A flashy, fast and cool experience Exoprimal has players blasting away at the dinosaur hordes in their thousands. At its core the game is a lot of fun, but it suffers from the usual live service game downsides. How long will it be supported? How will the balancing change? These and other questions can really temper the otherwise fun shooty dinosaur filled experience.

Matches are absolute dino-might but the progression system misses the mark. There’s a lot to love here, but the story gets in the way of the best bits. [Issue#31, p.90]
Exoprimal is quite fun and shows much potential to be something more. However, the fact that it only has one game mode currently makes it quickly fall into repetitiveness.

I got this game because I loved the song ExoHuman. Casey Edwards is just that good of a composer, and paired with the vocals of Robin Adams makes for such a cool song. I came into Exoprimal not knowing what to expect since there was so much negativity surrounding it online. What I got was a great gaming experience. It was so fun fighting all the dinosaurs, trying out different exosuits and aiming for a good score. What surprised me the most was the story. It was genuinely very good.

Now this is the game that has been my most satisfying experience on Gamepass Ultimate! Lots of other reviews so I’ll keep it short bit sweet just like Sabrina Carpenter. This game is fast and fun, dinosaurs are ferocious, opponents are balanced and boy oh boy to the dinosaurs bleed a lot for a rated T game! If Jurassic Park and a hero shooter had a baby it would be Exoprimal! I have to subtract 1 point for the most obvious problem love service games have: paywall for all of the characters. There’s literally a lock icon on the characters players can’t use. Bummer. On the bright side the characters available are all fun and serviceable. I even got MVP in my first game as an assault character Deadeye! Great game!Glad to see Capcom is still churning out high quality hits!

My beloved capcom was pulling out hit after hit until theydecied to do the most desperate attempt to a live service game. When I first saw Exoprimal in its first trailer I tought it was a very creative and amazing take on the Left for Dead style of game. But instead of simplicity and fun the game tries to pull a lot with very little. Its actually a pvp game were sometimes the teams actually face each other. and a very bad one in a world already full of heromediocres hero shooters exoprimal is another one but maybe even worse. Besides the fast and responsive controllers (like, at least capcom always do this right) there is nothing else that you can salvage in this train wreck. Visually its so bland. Really an art style that just exists. Musics I can't even remember. A full 70 dollar price game that makes you grind like some chinese mobile gatcha unless you pay even moreto unlock all the suits. and honestly, if this wasn't already a almost a war crime the game itself can't be saved. its just boring. I was really stupid for buying this digitally in the ps5. Because I would have it refunded for sure.

Take out your trusty armored umbrellas because the forecast is cloudy with the chance of...dinosaurs?! To elaborate, this is a short abstract of the absurdly sounding Exoprimal. A multiplayer PvE/PvP title with not only handful of innovative game design instances and captivating story that requires activation of the gray brain matter, but also thousands of angry reptiles, who are more than ready to eat off your limbs and head. With time traveling, mischievous AI and many real-world parallels, this is truly a blast from the past! (pun intended)

We Got This Covered
Exoprimal makes a terrible first impression, but stick with it and it soon blossoms into a bonkers, senses-blasting, and ludicrously fun shooter. By the endgame, you'll be squaring off with thousands of ravenous raptors, rampaging T-Rexes, sniper Neosaurs, barrages of laser fire, and players popping off crazy ultimate moves. It's just a shame you have to grind through a very repetitive and limited opening to get there.

Anyone complaining about repetitive gameplay didn’t play long enough for it to open up. The more you play the more game modes and enemies you unlock. It’s brainless coop fun. What not could you ask for? Try it and you’ll understand.

At its most intense, Exoprimal is aakin to playing an EDF game without the accompanying performance issues. [Issue#388, p.100]

Finger Guns
Held up by its superb class system and the intrinsic elation that comes with melting prehistoric lizards with a railgun, Exoprimal is unfortunately let down by a lacklustre story offering, anemic number of modes and a question over its longevity. While those drawbacks will put some people off, those fond of firing a grenade right up a Stegosaurus’ hide will be laughing long into their dozens of hours of playtime.

The wild fight against dinosaurs and the opposing team offers a wide variety of classes, but becomes monotonous far too quickly.

Exoprimal will be a rollercoaster of surprises for the majority of players. Making your way through the fifty-or-so matches it takes to hit credits, experiencing all the spectacle on display in this curveball of a game, is in my opinion worth the cost of admission for Game Pass users, and perhaps at a discount for all others. It'll remain a presence on my PS5 home screen, for now at least.

Exoprimal is a prehistoric relic of its own making, and a harsh but necessary lesson for a developer who has been sitting atop the pile for far too long. Future seasons could salvage the flashes of excellence on display here, but I doubt players will stick around long enough for that to become a reality. And to think we could have had a new Dino Crisis instead.

I don't understand the hate since this does exactly what it sets out to do.

An impeccably made multiplayer dino shooter, Exoprimal has all of the right stuff, but, with only a single mode to play over and over again, it can get quite repetitive rather quickly. TGG – 7/ 10 AUDIO7/10 Somewhat okay tunes that soon fade into the background, perfectly fine voice work, perfectly loud and explosive sound effects and dino roaring. Perfectly fine. VISUALS 8/10 Capcom's RE Engine does the job once again, ensuring that Exoprimal looks quite marvellous as it spawns hundreds of prehistoric beasties into its world. PLAYABILITY 8/10 An immediate, pick-up-and-play shooter that proves consistently enjoyable, even after tens of hours of gameplay. Each exosuit is distinct, helping to mix things up. DELIVERY 6/10 At launch, Exoprimal has only one mode, and the story isn't exactly compelling enough to pull you through. Thankfully, the gameplay will keep you coming back.

Actually a really fun game, especially for a short brainless Dino slaughter season. Only problems the game have are the fact that there is only 1 Game mode (currently) which makes it seem a bit empty. Also the Customization is not really there. Yes you can build a little bit but can’t do stuff that really sticks out or changes the way of how to play that character

Sooo how did we get here? This came could and should have been the next overwatch but when over watch was good but instead we get a mess. A microtransactions mess. At full price. With extra live service **** full price. FULL PRICE unless it's on game pass where it's free. Play when free. Hard pass until then. Shane on capcom for ruining this fun cool dino robo romp! GREED :(

Game is ok, but becomes boring after a short while. Its very similar to other co-op game as well, nothing to make it stand out to other games. Will be higher rated if there are more content in future, but I can only give it a 4 for what is available now.
