Kirby and the Forgotten Land10
Feb 3, 2023
it took me a while to get to playing this one, especially since Kirby is my favorite nintendo IP, but this game is everything I could have wanted out of Kirby's first 3D adventure. fantastic atmosphere, incredibly unique level design, one of the best soundtracks in this franchise known for great soundtracks. and possibly some of the best bosses in a Kirby game, I wouldn't say I like this one more than Return to Dreamland, Triple Deluxe, or Epic Yarn, but this is definitely one of my favorite Kirby games, and my favorite game on the switch.

Hello Neighbor: Hide & Seek5
Jan 22, 2023
holy hell, stop making more hello neighbor games and just stick to polishing one. ok, this one isn't as bad as the rest, the storytelling is pretty good. but it feels barely playtested and doesn't feel polished, as to be expected with a hello neighbor game. the fact that this AND secret neighbor came out before the original game was done is what makes me not want to buy hello neighbor 2, please for the love of god tinybuild, stop!

I've wanted an indie multiplayer game like this for a while, but it felt like a lot of indie fighting games focused more on crappy ragdoll controls, so this game was a breath of fresh air for me. it's one of the best controlling games I've played and the power-ups keep the gameplay fresh and keeps you developing new strategies as the game goes on. this is one of the only games where I have fun just moving around doing nothing because of how smooth it is. overall, this is a very polished and fun game

Poppy Playtime3
Jan 21, 2023
is it even possible for a good game to ruin itself quicker than poppy playtime did? I'm not letting the various controversies surrounding MOBgames cloud my opinion, and I still dont like this game. now, the first chapter was amazing, it had a fantastic atmosphere but was way too short, but when Poppy herself actually started speaking, I was concerned. the isolation of chapter 1 is what made it work, but chapter 2 just throws all of that out of the window as Mommy long legs and Poppy speak and completely remove the great atmosphere of chapter 1, and not just that, it's kind of sad that indie horror games today can't even swear because they're taylered towards children. the genre showed so much promise with games like BATIM and Tattletail being fantastic, this game represents everything wrong with modern indie horror. and eventually it just kind of starts to do whatever the other indie horror icons do and doesn't try anything new. hell, it even copies from itself at points. I might be reviewing this too early since only 2 chapters are out, but it seems like this game is going down the same hole as hello neighbor, since a spinoff was released before the main game was even close to being finished. if the next chapters are as great as chapter 1, I will remove this review, but as it stands, this is my actual least favorite horror game ever (Secret Neighbor doesn't count because it's just flat out not a horror game)

Mario Party 69
Jan 1, 2023
my personal favorite Mario party game, I love the sun and moon mechanic, it's simple but adds a nice level of detail to the game. this game adds so much fun stuff that's small but improves the usual Mario Party formula immensely, I love every mini game in this one, they're all incredibly fun to play.

Mario Party: Island Tour5
Jan 1, 2023
Island tour is indeed a game. there's nothing here that I would say really blew me away, neither is there anything I found offensively bad. the mini games are fine, the other game modes are fine, everything is fine. I feel like the spaceship game mode that I forgot the name of could have been developed better and had a better map, but eh, it's a perfectly OK game.

this might be one of the most unsettling horror games I've ever played. this game just oozes atmosphere and has some of the best sound design that I've ever heard. really my only problem is that this game is just too short, right as it reaches it's peak, it just kinda ends. other than that, absolutely fantastic horror game

Terraria10
Jan 1, 2023
After playing it for 539 hours, I can come to the conclusion that Terraria is my favorite survival sandbox game. I love Mincraft, Astroneer, and Raft, but nothing can get close to the Terraria games. there's so much replay ability in this game, not every world has every biome, there are SO many different play styles and ways to progress, not to mention the amazing potential for speed running this game has. there's so much charm that Re-Logic didn't need to add, like the NPC dialogue, hundreds of pets, and so many vanity items. Terraria makes every single thing it tries fun, from building the perfect town for your NPCs to building up your weapon collection. every thing about Terraria is damn near perfection, and I feel like I stole it with how low the price point is, yeah, buy this game

The controls of this game are ABYSMAL, seriously. The biggest puzzle in this game is how the controls ended up being so delayed. OK, there's a cool castle and haunted level, but the rest are boring to look at and even worse to play. I may not be huge on puzzle games, but this is easily the worst I've played, don't get this. if you want a GOOD puzzle game, get Snipperclips

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice10
Dec 31, 2022
WHOOOO! this is one of the best AA games EVER! as someone who loves worldbuilding, the Kingdom of Khura'in is one of the best fictional countries I've EVER seen, the only thing it's missing is a full conlang to go with it. nearly ever case is phenomenal, except case 4 which is a really strange outlier. but cases 5 and 3 are really the best. 1,2, and 6 are great too! but 5 and 3 are some of the best experiences I've had in an AA game. perfect emotional beats, memorable characters, incredible plot twist after incredible plot twist, this game is SO GOOD.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies9
Dec 31, 2022
Sadly, I never really got to play the 3DS version, but this port is good. moving on, the game itself. the finale case is one of the single best cases in the series, so good that the only cases better than it are from DGS2 and SoJ, which are 2 of the best games in the series. every other case is good too, but it's really cases 3, 4, and 5 that spoke to me as being truly exceptional. case 1 was a decent intro, case 2 was ok, and case 6 absolutely blew. even with how absolutely horrendous case 6 was, this game is still fantastic for 3,4, and 5 alone.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney8
Dec 31, 2022
The Ace Attorney fans gave this one WAY too much crap. Apollo is a phenomenal protagonist, I'd argue better than Phoenix, Trucy is one of the best assistants in the series, hobo Phoenix is great, cases 1 and 4 are nothing short of amazing, and even this game's lowest point, being case 3, is... bad, but not as bad as other cases in other games. I still really like this game, and I really did enjoy it on my first playthrough and even more on other playthroughs.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations10
Dec 31, 2022
If AA wasn't already my favorite video game series of all time, this one cemented it as such. Jesus Christ, this game's story is nothing short of amazing, fantastic characters, one of the greatest villains in the series, and one of the single most legendary cases EVER as a finale case. I can't think of a single thing I dislike about this game....... besides case 2

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All8
Dec 31, 2022
About the same quality as the first game, but a smidge higher. I think people give this game too much crap. it introduces Pearl, Morgan, AND Adrian Andrews. the writing in this game is somehow more charming than the first, the final case is LEGENDARY, and the 2nd is also solid. case 3 is bad, but nothing about it is offensive bad to me, it's better than people make it out to be. of course, who can forget the Magatama, one of the coolest introductions in the series. solid game.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney8
Dec 31, 2022
It's always nice to go back to this game to see how my favorite video game series began. later installments may have tuned the story to perfection, but this one had the basis for writing in the entire series. Turnabout Goodbyes and Rise From The Ashes are the highlights in the game, both have fantastic characters and a really intriguing story. yes, Turnabout Samurai is a low point for the series in general, but other than that, this game served it's purpose well.

Secret Neighbor0
Dec 31, 2022
getting an ice pick lobotomy would be more fun than playing this game. everything is WAY too dark, the game play itself is SUPER unbalanced, the kids' abilities do damn near nothing, the map design is atrocious, game play is boring and monotonous, and it is very possible for one person to hide the whole time and touch no buttons, but still win. this might be the worst XBOX game I've ever played, and my second least favorite game of all time besides Yoshi's New Island. TinyBuild, do better.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star8
Dec 31, 2022
Dont really get the hate for this game, definitley the worst Paper Mario game, but that doesn't mean it's bad. yes, the sticker mechanic is a bit annoying and the game isn't as charming as it could be, but that's where my gripes end. even though I like the regular RPG gameplay of 64 and the thousand year door better, the sticker mechanic still brings a neat sense of inventory management into this game, the writing is still very charming and the level design is still pretty fun. it is the weakest in the series, but if you want a 3DS game, you can do a whole lot worse than Sticker Star

Carnival Games (2007)3
Dec 31, 2022
This game feels INCREDIBLY unfinished, characters dissapear from existence and don't have collision, the items feel incredibly useless, and UI is absolutely trash. it's unheard of for a game collection like this to have so many games that somehow control worse than Gang Bests, GANG BEASTS. this game shoves touchscreen controls down your throat, and they're rarely well implemented. there are so many useless features in this game, too. this game is probably the worst DS game I've played, but then again, I haven't played Deal or No Deal

Dec 31, 2022
Talk about a fantastic experience, this game excels in every facet. Smooth and fun to master controls, phenomenal soundtrack, both charming and beautiful writing, incredible level design...minus core. Core and a couple of b-sides are really the only reason this game isn't a 10/10 for me. but besides those, nearly everything about this game is done to perfection. and the art, holy hell! the art of this game is damn-near perfection, the pixel art of the actual game play merges so well with the non-pixel art UI, the map looks absolutely great. GOD! this game is fantastic, it's a hard game, like: really really hard at some points, but is so rewarding and I love nearly everything about it.

Gang Beasts3
Dec 31, 2022
When this game got popular, I wondered why it blew up......I still wonder why it blew up. Gang Beasts controls like a lobotomized jar of peanut butter, something as simple as walking from one side of the map to the other is a chore, yes, this is on purpose, but purposefully bad controls are still purposefully bad controls. Punching and Headbutting work when they feel like it, not great for a fighting game. the map designs range from mildly interesting to frustrating, the ferris wheel map is actually fun but the truck one focuses on "can you stand," rather than "can you fight." the graphics are subpar at best, and the OST is incredibly mediocre. I guess I like the various outfits and it still has that indie charm to it, but it's not a very enjoyable experience.

Dec 31, 2022
Holy hell, this game's story is awesome. I actually didn't know that this stuff didn't happen for a while, the writing is that realistic. this game's atmosphere is an absolute marvel, calm and serene at points while saddening and worrying at others. the writing in this game is absolutely phenomenal, I'm talking DGS2 levels of well-written. And oh boy! Davey's voice acting is some of the best I've heard. even though it's a very short game, I can safely say it was worth every penny, and I couldn't recommend it enough

Dec 31, 2022
This game should have been better, and while cases 2 and 4 are still enjoyable, they're really nothing to write home about. The writing in this game is incredibly bad outside of the aforementioned cases 2 and 4, a bit of a problem in a visual novel. I can not stress enough how much of a chore cases 3 and 5 are, they S U C K. thankfully, the sequel was much better, but this is easily the worst game in the series.

Uno (2016)2
Dec 31, 2022
This game feels like it was slapped together in a matter of minutes, online play doesn't work, AI programming could be improved vastly, the game actively feels like it's wasting my time with how much slower it is than regular Uno, the sounds are annoying, every aspect of this game besides the visuals and OST, I have problems with. however, at it's core, it's still Uno, which is my favorite card game! plus, like I said, the OST and visuals are fine

Just Shapes & Beats8
Dec 29, 2022
This game's visuals and story are rather simple, but in my opinion that works in the game's favor. this game is wildly fun to play (with a couple of exceptions), and since you only have 2 things you can do, it never feels like any level is too overly complicated. this game doesn't really have much I dislike about it, so why didn't I rate this higher than an 8? well, while this game is great at most things, the factory is definitely a slog to get to, and it kinda makes the main campaign slightly less fun to play. but other than that, it's mainly because while a lot of the individual components that make this game are great, they could definitley be improved. still, worth it's price tag and also play it with a controller.

Dec 29, 2022
This is my favorite game of all time, just buy it. the writing in this game (especially the second one in the collection), is absolutely genius. this game does so much so right, the fantastic graphics, legendary soundtrack, memorable characters, the best protagonist in the series, I could literally not recommend this game enough. I'm being a little vague here, but if you love visual novels, or you're just a passer by like I was when I found this series, buy this game. this game was 60 dollars on steam and took years to be localized, but it was all worth it

Yoshi's New Island0
Dec 29, 2022
This game ruins all of the charm of the original game, the soundtrack is god-awful. the graphics are worse than the ones of the original, a game 14 years older than this one. this game's game play spits in the face of the original. yes, it may control well, but that doesn't mean it's fun. the levels are not nearly as unique as the ones in the original, and are WAY too easy, the addition of the invincibility wings make this game feel like it was made for babies, literal babies. half of the bosses are Kamek and the other half are ridiculously easy. I really can't stress this enough, this game both sticks too close to the original, and strays too far away. i'm fine with a game trying something different, but downgrading the difficulty as much as this isn't a welcome change, but it's too close to the original game in the way that the only new thing they add is something that does nothing to enhance its experience. This is my actual least favorite game of all time, it came out in 2014 and I'm still mad about it in 2022
