I'm one of those 'waited 13 years for it'-folks, and I was a little sceptical, to be honest. This game is excellent. It's definitely gonna be dividing. If you expect Dead Space or Resident Evil, you'll likely be disappointed ROUTINE is a blend of Alien: Isolation and SOMA with a hint of 2001: A Space Odyssey for good measure and yet it manages to have its very own unique identity. You'll enjoy this if you like solving puzzles (which are mostly more demanding than the typical Resident Evil puzzles), vibing in super detailed, believable environments, and feeling the pressure of being hunted and not having much to defend yourself with. This is an atmospheric game. The graphics are outstanding, the sound design is INTENSE. The whole place is alive, graphically and acoustically. The story will be dividing too, just like the game. The narration is sparse, but the environments do a lot. There are emails, notes, (very few) audiologs, visual hints clueing you in as to what's going on.There's a philosophical angle that I quite liked, but the game is not holding your hand - neither with the story and how to piece it all together, nor with the game design itself. You need to work in this game. No map, no arrows, no UI telling you what to do. And I love ****, if you like to bathe in excruciatingly well crafted atmosphere, and can stomach some really intense, spooky moments, and creative problem solving, then this game is for you. I'm glad the 13 years made this into what it is. A little masterpiece that I didn't see coming.

Incredibly fun. I've played THPS 3 and 4 back then and loved 3, but didn't gel with 4. The changes they made here absolutely made 4 my favorite entry so far. The bigger but more streamlined stages work SO well for the fun action romp formula that THPS was always known for. Grinding endlessly, lining up tricks, driving that multiplier up, racking up scores - it's just as fun as it was back then. The graphics really make the stages shine. Some of the more "afternoony" places look sooo chill and gorgeously viby with this new engine and the music just f*cking makes this game pure bliss. I'm not salty about some of the OG music tracks missing, as we got SO MANY new tracks, and most of them are perfectly fitting. They're all a vibe. And I say that as someone who's very picky with music. I play this game when I feel competitive, wanting to crack some of those high scores, and I play it when I'm burned out from work, just exploring these beautiful stages, looking for little surprises and easter eggs in the scenery or hidden stat bumps. Love this game. Even better than the 1+2 Remake. Please keep'em coming.

Is it a good game? Yes. Is it a good MK game? Not in my opinion. Too many competitors, therefore the tracks are way too wide. The racing feels less focused than in previous games, the tracks less polished and iconic. The open world is pretty forgettable. While this works in Car-"RPG"-games like Forza Horizon, it's just not a good fit for MK. The graphics are fine, but not really much of a step up from the previous one. MK8 played better than this, even at release in its not- final form. Good game, but a disappointment nonetheless, especially for *that* price.

I loved the first one and generally like most Remedy games. But here they tried to do stuff they obviously aren't equipped to handle. From the constant superimposed flashes the game loves to throw at you to the story that's too idiotic and two dimensional to be taken seriously and not funny enough to be a brave and entertaining pisstake, to the empty characters, bad acting and the abundance of horrid pacing issues - the game just feels like things that want to come together somehow but just aren't given the chance. I couldn't care for anyone in this game. I like Wake in the first one. Sure, he was the copycat image of a hack, but he was relatable. He was a poor man's Steven King. Here, he is a bad copy of an already bad copy. AW1 was fun, because Wake was a bad writer and we lived in his world. AW2 he_still_ is a bad writer, but the bad writing has spilled over into the game's writing itself. There are so many cringy and plain bad moments in the game, it's really disheartening. If AW2 tried to be a little less of a self-absorbed playable Arthouse movie and a bit more of an intelligent story, it might have been the sequel the first one deserved.

This is the definition of meh. On the plus side, the driving feels great. The lauded physics overhaul is noticeable. And that's pretty much it. For a "next gen" racing game, this looks surprisingly "not-next-gen". It also has its fair share of graphical glitches and rough looking textures. Something that previous entries didn't have. Lighting, shading etc seems okay. Not great, but okay. I think I expected a little more. Worst for me is, that they decided to get rid of the fantasy tracks: Prague, Bernese Alps (excellent for high speed racing), Rio - all gone. These were my favourite tracks, as they brought some much needed vibe and variety to the otherwise good but pretty same looking real life tracks. And then there's career mode. What a drag. Forza never had spicy campaigns, but this one really feels like busy work. I spent an hour on it and never touched it again. I'm just doing time trials and Rivals. The whole game just lacks the polish of previous Forzas. For an unnumbered "Refresh" of the series, this is just meh. Check it on GamePass, but don't buy it.

It's (unfortunately only) passable. Serviceable. It does look good, and it does have some of those magical surprises that made FF7(R) great. As others said: The dialogue writing is showing its age, but is still acceptable. The story itself isn't too shabby, so if you're just looking for more of that FF7-realm magic, you might get what you look for. The battle system works good enough, though a little more tactical engagement would have been nice. Materia Fusion is pretty cool. All in all, it's a good, solid 7, BUT: The price point is -for what it actually is, a good looking remaster- a little too steep. If this was a $39,99 title, it'd be a 7.5.

Great game. I didn't know anything about it, found it by accident and really liked the vibe of it. It's Dead Rising combined with Roguelite mechanics sprinkled with Sunset Overdrive vibes. It's beautiful. I really dug the writing. The game seems to drop the quantity of the story bits after a while but since it relies on roguelike-mechanics it would have been very hard to deliver story bits after each time you die in a dungeon (of which there will be plenty). It's super creative and a lot of fun for playing half an hour here or there, though I've spent my first day playing it almost the entire day. It's super hooky. Give it a try!

Difficult. Not the game, rather my relationship with it. I'm a huge Dark Descent-fan and an even bigger, massive SOMA fan. I knew this was gonna be a tad different but I was hyped nevertheless. Frictional is one of the most promising developers out there and I really dig Thomas Grip and the endless thought and effort he and his team puts into their games. I just love the way they work and think. I was really looking forward to Amnesia: Rebirth. I do think the graphics are improved over the original Amnesia (and Machine for Pigs), but only slightly. It seems to be the same (selfmade) engine, which really isn't a problem as it works totally fine. I didn't have any problems technically, not even any noticeable framerate drops or such. The sound is, like in SOMA and D.D. before, a perfect example of how to amalgamate audio and atmosphere. The guy that does the music (unfortunately I forgot his name) has a deep understanding of how to provoke a feeling that fits a theme and space of a work like this perfectly. Sound design is splendid just as well, voice work ranges from question of taste to very well, no shortcomings overall. The story is engaging. It's not as deeply thought provoking as SOMA's story, but then again, this is not a SOMA-type game. This game is about about deeply human reactions to extraordinary things, to panic, to wonder, to fear for ones own life and that of someone else. This is about emotions. I personally always prefer SOMA-style philosophical thought experiments over emotional content, but that doesn't mean this isn't well done. It is. Now to the reason I can't bring myself to rate this higher than 6/10: Whereas SOMA and Amnesia before weren't 'realistic' games per se, they sure didn't have illogical, silly moments that killed the immersion. Rebirth, unfortunately, is FULL of silliness. The type that breaks the magic. Our protagonist, Tasie, can only carry ten matches. Weird? Yes. But only slightly more silly than the resident evil soldiers and policemen who can't carry that ONE additional key anymore. There's absolutely NO way to just put it anywhere else, in their shoe, in their briefs, bra or between their arm and watch. It's the key that's needed for escape, for survival, for freeing someone they care about. It just absolutely cannot be carried though, because the inventory is full. Well. Silly, but it's a game and it needs to follow rules to work. It's fine. In Rebirth, you absolutely CANNOT carry an eleventh match. Even though Tasie will totally loose it in the dark, when she's out of light sources (and she's out of light sources pretty quick, thus going insane in dark areas). I get it, it's a question of game balancing. But: Why on earth can't she pick up a free standing, transportable candle, a torch hangin on the wall or sticking out of the ground, or any other small, carryable light source? She could pick up an oil lamp, before. Again: Balancing. Game design. I understand, it just feels SO silly in this game. There's no logical explanation for it, especially, when we, as the player, feel so strongly with Tasie and know that she can absolutely not stay in the dark for more than mere seconds because of her condition. For a game that puts all its horses on being immersive, this is a pretty big problem. I just don't believe it. It feels like a GAME here, it's the mechanics shining through, brightly and destructively. Whenever I pass a totally carryable candle on some table next to me, hearing how Tasie is close to loosing it in the dark, I just can not believe the setting and story and overall structure anymore. It's just too silly. Another thing I neither liked nor expected from a Frictional game, is the use of jump scares. I think they're cheap and kind of take the atmosphere someplace else. I loved being scared in D. D. and SOMA. It was existential. It was built, handmade. It was real and utterly relatable. I enjoyed being scared. Here, I'm constantly fearing another random jump scare (not gonna spoil what it consists of (even though it'd only be a mild spoiler)), which takes me out of that basic, that core emotion I wanted to feel: I want to listen to monster somewhere, I want to let the music soak in, to explore what I'm feeling after I've read another little note seconds ago, slowly piecing the story together. Frictional Games said they combined the best of SOMA and D.D. here, but me - personally, I think that didn't work. This game, as a whole, works neither as good as SOMA nor D.D. Another problem was that sometimes, especially in the beginning, I couldn't 'read' what spooked Tasie. Some little bit somewhere in the dark background that I missed? Some dead fella somewhere (looking at them raises Tasies fear) that was buried in the shadows? Was it just a random jump scare because her fear already was a little too high? It's not that big of a problem as the other things, but it makes the game guess work.

It's not for everyone: If you like to sink hours into stuff like Minecraft or enjoy atmospheric games, this is for you. If you like games to take you to other places, to be artsy and weird, this is for you. If you don't mind a somewhat reduced gameplay and enjoy strong emphasis on vibe, game world and plot - this is for you. It has whacky and serious moments, some subtle, some on the nose. It's not a perfect game, but it's the perfect antithesis to all those recurring safe bets, to the FIFA's, Need For Speed's and Call of Duty's (all good games). It's something else, something entirely unique. You won't ever have played something like this before. Promise. I'm about 25 hours in and personally loved every second so far. The mediocre and bad scores mostly stem from folks who don't like this sort of game, which is very understandable. It's a dividing game. It's special. This is an atmospheric game. It's a looker and a sounder (the ambience is beautiful, sound, music cues, it's just spot on). While I personally never found any character in Remedy games more likable than Mr. Wake, I don't feel bugged by Jesse. Not as much as by almost the entire Quantum-Break-cast which just oozed Hollywood-by-numbers. An intricate web of information and details is woven. The narrative feels right. Timing wise, content wise. It's presented beautifully. There's a certain colour curve and grain over everything, that lends itself fittingly to the 60-70's-ish interior and feel of the Bureau. Gunplay feels quick and responsive, there's lots of physical game mechanics that are rally fun to learn and use. Feels very potent. Highly recommended. Get on it, you.

I'm a big MGS fan and probably, from what I read on the interwebs, the only person willing to give this game a fighting chance. I know about the whole Konami-Kojima situation, but still, I like the series enough to let this convince me it was a good title. It isn't. 1.: It's heavy, and I mean HEAVY on the microtransactions. I mean, check this: If you want to create a new player character (like, in addition to your main one), you have to pay 10 real world Dollars to do so. 2.: The gameplay seems clunky. It's just no fun. This is obviously the worst part. It just doesn't gel. 3.: Zombies? I mean, yes, alternate timeline, and yes, this is still an entry in MGS, which did really questionable things itself long before this, but... Zombies. Apart from not fitting thematically at all with stock MGS themes, it's just lazy. Outright lazy and unimaginative. Everything else would have been better than Zombies. 4.: For some unexplainable reason, the glorious looking graphics of MGSV's Fox Engine look watered down here. Washed out and lifeless. How? Why? No one knows. Also: They pretty much re-used most of the Afghanistan setting for this. While those were beautiful looking in MGSV, it's just comes across a little lazy in MGSurvive. 5.: Game needs an online connection to survive. It's pretty much always online. Not a deal breaker for me, but for many others. 6.: It just feels soul-less. Story wise, art wise. I reckon, that's because this is an uninspired cash grab that tries to milk the expensive existence of the Fox Engine one last time, before Konami calls it quits and goes **** all the way. I recommend to stay open minded and give this a try of you're a fan of the series. Form your own opinion. There have been people who liked MGSurvive. Keep in mind that most didn't, though, and try to test it somewhere, don't buy it blind. Chances of disappointment and regret are high with this one.

Loved it. Word of initial advice: This is not a horror / survival-type game, it barely even has what most people expect from a 'game'. It's little stylized riddles with an overlying story that unfolds the more you progress. Someone here complained that the story was done before, sure, ALL stories have been told already (-maybe he/she expected something else because of the games title, which has to do with something in the story itself). It's the first thing you learn when you write stories. They have all been done. The question is HOW will you tell yours? And this is where this game gets really rewarding. I'm not that much of a fan of text adventures, but these bits are short and fun and only make up a fourth of the game. The atmosphere is fantastic, I really liked the presentation and the way the stories were connected. It has a great amount of abstract thinking behind it, parabels. They all make sense in the end. When you're done with it you'll know you've got served a variation of a known plot, but you won't have gotten it served this way. I think this is a little masterpiece.

Being a big fan of the original MD/Genesis version, I got this day one. I really liked it. Played through it in one day, IIRC. I kind of forgot about it and found it again today, played it again, didn't expect much and have to say: This is great. I honestly think this is a very, very well done homage to the old one. It still kind of plays the same, but with much needed updates in control and graphic departments and a bit more story content. Some of the dialogue is a bit ...wacky, which takes away from the darker Blade Runner-like tone of the original. But the scenery, the graphics, the atmosphere is very, very well preserved. Enhanced, even. I would have betted, that Flashback was one of those games that wouldn't work well in 2.5D, but... it does. Very well. I don't get any of the negative reviews. I get the mixed ones. But it definitely controls well, it definitely looks good (even today) and it oozes the old Flashback atmosphere. I guess those who don't like this wouldn't have liked Flashback to begin with. I recommend this.

I haven't been interested in the Sonic shenanigans since the very first 16 Bit games. I never felt the need to position myself in any one camp, I liked Mario, I liked Sonic. I always found it weird that many kind of "decide" for their plattformer hero of choice and than don't bother even look at the "rival". They're both great, they're totally different in how they approach the genre but that is exactly what makes it fun! Diversity! I stopped playing 3D Sonic games after Adventures (which I found okay, but it hasn't aged well, imho, and SA2 wasn't really my cup of tea). I, like most, liked Generations, but everething else (-and you are not excluded, Sonic 4-) didn't work for me AT ALL. I planned on getting Mania and playing a couple of rounds for old times sake, but... F*ck. I didn't expect it to be that good. It basically looks like a forgotten Genesis / Mega Drive Sonic game. With great production value, fantastic soundtrack and man... I forgot how much fun 2D-Sonic was. I ended up cancelling everything i had planned and just played Mania. I just finished it and really look forward to getting as much of the unlockables as I can. I think lots of folks feel that this is their Sonic-fans wet dream. I Just think, if this came out of nowhere today, without there having been anything like Sonic games, it would just be as fun. It's just a great concept: Speedy passages interchanging with slower plattforming parts in visually and accoustically catchy environments. It's done very well here. It's really satisfying, controls are tight, visuals are 16-bittish-crisp and the music is super melodic. My only gripe is (-if you can actually call it that-) the inclusion of the Blue Sphere bonus stages. I really, really **** at them. Hard. It's just frustrating. I'm better at the Ufo-sections, though, so that helps. I didn't find anything else to complain about. I would gladly take another of these in a year or two. Maybe with a bit less pixely throwback-type graphics, a bit more modernized in visuals and feel. But even if not - hey! It's a metric ton load of fun! Biggest surprise for me this year! Get it!

I think something off with the scoring here. 4.9 (as of now) is weirdly low for a game as fun as this. Is it perfect? No. Is it GOTY-material or something, that you'll want to play in two years again? Probably not. Still, it's a fun package and lovable amalgamation of that cosy christmassy atmosphere, the movie 'Breandead', bits of MacGyver and some silly one-liners that range from 5th-grade humor to something clever enough to amuse the self proclaimed humorous elite. (Mostly not, though, tbh.) The gameplay seems a little stale compared with games like the Arkham series, it's mostly button-mashing (-mostly only one, too), but that doesn't mean it's not fun. It feels crazy fulfilling to mow through hordes of zombies with bizarre weapon constructions while wearing a 50's housewife dress and a fedora. Storyline is indeed a little short, as some have mentioned. If you know that beforehand, though, you can mix your objectives 50% plot related, 50% side missions. I played through the game in about 22+ hours and just now finished the story. There's rumor about some DLC-ending, but that isn't out yet, so can't comment on that. Ending feels fine, though, to me. I loved DR3 already, so I was sure I'd like this one too. I never played DR1 and 2, so I can't tell you how I'd feel about DR4 having done so. Some here seem disappointed by the missing timer, but I can't say I miss it. I prefer to explore. As someone who feels at home in most things weird, odd and mixed, leading to that special feeling that you can't explain to others, I really love this game. It just makes me happy. It's so jolly, obscure, un-serious and colorful while fun to play. I don't get why people give it a 1/10. Seriously, that's just hating around. It's not for everyone and certainly not perfect, but to you, dear reader: This is not a 4.9. The internet does its weird thing again, don't let that influence you.

I like this game a lot, it's the best simulation out there, PC/PS4/XB1, doesn't matter. The reason I give it 5 out of 10 on XB1 is, that there are some fundamentally broken things that need urgent fixing. If you happen to play with a wheel you won't be affected by the biggest problem here: The controls. Something is just off there. There are weird counter steer lockups, oversensitivity and lots of other things that make this game close to unplayable with a controller. This is obviously something that can be corrected. But I guess that must happen quickly, as many people are already writing it off. Apart from the handling issues there's a ton of graphical things that don't work well. Frame rate drops, really ugly screen tearing and an overall mediocre graphic that feels kind of artificial. Nothing compared to Drive Club or Forza. There's a ton of bugs in this game, including lap times not being counted, full system crashes that will reset your console, weird things happening in the races, the ominous snow flakes on the tracks and the AI is really nasty and behaves quite "unprofessional". It's more like the AI of an arcade game. But, if only the handling and the stability were to be addressed (quickly), then I'd say this is already a solid 7/10. If the other bugs, the AI etc. were ironed out, then this would be at least an 8/10. I really hope we'll see Patch Adams dropping by soon. By the way - PS4 and PC versions seem to be fine, so if you got a chance to get these - do it!

If this game had cost 20% less at start, it would have been a very good game. This way, it's 'just' good. The lack of single player mode is kinda new and something most people didn't respond to too well. Yes, it's a bit light on content, overall. The multiplayer campaign is over pretty quickly, leaving no impressions whatsoever regarding the story. There basically is none. Graphics are slightly outdated (even on release), but that had to do with the not-so-fresh engine they used and it's not exactly ugly, either. Just some noticeable tearing here and there, but nothing too distracting. Apart from these things, Titanfall is quite a good game. I never liked shooters that much, but this game was and is a lot of fun. I think the controls are nearly perfect, shooting, running, jumping, jet-packing, all the movements feel very balanced and are just a ton of fun. If you liked Quake or any other twitch-shooter, you'll probably like this. If you're more, say, Halo-oriented as far as gameplay and speed goes, you might find Titanfall to be somewhat chaotic. I needed a while to get accustomed to the game's speed but now I feel other shooters to be much too slow and clunky. Mastering the controls is the greatest element of fun in Titanfall. Having a great run of shooting, jumping and wall-running while ordering your titan to drop and then dropping into it seamlessly just feels great. Camping is not an option in this game, which again shows off the good balancing. I still play this and am very much looking forward to the next iteration. This game is cheap on the used game market right now (also cheap on the digital download market), so just try it out. I hope the next one comes for all platforms, so no bad blood between the PC/PS4/XBone users will be found.

I got this with the XB1 a year ago and I still play it. I understand that to some it seems kinda light on content - compared to what was there on FM4, but it never bothered me. I think some folks focus a little too much in this comparison. This is a new game on a new system, they can't just take all the original content and 'make it look more pretty', everything had to be rebuilt. Having a game like this at console launch is quite something. But yeah, FM4 had lots of content (which was 'just' taken over from FM3), but FM6 will do the same and be double the size of FM5. Anyways, there's no need to buy anything extra in this game, only of you love, say, a certain oldsmobile, then you can buy that extra. The three additional tracks were free downloads and every now and then there's new (free) cars, so it's really not all what people make it out to be. As for the actual driving: There's no better game out there (that includes you, Forza Horizon 2) as far as 'feeling the car and the track' goes. It's really beautiful. I play FH2 a lot, I played DriveClub (which, also, ain't as bad as people say) and Gran Turismo, but nothing touches the feel of Forza 5. It plays perfectly. Graphics are good to quite good (1080p, 60fps), with the occasional blandness and the weird 2D spritey people standing next to the tracks. But yeah, it's super smooth and fast, that's what counts. Some tracks look magnificent (Prague, Switzerland), some look a bit dull (Sebring etc.) but these courses look bland in real life, too. You've never seen a better Nurburgring, though. I personally didn't like the music and had it off constantly. I prefer the sound of the engines and the surroundings anyway, but this cheap classical score was just bad. I like classical music very much, but this was just too poppy and transported a weird kind of cheap melancholy. Really poorly written. So, to those who like racing games: try it, you'll get it used for cheap. And to those who love racing games but weren't sure about this one: You'll regret nothing. It's the best racer out there and a good mix of sim and arcade.

Astounding game - it's like living in the first Alien movie. The atmosphere is dense, the sound design, sfx and music is not only absolutely perfect for the environment and overall feel, it sits tightly with what we're used to from the movies. Graphics are overall pretty good on the XB1. Lovely grain and warming fx, mostly good textures and it's possible to investigate or read many of little details on the Sevastopol to your hearts content. The alien AI works great and the danger of it lurking arund somewhere makes me feel like I'm 15 years old again, playing Resident Evil 1 for the first time. It's a scary game without being too relient on jump scares. It's what's possible, that's scary, not what is actually happening. Well, that too, actually. It's a fantastic game - not only because we finally got the Alien game we always wanted (and deserved), but also because the game itself is just so good. It combines joy and terror so magnificently. Well done, CA and Sega. A certain Randy Pitchford must be weeping into his moneybags right now. :-P

This is one of my five favorite games from the last console era. It's atmospheric, weird, funny, spooky and just very, very special. It has issues here and there, technically. Don't expect an intensely polished game. For what's missing on that front you'll get the most imaginative characters, music and overall design of all video game history, which more than makes up for it. There's plenty of things to do, the story is great, the dialogue is intriguing and funny, sometimes bizarre and disturbing. But the one thing this game does like none other is basically not describable in mere words: It's filling the room you're playing in with atmosphere. It's conveying the feeling of its crazy world with ease and never feels boring or uninspired. A weird master piece.

Fantastic game. Give it about one hour to get over the initial quirky controls (be it Kinect or the controller) and another hour to weave you into it's world of beautiful music, bizarre characters, interesting story and obscure things that will happen every once in a while. It's a beautiful, almost art like game that is the perfect remedy for many of todays over simplified, action laden and foreseeable games. I assure you, after two to three hours the controls have sunken in and you don't wanna leave this world. If you liked DP, you'll like this. I'm very glad we have games like this. Thank you, Swery.
