While there is a lot of new contents, I would say this DLC has a real problem with balance. Because they decided to make it more hard for veteran players, they decided to nerf a lot of items, kinda buff some others (that were not really good or useful in any kind of run), make ennemies much harder and add new bosses even more hard (with sometimes unfair and unavoidable attacks). Even after player for 350h on Afterbirth +, the difficulty curve was really steep. It took me 15h just to be the new Corpse Mother, even on normal mode. The thing is that before doing this, you cannot really unlock anything new (except Bethany). To unlock all the tainted characters you need to first beat Corpse Mother, then do a run for every character to do a Beast run (which, in comparison, is a **** joke because it is really easy). After more than 80h of play I can say that I got used to the new difficulty and I can enjoy the game more, but a lot of people will stop before that. On the contrary, some new characters like Bethany or Tainted Lilith are just owerpowerful and you can easily get every marks on hard, while impossible to do just a normal Satan run with Tainted Lazarus or Tainted Jacob. Maybe the issues will get fixed as time goes by, but I highly doubt it. For 30$, I think it is kind of an expensive DLC that is mostly accessible to people who are already veteran on TBOI. If you want to make a game that has so many input possible to play with, at least make sure that it will not 75% of the time be unfair to the player lol.

It's not a bad game, but it's not a good one either. Yes, it can be beautiful, charming and relaxing. But the farming mechanics get quite boring after 1h. The game is also short (3h max) and sadly repetitive. There is some things that are not explained and that gets you confused and not necessarily enthousiast to try new things. The narrative is good and you can get stimulated to know more about the story, but the rest of the game really doesn't help you get through it. Finally, on the switch version the font is just SO small that I had to play closer to the TV to be sure that I'd be able to read what was written. I don't get how this was left out during the port. Again, this was wasted potential because it could have been much better, with not so much work added.

It started really fun, original and fresh. Then after 5-7 hours of playing, it kinda fell off. The controls are good but will feel clunky the moment you start world 5. There is also a huge amount of content, but since it's introduce almost all in the beginning, you kinda feel that those things are equally important, which they are not. I don't really care if there is a lot of content in a game if that content don't quite feel fun. Less is more. There is also some weird choices in the game and level design. It's still a fun game to play, but at some point you might get bored. It's really not a masterpiece, but a fun game anyway.

I pretty much agree with other's people mixed reviews. It has a lot of qualities (graphics, music, gameplay), but also has a lot of bad points that are a deal breaker in that genre. What's the point of making a platform game if your move set is so limited and feels clunky ? The ennemies are actually always having the advantage and the checkpoints are way to spaced in the levels. Those are the things you need to be able to balance if you want people to have fun with your game. And I sincerely don't care about the ''but they wanted to do a full retro game''. If 90% of those retro games were bad, it's for a reason. They were cheaply designed with bad controls. They felt hard because the game devs at that time just **** at making good games. I don't see the point of making a NES retro game if you keep all the worst flaws that could have been thrown out. I just feel this is a bunch of lazy decisions. And I'm kinda pissed about Yacht Games for supporting this, like did you even play the game before publishing it ? It really has potential, why wouldn't you work more on it until it's really polished ? This doesn't deserve more than a 5, because you just don't have fun playing this game after 1-2 hours.

Although Shovel Knight was excellent and Specter Knight was great, this one **** so much. The jumping mechanic is completely unplayable and so complex for no reason. It's a platform game. You jump 90% of the time in this type of game and when you wanna do it, you need to press 2 buttons and be super synchronise to double jump. They clearly missed the point where game controls needed to be intuitive lol. AND. Oh my god. The **** knock back. It was already frustrating in Shovel Knight because this kills you so many times where normally you would just lose one HP. But no. When you get hit, you get send 5 feet away and fall into holes. There are a huge amount of holes everywhere in every stages. And when you die, you lose part of your money over and over. So you just quickly get that this game will be a major pain in the ass. I rushed through the first 2 games because they were well done (even if some mechanics in Specter Knight were a bit limit), but there I just stopped after 2 levels. This is what happen when you promise to do a whole lot of game instead of focusing on only one. This kickstarter gimmick really make them do the first best game, and then the other were between good and terrible. This doesn't serve you at all. And I can't believe they never fixed the things like the knock back ''mechanic'' in the sequels. It's lazy game dev, in my opinion.

This game has a lot of potential, replayability, content and challenge. But the RNG really can make everything seems unfun and unfair. I don't mind the challenge, but it really **** to feel that you die just because the game threw something insanely hard at you several times in a row. RNG is supposed to make the game fun, not feeling unfair. This could have clearly been balanced more than this because at some point it's just lottery. And you don't want to spend 40 minutes on a run to actually die in a inevitable way because of the RNG. This just discourage people. So since a game is supposed to be fun, I'll give 7 because it could be much more fun. A lot of time I'm like ''hey I wanna play TBOI'' et then 10 minutes later I might be just disgusted by the unfairness of the game. In brief, McMillan can make brillant games but he clearly lacks the dimension of the learning curve.

This is a good MK game. It has great control, easy to learn and it must be really cool to play with other people, almost as much as Double Dash. But sadly the game has several flaws that restrain it from being a 10. -50cc and 100cc and much to easy, especially for a veteran player who did every MK games -150cc and 200cc are almost unfair in some ways, since you pretty much always have a race where you get hit by a blue shell 2 seconds before the finish line, get passed by 1-2 or 3 others players and then your score is **** It's sincerely systematic. When you go through every 12 cups, it happens at least once per cup. So since I gave up doing the 100% thing with 3 stars everywhere, I don't really give a damn anymore, but for anyone who tries to do it perfectly, it's gonna be a frustrating experience since this gimmick make the game much harder than it should be. -There is also a weird mechanic in the game where if you tend to get out a little out of the path, it forced you to go back on track. It's subtle, but thing can ruin races. It literally happened to me on a race where I wanted to do a short curve drift, and it suddenly shifted to make me take a shortcut I couldn't take because I didn't have a boost. So I fell in the water for no reason and it was (of course) on the last turn. It doesn't happen quite often, but this feels like this mechanics was integrated in the game so beginner players wouldn't constantly fly off road, which can be OK if you are on assist-mode, but never on a full speed mode. It kinda crushes the point since you feel you cannot your kart perfectly. -Also too bad some items are gone because it feels less diversified (after 36 cups). -They literally changed some races from the past, which is not really a nice hommage since it blow up the point of taking old tracks. I'm not talking about bugs, but about some things that made those races unique. Yoshi's valley is a great exemple. On the N64 version, you could never know who was first during the race because the icon were all switched up with ? marks. Which gave so much suspens and made that race unforgettable. This was took out in the Switch version, which is kinda sad and less exciting. You feel that's a really good game with great quality, but the laziness of Nintendo (as usual) to do a deluxe version instead of a new one, and the poor additions or changes they did, doesn't really gives a nice picture of the game. So it's worth a good 8, but far behind what it could have been (which feels like a bad habits Nintendo seem to have with their AAA games).

I don't care how beautiful the game is or how good the OST is. It's a video game. If it's not fun to play, it has a problem. And Ori and the Blind forest has a big problem. I don't care **** is hard, I played Hollow Knight, Celeste, Hyperlight, Katana Zero, name it. But this one is just unfair, even on easy mode. The thing is that, if you wanna make a platform game, you need to have perfect control of your character. You need a good level design. You need to have perfect gameplay (like Celeste). If you wanna give some challenge, it needs to be fair and give a little chance to succeed. Ori doesn't have great controls. It doesn't have a fair challenge (you sometime need to die to understand what do to, even after only one hour of playing - we are not talking about the last level). Playing this game is frustrating because it forces you to go through insane and not at all calibrated challenge in some key parts of the game. So you'll have to die 20 times to get over an obstacle, but not because it's actually difficult. It's because the game is not polish. Enemies weirdly respawn for no reason (and it's not even necessary to be that way) in some parts where the platforms are already tiny, things gets really confusing really fast during the battles and your character is super weak during the first 5 hours of playing. So you die for almost nothing. And **** the spikes, they are almost instant kill and they are everywhere. That's just cheap level design and cheap challenge. So what's the point of making a beautiful game if you cannot enjoy it, because the difficulty and the core gameplay wasn't really polished ? It's a damn shame because I would like to finish it, but after 3 hours of (mostly) frustrating play, I'm not even sure I'm gonna finish it. It is way beyond games like HK (which was hard but had better level design, a better learning curve and TIGHT CONTROLS). So I am not really sure I'm gonna try the sequel, because if it's the exact same, I don't see the point.

I feel like playing a game of chess on steroids. It's one of the best tactic game I've played. The infinite combination is really a brilliant part of the game where battles never are the same (even if they can feel like after 20 hours). I pretty much enjoyed everything, even if some of the main mechanics could have been better explained (permadeath, what to prioritize (grid, timepods, etc...)). I should not need to go on youtube to be sure that I am not missing an important part of the gameplay lol. But except that, I find that it was a pretty addictive experience. I played for more than 30 hours in 2 weeks to finish it with every team and I only have 2/3 of all the achievements. My only complain is that, although all the teams offer a different experience with their widely varied units and combos, the ''random'' team was not a good experience. You really need to be sure that you'll have a balanced team if you wanna go somewhere, because when I did it the first time, I had only one unit who could attack and the two others could only shove or move enemy units. It doesn't seem like a problem, but for whatever reason I always had ''burrowers'' as enemies, and they are THE ONLY UNITS that you cannot move or shove. So I had to accept game over after completing 3 islands only because those units were constantly attacking the buildings and I was never able to attack them. That part really **** and I feel this wasn't really calibrated by the dev team. I also would have like more story, because this is just pretty much the same every time. So after 20 playthrough, you don't learn anything and you also don't give a **** about what the characters says. It could have been nice to feel like you are learning bits of the story every time you start a new timeline. Or that you have a real ''final boss'' at the end when you finish the game with all the teams. But all in all, great experience. I hope the dev team will learn from the smalls mistakes here and there and offer us another great time in the future !

I played this game when it came out then bought it on Switch this year. It didn't age well, though. Even if the level design and a lot of ideas are interesting and funny, the sometime unfairness of the game really drain you quickly. I don't see what's the point of making a game where you HAVE to die to understand of how things works, especially in the last worlds. Unfair levels, clunky controls and extreme precision needed to succeed is not what I call a challenge. It's not well balanced and you clearly don't get the point of completing it fully when you see how much time you need to invest in it. Games are supposed to be fun and challenging. This one has a lot of challenge (half of the time unfair) and some fun (half of the time also). So it's clearly not a bad game, especially done by two people. In 2010 it was a success but playing it today is not the best you could do, except for nostalgia, because since the first release, a lot of better and more balanced games were made.

Being playing for more than a month and I like it. It's a relaxing experience. Though. They **** need to fix the multiplayer thing, which is utterly trash and so disrespectful for nintendo's fan. I play solo so I don't care, and I will never pay for their online trash service. I would probably never have bought this game if it was to play with my friends or roommate (if I had one). When I compare the first AC on GCN to this one, we can clearly see that there are improvements (fortunately, lol). But even if every single details are nice, I'm kinda worried that the interest will wear out in a month or two. Like every AC games. Which is sad because they really could find ways to update it and make it more enjoyable to play, with significant updates like in MMO games. But we know Nintendo, it's never going to be the case. We are going to have cheap updates every 4 months for Valentine, Halloween, Christmas, etc... and that's it. I got it for half the price so I don't really care, but this game is never gonna be worth the full price or the online membership to play with your friends. So play it if you're solo and can have it for half the price, or just pass.

Definitely worth playing. It has a great artistic direction, a marvelous soundtrack made by Disasterpeace and a nice challenge. The weak points would be that it's not perfectly balance. Some parts are harder that they should be just because your character doesn't respond as quickly as necessary, and there was some moments where the props were really in the way during a heat fight. They should have put a invincibility second or two after being hit, because for the final boss you just constantly get one-hit killed with some attack, because your character never has the time to recover from an attack before another one is made. Which is too bad because there are some great fighting moments too. Fortunately, it's forgiving and you just start the battle again, no need to go all the way back from the save point like in Hollow Knight, which was for me so **** frustrating. Also, graphically, even if it's beautiful, it can be sometimes confusing. I wasn't sure all the time where I could go on a platform or not, or if there was some secret things to find since they don't pop out even a little in the environment. And since there are a lot of things and secrets to be discovered (some of them are pretty much essential to the game), it would have been nice for them to be a little bit clearer. But it does reward you for exploration, which is nice. All in all, a great and unique indie game that you need to try at least once. Just know that's it's challenging, but I've seen much harder and unfair. The uniqueness of the game really stands out and it should be known more (kinda like Katana Zero)"

The story is fresh and complex, the pacing is perfect, the controls are neat and it's just sooo much fun to wander in your killing missions (I'm not a psycho I swear). The music and the ambiance are deep, I love the mechanic of forseeing (therefore the ability to rewind if you get killed). And the dialogue mechanics are neat too. All in all, not much bad thing to say. It's ''short'' but enough difficulty to make you play for a bit, and I can't wait for the possible sequel/DLC.

As original and enjoyable as the first Shovel Knight. This time controlling the Reaper feels almost overpowered at some point, if you are well trained with the slash mechanic. It was a nice idea to do a prequel in that way and to rearrange what was already there to make a second game. Too bad they kept the recoil thing when you get hit, because that still **** a lot. Also, the mechanic of the upward/downward slash can sometimes be infuriating because it doesn't work around logic but rhythm, and if you do your slash a tiny bit too early/late, you just go directly down the pit, die and lose your unreachable money. Kinda the same problem as in the first game, which is too bad because it's not hard to fix and it's also not a brilliant idea to insert that kind of unfair mechanic into the game.

This is an excellent retro platform game. Great level design, controls, music is catchy, bosses are originals and the mechanics are quite nice to use. I wish there would be more levels outside of the castles, like the first level. The only flaw of the game for me is the f*cking recoil when you character gets hit. This was a gimmic used in the 80's but that cannot happen anymore in any platform game. I think it's a cheap way to add challenge and it's infuriating and unfair. If you get hit by an enemy, you normally receive 1/2 heart damage. But if this happens on a small platform (it will happen often), the recoil just push you in the pit and you die. Without a chance of recovering or anything. So then you lose your money in a pretty much unreachable place, and you can go get **** lol. So if this was patch, I would say the game is perfect. And the sad thing is that they kept that recoil for every **** games. Programmers, stop putting recoil in your 2D games, it's a stupid idea and it's a fake and unfair challenge. ;-)

A beautiful platformer with some really nice moments, but that has some bad points in it. -The controls are so not intuitives that even after 5h of playing the game I still mess some commands -You character feels somewhat sluggish and that absence of fluidity sometimes just make you so weak against any ennemies -There is one thing I would literally erase from the game if there was a patch : the fact that your character fall down EVERY TIME you get hit by an enemy. It is such a bad idea since, not only it kills your flow, but it also makes you have a great disadvantage against any enemy, since you have to get up and fly again to just go back to being equal with them. It's even worst when they hit you near a wall since you'll also hit the wall, then fall down to the ground. All this literally takes 3 secondes every time. A good thing is that dying doesn't really have consequences, but still. It's utterly frustrating because, again, it's a platform game. Anything that can easily kill your flow or makes things unfair because of bad controls really waste the potential of the game. I stopped playing around 2/3 of the game since it was lacking rythm, the world design wasn't at his best and I always felt that the fight were kinda unfair. I don't get why they put so many controls on every buttons where they easily could have mashed some together. Wait for a sale. I got it for 5$.

I think it's a really original idea ****. It is really challenging and sometime unfair (but not too often so you don't just ragequit all the time). The learning curve is steep but it's based on this mechanics to make you understand that the game is tough and you'll have to die often to learn. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but you do learn every time you die. It's the kind of game you play 30 minutes per day to keep getting better. And the feeling for beating a zone is awesome since you fought so hard to do it. The random mechanic makes it really fresh all the time, but sometime too based on luck since you can be really good and still have a huge badluck on a run (like 10 hard monsters in a single room) and you'll just die in less than a second if you are not super fast. So be sure to know that you need to love challenge to have fun in this game. And the soundtrack.... is pure genius. Danny Baranowski is a really good composer that makes the game much more fun to play. Some details are so worthy (like the shopkeeper singing) and made me really enjoyed the game more. There is a lot of replay value until you finish all the zones and the story mode (wish there was some checkpoint in the story mode since it's just the 5 zones back-to-back). There is a lot of content to unlock but it wasn't really for me since I didn't care about having every characters or items in the game.

This game has a really good balance between a good story (but not too present), good learning curve, good challenge and, most important of all, good controls. Even if it's a lot of hard work, every platforming game should have controls that are as slick as Celeste. Period. This game is difficult but is totally doable if you keep practicing, and the controls are so smooth that it never really feels as a chore to beat a level (it is difficult because the game design is based to be challenging). The music is good and also I really enjoyed the fact that the berries are optional. It really helps to know that they are there to impress your friends or if you wanna beat your own personnal high score. For people who want a even more challenging game, they have the B-C sides and all the heart stuff to do (I didn't because I am not a masochist lol). It's too bad that those side quest are insanely hard because I would have love to be able to do some of them, but I am not fond of dying 1000 times just to understand how works some insanely precise mechanics, but that's really just me. It's kinda sad that people can be blind and stupid enough to give this game a 10, because if it wasn't called ''Super Smash Bros'' this would received a merely 7 overall by most people. So fanboys can be fanboys anyway. I grew up with Smash 64, then Melee and Brawl (skipped the one on Wii U). There was always a possibility to have fun and compete with several lvl 9 CPU without looking it unfair. But in Ultimate, it's exactly the opposite. Although I had fun in the Classic mode, the Adventure mode is pure trash (not talking about comparing with Subspace or anything). Outside the fact that there is no story, no cinematic or stuff like in Brawl, there is also no fun to just have constant battle against random CPU to save Spirits that most of the time won't give you any bonuses (so why the **** would you save them ?). And the **** loading screens all the time, even if they are 3 seconds ! Surely they could have found a way to make it faster because it just makes everything feels slow. I think also it's such a cheap way to add ''challenge'' in fights in Adventure mode to put stuff like ''floor is lava'', ''bombs everywhere that kills you because the 3 others CPUs are constantly throwing them at you'' or ''Sonic giving you 25HP hits in stamina mode where you deal only 4HP damages with smash attacks''. Like, what the **** happened with the devs ? Where in their mind did they actually thought this could be a fun challenge ? It is not. It's lame because it's not like we had an AI system that was not working in the previous game, so why changing it to make it frustratingly hard ? I played for 2h of the World of Garbage Light and decided to quit because I had enough. It is purely sad since I played hundreds of hours with the previous games, and here I think I'll just go with the classic and solo fights. I could do the Adventure mode in Melee 25 times without being bored, doing the Subspace many times either, but **** World of Light, seriously. But I am happy for you if you have fun with it, since I don't. The controls and hitboxes are honestly not that good, and someone in the reviews (IFeelScammed) pointed something really important : you seem to miss your opponent a lot when you fight, whereas they seem to always hit you perfectly, even on LVL5. That's what I call unfair challenge. I don't see the point of playing a fighting game where the only thing you have to do is purely to ''smash'' your controller until you beat your opponent. Even if it's an arcade-like game, it doesn't mean it has to be clunky and superficial. You also don't have a lot of flow-opportunity when you fight, since some fighters are clearly slow and not fluid in their attacks/combos possibilities. I am also not really found of playing with items and Ultimate seems to constantly play on that (World of Light). So this game can be quite fun for sure, but the adventure mode is a lazy way to add content to the game, I don't give a **** about spirits and assist stuff, they are there to just balance the fact that the challenges are unfair. That's cheap. I didn't talk about the online mode because I haven't (and won't) try it because I know Nintendo don't care about making a good online mode for any of their games (except, strangely, MK Wii lol). So there you go, **** the critics that gives Nintendo games 9-10/10 because they don't deserve it, they are lazy. What's the point of making a fighting game if you don't have fun fighting ?

Another game that could have being amazing but was a little bit wasted. +Nice universe, we can see the touch of people who worked with Rare before +Kinda funny, relaxing and quirky +First quarter of the game feels nice, well balanced +Lot of collectibles, which I always enjoy +The overworld which is fulled with good ideas -Frustatingly hard starting the half of the game, for no apparent reason other that ''the game needs to make you suffer'' -Not the best gameplay either : Yooka can roll but it's not as precise as in Donkey Kong, the character also feels like it's weighing a ton since it doesn't jump well, the platform sometimes are slippery for no reason (and you die because of that) **** = this is the worst part and makes the game being unfun at some point. You can never really go fast because the way the ennemies are programmed is that they are always **** with your flow, you cannot even dodge half of them or you'll die. Which is pointless since it doesn't even give you a chance to dodge them if you are good enough. -The collectibles are also a bad thing in this game : the 5 coins to find in every level are not that bad to find for the first quarter, but after chapter 10 they are insanely hard and unfair. You need to die several times to get to know how to reach a specific coin. But the thing is that you also need them to progress. -The way to move in the overworld feels so sluggish by moments. You can have nice puzzles to solve and that really add some fun to the game, instead of just being levels after levels, but it really need more polish. -The loading time at the beginning, every time you start the game. It litterally takes a MINUTE everytime to load the game. That's not possible anymore. All in all a good game, but you need to be sadistic to finish this game 100% because it's actually not fun to do. With more polish, better gameplay and a better difficulty-curve, this could have been as good as the DK series for sure. I really hope the devs are gonna make another game like that but without those flaws.

I bought it for 2$ on ehsop because it was on sale, I knew it wasn't a great game but I'm a fan of platform games. I didn't finish it because there are some points in the game where you just don't know what to do for several reasons : -Gameplay is clunky, unprecise and somewhat random (which is unacceptable for a platform game) -They favored a ''immersive'' world, putting stuff on different plans on the screen (first front, and background), but the first front keeps getting in your way and interfere with what you are seeing on screen, and it sometimes happen during crucial moments. -The story is blend, they honestly could have hire a writer to just put a small synopsis in the game so it would feel less like another walking simulator. Yes, the graphics and universe is astounding. But I am PLAYING (lol) a videogame, not a movie. It would be cool that people that make game (even if I know it is a lot of work and extremely hard) would prioritize more the ''gaming'' aspect than the video one. Because what's the point of playing a beautiful game if the story is blend, the gameplay clunky and the challenge somewhat unfair/unfun (because of the bad controls) ? With better choices, this game could have been great and it's always sad to see a game being wasted potential, since you put so much effort, time and money into it. :)

A really fun concept ****. It's fun, you wanna have more. But the fact that there is some unfair stuff in it (the **** cops running like Usain Bolt whenever they smell just a tiny fart of yours) that sometimes just crushes your fun. Every time you get caught you have to restart the whole mission which can take easily 20-30 minutes do do, and everything you have to pick-up gets randomized (which also add to the fun if you wanna replay the game, because you have to change you tactic every time). The unfair part could be easily patched because the cops are honestly too powerful and omniscient, which doesn't really make sense in that game. Buy it when it's on sale (which often happen) and have fun !

A really smart (and difficult) game. A lot of nice choices for the lore, the world, the music and the art direction is beautiful. Everything works perfectly together. They are some small things I definitely would correct because sometimes it can ruins your fun for sure (benches really far from bosses which make you lose so much time to go back to the boss everytime you die (which will happen a lot)). I feel this wasn't really thought of and it's kinda sad because after almost 10 hours of playing I almost stopped playing because I got discouraged by some unfair parts. Adding more benches would not have made the game more easier, just less frustrating. And what's the point of creating a game that is frustrating for no apparent reason. But outside of that, it's kinda incredible the amount of work put in that game, for such a small team, and such a small price. Big studios should get more inspired by indie devs because it's really rare that you have a 15$ game that have you spend 45h just to finish the game (not even completing it - you have to be a little masochist to do that). All in all it's a masterpiece and I hope the next one will be as good (with MORE BENCHES *wink wink*),

I had fun playing this game, and I think it's basically the point of all this. It's stupid, absurd, cute and the universe work. I really liked the humor and the art style. It's nice to see something simple and stupid being also of good quality. Of course it's far from perfect and having a more substantial story could have been nice (especially the ending, feels like it's more of a ''oh well whatever let's get back to our lives'' kinda feeling). Making the missions worthwhile could have been nice too since at some point they was some stuff I didn't care about doing since I knew nothing would happen except ''You did the mission''. I want a little more than that. ;-) Some music are really catchy and that was a good feeling. For 5$ on e-shop sale, it's worth it. You're gonna have a funny 3-4h of play between bigger games that need all your focus and energy. And we need games like that too in our ecosystem !

Amazing game. Simple, cute, so efficient with the hiking-relaxing-holiday mood. I had to stop myself from completing it in one run since I had so much fun exploring this island. It's that kind of rare game where you wish it was bigger and longer (that's what she said). Also, it really gave me the impression of playing through an Miyazaki movie (not for the art style but for the impression it gives you and for the characters). One of the best 2020 game out there, and for 10$ it's such a bargain. Even if it takes like 6-7h max to complete it, every minute spent in this game is worth it, and that's really rare. GIVE US MORE PLEASE.

More of a swimming simulator than actually a ''game''. It doesn't have challenge (which is fine in that case), and no clear goal than just getting to the next zone. It's beautiful and the music is awesome. It's true that playing this with headphones must add a lot to the experience. I did it in several short sessions so I think it was better that way than just rushing through it. It also feels good and weird to just have fish to interact around you. I would have love more story background for this, because games these days tend to be like ''we only give part of the story and you'll figure it out by yourself'', which is sometime good (Hollow Knight) and sometime can feel just lazy. For this game, it's an in between. True, making a good and solid story is hard, so making video games. People should care more about this part in the indie world and hire writers, even just to coach them on their story because it can really make a huge difference. Also, the off-water parts were clearly not thought for the controls because they are really clunky, which is the only time in the game it appears, since when you are underwater they are really good.

A clunky platformer without any good level design. It's a mobile game that should be free (or not more than 1$). It turned the sound off real quick too. So what's left ? Lol. You can have a little fun with it from time to time, but don't waste your time with that kind of game since the devs didn't really put much effort in this. Instead of making 4 games like Croc's world they should have made only one, but worth it. Pass.

I think you need to approach this game like a 2D walking simulator. It's really beautiful, it's a work of art. But a game shouldn't be only beautiful or otherwise it could just be a anime or a short film. There is no challenge, which is sad because it would have been easy to add some stuff without being that much of a huge job to do. Just a little tweaks here and there would have made the game much better. If you play this game thinking it's gonna be a platformer (which kinda is), you'll be disappointed. It's not anything like Hollow Knight or Celeste. The story is kinda simple, almost bland, but make sense. The fact that you unlock colors is great and should have been exploited more. Same for the NPCs you encounter from time to time. Get in on sale if you can, you'll probably enjoy it more too.

It's an amazing puzzle game. It feels fresh and I was really caught up in the universe. The graphic design is beautiful and the mechanics are genius. Yes, you have to figure it out by yourself but there are not a lot, so I don't get how people can get frustrated for not being told how to switch a tile. I think the fun comes because it lets you play around with the tiles and that's how you discover how the puzzles work. I really recommend it for anyone who likes puzzles. It is short but worthwile. No replay value, of course, but it's an exprience.

It's almost like a 2D walking simulator at some point, but the story adds up so much that it's just a perfect balance. A good, but simple, story about relationship. A lot of heartrending moments and some really cute too. Not a big challenge as a platform game, not a lot to collect neither, but if you do it you can have 2 special levels added to the game, which is nice. Get in on sale if you can, but totally worth it for the feelings it gives you.

Cute little puzzle game. Clunky in the animation and a little bit in the controls sometime, but really not a problem to play. Got it for 5 cents on the e-shop, so it was a cool puzzle experience (reminded me of Zelda : Alttp because of the rupees). They could have added juste a little story at the beginning and the end just to make the game a little more rich, but all in all it's just a small puzzle game. Some of them are a little harder at the end but they are far from impossible.

It's a good puzzle game. The ambiance, the art style and the universe is really cute. I would have like a bit more, maybe some short dialogue or something. Could have polished the game much more. The puzzle are not that easy, especially that you don't have really any cues to help, but once you figured out how this universe work, it feels kinda instinctive. There is actually only one puzzle I couldn't figure out, youtube saved me. But otherwise it's not that extreme (like Myst....). The feeling of loneliness, even if helped by some mute NPCs, is a good fit for that game. I really had fun with this game, even if it was done in maybe 4 hours. I definitely would want a bigger game like this one, with more story stuff in it !

It's a small platform game that has really nice ideas for the game design, but it also has some flaws that could be problematic for some players : -The learning curve is really steep. I quit after level 13 or something because it was getting ridiculously hard and not that fun or rewarding in any way -No story (or almost, except the classic ''a bad dude did something bad go trounce him''. -The music could be less repetitive All in all you can clearly have fun if you are in for a platform challenge, but I'd suggest to wait for a sale (got it for 1$).

Of course, great game. But I think it's far from perfect for many reasons. We all know the good stuff so I'll skip it. -The controls are good but starts to get clunky the moment you control an enemy, which is a problem since there is a lot of platform challenges that you have to do while controlling an enemy. So it add in difficulty but not for a good reason. -The music are good but since you don't get booted out of the world when you find a power moon, it means you can stay 30 minutes in the same stage if you want, meaning that you'll hear the 2 minutes soundtrack a loooot during that time of exploration. And that will make you bored of the melody quite faster, which is kinda sad. -Litterally a third of all the power moons (so around 300) feels like they are just there to fill the game. A lot of them are just impossible to find if you don't go search on the internet. So yeah, it rewards you for exploring, but also punish you for exploring 1h a damn power moon and not finding it because it's ridiculously hidden without any clues. I also think the story could have been thrown out at that point since it's totally useless. I would have prefer a simple ''find everything to repair X thing'' because the marriage thing is lame ( and so outdated, come on Nintendo).
