any semblance of that balance. I've been a gamer for 30 of my 39 years, and starting with Chrono Trigger on SNES I've leaned highly towards a game with a story even if the gameplay suffers, IE the turn based RPG style. But even those keep you on your toes with random encounters. This game would have made a great movie, or even a decent visual novel style game. If you want an almost perfect example of how this style of game can work play Control.
Same recycled garbage as mafia II definitive. Basically game runs smooth for about 10 minutes then shuts down. One of only 3 games I've had this issue with, the other two being mafia 2 definitive and LA Noire. At least with the last two it takes hours before it shuts down. Don't believe anyone giving this game above a 4 rating. It's broken to the point of unplayable.
Pros Anime style action rpg. Combat-while not as stylised as say devil may cry the Combat is fluid and combos are easy to pull off. It maintains a level of difficulty during Combat with status effects and "smart" enemies. Storytelling- this title does not shy away from something that's fallen out of favor recently, the cutscene. Instead of having next to no story, or a story that you have to discover through lore, books, etc, this game does a JRPG classic and lays it out for you through cutscenes. Play time- seriously with titles like resident evil 7 taking me about 12 hours, resident evil Village about the same, and other games taking less. A single player game someone has a strong 20 hours in game play for just one character is amazing. Cons The story- like most anime it has too much to the plot. The anime- there is a tie in to the game to the anime where you have to wait for the next anime episode to continue the side quest. The cutscenes- yes it is a pro for someone like me. But for many who want nothing but action the sheer amount of cutscenes are going to be a turn off. The bond system- the team bond system seems broken. My individual bond levels are nothing lower than 5 but the team level is 3.
While far from it's predecessors this game is no where near as bad as they say. The game play is fun, the leveling system is amazing probably the best in the entire series, and the story isn't terrible. These people complaining about the game are more complaining that its not commander shep and the original crew. The graphics were the only b big issue. And people didn't pan fall out new vegas with it's game breaking glitches etc.
I wanted to like this game.. I love the Naruto games. But this game is dismal in comparison. Why? The story is lacking, the characters aren't there really.. only a few to unlock compared to Naruto and it's massive list. So many anime characters left untouched.
Best 2k wrestling game to date. Still missing create a finisher though. Story mode is actually really fun, and the addition of specialist abilities is okay. Played story mode and won really no issues. It is kind of grindy though. Also really miss the old thq create systems with sliders and more **** realism is lacking on the lifting etc. Never saw any of the glitches mentioned previously. But like all sports games, wwe doesn't need a yearly release.. just a roster update yearly. Unless something drastic changes won't be buying 2k20
There is no story to spoil.. it's a third person take on a Moba.. the difference is it's all legit mythological gods. I've played many Moba games on PC, and a few on consoles.. smite transitions the best. The third person angle makes assassin's worth playing. And there's multiple game modes. Free to play, non pay to win, what more could you want?
NOT Road Rash..... I was super excited when seeing this game to rent thinking it said Road Rash. Get it home to find out it was Road Rage. No big deal my mistake. Put the game in and sure enough it's terrible.. the hit box is horrible, controls are sluggish.
By far One of the top 5 MMORPG's of all time. For those who care my MMO history I started on EQ, and have been playing a new title every month or two since. For those looking for WoW GO AWAY. This game is not for you. With a job system not class system one character can literally do multiple "classes" (big props to FF XI for doing that in the MMO World. and Tactics for introducing it) Strong gameplay and a decent world make this game extremely playable.
Having played all Naruto titles on consoles I can say this one is one of the best. I miss some aspects of 3 that were taken out but that aside the game is solid and has some great play.
This game is completely generic. There is nothing that sets it apart from any number of FPS titles. Yes they tried to add some MOBA aspects to it by adding abilities and items. But they did not add leveling to it really. There is no damage scaling, very little to do after getting your ultimate, and even worse some of the worst balance in a game. Several characters are gods while others are extremely under powered. I had high hopes for this title.
I see too many people comparing this to the generic team fortress wannabe OverWatch. That being said let's get into the skinny of it shall we? This is is exactly what was promised. A MoBA meets Borderlands. There is a long list of Characters to unlock, each with different upgradable skills. On top of the skill upgrades you get DNA upgrades plus unlocking more to add to the DNA strand by progressing with a character. The single player is fun and decent and unlocks a plethora of stuff by completing. The online is really good. Gearbox advertised and deliver exactly what they said.
While not a bad game, and tons better than Doom 3. It felt short. On Average this game could have done more in length of levels. The ending was not a surprise, nor was it being left open for part 2. Pros Fast Paced-This is not your CoD. There is limited health items, no shield, no cover really. It's an in your face slaughterfest true to Doom. Visually great-Graphics are not laggy at all and I did not notice any frame rate drop. Weapons!!!-All the Doom favorites are accounted for each with a new spin adding mods. Cons Short Story- Doom hasn't been known for storyline but with this title there was much more that could have been done. Weapons- How can it be a pro and a con? Same Doom weapons and the chainsaw and BFG have really limited ammo and no mods.
Alright it's early 2015 and I've not got about 2 years into this game. I've tried other MOBA games including Dota 2, HoN, and a few more. I keep coming back to LoL for a few reasons. One the champions seem the most balanced, with a few RARE exceptions. The community is ton's better than the others. Riot continues to update the game, adding features and testing ideas. While the gameplay is almost always the same, the opponents differ massively. Yes you lose the gold and levels you earn every game, but if you are decent you have no issue regaining them the next.
I hate reviewers and here's why. This game is an MMORPG, it's designed for grinding/repetition along with an RNG loot system. I beta tested this game, then pre-ordered the title. I was disappointed with one fact which is what kept this game from getting a 10, the beta test characters move over to the game which they DON'T tell you when you tested. So my max level beta character, ended up having to be started over. The story is exactly what I'd expect from Bungie, the game play is stellar, and the PvP is awesome. Sorry to the naysayers but you have crap internet or are playing at the wrong times.
To answer PKstormy, you payed 40 dollars for EU and EW, it's both games in one. They added medals, research, the terrorists, and more to the game. Like EU I love this title, it's brilliantly done, with enough difficulty to make Dark Souls fans cringe. Don't like to die? Skip this game. Love a game where you need your mind, and tactics then well you get it
Lack of Strategy? People are really idiots, it's not a base builder command and conquer rip off strategy game, neither were the original X:Com's in the 90's. This game is a squad based tactical RTS. You expand your HQ by choosing what to build, what to research. You must pick what is more important to you, do you upgrade a sniper's weapon, or your heavy's? Do you use a grenade/rocket and lose the valuable resource or do you stick it out and fight. Do you move in and fork or do you group. Losing your troops can be hard, and this game is unforgiving on the difficulty, the reason being is that the enemy isn't stuck to your limits. They are advanced aliens after all. I own several copies of this title, and the replay value is actually decent. There are two ways to advance each soldier, multiple ways to complete each mission as well. Actually I've done 30 missions and haven't lost a single troop, some have been injured though.
Borderlands fans rejoiced when announced, and then wept after purchasing and playing this title. The story from 1 and 2 was epic. The gameplay unique and fun, considering the age of realistic shooters, we have an off the wall one like this series that scores high. Then comes this game, not only does it seem off that some weapons in the PRE-SEQUEL aren't in 2 which makes poor sense, the main added feature, the butt bomb, is rarely used. Add the fact that Crap...I mean Clap Trap is the worst choice for multiplayer, and add characters that don't feel like heroes, and a semi **** storyline well you get the point. For fans of the series and added over the top violence, pick up this game, if you're new to Borderlands, don't get this game..
Allow me to start by saying this is not the best shooter. While it's gameplay is far better than CoD, it lacks on some very important aspects. PRO's: same console co-op, decent storyline, decent gunsmithing, controls aren't bad. Cons: Same console Co-op is very limited, you're a soldier yet you have to unlock weapons to use in campaign, mostly stealth based. For those who don't know, UBISOFT has recently gone on with some very poor games, this is probably the starting point for this.
I feel as a long time Diablo player it's time for a realistic review of this game. I own 3 copies of this title, PC PS3 and Xbox360. I also own the RoS expansion for the pc and Xbox. Down to the nitty gritty, if you come into this game expecting a new style RPG (IE Skyrim) you will be disappointed. There is very little to character customization because you're selecting a pre-made character. Picture Baldur's Gate and selecting a pre con. So as you level the stat points are instantly distributed to what you need. The item crafting in the game prior to Ultimate Evil Edition can be a little tedious with the need for pages and tomes. Now on to what I'd consider the Pro's of the game. It's a great dungeon crawler, on harder difficulties it's almost impossible to Solo unless you know what you're doing down to a T. The randomization of the drops and hidden locations, quests, etc make the game highly replayable. Another thing that makes the base game replayable is the Paragon system. Because the level cap without RoS is lower, you still gain "levels" which transfers over to ALL characters. The story isn't bad, actually it's better than 1 and 2 in my opinion.
Alright, lets start with the pros of this game compared to others. A more in-depth character creation. This means you don't have to look like Goku with red hair like in a previous title. Secondly, instead of completely rehashing the anime, the story adds to it by making subtle changes where you have to fix them. Now for the cons. The online mode has been down for a week and a half, or at least tells me its inaccessible. I've tried on a gold and silver xbox live account. Second, the grinding. Everything is RNG(random number generator based) so if you want a specific item or move prepare to grind for it for hours. For instance there is a quest for Vegeta where he wants a specific Z soul, I've literally done the same shard for 7 hours of play time, the item he wants is the only quest reward I don't have, and still haven't received it. The group system is horrid, you can't take in a party to the story line, so if you're having trouble with it prepare to grind out several levels. All in all the game would be a great MMO if it actually allowed MMO style play. Also allowed the entire item list to be crafted.
Ok, I bought Diablo 3 for the console release day. I was thrilled with it until I came across needing pages and tomes for smithing and jewel crafting. A few months ago I started playing the game on pc with a friend, and realized everything I had been missing from pc to console. I preordered Ultimate Evil edition mainly just to get the 5th act and crusader. But was more than pleasantly surprised with blizzard revamping the entire game to be 99% closer to the pc version. Adding stuff to the items, smithing, a mail and gift system, and more. Basically they took everything I disliked about the console version threw it away and added what made the pc version great. I've been rating and reviewing games on here for a while now and this is one of the few I've given a perfect score.
Unfortunately, I at one time loved the Halo series, so it was inevitable that I would eventually get the 3rd installment in the series. Now let's breakdown what an utter piece of crap this game was and why 2700 other users on this site need to be sterilized so they can't breed. To utter a term coined by one Yahtzee Croshaw, (who I normally adamantly disagree with) This game is a spunk gargle wee wee. Not only is there little to no chance of dying, because just hide til your shields replenish, there are no real threats in the game. The title itself looks more like halo 2 than a next gen title like it was, the physics are really screwed up, picking a turret up slows you down but you still jump like their is reduced gravity. The storyline wasn't as good as the predecessors, This game was designed for the 13 year old kids to get a headshot and then talk crap to series gamers. I'd say get this game only to see what needs to be changed in the new games coming out. Once again its up to us to change the industry, buying a 59.99 expansion like madden 15, or Halo 5, just isn't something I'm willing to do. Some argue the online for this game is what defines it. Unfortunately for me, online isn't what makes a game, the play, story, and characters make the game.
How to start a review about a game genre I don't quit understand? Simple stick to the facts. Yes while most games now no longer operate on the NES/SNES difficulty curve, most games require some sort of thinking. Other EA sports games also require a more pro active style game play. Madden on the other hand has offered little to no steps forward in game play, along with the fact that the computer auto catches the ball for you, all you do is run, and throw, The fact that 39 people actually liked this game, and 24 other were indifferent shows the level of gamers in this age. As long as people keep shelling out 59.99 USD for hunks of garbage like this game franchise, the companies like EA, Microsoft, Treyarch, and more won't strive to make a better game.
Okay, admittedly I'm not a huge fan of Bethesda games, but when I heard **** that mixed Borderlands and Fallout 3, I was excited. After reading reviews and talking to other gamers, I finally picked up this game. Immediately the let down began after loading the game. The so called co op, is nothing more than mini side quests, you can't even play the main story co-op. That was the first of many other let downs this game offered me, The enemies are literally bullet sponges, the normally weak enemies that in most games are 1 head shot, take almost a full magazine in this game or 2 shot gun blasts at point blank to the face, The harder enemies can take 5 HE grenades plus more than 1 full mag. Lets move on to the damage, the enemies do what seems to be a lot higher damage to you than you do to them, this includes the melee that when they hit you, you fly backwards almost dead from 1 kick where as it takes you 3 or 4 to do the same. Yes, the wingstick, a glorified glaive, is a good weapon and can 1 hit most enemies, it's in desperately short quantities. This being said I'd recommend saving the 9 bucks this game is used and getting something like Skyrim or Oblivion
