Ambitious game, atrocious execution. Combat is insanely frustrating and difficult. For a space ship combat game its just not fun. All the extras outside of combat are a snoozefest. Don't waste your money like I did.

Awesome game. I'm not typing out everything I had before I realized I was reviewing the PC version. Seriously metacritic, why wasnt my text saved? Paragraphs gone when all I wanted was to switch from PC to PS5. Buy Crimson Desert, its awesome which is much more than I can say for Metacritics site design. Ughhhhh

How this piece of dookie got such glowing reviews is beyond me. The hack n slash gameplay is boring at best, the game CONSTANTLY interrupts you to over explain its insanely convoluted inner workings. I just found myself seeing red constantly because every time I felt like I was getting in to the flow of the game I was being railroaded in to going only certain ways only to have my game paused at every turn to pile on to the ever growing mountain of convoluted and confusing gameplay mechanics. Why do these games feel the need to one up each other with over complicated gameplay? It just leaves me feeling frustrated and annoyed that I wasted my time even trying to attempt to understand it. I want my damn time and money back

Excellent action JRPG. The exploration is fun, combat is fast paced and exciting and the art style is beautiful. Hard to go wrong with any YS game, they're all pretty excellent and YS X: Nordics lives up to the YS name.

What a disappointment. The minigames really hold this one back imo. Has some really interesting and fun concepts like the dressphere and dressphere grid, which essentially is just changing between job classes, and the fast paced ATB system but the frustrating and honestly boring mini games ruin it for me. I tried playing through this back in 2003 and just recently tried again after buying a PS Vita on eBay to replay old PS2 and PS3 games like FFX that had been ported to it and I still can't stay interested enough to want to continue playing this snooze fest. I'm feeling that same disappointment I did all the way back in 2003. Oh well :-/

A return to form for the Star Ocean series. If you like action JRPGs you will not be disappointed. Solid combat, vibrant colorful graphics, beautiful environments with lots of ground to cover and explore. Great character building skill and stat trees, neat looking weapons that you can actually see equipped when changed. Story is kinda cliche and run of the mill but I'm not complaining, its like comfort food almost. The game certainly isn't perfect, characters love to babble while traversing the terrain and for some mind bogglingly dumb reason you can't access the map or party menu while characters are yapping, but my gripes are really only minor. With the game being on sale for roughly 25 bucks right now on the Playstation store its an absolute steal.

I love open world games and I'm generally not a very picky gamer but I have a lot of complaints when it comes to this game. The way it was advertised made me think it was going to be an action game with a bit of stealth here and there. It is mostly a stealth game though and a very poorly executed stealth game at **** is extremely annoying navigating the map and finding places in this game. Depending on which faction you side with you will need to sneak around roughly 70% of areas or else you'll be fired upon and harrassed. Finding certain people and objectives in dense city areas with labyrnthine layouts will have you running around in circles for far too **** upgrade your blaster you need to hop aboard your ship but after I played a certain mission my ship was gone and I could not track it down. This was the last straw for me. I'm currently debating on whether or not to give this game another try or just delete it to free up hard drive space seeing as how I dropped so much money on it and all. Sunken cost fallacy at work I guess. My advice, don't bother with this one. It's a beautiful game graphically but in the end all it is is just a very nicely polished terd

Fairly solid JRPG. I really like the environments and high tech sci-fi mixed with traditional fantasy elements such as swords, magic, gems, armor, etc. At its price point its well worth it

I do actually love this game. Visuals are breathtaking and combat is extremely fun and engaging. Yes the dialogue is bad at certain points but not 100% of the time like a lot of these sensationilst overdramatic drama queens say it is. $70 well spent in my opinion.

I know this game got review bombed because of microtransactions or somerhing along those lines but honestly don't let that distract you from the fact this is actually a very solid action RPG. The graphics are on point, combat is fun and varied among the several different classes one can choose from to play as, but I will admit the story is where I find this game to lacking. It's not a terrible story but it is a bland kind of cookie cutter "chosen one vs. the big bad" kind of story. I'm giving this game a score of 10 to help offset all the knee jerk, emotional review bombing. It isn't fair to the creators and artists that put a lot of work in to this game. The greedy higher ups at Capcom are to blame for the shady microtransaction BS.
