The Suicide Squad10
Aug 6, 2021
I really loved The Suicide Squad. The Suicide Squad was able to win me over as the best DCEU movie in the first 10 minutes of its run time. The Suicide Squad is unique, not feeling like most superhero flicks before it. Warner Brothers is no longer trying to copy the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it’s working out really well. The film was able to manage being really dark, without falling into the same traps that the Snyderverse set for itself. The Snyderverse sometimes tries to be extra gritty in an attempt to stand out, but it can sometimes lead to really boring scenes. That’s a comment I make as a Snyderverse fan. Some other things I liked about the movie were the editing, the cast, and the special effects. I went into the movie without doubts about the quality of the acting and special effects, but I did doubt the editing would be anything to write home about. Thankfully, the movie exceeded all of my expectations in those areas. I also think that this movie works as a great James Gunn movie. The soundtrack really works well, something you can always look forward to in a Gunn flick. I was worried about the movie possibly using all its jokes in the trailer, but I was dead wrong. The movie is hilarious. If I had to recommend the movie to anyone, I’d recommend it to comic book fans, people who aren’t turned off by gore, and people who don’t take themselves too seriously.

Zack Snyder's Justice League10

That movie was **** awesome. I respect everything about it. The story behind it's conception, it's originality, and it's character designs. Snyder's vision was Frankensteined into an unrecognizable beast by others. His fans cared so much, that he got a 4 hour cut of his original vision to release. I think this movie is a perfect example for studios of what happens when you respect the director's vision. Not just this, but the movie felt unlike any other superhero movie that I'd ever seen. That's surprising considering that the original felt like a rushed attempt to follow the Avengers movies. Also, the character designs were awesome. Specifically Steppenwolf's design was amazing

So many Netflix projects canceled for this disgusting THING! The fact that this probably went through countless editors is baffling! How has anyone received an award from this? Shame on Netflix and the creators of this abomination. I even hesitate in calling it a movie due to how much of a stain it is on the medium!

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens3
Jun 8, 2020
The movie is everything wrong with Disney owning Star Wars. J.J Abrams preys on nostalgia to sway the opinion of audiences. This is shown by Rey’s costume being resemblant to Luke’s, Kylo Ren’s costume looking like Darth Vader’s costume, Fin wanting to run away from the danger just like Han Solo in “A New Hope”, the crew having their own droid to follow them around just like R2D2, the existence of a planet-destroying space station, and The first order stormtroopers look like the empire’s stormtroopers. The movie doesn’t do much original and it leaches on its past success without adding anything new. The film also presents our beloved heroes from the originals’ efforts as a failure in an attempt to milk Star Wars dry. This film is enjoyable but for all the wrong reasons

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace6

I didn't hate this movie. I didn't enjoy the movie, but I don't dislike it. This is my second time recording my thoughts about this movie, but my reactions are way different this time. The difference this time is that the movie has my respect. I bashed this movie once, calling it the worst movie ever made. This time, I respect the movie because I realize that it's George Lucas' pure vision. This movie has pretty good fights, the soundtrack is amazing, and the special effects were amazing for their time. My only real problem with this movie is the passing issues.

Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi7

I didn’t go into Return of the Jedi with high expectations. Aside from throwing away a great antagonist and recycling ideas, the movie wasn’t the garbage fire that I was expecting.

Onward6

Onward is a contemporary fantasy about two brothers on their quest to bond with their father. The film has great character design and animation. The film's plot does leave something to be desired.

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back10
Jun 8, 2020
Empire Strikes Back gets a 10/10 because it takes the things that made Star Wars great and expanded upon them. This film has earned its place in film history with great action, the best Star Wars plot, mind-blowing special effects (for its time), amazing characterization, and perfect performances (primarily from Mark Hamill who spent a majority of the film talking to a puppet)

Fantastic Mr. Fox is perfect. The soundtrack gives me good vibes and the stop motion animation provided a nice change of scenery.

Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)8

Birds of prey was incredible. The movie had amazing writing, the most incredible fight choreography I've seen second to only that of John Wick, and great performances.
