Subnautica: Below Zero6
Feb 21, 2022
With this 2nd iteration, the game lost 2 major elements that made the first subnautica a very special experience: the element of surprise (with very few new game mechanics, it feels more like a dlc than an entirely new game) and the feeling of being stranded alone on a dangerous planet (here you will share most of the story with a par of npcs). It's still a decent game with a relaxing base building & exploration gameplay but throughout this 10-15h story, I have almost never felt this was a step forward for the franchise.

Ambitious rpg with lot of good ideas (fast travel with ambush system / Stealth & robbing mechanics / realistic setting / good survival mechanics... ) let down by a tedious fight system and an empty world. I gave up when I realized I had to wait the night to stealth kill sleeping unarmed enemies in order to progress the story. Combat is just too complicated and not fun imo. I also felt sorry for my poor dog who was clearly suicidal and always put himself between my sword and my opponent (basically every time I forgot or didn't have time to send him away)

First, as always, I am forced to comment on the stupid/hate score here. Fact: every year the game gets a little bit better. Even though the upgrades are probably not worth the price of the full game, it is impossible to rate this game below 5 imo, there is just too much quality & content here. Then, my honest review. This year, the new player's animations coupled with a revamped ball physics bring a lot more variety to the gameplay. The balance is also a lot better and I felt my central defenders - after trying the "step up" instructions - were at long last able to position themselves correctly. Unfortunately, it seems the opponent AI rarely use this tactic, defenders will just backpedal to cover any through pass and let you find an easy shooting position. For the record, I played career mode on legendary with Kaiserslautern and found the game a lot easier. I also chose the "strict" transfer option which proved to be a late game breaker. After 4 years, I managed to improved all my young players above 80, some wonderkids even reached 88. I won the bundesliga and reached the semi in the champion's league. So I finally got a lot money and was really looking forward to further improve my squad. But no, the game is basically over because the "strict" transfer option won't let me buy any player above 90. Sad, very sad. Finally, as a career mode player, i am a little bit disapointed as it is exactly the same as last year. On the plus side, it runs a lot better on ps5 with almost no loading time but there is still so much room for improvement. Interviews before game are so random, the strict transfer option does not really work, half of your academy player will have the bug "ridiculous thin arm + no number on shirt", player development is still OP for the 5 stars skills and wrong foot perks. And last but not least, every career playthrough will be identical. Don't expect any random events who might challenge your manager skills like, idk: press scandals that destroy one player moral, 2 of your own players fighting on the pitch because one slept with the wife of the other, young star partying too much before games and destroying his progression, racism inside some stadiums, referees scandals with corruption... Nope, nothing will ever happen.

It's a decent game I got in a pack along with my ps5. I played the first dishonored game and knew what to expect. Gameplay benefits greatly from the haptic triggers and allows different playstyle and you'll have fun for a while uncovering all the mysteries hidden in the 4 maps. The loop concept and the beginning of the story may lure you during a good 10 to 20 hours into thinking you're playing something special. After that, you'll begin to get bored because you will know all the 4 maps like your own garden and your character will become OP. The ending is too short and clearly disappointing. Graphics, animations are still ps4 quality. AI is poor. The game froze on me more than 10 times but with the auto save between each time of the day, you only lose progression in the last map loaded. Still unforgettable but not really a deal breaker. Overhyped but not crap. It's a solid 6.

The game looks and plays like AC Origin. Huge and beautiful world with probably the best parkour in the video game industry but :
- stupid level scaling (even with the option turn to the minimum) which take away all sense of character progression
- anoying grinding if you want to keep your armor & weapon up to your current level
- fetch quest with no real choice
- factions are a joke: killing everybody is always the most rewarding XP wise
- automatic health regeneration when you escape a difficult fight. Stab and hide. Rinse & repeat.

0.8? Notes here are a joke. Everybody knows it is not worth paying the full retail price if you already have the last iteration and are not a hardcore fifa player. But the note should be about the quality of the game itself not about EA economic model. Well...then, my honest review. ;) I am a career mode player and I personnaly appreciated this Fifa 21. Having the possibility to jump in/out in a simulated game is gold. The option to change player position is nicely done. Managing sharpness is a little bit too time consuming in the beginning but after a while you can simulate almost every session. New player development is a mixed bag. I am delighted I don't have to play repetitive mini games to improve every attribute but it is way too easy to improve skill moves, wrong foot & work rate. These huge improvements should be limited (only 1 star to choose for each player) and come at a price. Atm, every young midfielders & forward can become 5 stars geniuses with high working rate in less than 6 months. Gameplay wise, the game is almost the same as fifa 20 imo, only faster but you have the option to slow it down so it looks less inhuman. I almost never used the new ability to control the direction of my teammates runs but the option is there for the gifted players. As usual, defending is too hard. Defensive midfield abandon you and full backs deliberately leave huge spaces in their back. Playing the offside is very difficult and goalkeepers have not improved. On legendary or Ultimate difficulty, you will suffer the classic Fifa scripts. If you lead 1-0, prepare yourself to see your best forward hit the post from a position he usually always scores while on the other side of the pitch your 90 rated defender controlled by the AI suddenly lose all defensive awareness and freeze so your opponent finally equalize at the last min of the game. Really really annoying game design.

After trying assassin's creed odissey, I was more than happy to play this old school rpg with NO level scaling. The strong point is definitely the quest & faction system. Almost every quest give you multiple choices and decisions may alter your possible alliance with a faction. eg. I was denied access to the berserker faction because I stole and betray too many npc. I never got caught but the raise of the crime rate juste after my arrival in the city did not go unnoticed. This is what I called a real rpg. World design is really good imo with a lot of variety, hand placed rewarding loots and some vertical exploration thanks to the jet pack. Combat is really average with bad hit boxes. Progression is too hard due to a lack of mission for low levels players. You have to spend 10 hours hiding behind a friend npc who will do all the fighting for you in order to level up. Graphic is last Gen. Music is average. But despite all this, it is still a better game than a triple A assassin's creed... Looking forward for the sequel.

This War of Mine6
Jul 24, 2021
It's an OK game with an original approach on war and its consequences. A playthrough will take you between 8 and 10 hours but there's definitely some replayability for those who really enjoy the game. As for me, I desinstalled the game after my third - but first successful - campaign with the feeling I had seen almost all the game mechanics. (I may be wrong though...maybe there's some hidden depth somewhere) It's not hard per se but there's only one save file and the game saves automatically after each day. Here, rage exiting the game after an injust death due to clumsy controls (and never your bad decision) is actually rewarded... which is a shame as it takes away the stress when you're scavenging in risky areas. A solid 6. Worth your money if you're a curious gamer.

GreedFall5

Greedfall is a beautiful but empty shell. It is not very bad and i managed to play till the end but I can't understand how a veteran rpg player could be satisfied. I played on hard looking for a challenge and tried to take my time to enjoy the game but after a few hours, I couldn't shake the feeling that everything was really generic and that the gameplay really lacked the depth you usually find in a rpg. Skill tree / Gears / **** they are all underdeveloped. Combat is not bad per se but balance is a little bit broken. e.g. Stasis - a magikal power you get early - was really OP even though I invested very few points in magic. Bestiary is poor and you will fight the same mob (with level scaling) all game long. You'll even have to fight some bosses twice. The semi open world Greedfall offers is the worst aspect of the game. The devs have reused the same building / tree / rock everywhere making every place look very similar. The choice of a limited color palette didn't help. Of course, there are invisible walls everywhere and your character can't even jump over a fence or swim across a small river. Thus going from point A to point B is a chore and i found myself overerusing the map and the fast travel option. On the positive side, the lore and the story are good and there are multiple ending depending on your choices in the main quests.

One of the best survival / base crafting game. The game is pretty easy, but you will have to invest time in reading the document you find to understand the lore otherwise you'll find yourself with no clue about what to do next. You are on your own and you will have to think logically and be thorough in your exploration to progress through the story. Ending is good and rewarding which is very rare for this kind of game. Graphics & Music are good and immersive. The gameplay is based on exploration and gets new everytime you build a new vehicle. Combat is almost inexistant and should be avoided because it is not fun and fleeing is always a better option. AI is very poor and blind. Technically the game suffers on basic ps4 to a point I had never seen before in my life: 3 min to load the last save, pop up delay almost game breaking because the plant or ore you're looking for does not appear while you're asphyxiating and last but not least, the game crashes every hour or so (save often or be bitter). In conclusion, i'm really looking forward for the next **** not on ps4.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt9
Dec 17, 2020
"Funny" how some people come here in December 2020 out of pure hate to criticize CD projekt. The witcher 3 is an amazing rpg with a solid main story and incredibly well written side quests. It is a joy to venture such a beautiful and full of content open world - you'll get more than 50h of fun, probably more than 100h if you like to take your time and try different story choices. The gameplay is not perfect and parcour especially feels a little bit clunky in the beginning but imo, it is still 10 times better than what red dead or gta **** yeah, deal with it, the game is worth it ;) And trust me, combat gets interesting once you've mastered all the options at your disposal and turned the difficulty to hard. I personally appreciate how enemy level scaling is done. I really hate it in so many other games when every time you level up, basic enemy also get stronger. What the point then if you don't feel more powerful? In conclusion, the witcher 3 is definitely one of the best game of last Gen. I really hope the devs recover from cyberpunk somehow and come back with a new rpg based on sapkowski's universe.

This game is clearly made by and for RPG lovers. It has almost everything we wish for and we never see in triple A game. If you like the genre, you should give it a try and here is why. 1. it has a totally functionnal couch co-op split screen option. I can not stress enough how much this is appreciated since this fun option has almost completely disapeared from modern rpg. 2. the combat/death system is really good. You won't cross path with a lot of enemies but each encounter will count. You have a lot of freedom on how to approach each fight. Make your own strategy and specialise your character in consequence. The character progression is slow and you will have to tread very carefully in the beginning to avoid the strongest **** you know you will have your revenge later in the game. Death system is fair and refreshing: the penalty for dying is random, the game auto saves after each fights & you only have one save slot per character. 3. the survival game mechanics are brilliantly implemented. Plan carefully every quest if you don't want to suffer the consequences of hunger, cold, lack of sleep, infections etc etc... It is not too time consuming and it gives the game a good rythm allowing the player to rest his nerve after a stressful fight. I also love that my inventory is really limited because it forces me to think about what I really need to pick up. 1+2+3 = excellent rpg even though, tbh, the game also suffer from many technical flaws (like long loading screens and last gen graphics). But imo, none of them are game breaking and it is understandable for such a small development team. Here is a small wish list (in order of importance) for an hypothetical sequel: - an option to fast travel between big cities once you have discovered them. Make it expensive and keep the excellent ambush system but the option should be there. - a realistic loot system. If I kill an ennemy with a good armor, I want to be able to take it 100% of the time. Same for his weapon. The backpack limitation is enough. - a jump button because it is not fun or realistic to get stuck behind a small rock. - swim & climb to explore the world with a realistic stamina cost / weight carried system. I would love to have to plan quests without packback and armor to reach/unlock some region of the world. - NPC day & night cycle / steal / kill option. These poor NPCs deserve to sleep at **** some also deserve to be robbed and/or killed (with a strong punishment if you get caught). More dialog option and a moral system would also be a nice addition. In conclusion, I really hope these guys get the chance to work on an outward 2 with more budget, they deserve it and if they keep all the good stuffs, I will definitely buy it.

There's no pvp, and so far at level 17, I haven't felt the need to buy anything. So for me, it is basically a free game with nice combats, good character's design and a beautiful world to explore. Is it worth your time though? There are better games out there and the performance on ps4 is not really good. Edit: now at world level 30, the game progression is very slow and you are left with 3 choices:
1. farm like crazy and waste your time
2. waste your money on the O, 1% slot machine
3. Stop playing "mid game" and say goodbye to all the characters you spent 30h improving. Hint: choose life ;)

Very good tactical rpg with a lot of replayability. Very few games give you that level of freedom, choose your own path, it is even possible to kill guest giver npcs if you feel like it. Combats are fun and challenging, character progression is addictive. Story is average though imo. Last but not least, split screen couch co op give you the opportunity to share this adventure with your better half. Best feature ever.

Thousand of little animations bring this beautiful open world to life. Impressive work with a massive attention to details. Here, npc really react to the player actions. Unfortunately, the game in itself is really boring. Gameplay feels incredibly unresponsive and you have no freedom in how you can approach the missions. Sometimes you can not even choose your weapon. Story starts slow too but since I didn't finish the game I can't really comment. In conclusion, a big disappointment for me. I really don't get the hype and the 10/10 reviews.

Tennis World Tour 24
Sep 27, 2020
The positive:
- Challenging and rewarding timing base gameplay.
- For once in a tennis video game, players hold their racket like they should (eg. eastern grip for forehand) and in the majority of situation, the swing movements are realistics. Don't get me wrong, there is no variety or specific player animation (appart from **** it does look like real life tennis at least. The Negative:
- Unresponsive player movement. Basically, the AI moves for you, sometimes, making strange decision, like going forward to force you to play a half volley, leaving you completely vulnerable in the middle of the court. Often, players don't even try to reach the ball. Going to the net is too hard. There should be a shoulder button (L1 for ex.) to force your player to play a net approach by going forward and playing his shot at the same time. - Some shots still don't match the input. I'm guessing because the animation were juste never created. You won't be able to enjoy finishing the point with a big forehand swing when the ball is over your shoulder. It doesn't matter if you press the flat or the lift button, your player will always do a lame slice forehand, even if you hit with the perfect timing. - In career mode, character creation and progression is uncommonly bad. Every new created player have the same starting stats and each time you level up, you have only 3 attributes you can improve (defense / attack / precision). Why can't I create a serve & volley type of player with a weak forehand like stefan Edberg? For me, it just kills any incentive you might have to do a second playthrough. - The cards system is not compatible with a simulation. Worst idea ever. On the same level of crazyness, the boosts the different rackets give you are completely unrealistics. - Edit: card system is actually broken atm. Sometimes, small effects will stack in the weirdest way making you either a superman serving at 250km/h or a total loser incapable of hitting the ball. I'm level 14 and it happened already in 3 matches. Hence, my note changed from 6 to 4. In conclusion, don't expect top spin 4 quality here, it is clearly still a work in progress. Wait for patches or for the next tennis game.
