Dead Rising 4

Clearly, Dead Rising 4 is rebooting the series. It’s an entertaining beat’em up, albeit one where I haven’t had a chance to play online ahead of launch. I still think it’s a great way to spend the holidays, but people who appreciated the earlier games may want to watch some gameplay videos or try a demo first.

Dead Rising 4 is an outstanding iteration: the sense of humor, the blood and Frank West make a comeback and give the series a much needed breath of fresh air. If you are a veteran of the franchise, you may dislike some of the changes at first, but as you play it you will appreciate the irreverence that the series is known for.

Dead Rising 4 continues the idea of mainstream accessibility that started in Dead Rising 3. While the first two games were about watching the timer and making efficient choices, Dead Rising 4 is about killing zombies in silly costumes with cool weapons. If that's what you want, Dead Rising 4 delivers good, gory zombie fun in a Christmas-themed wrapper. If you're looking for something more like the first game, I'd pick up that re-release. If you liked Dead Rising 3, you'll get a kick out of this.

Dead Rising 4 is a lot of fun, but the challenge and tension that made the first few games so unique are dead and buried.

Dead Rising 4 sees the franchise's original hero forced back into action in a sequel that's bigger than any entry in the series before, yet feels more empty and bereft of excitement than its predecessors.

Despite a few improvements, Dead Rising 4 falls short in too many areas to earn a recommendation. A passable entry in the zombie slaying franchise that wastes the return of its original hero.

An unfunny and unfun mess of a game, Dead Rising 4 is a shambling corpse of a once-great franchise. Capcom would be wise to put it out of its misery.

Dead Rising 4 is the Saints Row of the series. It's over-the-top silly fun. For once, the timer from the previous entries is longer a thing. The game is set in a shopping mall during Christmas time and features the return of Frank West. In DR 4, he is a college professor who resembles Michael De Santa of Grand Theft Auto V. While the formula is similar to past games, the gameplay has been revamped. This entry plays more like a hack' n slash than a survival title. Purists will hate the change in direction. If you're a fan that doesn't mind a little change, then you'll probably like it. I would rate Dead Rising 4 with a 7.5 out of 10.

I've been a fan of this series since the first was announced and released. It has become my favorite franchise of all time and the first is my favorite game of all time. I was excited when Dead Rising 4 was announced cause the developers said "We are going back to our roots". That turned out to be a lie and they removed a lot of what made the series different and unique. This includes even the most minor changes like the food inventory system. I like every Dead Rising game and yet this one is my least favorite. The people that made it don't have any clue as to what the series is about. It was made by a separate branch at Capcom Vancouver and not the one that made Dead Rising 2-Dead Rising 3. I still rated it as a 7 cause it is a very fun zombie game and I've put in 40 hours so far and I plan on doing a third playthrough soon to experience Capcom Heroes Mode. The story is forgettable and breaks canon many times, characters are poorly written, the Frank West here is nothing like he was in earlier games, and many great features within the franchise have been changed or removed. It still is a fun game with a lot to explore as the map is wonderful. There are a lot of zombie killing combo weapons and there is no timer. I'd recommend the game.

It's an incredible game, one of the best in the franchise, it's not better than 3 but it URGENTLY needs an update to 60FPS, I'm trying to play but 30FPS is horrible.Microsoft needs to wake up and start optimizing the games that were and are exclusive to the Xbox. What goes on inside the company? Nobody supervises or analyzes the games, everything is left abandoned

Just not good. I loved Dead Rising 3, but I couldn't get into this game. It was a little over the top if you know what I mean. Yah, Dead Rising is meant to be that way, but 4 was just too much and not fun.
